Morning Babes. It's my mums 7th anniversary on sunday and then my daughters 33rd on monday. My brothers 55th is at the end of the month January is always a difficult time for me but i believe they are all together with my father and their families. My brother and daughter were both only nine days old when they died, she was buried with him - so they would never be alone.
I don't believe - time is a great healer. It just softens and allows us to remember fondly and lovingly. Those angels are in our minds for us to call on and talk to when we need comfort, peace and advice.
We have a beautiful old simple stone church here, my parents and grandparents always went there. Sunday I will go there and light candles for all those that have passed on. There is a sense of peace and serenity there that no one has ever been able to explain. It is hundreds of years old and was built on ancient ley lines.
The earth is a great healer as the sky watches over us.
For all my Babes.

Loungettes, just lost a post, bummer, am kind of brain dead.
Chrissy, more hugs and good thoughts heading to ya, love the picture of DorKiest and you, you both have great smiles!
Felt better yesterday, enough that I went out for a beer last night when folks got done work. Of course overdid it, now sore and hit 2 percosettes, not going back to work tomorrow, Monday is a holiday, so DH and I are both off, want to do something fun!
Allison, how sweet of your Mom to send a new baby to your family, he is beautiful, tnanks for sharing! It will get easier to focus on all the happiest of memories!
Tiedye, talk to the onc and get their thoughts. Don't worry needlessly, you got enuf going on!
Am gonna post so I don't lose this, am in living room, bed just was too firm...
No plans for weekend, think I will stick with the Virtual drinking
Cheers, Beers and all of you Dears! Scuby0 -
MEMASUE-Forgive me for not including you in the westies get together. I didn't notice you were in NV. Once I get into the HTL I go right for the tenders and don't see anything else. Would like to see you as well as Goldie if we can make the schedules work. DORK-First you offer to flash me then you say you love me,i'm flattered. Although you'll have to get in line behind the others who've offered to show me their girls as well, lol. And DH was doing a bit better-until I made him run a marathon today. Long story and I kind of come off bad in it. I'm sure i'll be blamed if he relapses, ugh. SCUBY-Glad to hear you're back at the bar. Always a good sign. CHRISSY-Sorry to hear about the beast's reappearance, wishing you the best. ALLISON- Cute baby, almost makes me want one-ALMOST. Well off to bed for my very early appt. I don't understand why docs think patients like getting up with the chickens. Cheers.

Morning girls! DorK, thank u for posting my nephew's picture! They named him Avery Daniel, as planned. I think him being born yesterday was perfect too. Remembering my mom today, but with a big smile on my face, and no tears in my eyes!
Kathy, we will be going back to Nashville again soon, we can hook up then! K?
TieDye, call your oncologist this am. They will probably want to see u. Your skin does some crazy shit on chemo, mine did!
Scuby, keep takin it easy! Glad you are doing well!
Gotta go get kiddo on the school bus, then pack for Nashville!
Cheers! And Bernie, wish I could go with you on Sunday to that cool Church. Will say a prayer for u, and wil be teeny tiny in your pocket if that's OK? I will be quiet, pwomise!

