Lisa - I am into exercising, cooking, gardening and 3 really athletic kids!
Makmak - yay for shrinkage. I agree with you about staying with parents in a hotel room - tough.
Have a nice Sunday everyone.0 -
Good morning.....wow, we are going to be having crazy weather here.....stormy tonight with possibility of tornados. Hey -- it's Jan 22nd. It is not tornado season. I am just totally weirded out with this yr.
Lago....I lost my last phone. One I sincerely liked ( if I had to have one at all ) so of course, that would happen. Probably fell out of my purse as it had open compartments.....and I never bothered to ZIP the only compartment that did. Always carrying more than I should too. Well, dh had a spare....similar to the lost one so I now have it. I could still go without and probably be ok.....but they are a handy item at times.
Wendy....I'll be hoping for great results on Tues. and great labs later. Hope it all turns out fine as frog hair split up the middle.
Mak.....great news and I hope it keeps coming. Wow !!! a DE graduate.....Can the young ones still start driving at 16. Are there some restrictions? What a grown up decision for your dd to make about the dance.
LIsa...I don't have much time for an actual hobby.....guess I could make time, but mainly spend time on here......and keeping an eye out for good quotes. In the meantime....I spend lots of time with animals.
Hope you are all going to have a really good day....I'll be thinking of you.
Hugs, Jackie

Good morning, everyone. So, hobbies for me: taking my kids to skating, hockey, swimming, baseball; lacrosse, gymnastics; cooking; traveling; crocheting. Doing ok this weekend. Yesterday was Day 3, and I did ok - took the girls to skating, swimming (walked the track at the health club while the girls swam) and lunch, then went home and crashed around 2:00 (dropped girls at my mom's first; DH is with my son at a hockey tournament in the Wisconsin Dells this weekend - they will be home tonight). The girls and I watched a movie and then went to bed early last night. I am tired this morning, but we are going out shopping and maybe doing a little baking this afternoon. My mom did our laundry - thanks, Mom! Knock on wood, nothing other than fatigue. Only complaint is that I think I am already bloating. Am drinking my water, but my rings are tight.
Diagnosis: 11/14/2011, ILC, 6cm+, Stage IIIa, Grade 2, 1/18 nodes, ER+/PR+, HER2-
Mak, yay for shrinkage! lisak, glad you got a shower, and sounds like you are feeling better. For me, those first few weeks were up and down, so don't feel bad if it seems like you backslide a bit once in a while. Lago, ugh on losing the phone, but glad you have replaced it quickly.0 -
Good Morning Ladies,
Mak - so happy to hear that you are seeing good results; I hear you about the "15 year old feeling" - I guess parents will always be parents.
Lago - figures it had to be your new phone :-(. I never lost a phone either but know that the minute I get a new one it will get lost.
Good to see that everyone is doing well and many of you are finishing up your treatments.
It looks like an icky day outside. I think I will go out for a nice late breakfast (love breakfast on weekends).
My hobbies are: theatre, books, travel and most recently I am totally obsessed playing "words with friends". Can't wait to get over that one. Years ago I used to sew and do counted cross-stitch. Don't have the time, space or patience for it anymore.
Good day to all!0 -
Good Sunday Morning!
Wow, you miss checking-in for a couple days and it takes a while to catch up!
Mak- good news, keep shrinking!
blackjack-prayers for you and those who use you for strength
Lago-sorry you lost your phone, hope the new one does it all, including laundry.
lemondrop-you are an energetic gal, remember to rest when you get tired
illinois lady-tornadoes? that's just crazy-stay safe
zap-looking forward to hearing about the birth of that beautiful, healthy baby!
as for hobbies-reading, just started trying to to teach myself to knit, love to cook (but hate making dinner...)
Hoping to receive my oncotype results this week, but sounds like 2 weeks may be optimistic.
Have a beautiful Sunday!

Hey Spunky.....I love your avatar. Here's hoping for a really good Oncotype.

