Lots of snow here this morning, glad it waited until we got home.

Kathy, I am so terribly sorry for the loss of your friend. I had a very very similar situation happed with me and a very dear friend, so I understand how you feel. My friend was 39 and expecting her 2nd grand daughter. Have a very enjoyable day with your folks today, I know tomorrow will be a sad day for you.

Shannon, we are usually on a "mission" when we head out that way, and time is of the essence, but perhaps we could meet up some time.

Karen, you are getting a dog from Prescott AZ? Sorry you had a crappy day

Dork, I am gonna get you that big ole high chair that NM posted a while back and strap you in it.

Juliet, you are having a biopsy done?

And who had chemo yesterday....Cindy? For the life of me, I can't think of her screen name.

NM..........we miss you love and  hope you are not in too much pain. We will have you a stool next to the percotini fountain. Shall we put your stool right next to DorK's, as I have seen her over there too.

Allison, hope your little one is feeling better.

Lisa, we will be glad when the year comes to an end, so we can see more of you.

Beans.............git your lil beanie butt back in here!

I currently have no internet connection due to the snow. DH just went out to brush off the dish, so in the mean time, I will go find Jocks and have him help me look for a DOTD. BRB.......ok back. I know.....I was only gone for a sec. Well, when you don't have internet, you can't browse for a drink! DUH.

    OOOOOOOK....here we go.

WINTER SNOW COCKTAIL ------------------but none for the snowmen!

    half measure tia maria

    full measure Bailey's Irish Cream

    half measure whiskey

    4 ice crushed

    splash milk

Looks like Jocks was helping himself to a few as well..............no more for him either!

ROFLMFAO at your snow pics, Lori! OMG so funny!!! Hope Jocks didn't lie there tooo long, sure don't want frostbite on his....well....you know. Glad you got home safely! And so sorry about your friend too, just 39, waaaaay too young. My friend was 68, but the sweetest nicest gal I have ever known (except for you all here of course!), and when she would talk about her husband she would smile so big and actually blush...she was so in love with him...they had 6 grandkids. She was so excited when I met my DH and then when we found out her DH knew him and worked with him, it was so neat. Oh I love your winter snow cocktail, sounds yummmy.

Juliet, So glad your MRI was good, and thanks for mentioning "another star in the sky"....I forget about that, and its a nice way to think of friends and loved ones who are gone.

Karen, OH yes, it sure does sound like you need a new therapist. But I also realize that when you need one, it is so hard to think of finding another one. My DD dropped hers a few mo ago as she had seen him for years and had no progress, but of course she is hesitant about looking for another one, as then you have to tell your whole story again, and you hope you don't have to keep retelling it.I am so sorry (yeah I know, not allowed, but in this case I wanted to say it) that you are going through this. You mentioned you should have journaled instead of walked, but I think you made the right choice. At least you were outside, and maybe it helped you feel a bit better.

Undie, thanks for the white choc liqueur!

Lisa, Hope you feel okay today, all that work you are doing...sooooo much. BUT sounds like you are so dedicated, and they are lucky to have you!

Bernie, Hope you are doing well! You are so much fun, and I love your one-liners, although today it was out of concern for those of us going through hard times, and that was sweet.

OK......Pants just filled a ton of glasses with our WINTER SNOW coctails....grabbing two so I can get FRIED too-dey....Happy Fried-dey to all you wunnerful loungettes! And like DorK,  I love so many of you girlz here!!!!

    Hugssssss,

    Kathy

Oh, I gotta tell you this. Lori knows I am a shopaholic sometimes, but when I find a really good buy,  I go overboard, like on paper products that will not go bad, and you always need them. SO there was a really good deal on TP, and I ordered a TON. So yesterday the delivery guy brings them and says "well I guess this will last you awhile", and my DH, who thought it was paper towels, joked "only about 3 wks". He wondered why the guy had a funny look on his face after that...(I wasn't here)...today I told him it was all TP.....so I guess the delivery guy must've thought we were really full of $hit! LOL. But the guy also told my DH that I wasn't the only one who ordered that much, and it must've been a reaaly good deal. Now where to put it all.....any storage space here at the HTL????

