My surgery will be Dec. 15. One week from today! I am happy to get it done, but have tons to get wrapped up before then.

Hi Robo....I have lots of kitty pics.....not too many of me though. Yay for you, your're almost through. I have to say.....whatever struggles you encounter --- you will feel so good about making it through. I think the last two often are the worst because you know how close you are and you know darn well it is something you can't hurry up and that it has to take its natural cumulative course.
Hi to Nancy and Orland Park.....see you all in the a.m.
Hugs, Jackie

Lemondrop.. I sent you a PM from this site about my ONC, etc. So glad that you got a surgery date... that is a big relief knowing things are moving along. I think that Spunkyboobster has the same surgery date or maybe a day earlier?
Thanks for posting the pics, Laura and Lago. Love them.
My newly retired DH and I are on our first big road trip without "kids" since "before kids". Feels like we are running away from home! The scenery has been beautiful, but CHILLY and even snowy. The kids and families will be joining us for Christmas in Arizona. Last Christmas I was pretty bald and still recovering from chemo and radiation. It really does get better!

Lemondrop I was so happy to get the surgery done. It seemed like such a long wait but once it was done mentally I felt soooo much better. I'm sure every woman can tell you the same thing about "not getting it all done" before surgery. Yes we all cleaned house especially those things we knew we might not be able to do for a while… at least I tried. I never did get to the windows but my floors were spotless.

As far as Adey I'm sure she will contact us when she can. I really do feel she's probably too high to type. Not even sure what position she'd be comfortable in. I mean how can she sit? Laying on stomach is out. I'm sure she will fill us in soon.

I'd love to join you ladies at your next gathering. Sounds like you all had a great time and are a fun bunch. Where do you all meet?

Just something that helped me out. I moved all my Easy Shirts and tops to the bottom rung in my closet before surgery. That way when I didnt have the mobility to reach up in those first few weeks, I didnt have to call someone to get them down. Just saying. : )

westieluv -- welcome. I'm sure you will understand that we sure hope one of these days we open this page and there are no new people. Some one will get on and tell you about the get-togethers. The current one you are viewing is from the yearly Christmas get-together. There are lunch ( maybe a dinner now and then ) bunch meetings nearly every month......for fun, companionship, sharing etc.
Anyway.....sorry you had to come here, but glad you found us.
Joan....what fun to travel on your own. Arizona...is it warmer ??? If so, please stop on your way and pick me up.....I am not ready for this cold just yet. See you all a little later.
Hugs, Jackie

I am so worried. Took care of my two grankids while my dd went for a "routine" pregnancy checkup (7 months pregnant). She called and said that she was inthe hospital with a fetal heart montor as the baby's heart was racing. That was at ten this morning. They are doing am ultra sound to see what is up. Just putting this here for two reasons:
1. I need for the people who pray to get going with prayers.
2. Hoping some will say that this happened to her or to another and EVERYTHING just turned out fine

OMG Zap sure hope she & the baby are OK. She's in good hands getting treatment.
BTW I got a text from Adey late this morning responding to a text from a few days ago. She's got ( ! )( ! ) now and sending hugs. Sorry I didn't report earlier but I was at work and busy all day. Just got home.
Just received my new LE sleeves and gauntlets yesterday. Medi doesn't make gauntlets in the same style/fabric as my sleeve so they sent these other ones. I think they are on crack. No way are these comparable. There's no compression in them. Guess I'm sticking with the gloves when I need them.

Susan,
Prayers being said! So sorry you are having to worry about your DD.
I did not have the same problem, but just the opposite...very slow heart beat. Everything worked out well, and she is the one who recently married.
Hugs,
Pat

Thanks for the thoughts. I am calmer. I tend to go to worse case scenario. She stayed overnight in the hopsital on the monitor. All is well with heart, brain, and general health of baby and dd is calm as can be as she thinks everything is fine. So hopefully she will go home and carry on, Baby is due Febraury 14. My sil took the two kids to see her at the hospital as their mom went off as usual tto do errands and did not come back and the cell was rigning constantly, so they wanted proof positive that mommy was indeed somewhere. I will ask Anne if she is drinking enough water.

Good morning everyone and Zap....you and your family are still very much on my mind and prayers for healing health still quite abundant.
Hmmm, yes, a whole week......and a part of me is still relishing the joy and fun and the wonder. I am very much enjoying the pleasures that came home with me..........and so, so much the joy that is such a large part of "sneaky" Rita, helping me to at last make a party. I am thrilled that it all worked out and you can believe......I'm so hoping to make it something customary for me.
Sido....I don't think I've said hi to you and if not....( brain function -- no memory ) considered yourself hi'd because the longer I go -- the harder it will become to recall. Especially with my head full of Bj's party.
Cold here too and frosty ground. No snow yet, so just heavy frost on the ground is a bonus point for now. Should warm somewhat. I can live with that.
Doing some week-end duty at the hospital.....my lady I stay with was having some breathing issues starting an hr. or so before I was to go to work yesterday so I spent my time at the ER mainly. Picked up the other gal who had gone home.....took her after a room had been assigned, and we got some long awaited lunch/supper. Hoping all goes well as I think it will. I just know that what will be, will be, and that is the yardstick I have to adopt.
I will be checking in later as I can. I will see you all then. Waiting to here all the answers from Bj's questions too.
Hugs, Jackie

Hello to everyone. Good news Zap! I think we all miss the importance of proper hydration. Gotta drink the water.
I've been on the boards for awhile but only recently stumbled upon this thread. I just finished a revision surgery in my recon journey. Things are going pretty well. My Mom is also a BC fighter and just did her last AC treatment. She moves on to Taxol just before Christmas. It's not something that we ever thought we would have in common. I was diagnosed first, then she got her news about 9 months later.
We are from downstate IL. Mom is in Herrin, IL and I live in a rural area near Lawrenceville, IL. I spent several years living in Bloomington, IL before relocating to my new home.
I travel to Chicago to get treatment from Northwestern docs now, but I started my journey in Indianapolis. Long story there, but things got better when I got to Chicago.
I see this group is from all over the state. I look forward to sharing and learning.

Westie.....good to hear from you. How interesting that you and your mother are having a parallel path in life somewhat. I am not too far from Herrin. About an hr.north or so. I did all my txs. though further south in Marion and Carbondale. Starting to feel a little dullish now the farther out I get....but it gets reawakened now and then.
As you probably noticed.....Rita is from Bloomington --- lots of great places in this state that is for sure.....and now that we have met each other ( could have been over something a little nicer ) lots of fantastic people.
Will be seeing you all later.
Hugs, Jackie

Welcome Westie. I am fairly new as well, and these women are supportive, strong and comforting.
Susan, I hope all continues to go well for your daughter. I will continue to keep her in my thoughts.

Hi IL Ladies,
You all look beautiful in your pictures from last week. I am going with the theory that breast cancer picks on attractive women!! Anyway, I am very unhappy with my oncologist from Peoria and would like to find a new one. Do any of you have a recommendation? I would travel anywhere in the state to find one that I like. Mine is so negative and always makes me feel like a ticking timebomb.
Thank you,
Nancy