Lago, I would suggest you pray to St. Anthony (patron saint of lost things) but I know that is not something you would do, so I will do it for you. Let me know if you find it; I could use semi-miraculous news right now.
Mak....great news! Also, I agree that your daughter, based on her decision, is one solid young lady. You have raised a wonderful daughter.
Tornadoes, Jackie. I most certainly hope not.
Hobbies here? I love to read and I write daily in a journal. I have kept journals throughout my relatively uneventful life. I love nature and biking and my Dh and I love theater.
Have a good day!
Susan

Zap if I start praying it better be for something more important (or bigger) that an iphone.
But thank you for praying for my phone. Could you pray for me to win big in the lottery. If I win dinner is on me the 24th!Seriously save your prayers for you soon to be grandchild. Much more important that a phone, money or a free dinner.

Mak!
Lago- Jewelry design would be perfect for you!
Have a great Sunday all.

Just teasing, Lago and St. Anthony doesn't do lottery requests. No one would take that on what wirth this economy! But actually I should add praying with my hobbies as I am doing a lot of that lately.
Cozy day!

Good Afternoon, ladies!
What a gloriously lazy day this has been. After going back to work this past week, and having to work yesterday, I looooved sleeping in this morning and basically getting NOTHING done all day so far.

Mak! - I'm SO happy to hear that your scans went well. All your hard work traveling back and forth is paying off, big time.
Wendy - I don't mind the white stuff so much, it's the bitter cold that I know is still coming that I can't stand. This is why a month from today, I will be on my way south for a cruise-getaway... NOT on Costa either.

zap - Thinking of you and grandbaby. Hang in there, I know you're worried. Stay positive!
Hobbies for me: I think there are very few artsy craftsy things that I haven't at least tried at one point. I used to be really crafty and always had multiple projects going on. Now, I like to plan and enjoy travel, dabble in photoshop art, read, and I do love my TV shows and movies. The last hands-on craft I did was the Snowmen pins I made for our Holiday party. I really need to get back into something physically creative again.
We are early in the empty-nester situation, so I feel like I'm still adapting to having so much free time. My kids were both very involved with sports and activities; it was rare for us to ever be home on a weeknight. I'm enjoying it.
The DH and I talked yesterday about possibly moving to London for 3 years for his job. It's an option he could probably take at some point. I am very intrigued at the idea but then I remember my parents and how elderly they are getting. My mother is in very good health, but my dad has had 3 heart attacks and 2 bypass surgeries already. I'm an only child and I would never leave them at this time in their lives.Okay, I think I'll go clean some cabinets out so I don't feel like I totally wasted the day.

Zap....I loved "Scent of a Woman" ( hooo-ha ) and watched it many, many times. I have favorite movies that I have actually worn out and had to re-buy. Just a couple of others:
"Something To Talk About" " Postcards From The Edge" "When A Stranger Calls", " Trip To Bountiful " and just last night of course, re-watched " Fatal Attraction ". " Throw Momma From The Train".......I guess I'm more of a movie buff than I thought. Most of the later Clint Eastwood movies.....
Hope all had a good day today....hi Laura & Onward....
Hugs,Jackie

Onward it was Mdg and lisamomof4....

I wish I could make it but work is way too busy for me to skip out for hours this week. BOO!

Jackie....my mOvies I watch over and over and over.....Titanic (probably seen it over 100 times). Terms of Endearment, Steel Magnolias, Where the Heart Is and Sixteen Candles..... I can literally recite them line for line, yet still get sucked in to watching them every time they are on.

"Trip to Bountiful" Jackie is so you. DH and I first saw it in theater and being so close to the actress in her bed was amazing. Then I saw the film and it too was so wonderful. Finally read it and relished every word. I am so not surprised that you loved this story, Jackie. You are so like the character who decides her own fate and is comfortable with her decision on how it shoule be spent.