Leaving in a few min to pick up my mom....hair appt...then I am sure she might want to do a bit of shopping...lol. It was so sweet when the gals at her favorite dress shoppe hugged her yesterday! Was so sad at pau hana last night, with them. Just hate seeing them leave in the morning. Then I hate going into their home when they are gone, to take care of things...the emptiness makes it very sad for me. Even though it is a beautiful place. ::(

TGIF!!!!!  Time to tidy up the house and cook for Shabbat....I have some chicken soup in the freezer, so will take that out since its cold out....its just DH, DD and me....going to roast a whole chicken, make noodle kugel and not sure what else....of course challah....for dessert, going to make apple/cherry crisp....I'm the only one who really likes this, so it could be dangerous....but have other desserts in the freezer that DH and DD love.....I just want a warm dessert....of course don't know why I am thinking of hot foods as I'm usually hot (not hot stuff!!!)

Wahine...too funny about the TP story.....

Undie.....yes, Colorado weather is amazing......it might be cold for the next several days, but it will be back in the 50's before long....and we have 300+ sunny days/year

Goldie....there is a chance we might get the Berner/Rottie from AZ....the foster "mom" for the dog might be willing to meet us....I have to take Bear to see how the dogs get along.....also need to be sure DH is okay with the dog.....he is a real cutie!!!!  there are a couple other people interested in the dog as well so it might not come to fruition

    DorK....you are too funny

Bernie....yes, pics of your beautiful new pearlie whites!!!  Easy for me to say as I still don't know how to post pics here....when I have pics here its because someone else has posted them for me...yes, I keep getting directions, but never get it right!!!

    NM...thinking of you

Left lots out, but its time to get busy....lots to do before 4:20 candle lighting....its already after 9:00!!!  DH should be back in an hour or so...He was in San Fran the past couple days!!!

Will try to check in later today....

Wife: "I tell you the car has water in the carburetor."
Husband: "You don't even know what a carburetor is. I'll check it out. Where's the car?"
    Wife: "In the pool."

DH "walked" into some overhang walking to his car at the airport...this was while talking to me on his cell....cut his head in his hair line just above forehead...someone helped him stop the bleeding...when DH got to his car he took a t-shirt out of his suitcase and put it on his head....didn't want me to go out to the airport to get him....head hurts....turns out he needs stitches and is at the ER now....he wouldn't go to urgent care because he was afraid that his pcp (and also a dear friend) would be annoyed with him...so he called pcp and went over to see him...pcp said he needed stitches....DH mentioned going to urgent care and he didn't want to waste time waiting in ER...so pcp calls the doc in the ER and gets DH in right away....I'm glad that he is being seeing quickly but ER copay is $500....urgent is less....part of me thinks DH doesn't trust the people at urgent care...though I have been there and so has DD's.....just glad that DH will be okay....waiting for him to get home...

Hi girlz, Just got home and will be leaving in a few min for Pau Hana at my parents. SO glad that a photo book I made for my dad, of our Ireland trip just arrived TODAY. So will take over some bubbly too.

Bernie, laffed so hard at your water in the carb joke! (I will ketchup wid ya soon, promise!).

NM, Hope you are healing well. We all miss you sooooo much!

Karen, OUCH....glad your DH is finally getting that stitched up. Poor guy. Hope you got everything ready for tonight!

Juliet, Hmmmm.......whose yard to tp? Someone just a 3 doors down got their huge tree tp'd a couple of days ago. Yuck, what a mess....glad it has never happened to me. I never even heard of it till I moved to the mainland.

Beans, Your cactus cartoon is so funny! You scared me for a minute when you mentioned my friend "Zulu"...I thought OMG I misspelled her name (wasn't that name in Its A Wonderful Life?)....but it was you....LOL. Her name is very close to that, but is Zula. Thanks for all the kind words.

