Crissy - good to hear from you. And of course I'm in the same boat and couldn't agree more. You have done well since May of 09. I hope and pray I can get some years too. So far, so good. My last scans showed NED in my spine and ribs...oh n me boobs too...yeah! Everyday is a blessin fer sure! I'll dwink wif ya for many many many more....tits up!!

OMG Sue, I almost had to add another $20 to his pocket....really made me ROFLMAO! You and Chrissy are such inspirations, and I admire your spirit. Yeah, in St. Martin WE do not get nude...but once my mom, my DH and I were swimming (in swim suits!) and my late stepdad was sitting on the beach, he was in his late 80's. Everytime a nude good-looking girl walked by you could see his head turn and I am surprised he didn't have severe neck pains after that day....lol.
So sad to know that you lost your son, Chrissy. Hard to even imagine that deep grief, glad the pain has softened. I meant to put warm compresses on the stye, but forgot. Now it doesn't even hurt, so maybe it will be gone soon. Saw the vein dr today, but gotta wait for the insurance to approve b4 we can schedule surgery.
When're we gonna have anudder big partay? Lori, where are you girl? Hope Scuby is feeling ok, and everyone else is ok too.
Night night!

Cheers goils! Happy Weekend! it's 5 a.m. here, up early, but that's cause I was in bed at 9, took It really easy yesterday. Feeling good, still pretty swollen but the alternative would be Pratt brat drains, so I will deal with it. Can't ice the new foobs, not sure why, will ask PS, hmmmmmmm.
Chrissy, thanks for the update, glad you took it easy getting home, I once fell asleep driving and woke up in time to see the tree I was hitting, that's a scary feeling. Glad you are good with dr's game plan. Hugs and good vibes will continue!
Bernie, thinking of you. The church looks just so peaceful.
MemaSue, a couple other thoughts, Roatan is one of the Bay Islands off of Honduras. West Bay has some beautiful beaches. Also like Bonaire in the Dutch Antilles. Little Cayman has gorgeous beaches but is really small, will scout out Grand Cayman in April and let ya know. We tend to like smaller, quieter, etc.
BOTD is from Lost Abbey (For Sinners and Saints Alike) The Angel's Share. A strong ale that is aged for at least 12 months in bourbon barrels. 12.5% alcohol, but smooth from the bourbon. I recall from some distillery tour that the Angel's Share is the evaporation of spirits from the barrels
during the aging process. Always makes me smile and think of some of my dearly departed loved ones, glad they get theirs.
Hope you all have a great day! Cheers! Lisa0 -
Thanks to you all for the thoughts and words.
Not heard the name Brookshire. - possibly english origin
Mrs. Schmidlap hires a maid with beautiful blonde hair. The first morning, the girl pulls off the hair and says, "I wear a wig, because I was born totally hairless. Not a hair on my body, not even down there."
That night, Mrs. Schmidlap tells her husband. He says, "I've never seen anything like that. Please tomorrow, ask her to go into the bedroom and show you. I want to hide in the closet so I can have a look."
The next day, Mrs. Schmidlap asks the girl, the two of them go into the bedroom, and the girl strips and shows her. Then the girl says, "I've never seen one with hair on it. Can I see yours?"
So Mrs. Schmidlap pulls off her clothes and shows her. That night, Mrs. Schmidlap says to her husband, "I hope you're satisfied, because I was pretty embarrassed when that girl asked to see mine."
Her husband says, "You think you were embarrassed...I had the four guys I play poker with in the closet with me."

Just a quick jump into the Lounge as I eat breakfast and get the first dose of caffiene into me before heading off to work. Gonna be cold here this weekend, I may evan have to put on a coat. I hate wearing a coat, so confining. Oh, well.
Hi to everyone, thinking of you all, Have some BOTDs for me, don't do anything I wouidn't do!