Beans, LOVE your "I pooped today" shirt. I do believe I remember it! What a shock that is, or at least I think I remember it! I think I will just blame my aches and pains on age, rather than the obvious.
Oh shoot.....too many lost posts! Just hate that.
Bernie and Juliet, thanks for the laughs.
One Blue Bombay dispenser for Juliet, coming right up! Jocks love, could you be a Romeo, and put that next to the white choco fountain for our sweet Juliet.
Bernie, so sorry for your losses. Can you take a picture of the church, so maybe we can all feel that same peace with you. I can only imagine how beautiful it is.
Katrinka, you can keep all dat snow. I no wan anymore....PWEEZE! Good luck today and da docs. When is mom coming?
DorK, glad you got some clothes for work. I like black too. I guess the thing is, is to figure out what colors look good on you. Oh that smart, sneaky Stella! Oh what a wise goyle to have de doctor put 1/16. Love your picture with Chrissy, so appropriate, I'm sure she feels the love. From you and from the rest of us. As for the name Lynn. My deceased FIL's name was Lynn, my DH and G'son's middle name is Lynn, as well as my middle name!
As for work, I wish you could work with us. We need someone to make sales calls! Very easily could be done at home. I just don't have time for it. Mese loves you too! Again, I start my day wif a smile. Yes, Stella can come here and she told me she would fill your JD dispenser.Alli, sorry for the sinus infection, but wooo hoooo for having a doctor friend! What an absolutely beautiful story about Avery. My husband knew when our grand son was going to be born, but not from any dreams. Congratulations to you and your family. Babies are such a blessing.
Oh shoot Tyedye, I don't have an answer, but hope you can find out soon. I hope it is not an allergic reaction. Please let us know.
Husker, good to see you pop in, but sorry for the shoulder probs. Hope you can get that cleared up with the pt/ot work outs.
Scubz, enjoy your time off and the long weekend with your DH. Hope you find something fun to do. But, bad bad girl for over doing it. You know better den dat. May have to get Mr Big back, jes long enough to gib you a spanking. Then he can go back to Chrissy.
Speaking of..............sending more love, hugs and prayers your way Chrissy. Let us know what they are going to do, as I am not sure. Would it be more chemo, radiation?
Mornin Unde'.....you wuz a bad goil too? Hmmmmm. Meet ups are always welcome, the problem for me is the time schedule. But try to make it work. Shoot, it took 3 years, but I finally got to meet Wahine. Was actually one of the highlights of 2011 for me. LOL at everyone wanting to flash you, so I will spare you!
Mucho Love to you all..............no time for a dwinky poo, need to get out of here early today.........ciao for niao!

Good morning girlz! Only have a second as have to get ready for the dr appt. Got up late...had a fever and felt sick last night..much better this ayem and no fever. But have a darn stye eye....hadn't had one in like forever. I noticed a small red bump last week but it went away, not it is bigger and white and sore, right inside the lid. I am falling apart...lol. MINOR problems though, I do know that. Just aggravating not feeling good. Aarrgggghhhh...ok will quit whining (maybe)!
Oh Bernie, I didn't know you lost your daughter. How very sad, and to have lost your mom and your brother in the same month. You have such peace, and a good outlook. Like Lori said, I also would love to see a picture of your peaceful church. My heart really goes out to you. Time does help, but I know how much I still miss my late DH, and that was almost 20 yrs ago. I can only imagine how much harder it is to lose a child. (((Bernie))), hugs to you, dear friend.
Ackkkkk...ran outta time. Gotta go get ready. Luv you all....have a good FRIED DEY.

Good Morning, Loungettes! Lovely snowy, icy morning here today! Snowed yesterday, up in the 30's today so everything is icing over. Very pretty, but glad I don't have to go anywhere this morning. The weather guessers are still saying we might get a thunderstorm later today. What a winter!

Karen-I didn't realize you were talking about ongoing health problems. I'm sure you know just how to manage them, but I wish you didn't have to deal with all that on top of dealing with the beast. Amazing how we can be so healthy before getting the bc diagnosis and treatment. Makes me wonder if we're blaming the beast when we should be blaming the treatment for long list of problems we all seem to get after! And that is a GREAT example of "putting your affairs in order"!
Beanie-Good point about preservatives! I got about 4 inches, nothing really by Maine standards and it looks like this stuff won't stay, either. I got my walk in yesterday before the snow started, gonna have to play with the Wii today, too slippery for walk with rambunctious puppy dog, and not quite enough for snowshoeing. At least technology is good for some things! And I am giving in to the nap needs on a regular basis and generally am still slowed down. It's just kind of frightening to be thinking and saying the same things my parents have said after surgery! The boring meeting didn't get postponed, unfortunately, but it did run short, at least. And it wasn't quite as boring as I thought it would be, bonus!

Wahine-Even though I ‘m not a fan of beer I do enjoy reading about the BOTD! Some of them sound like something I might try a taste of if I got the chance! I think you're corrupting this dedicated wine fan!
Juliet-I choked on my coffee!!!!! "fits a camel" indeed! LOL!!!

Karen-losing a long post is a PIA (pain in the anatomy)! Hope DD gets over the crankies soon.
Kymn-post losing must be contagious! YIKES!