Lisa, Hope you and DorK can get together soon!

Allison, Is your DD getting better??? My youngest got strep sooo often, and it is not fun at all. Hope you don't get it, too.

Hope ebberywun else is having a good fried-dey. I am tired from shopping, but my mom was happy, and that is the main thing. Now to dwink some bubbly......yummmmm....*hic*

    Happy Pau Hana!!!!!

Wahine....so nice to be able to give your Dad the photo book before they go back to HI...enjoy looking at it with him

DH ended up getting 4 staples in his head and a tetnus shot....He is wiped out...DH doesn't know if its because he was up at 4am (or earlier) for an early flight home from San Fran or from the injury to his head or both....the guy who helped DH up told DH it looked pretty bad and did DH want to go inside to first aid....DH said not as all they would do was call 911.....Since DH's pcp is our neighbor and friend, we are guessing he will stop by and check on DH....DH decided not to go to synagogue tonight....I think mostly because 13 yo DD told him to stay home...DH said I'm glad she was the adult!!!!

So everything is cooked and just needs to be put on the warming tray....Candle lighting is at 4:16...so have 13 (to be exact) minutes!!!!!  Wishing everyone a good Friday night and week-end.....Looking forward to having a nice glass or two of red wine....Got a couple new bottles of Isreali wine....just have to decide what...Merlot, Shiraz or Cab.....Cheers!!!!

Then you have to go back and erase and say it again slowly and clearly.*****Goldie- According to mapquest I'm actually an hour and a half from oceanside so anytime you wanna meet let me know.*****Wahine - No problem there's plenty more where that came from.*****Karen- glad dh is okay. as many sunny days as you have I could never move from california unless of course it was to vegas.*****Beanius-I'm ready to go anytime anyone wants. Oh Kathy, Don't be sad. You come back from the airport and let pants dry your tears. No frostbite to report, btw! Have been catching up with you girls, too much to remember, and I didn't take notes, but will try...

Karen, hate that about your DH, but other than that, your latest posts have seemed very upbeat! Hope that means you are feeling better! Can't wait for you to get your new puppy!

Bernie, tank yew fo makin me LMAO!! Muah!!

Beans, love the cartoons, too funny!! Cwackin' up at all de fun posts!

Lori, so pretty, all that snow you have! Wish we had some!

Thank u for the well wishes for DD. She is better, but yesterday called me from school to pick her up early. I felt pretty crummy too, so we both came home, took meds and naps, and by last night felt much better! She was watching a movie in the basement, asked if she could sleep down there. We let her, but I have a client coming over @10, so will have to get her up soon.

Have all decorating done now. My tree this year is the favorite I have done! So cool, just put finishing touches on it yesterday, a 51/2 foot ladder with two elves holding ornaments! Will post a pic when I post de project pic, today or tomorrow, promise! The decor is all lime green/red and cheetah print, very funkyb and cool!

Okie dokie, if I missed ya, I'll do better later, pwomise!

Hey Beans, did you guys get any of that west coast wind? Wow, that was sumpin! We got dumped on with snow, about 12"! Temps were in the mid 30's all day, so ‘bout half of it melted. I'll be a page hog and post some pictures at the end of my post.

Bernie, you are cracking us up, and Gail (Astorm) had suggested we have a JOTD (joke of the day) she would be proud of you.

Karen, glad your DH is doing ok.....maybe it knocked some sense into him? j/k

Shannon, that is hilarious about your phone having a filthy mind. Please don't make the changes....it would make for some great reading! Not sure of when our next trip out there will be, and like I said, we are usually pressed for time. But if there is some slack in there, I will let you know. I don't much care for Vegas, but would drive out there for get-together! But spring and summer are out for me.

Kathy, glad you got your photo book in time. I know today will be a sad one for you. When are they returning? Let's think about that, k? Can you and DH go out and do something to try and take your mind off things? You could always go shopping! Anyways, thinking of you.