NM, at least you made it to the meeting this time! I too believe, that all my current issues are because of the BC treatments, chemo and rads, being the culprits. Ha ha...luv how you put kool aid in the "Welcome Avery Daniel" DOTD......coot!
No DorKiest....meeze was not offended that you don't like the name Lynn for a man. I made my vote for Beth, and put the link in my favorites, now to remember daily to vote! Remind me if you like. Sorry ‘bout the frozen pipes, been there/done that. Hopefully you got it resolved.
Wow Kymn, lots going on with you and it seems as all of it is POSITIVE! Hoping you post a pic with your new do. DorK was suppose share hers and dint. And good for you on the weight loss. And a trip to Mexico too. ROCK ON GIRL! arry the Cable Guy, isn't he a little, ummmm, (brain not working) too adult for children? I mean doesn't he throw the "F" bomb out there a lot? I could be wrong, and hoping that I am and you and your DS have a great time.
Mema, I dunno why, but your p-monia just tickles my funny bone. (Pneumonia is def. one of those hard words to spell, fo sho) but happy to know your DD is kickin IT to da curb.
Oh Bernie, thank you, thank you..............the church IS beautiful. You too are a babe, ya know. But you know what.........now we want to see the inside. Or at least I do!
NM, thank you for the ley line exp. I did not know that either, interesting.
Wawa, nice beach selections for Mema. You have been to SO MANY places.
Chrissy Love, glad you had the sense to pull over on your way home, to make it there safely. And YES, every day is a bonus AND a blessing. I think being page hogs (or BIG hogs) just shows how much we care about each other. But not to say if you are a short poster, you don't. I don't mean that at all! We are all here for the same reason. WE CARE ABOUT ONE ANOTHER AND GIRLS WANNA HAVE FUN!
wAWa, yesterday wuz town day, so was gone most of de day. Came home and got some of my dinner together for today. The company we were suppose to have last week will be here this morning. Making a baked sketti, so I made up the sauce and grated the cheese. So now I have to just throw it together and toss it in de oven. But shouldn't be talkin bout food. DRINKS DRINKS DRINKS.....don't know them berry well, so told them to bring what they would like to drink. IF we get that far, as they are getting here at 10 ayem! Hope that stye doesn't progress. Never had one, but they don't sound much fun. My eye is currently itching. Well, not my eye, but just below my brow and the inside corner of my eye. It is also dry (the skin). But starting to itch now on the bottom lid. Always fricken something! I hope your insurance ok's things quickliest.
Schcuby girl, glad you are feeling well! Well, as good as can be expected. Pehaps NM knows why no ice on de girls? OMG! "woke up in time to see the tree you were hitting" OMG! Obviously you are ok, but sheesh girl. I hope you were not going too fast. That is indeed scary. Love the story behind The Angels Share.
OK, been here for 2 hours! DANG! Company here in 3, still have some cleaning to do and shower and get ready. NM, remind me to tail you about the product my company makes. My company that is coming over, not our business! It is like Wall o Water, if you use such a thing. I know you garden, which is why I thought you might be interested.

Dork - I tried to vote again for Beth, but it tells me I already did...I mite b doin sometin wrong.

Bernie - LOL too punny. Will hafta ask my Aunts bout g-ma, hope to see them in Mesa, AZ over Easter weekend.
Scoob - glad you are taking it easy and feeling better. Yeah, what about no ice on da foobs? Am curious bout that too. Thanks for the info on da islands. Am gonna google em n see what I can find out. Another ?...you say you're going to the Grands in April? Is Spring the best time for that area. I mean, like is there a Peak season n such? Or a time when weather is a problem? N I'd like to try the BOTD, not a beer drinker, but for some reason, that one sounds purdy goot!
Goldie - Hey....tanks bunches for spellin Pneumonia out for me. I got the p and the monia right...LOL
NM - I hate coats too....mebe we see ya in da lounge later...don work too hard

Oh Chrissy, so glad you stopped to rest when you were falling asleep. My DH does that too...can have a 15 min catnap and then be ready to drive again! I think if I napped I would be done for the day. When my DD was in the math and science high school about 7 hrs away, since I was already widowed but we still had the farm with horses, dogs, cat, birds, it was hard to stay overnight. SO my older DD and I would usually drive my younger DD to Mobile, unpack the truck and drive back. Neither of us are long distance drivers. SO on the way home, I would be nodding off, and would ask her if she was awake but she wasn't, so since I was "more awake" I would drive....running off the edge of the road and waking up with the sound of those bump things they put there. SCARY, don't know how we made it home ok, late at night. But it was also too scary to pull off and try to rest at night, with just us in the car. OH SCUBY how scary, I hope you didn't get hurt bad....how horrid to see a tree right before hitting it.Yikes!
Nice BOTD Lisa....like the heavenly name, esp with those that have lost dear ones this month. Glad you are healing so well! Good places for Mema to consider....you do know the isolated beach areas!!!! Funny that the island I love, and am taking my DD to in March, does not have ANY beaches!!!! All rocky shores (Madeira).
Lori, Hope you enjoy your company. I have never made baked 'getti, but enjoyed it out before. Do you have a special recipe? Would like to hear about that Wall of Water too....sounds interesting!
Mema, you izzz soooo funnneeeee! Nah, no likker out my nose (not yet that is!).
Bernie, Hope you are doing okay. So sweet of you to share the pic of your beautiful church!!! Love the funnies!!!
Dork, I foigot about the frozen pipes....did that get fixed, or thaw out ok???? We gotta get plumbing stuff (faucets, etc) for our tenant, as one faucet is hard for her grandhildren to use. And apparently that shower does not bring ALL the water up to the top. Well, she is a good tenant and LOVES our place, so wanna keep her happy, IT is such a beautiful townhouse, and big, and she decorated it beautifully, so she likes to show it off to her out of town friends. Thinking she plans to stay longer too, so that is good.
I hate coats too!!!! I carry them with me, but don't always put them on. AND I am still going shoeless, even with winter....wearing the fitflops still, cause of my toes. The stye is gone now...go figure...guess I missed the worst of it all week, maybe by dwinking a lot? THen when it burst it just hurt my eye as it was rough....that is all. ANd I could only see it in the mag mirror, so no one else could see it.
I know you are enjoying being with your nephew Allison! Do have safe travels when you drive back home.
Happy SAt-turd-DEY GIRLZZZZZ!
Titz Up! Rears Up! Dwink Up!!