DorKy-sounds like a great shopping trip! Black may be your signature color but it doesn't have to be boring-try adding a "pop" of color with a scarf or big brooch or earrings or belt or purse. It's surprising how different the same outfit looks with different accessories! Stella sounds like a savvy lady, getting the doc to say she can go back to work on 1/16! I know what you mean about finding all kinds of lights on after a power failure. Apparently I automatically try to turn on lights when I go into a room even when I know the power is out! I have to make the rounds and turn off all kinds of lights, even ones I don't normally use, after the power comes back on! And there is nothing wrong with sharing about your day here in the Lounge. We ALL need to do that from time to time!
Mrs. Vino-Thanks for the tip about Three Ballerina-I'm going to add that to my "box of tricks." Smooth Move is another tea that is very helpful for constipation that you can get in most grocery stores. Probably not as good as Three Ballerina, but if someone has a milder case of the plugged uppies. . . . And what a WONDERFUL experience with your Mom and the new baby! I believe that your Mom came to you in your sleep, and that it was truly her and not a dream. Congratulations, Aunty! Can't wait to see the pic!

Karen-Is your DS a teenager, by any chance? That fb posting sounds like something a teen boy would post without thinking about how it might affect his mother after bc. Your friend sounds like a strong and wonderful woman. It must have been hard to see her after losing so much weight. Your co-worker knows you are there for her and willing to be a support for her. She may be really holding on to hope that the biopsy will be B9 right now. If it's not, I'm thinking she'll turn to you for help and support. And you do need to take care of YOU, too. I've got to take a page out of your book and get some neglected housework done today. I really don't like coming home to a messy house after I've been working. Enjoy your dinner out!

Tidy-that kind of news hits hard, doesn't it?

DorK-I pay a neighbor to plow my driveway, he takes good care of me that way for only $35 a storm. I do shovel off the deck, the steps and a path to the driveway, but that usually only takes 5 or 10 minutes even in the heaviest snow, which this isn't. In fact, since it's supposed to rain later I am only going to clean off the deck and steps so the path doesn't get too slick. The exercise is actually good for me, and I do take my time. And I am STILL committed to no anesthesia for at least 2 years-and I'm depending on you to keep me in line if I forget!!!

Stella-DorK loves you very, very much, and I think you know that. BUT, you have been a bad goil and you weally, weally should apologeyes to DorK. Dwinking the big arse JD gift fwom Lori was not nice. Lori and all the west of us luv you, too, but wunning away will not help! Go make up to the DorKy wight now! And next time-AXE!! She'll share the JD!!!

Allie's nephew is ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!

Tidy-chemo can cause all kinds of pigmentation (skin color) changes, especially if the area gets any sun exposure at all. Show it to the nurses at the next treatment appointment just to be sure but I'm betting that's what you are seeing.

Husker-is there any way the LE and PT appointments can be made back to back? At least the you wouldn't have to go there twice a day, or every single day. Multiple appointments are a huge PIA sometimes. Hopefully the PT can figure out what the problem is and fix it. Wouldn't it be nice to have at least one totally fixable problem for a change????

Bernie-I've heard about the old churches built on the ley lines over there and always wanted to visit one. Sometimes I think our ancestors were in much better touch with the energies of the earth and their connection with God than we are today. I've heard from people who have traveled to Europe that the US is really a very, very young country, without any really OLD places and buildings.

Scuby-I told you not to overdo things! Now youse payin da price! Glad you got out and had fun, though, was probably worth it! Percocet is a good thing, and so are 3 day weekends.

Undy-Oh, dear, sounds like you had quite the day! Hope you can get some good sleep and getting up with the chickens isn't too hard.

Princess Glitter Sizzle says the DOTD is the WELCOME AVERY DANIEL!