DorK, Lisa.......where is you 2 luvs? Oh, and I remember Cindy's screen name............is Tyediemom, right? Cindy, hope you are doing ok too. And NM, we are awaiting your return dear. I hope you are not it too much pain.

Ok, here are some of my snow pictures, for those of you who already saw them, just ignore! Will try and think of a DOTD, in the mean time.

Wow Lori, such gawgeous snow pics!!!! Wondered if you got the wind, but you answered that. THe second snow pic looks so powdery...must have been light and powdery? Ours is usually so wet and heavy. Love the pic of snow in your Wild West town....was just thinking of how neat that would be for a Christmas card....maybe hang some of those big old-fashioned colored lights from the overhangs and an old fashioned wreath....how awesome that would be! I am so glad my DH got a Christmas pic of our house for our card this year, when there was snow all over, PLUS it was still snowing. Usually don't get much here, so that was neat. You sure got a TON of snow!!!! OK, I am grabbing a long straw....

Allison, Glad you both feel better now, and hope she didn't mind it when you had to wake her up! Would LOVE to see how you decorated...sounds awesome!

Oh Bernie, I was reciting what you wrote, and before I finished, my Dad asked why I was talking about him! LOL....he was onto that one.

Well, gotta run....off to paint...no tears, except after saying goodbye in the airport, I was a bit teary-eyed watching them walk down that hall to the plane. I am so sleep-deprived, it may hit me more later! Thanks for all the nice thoughts and concern, girls!

My neighbour found out that her dog ( a Schnauzer) could hardly hear, so she took it to the veterinarian. The vet found that the problem was hair in the dog's ears. He cleaned both ears, and the dog could then hear fine. The vet then proceeded to tell the lady that, if she wanted to keep this from recurring, she should go to the chemist and get some "Nair" hair remover and rub it in the dog's ears once a month

The lady went to the chemist and bought some "Nair" hair remover. At the register, the pharmacist told her, "If you're going to use this under your arms, don't use deodorant for a few days."

The lady said, "I'm not using it under my arms."

The pharmacist said, "If you're using it on your legs, don't shave for a couple of days."

The lady replied, "I'm not using it on my legs either. If you must know, I'm using it on my Schnauzer."

The pharmacist says, "Well stay off your bicycle for about a week."

A quick hello to make sure I can keep my membership current! It is snowing here and I am bored although there is plenty to do around here. Was going to post a picture of my little Gracie Lu in the snow, but I can't get the photobucket site to work (or I don't get the new layout). Anyone else having trouble? It just looks like a chat site to me. Can hardly see my albums or find where to upload. SIGH.

BTW, I am the Bailey's Chocolate Mint gal. And now Bailey's has coffee creamer (non-alcoholic, though darn it!) I got creme brulee and Irish cream. Mmmm...

    Hello my girls,

Sorry have not posted. Was on the go all day yesterday. I got me hairs cut and colored, 10am appt. Then off for preop at 2pm, then out for the night to a friends house for a pre holiday partay. Could not turn that down. Darn, I do have a life! And if I don't say so myself, my hair looks darn purdy. i got bangs again. I am going to hate them and just pull them back. No time to digress.....I had my preop visit yesterday as well so needless to say, did not get all happy news. My right leg is diagnosed as sacroiliac joint trauma. True that I took two falls and also true that I should be put in a damn high chair. My doctor has me on two pain patches, one for each leg/hip. I confessed that I was playing super woman and promised I would stop.

I am wiped out after a very emotional day. I will spare you all the details but started with a big argument via phone with my DD. Then learned that my cousin, who is only 57 is taking his last breaths. The story is deeper but again, will spare you all. Still upset over what is happening with my parents but you all know the story.

Great news is that I am excited as I am going to my daughter's college to see her dance recital this evening. She took ballet and dance for many years then gave it up in high school. She is now dancing at school and this is her second year. I will try to upload photos but lately I have been making many broken promises.