Happy weekend ladies!
Chrissy and MemaSue- You girls are my Heros!!! Amazing!!
Spending the weekend trying to "ramp up" for chemo Monday. Eating and drinking really good stuff and trying to get into a good frame of mind. Haven't eaten but once a day all week and been totally off the water-that's not like me, but I've been in a really foul mood lately too, lol. Both boys are having friends sleep over tonight, so my house will be buzzing with energy!!!
My Mom (BC survivor of 2 yrs) brought me the most beautiful Christmas Cactus yesterday! It's still full of pink blossoms! So I enjoyed my morning coffee while looking at it-something pretty to focus on.
No word back from ONC or chemo nurses on my "spots", will show the chemo nurses Monday and hopefully get an answer then.
Really NOT enjoying the "other" SE of the chemo. At last ONC visit I complained bout some issues and she said they were the result of the chemo killing my ovaries-gave me a script which I found out is NOT covered by my insurance and is WAY to expensive for out of pocket! UGH!!
Not much else going on here. Hope you girls enjoy the weekend. Might see you in the lounge tonight if I can get a turn on here between all the boys, lol!
Cheers

Hi Loungettes! Thinking of you all today...today the power went out and we are still working on getting the water unfrozen. Power is back for now! (In case anyoone is interested, my DH and I are in a very remote mountain area about 30 minutes south of the Canadian border...it's been cold but some winters are way worse. We usually have a lot of Jeremiah Johnson type problems from Dec thru Feb or March.) While it's cold and snowy here, I like to sneak away to the HTL pool where it is always sunny and warm and where there are a lot of fun tipsy survivor gals hangin out to chat with....Cheeeeers Ma Dears...Now back to getting water going!!!! Love ya'alls!
0 -
Oh shoot, Beans, I forgot it was YOU that had frozen water. Did DorK have that too, or just the power outage? And you had BOTH....glad the power is back on and hope you can get your water unfrozen without damaging anything. Would love to hang out at our pool wid ya! Cheers!
TieDye, Not sure if they base it on income, or just anyone asking, but the drug companies do set aside money to help with prescriptions. Might be worth a try....can't harm anything by asking....maybe check out their websites? Let them know it is NOT covered by ins, and something that would be important for you to have.

A man escapes from prison where he has been for 15 years. He breaks into a house to look for money and guns and finds a young couple in bed.
He orders the guy out of bed and ties him to a chair, while tying the girl to the bed he gets on top of her, kisses her neck, then gets up and goes into the bathroom. While he's in there, the husband tells his wife:
"Listen, this guy's an escaped convict, look at his clothes! He probably spent lots of time in jail and hasn't seen a woman in years. I saw how he kissed your neck." If he wants sex, don't resist, don't complain, do whatever he tells you. Satisfy him no matter how much he nauseates you. This guy is probably very dangerous. If he gets angry, he'll kill us. Be strong, honey. I love you."
To which his wife responds: "He wasn't kissing my neck. He wwas whispering in my ear. He told me he was gay, thought you were cute, and asked me if we had any vaseline. I told him it was in the bathroom. Be strong honey. I love you too!!"0 -