Good morning goils,
Bernie, I will be thinking on you on Sunday.
Chrissy, I hope you did not mind me posting a photo of you here. I have a few more to share and will use discretion. I love ya to bits and just know you can beat this. You are MY hero and have been the best "life coach" to me. I went to sleep tinking about you and woke up tinking about you.
Lori, I hope you are not offended that I do not like the name Lynn for a man. My daughter's middle name is Lynne so I do like the name. The only male Lynn I knew was an insurance agent who ironcically lived in AZ and he was an ass. Maybe that is why I dislike the name for a male. I used to joke that he was miserable because he had a girly name as I had never heard of the name for a male. Forgive me, I never want to hurt anyones feelings.
Allie, have a safe trip. And I LOVE the name Avery. God Bless him. And no prob on posting the pic. BTW, I put those little hearts there. I could not resist!! Hope you liked them.
Kathy, hope you do well at de doctor.
Scuby, I won't scold you for going out for a beer. It is hard to just sit, lay down, then sit some more. And you are allowed to move, just no lifting, pushing or pulling. Did the surgery irritate your lat muscle? Mine has been a little inflamed again.
Juliet, wow, look at you next to your two faborite fountains. May I join you? I can always have Jocks wheel the fukitol fountain here along with a JD dispenser and I can sit her all day.
Hello Kristie, hope your little Gracie lets you sleep. She is soooo cute. Would love to see more photos.
Unde', I only flash those I love hehehe.
Cindy, I agree that you should call your doctor. I am guessing it is nothing to worry about but I know you will feel better hearing that from a real doctor and not Dr. Dorkothy.
I want to ask you ladies a favor, I have a dear friend who needs your help. Please click on the link and then click on "Beth Wray" in lower right, and "vote" in upper right. Beth is not only one of my DEAREST friends but has her Master's in Social Work and works for Gilda's Club...a non-profit for anyone who has been touched by cancer. Support groups and fun-filled activities fill up the calendar every month...all ages. She has been runnning a "teen" group, which another friends daughter is part of (my friend is a mother of two young children and lost her husband a year ago to cancer). This contest will result in a cash prize to help her charity and much more. Her idea is just great and involves social media MUSIC as a therapeutic tool to help teens deal and cope with cancer. I would love to see her idea come to fruition!! I can attest to how much music helps in the grieving process. Read on to learn more. Please VOTE every day 'til the end of January! Let's help out these teens and help Beth Wray turn her idea into a reality!! Thank You!! this contest is international so you goils from outside de USA can vote. I promise it is not a virus or anything of the sort. Please vote for my friend!!!
http://www.eyeforpharma.com/mobilehealth/full-entry.php?entry=23Well I am going to hang out by the pool as it is a beautiful day at the HTL. It is 80 degrees, with a nice breeze and the sun is shining bright. I think I might park my arse here and stay all day. Thanks Jocks for being such a gem. And thanks Lori. Come all and join me. Have a good day goils, and who loves ya???? Yup, God and Dork too!!! ♥

Morning girls,
Will try to call ONC about the spots on my back, but her office always takes 2 business days to return calls and it's Friday. Thinking I will also call the chemo nurses and see what they have to say. Will let you know.
Allison-I just LOVE the baby pic! Made me smile, he is so precious!
Bernie-So much going on for you this month! Praying for peace for you.
Went into work for a couple of hours yesterday and got to work with two of my favorite dogs (I also like their people which is a plus and doesn't always happen, lol). Really kicked my butt though, was sooo tierd. Didn't sleep well though.....been having alot of dreams about the BMX lately.
Gotta get myself going now. Getting house and laundry in order for next week when I won't feel like it. Will check in and see who is here in a bit.
Happy Friday Girls!

Kymn-I see Claire posting pretty regularly on the Arimidex side effects thread, so she's still around and regularly checking in. A trip to Mexico for a wedding sounds like a wonderful thing to be looking forward to! And it sounds like you are feeling lots better to be getting your hair done and getting the chemo weight off-GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!
Mema-someday we'll get off this hormonal therapy merry-go-round, and won't that be a grand day?0 -
Hiya goils, Kymn is SO right...so much going on wid ebbery1, its hard to keep up. Me tinks weese all needs to do a pub crawl wid da MemaSue leading us. She knows how and where to dwink! Such a funny comment about your car being too dwunk to dwive!
DorK, I voted for your friend too, and have a suggestion. If the udders don't mind, how bout posting the link and how to vote, ebery day so we won't forget. I know I would forget, and then have to search for the link, so this wud make it mucho easiero. She sure has a good plan! Hope she wins.
Ok, do I need to "google" or will NM or Bernie 'splain what "ley lines" are? Sounds interesting. Yeah NM, I agree, and its something I love about Europe....so many old bldgs, and soooo much history! When you return to the US, it feels like we have no history to speak of. Oh, just saw the beautiful old church that Bernie was writing about....thanks for the pic, it is awesome!
Won't comment to all, but luv ya and I read da posts and feel empathy to those going thru problems. How bout we all have some of those lovely DOTD's that NM posted....the "Welcome Avery Daniel" dwinks! Alli, I bet your bro and SIL would love that a dwink was named for their new son!!!! Pants, fill up the bar with those dwinks, please!
Ciao for niao,