Bernie, I will start with you since you really made me laugh. My face is beat up from crying alot today and when i got to your last post, I was thinking, damn that poor schnauzer with bad ears...should have "seen" it coming but thank you. Laughter is de best medicine aside from likker. and I think it was Lori/Goldie who said that Astorm woudd be proud, she is right.

Has anyone heard from Gail? I wish I knew how to check to see if she has posted. I miss her as I miss Stanzie too.

I am worried about Scuby, have not heard from her. I will give her anudder 24 hours but may have to send my people.

Thinking about my Westie friends. Lori, wow, what a snow storm but your pics are beautiful.

Wasn't that wind storm in Cal/WA? I hope Gail is alright. and I hope Claire was not out on her bike. I can see her now riding despite 150mph winds. And how about Beanie, hoping she is alright or did I miss that? Not even sure where she is, my lil vagabond.  I hate when my girls nessapear (and not talking about me titties, they nesappeared a long long time ago).

as for my grand puppie, that story....I was puppy sitting last time and just knew I latched her crate. I went in my DD's room to check on her and found her outside the crate and sitting next to it on a rug. she was sitting so cute as if she was saying, oops, I got out but am trying to look inncent. she was stinking adorable. She did not do any damage which is a miracle for a puppy. i had forgotten about this until it was mentioned here. So wow, my grandpuppy is a little einstein. I would have never gotten a morkie but gads, that lil girl stole my heart. I am hoping to stop by my DD's place tonight and visit her. I miss her more than my DD! No offense but de puppy does not hang up on me, shout at me or tell me she does not have time for me lol.

Cindy, I have been thinking of you, sorry for not posting. I swear I will try to catch up.  Key word TRY.

Gonna pop in de chapel and pray for NM, my girls here and my family. Then I gotta fly.  cheerZ!

Hi Kristy, Yeah I think Lori set me straight that it is you that is our Bailey's Mint Chocolate girl! I am always getting funcused....so many girlz here I just cannot keep up. But nice to have so many different personalities, and funny posts. Whew....so glad you stopped by today as your membership was expiring TOMORROW....nah...just kidding! Hope you visit more often!

DorK, Oh your grandpuppy sounds sooooo cute! At the airport this morn, a guy had a 9 wk old boxer (or bulldog?) puppy....but its face was so wrinkly I thought it was a SharPei. He said he even asked if it was purebred, as he thought the same thing. He just got it yesterday and was taking it home to CT...such a sweetie (the puppy, girlz.....the puppy!). Hope the dance recital tonight goes real well! I know you will be a proud mama. You never told us the details on how you fell 2 times....OMG you really hurt yourself a lot. Girl, you gotta take it a bit easier. Hope the patches help.

Bernie, I love the 7 dwarfs of menopause, and the "schnauzer" joke too! You is soooo funnie!

Well, my parents flight got cancelled, and I stayed till they boarded. Shoot! When my dad called, I was heading to my painting class, so couldn't go to the airport. But dang it, they paid for first class seats on 3 flights on DL today, and then they had to wait another 4 hrs and catch an AA flight in COACH, to DFW, then to LAX, then to HI. Hoping they at least had 2 1st class flts. But they are getting to HI 4 hrs later, so will be pretty late tonight. Apparently they had plane probs as the door wouldn't seal. But dang it, you would think they would be safe if you stay till they board!!! And we get there sooooo early, but I do stay till they board. I hate that they are in their 90's and NEED first class, then got screwed over. Wish I could have been there, I would have brought DorK's people with me!!! Now I wonder if my Dad will want to come back, or wait a LONG time, after the horrid delays today.

Lisa, where is you???? Haven't seen you here for awhile! And NM, we are all worried about you. I think I will call you tomorrow and check on you....hope I won't disturb you, but wanna make sure you are ok. And Gail, where are YOU? Did you have that long jury duty????

Happy Sat-turd-dey all you funloving Loungettes!

    Kathy