Lots of chatter going on here this weekend. Lago... Sorry about your cell phone. I left mine in our last hotel room in Rome last fall. When I called back to the hotel manager to let them know.... Well, of course, it was not there. Yeah, right. Hate when that happens.
Makmak... Yeah for shrinkage. Now, enjoy that new driver. I remember being somewhat relieved when my kids could finally start driving themselves to some of their activities.
Hobbies... I recently got back into knitting and am having some fun with it. Other than that. I guess it's pretty much sports for me... Tennis, golf, cycling, swimming. Are those hobbies? Of course I have to add travel. I have been making a trip to the health club everyday and that is eating up a lot of time, but I really need to do it.
I passed all three of my doc appointments last week. PS, BS, and PCP. BS does not need to see me for a year now. Made me feel like I graduated from something.
We have a kitchen remodeling project getting underway tomorrow morning. DH and I have been working on emptying out the cupboards. Too much sh** . Going to be getting rid of alot before it goes back.0 -
Wow !!!! What a noisy light-show outside....we are catching it as we speak. Rain dashing against the windows.......it is not going to be a great night, but I'm hoping they are wrong about the tornado's.....southern Illinois weather e-gads. I shouda stayed in California.....I adjusted to the earthquakes really well.....usually didn't even notice many of them....they weren't big enough. Sigh !!! See you all in the morning. Hope you will have a good night.....and not anything noteworthy at all weather-wise.
Hugs, Jackie

Morning....ah, the storm. A bit like chemo...a lot of sound and fury and not much else. Gave up and went to sleep with the idea....much easier to assess the damage or non-damage in the morning. And so all looks fine.
Dh having cataract surgery later this a.m. Been waiting for it to be ready.....the dreary, rainly days and dark nights have been difficult for him. I think we will both be glad to see this done.
Hope you all are going to have a fantastic day. I'm sure I will.
Hugs, Jackie

It's soooo windy here today! My goodness. I can hear it whipping around outside. I hit the gym then hit Trader Joe's for some groceries. Later is soccer practice for my son. Busy Mondays!
Jackie - hope surgery went ok with your DH. Prayers....
Hi Adey! Can't wait for lunch this week

Kelly - are you available for lunch Thursday? We are meeting in Wheaton.....it's not too far from you. Anyone else?
Anyone shopped at that store Fruitfull Yield? I just found out they have one here near me and have not checked it out yet. Any input? I know they have several locations.
Hope you are all staying warm today!

It was actually quite nice this morning. I was out powerwalking in a couple of sweatshirts and a scarf. I felt like spring. Must be damp and raw now. My weather foot has gone numb

Lunch sounds wonderful. I checked out the restaurant. Yummy. I doubt I treck out there. I just get too lost in the burbs.
Katie isn't today the last tx!

Lago..you can take the train. I don't think it is far from the train station in Wheaton. :-)

Good afternoon ladies!
Jackie, I hope Denny gets along O.K. with his surgery. Let us know!
makmak...The shrinkage sounds wonderful! YEA!!!
Susan, I was given a copy of "The Hunger Games" and the sequel "Catching Fire." I'm going to start the first one tonight when the evening meal is finished and the kitchen is cleaned up. If it's as good as everyone says it is, I'll probably read into the early morning hours. I can't seem to sleep anyway so I'm going through lots of books!
My hobbies........reading, golfing, bowling, and spending time with our two spoiled cats. I am usually never bored as I have plenty of things to do. I can crochet (thanks to my Grandmother) but really don't like to do it. I was all motived a few years back to make the afghan squares that are put together for the breast cancer afghans that are sent to bc sisters. I never did complete a single square. I found my partially completed square on a shelf in the closet the other day. It looked pretty good but I'll never finish it.
Joan...congrats on the three good reports. Congrats also to Jackie on her good report.....and anybody else that I might have missed.
Rene...I loved the snowman pin that you made. That was SO cute and I have worn it alot. Thanks so much!
Well, I need to get moving and get some things done around here on this dreary Monday afternoon.

Wow, Jackie, thanks for your report on weather in your area. I so feel for the people in Alabama. Enough is just enough for those in or near the tornado alley.
Rita, "The Hunger Games" crosses all ages. Some of my younger former students read it and love it. It is great when a series can do that as then grandparents, parents and young adults can read the same book and talk about it. I know Onward loved it.
Have fun at the lunches and dinners.I will make one soon. I am working any day I can get when I am not with the grandbabies while my DD gets medical care for baby girl number three. I am more and more optimistic that all will be well. Work is good for me as it keeps me focused on things I can control. All good.
BJ......you on the other hand, are immersed in work that leaves you open to the needs of others. I think Kelly said it best....she prays that you have strength your co-workers need from you.
Take care!