NM,
Working dx is scapula trigger point, which I had about 4 years ago, resulting in a fusion of C3/C4. Not as bad this time. Not sure if it is related to previous neck issues, rads, surgery, or combo of any and all. PCP agreed to try PT first and then possibly a steroid injection. Will combine LE/PT w/back-to-back appointments, which will save me trips, but takes up school time. Trying to have one in the morning at 8:00 (back at school by 10) and the other in the afternoon, but still means I have to leave school at 2pm. Hopefully will be done with LE appts soon and can do massages and stretching on my own.
Edited to add...forgot to mention that today is my cancerversary. 2 pm Friday at school, husband called to ask if doctor had called me yet. I immediately knew. Doctor called him first to see if BS had called me yet. NOT the way to get BC news. Everyone felt bad about mode of delivery. But here I am a year later, with my little cutie patoutie, Gracie Lu (see below) and feeling mostly better about things!
DorK, here is a picture of Gracie Lu in her Christmas pj's...she got "fixed" last week and had a tracer chip inserted so if she gets lost they can scan and find us, hopefully. Didn't seem to slow her down in the least! Ah, to be 7 months old again. In dog years, she would be 5 or so?!!

This is me, the night before my BMX, I had some big goils then...do not miss them!

Ok, I hope this one does not offend anyone but this is me after my BMX, this is to show you all what the butcher in NJ did to me!
(note, I decided to take my journey photos out as some are quite disturbing but for those curious, here is my photo bucket link of my ride. You can see the progression of being butchered to just before my final 2nd round of implants. I will update once they heal better.
~disclaimer, some of these are really disgusting, only view if you are not easily sickened.

and this is me wondering around the HTL flashing, hey Mr. Big, over here, wanna feel my new goils??

This is my DH, Steve, ain't he cute?

And for Chrissy, here are some of my new clothes laying across my bed (note my Genie bra, LOVE IT!

another shot of my new wardrobe

and this is a shot of what I would rather be wearing (notice the cute little pink socks given to me by a very special breast friend, Chrissy has a twin pair too)!

And this is a photo of Chrissy and me chilling by the pool on a beautiful September evening, ohhhh those were the days....

and now, here is my fur baby, Isabella, the nervous little one I rescued. She was seized by police in NY from a backyard breeder and was nearly starved and frozen to death. She is a sweet little girl but hates my DH

this is my oldest sister Alice, she is drying my fur baby, Mandi, she will turn 11 on Valentines Day

and this is my brotherDavid, at his step-daughter's wedding

and my beautiful daughter Jessica, she is 20 and a college sophomore

and my darling Mommy and Daddy, at my house for lunch

Ok, I am going to hit submit. I am opening my world to you goils because I love you all. Now that I have figured out how to do this and size the pics, you will be seeing many more!! I hope you enjoyed

Oh Dork, had to pop in.... gosh you really have been though a rough journey! You are so pretty just like your daughter. I personally like your bangs to the side even though of course you are beautiful both ways... just my preference. Love all the pictures! Love your fur babies....oh and cute hubby too!
Chrissy- so very sorry to hear about the mets but sounds like you and your Doc are on the same page and will be watching carefully which I guess is huge... I'm so sorry though - never something you want to hear. Hope they stay very small or disappear... I never discount anything but I also understand not being in denial. Take care - you are just so amazing and such an inspiration.
Beanie! so sorry about the water... Yikes that sounds terribly scary - somehow I don't think of Jermiah Johnson when I think of you but....
Gotta take the puppy out! But love to all of you!

I have "great" news for you
The newlywed wife said to her husband when he returned from work, "I have great news for you. Pretty soon, we're going to be three in this house instead of two."
Her husband ran to her with a smile on his face and delight in his eyes.
He was glowing of happiness and kissing his wife when she said, "I'm glad that you feel this way since tomorrow morning, my mother moves in with us."0 -
LOL at that one, Juliet!
Kristy, such a cute photo of your furbaby in her jammies...adorable! And happy Cancervasary to you! I don't think any of us EVER will forget when we found out. Not a good moment, thats for sure.

DorKie, Such gorgeous pics you posted! Your parents just look toooo adorable. ALways love seeing your beautiful DD, and your DH looks dashing, too. Nice to see all your new clothes! And the pics of your journey....I had seen some of the bad ones before, and OMG how nice they look now!!!!! Amazing how they turned out....those extra surgeries were worth it, as now you have some awesome tatas. Tank U, tank u, tank u!
Anyone still around for a late Pau Hana????0 -
dork my vote is for the side bangs, scuby, probabley don't want you to ice your new girls , because cold makes blood vessels constrict and reduces blood flow to an area so they don't want to do anything that might impair circulation while your healing, gracie is so cute in her pjs!, bean hope you defrost soon