Wahine--ley lines are lines of energy that many believe travel across the face of the earth. Building on a ley line taps into the spiritual or magical power that travels along the line. Very special things are supposed to happen where ley lines intersect, I believe that Stonehenge is at an intersection of at least 2 ley lines. Ley lines are considered major or minor, and many believe they create a geometric pattern on the earth.
Mema--I haven't followed the Herceptin info all that much since it doesn't apply to me. I do know it can cause heart damage and heart function needs to be monitored regularly while on and after Herceptin therapy. It's logical that someone with a predisposition to heart trouble would be quicker or more likely to develop heart damage from Herceptin. Then again, Herceptin is the only drug out there specifically targeted against that type of bc. Again we come back to balancing the benefits against the risks.
0 -
Wow, tanx for da 'splaination, NM! I had no idea, and it is sooooo interesting! Wonder if any bldgs in the US were purposely built on ley lines? Really awesome! And now Bernie's church has such special meanings to us, too.
Sue, SO glad you were here a dwinkin wid meese. Aint we havin fun!!! Have those tenders all to ourselves, except for Mr. Big, as he is being loaned out to our Chrissy so he can keep pampering her. But that still leaves Pants, Jock, Hunk, Flash, and Snow Job Boy....wheeeeeeeeee. Hmmm, what areas are you thinking of, for da beach? If I want somewhere I can drive to, I like Longboat Key, near Sarasota FL....in fact we will be there for a wk in Sept. In Hawaii, the beach by my dad is awesome, but not much parking, so it helps if you can rent a place there (Lanikai). I also love the beaches in Bermuda. Really don't personally care much for Jamaica or Mexico anymore. Stayed in the Bahamas years ago, so not sure how crowded it may be, now. There ate some nice beaches on the Big Island, and sometimes the turtles are there too (just like near my dads). Boy I am really struggling thinking of somewhere that would just be awesome. Stay away from Acapulco...we went there maybe 5 yrs ago and the beach is awfully polluted, PLUS there are soldiers with machine guns patrolling the tourist area....tooo scary for us. Maybe the other goils will chime in with their fav tropical beaches. Hey, you could go to St.Martin (French side is optional nudity)! Except the guys we saw were old and frumpy....LOL.
Oh yeah.......
ROLL TIDE ROLL!

Hi ya goils!! It was really amiss of me not to post yesterday (had to say it that way coz the 'S' word is not allowed....lol) ut y the time I got home I was really pooped out. I even had to stop a couple of times on the drive and pull off the road to close my eyes for a few minutes as I could feel myself drifting. Took me longer to get home but I arrived safely after all that.
Well, the upshot from the doc is, we are going to do nothing at the moment, just continue with my Femara. The only one he was slightly concerned about was the one at (not T5) T7. He said if I start getting major pain from it, he will order some rads to knock it. The thought was, and I agree with him, that they are so small and causing no trouble at the moment and to change meds right now when I could get another year out of it, could and would be a waste. Yes, in that time they probably will grow but we know they are there and beleive me, I will be very aware of them so if I am having any sort of trouble I will insist on a change of meds.
The treatment for stage IV is a little different than earlier stage in that we are not looking for a cure as it won't happen but we can look for pain free stability while slowing the beast down and that has been achieved as this is the first real progression since May 2009 and I know there will be many more .............every day is a bonus....yeah!!!!
Thank you all for you love and support it is much appreciated..............I certainly felt it here.

2 buddies, Fed and Jerry, were getting very drunk at a bar when suddenly Jerry throws up all over himself. 'Oh, no...Now my wife will kill me!' Fred says, 'Don't worry pal. Jes tuck a twenty in your breast pocket and tell your wife that someone else threw up on you and gave you twenty bucks for the cleaning bill.' So they stay for another couple of hours and get even drunker.
Eventually larry stumbles home and his wife starts to give him a bad time. 'You reed of alcohol and you've puked all over yourself! My God, you're disgusting!'
