    Lemondrop1967 and Lisamomofour - I'm in the same boat as you! Just got home from the last two basketball games of the weekend. 5 basketball games, 2 soccer games and indoor softball practice. When did girls softball become a year round sport? I'm trying to read to catch up on all.

    This week is the start of week 3 of 7 of rads. Emotionally, it's getting easier but yikes, I'm very inflamed and it hurts.

    hawk, it sounds like you maybe need some extra meds/cream/gelpacks or something for your skin.  Four weeks to go is a long time if you are "red" and warm/inflamed.  Please ask, will you???

    Golly Susan/zap --- I think coming here almost makes it imperative that we have feelings for all your so's -- including the as yet un-born.  It is nice having so many wonderful sisters and extended family members.  I mean we are surrounded with marvelous people and yet for the most part we can stay on the fringe most of the time......but of course not when there is a problem.....than the prayers and wellness visualizations have to be put into place. 

    Anyway....I'm going to move on now to the quote.  I am always thinking of all of you....always wanting the best.

    This is something from Gilda Radner ( of Sat. Night Live fame, a long time ago now ) and Laura GTO use to always say......( one of Gilda's famous lines )  " it's always something " and so the minute I saw it.....I thought of Laura.....and of Gilda's book which her husband Gene Wilder saw was finished after she passed away from her BC.  That was in fact the book's title " It's Always Something ". 

    I always wanted a happy ending... Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it without knowing what's going to happen next. Delicious ambiguity.

    Hi everyone.  It's been a long time, I know.   I hope you are all doing well.  It will be almost 3 years for me.    I recently found a lump on my original breast.  Over the implant.  I was sent for an Ultrasound.  The Rad Doctor came right in and said there is somthing definitely there but he thnks its scar tissue from all the surgeries radiation and my last dorsi tram.  He reccomends coming back in 3 months for a recheck.  Just so happened it was time for my one year follow up with the surgeon and I showed him.  He tryed to do a needle biopsy hoping for fluid and had no luck, he said whatever it is it needs to come out.  I had the lumpectomy Thursday hoping for results on Wednesday,  He said its a 50/50 chance.  My oncologist mentioned my Arimidex is not able to get in my chest area and work properly because the implants are preventing the circulation.  Have any of you ever heard of such a thing.  Had I known that I would never have had them put it.  I am so very nervous.  Are there any other ER and PR + that has had it come back?  Thanks for listening.  Love Buddy

    Buddy I would think just having any kind of surgery where they remove stuff compromise blood flow. The BS took more than just breast tissue. I have never heard or read that implants prevent circulation but of course they don't tell us everything. You know my theory though… until I'm told its a problem I assume the best (unless it's that obvious). A friend of mine got a new primary 2 years after her 1st in the other breast. She did the lumpectomy/rads andnow luprin/Arimidex and is doing just fine. We are just at a higher risk to get it again… that's why they watch so closely. I do really hope it's scar tissue. Here's to the glass being 1/2 full… 50% chance it's not breast cancer. Just remember they are not talking mets.

    Thanks girls.  I appreciate it all.  What about reoccurance?  Is there much of it?  I have not heard of any.  I also think the right side is infected again.  Remember that is what happened last time and I lost it.  Its getting red and warm, kinda itchy .  I go back to see him on Wed. so we will see.  I am not running a fever.  If  I start to I will just to to the ER.  Big Hugs to you all

    I hope everyone is having a good week.  It is suppose to be 55 degrees tomorrow (but rainy).  Can you believe that???  Nuts!  I enjoyed the sunshine today on my drive home from NW.  Love those long drives into the city for dr. appointments.

    local recurrence with lumpectomy is higher than MX but survival is the same. I'm guessing because they catch those local recurrences very early before they metastasize.

    Cool Lago......I will get to "read" after all and not bug someone else for what it says.

    Buddy...it has been wayyyyy to long.  I'm sorry to hear about this bump but I do think many get lumps and bumps of one kind or other to deal with when you go cutting around in different places.  I hope it turns out to be some strange scar tissue.

    As I recall.......you had a really difficult time with your infection processes.....I hope you nip that in the bud really quick. 

    I must be dense ---- the tissue over the top of the implant is living tissue....so there must be circulation going on....so I don't quite figure how the Arimidex can't fill all the space in the cells and keep any live cancer cell from being able to enter.  So many people do the implants....it is hard to think all those Arimidex takers are still having that risk.  Anyway.....here's hoping it all goes well.

    I think Gilda died from ovarian cancer.

     Yes Gilda did die from ovarian cancer. Gilda's club  use the phrase "It's always something." Check out Gilda's Club. There are a lot of free resources for cancer survivors.

    Have to share the dream I had last night.  I'll preface it by telling you I spend about 80% of my time traveling. In my dream I was going through TSA security-I put my belongings on the belt of the scanner and set its temperature to 380 degrees (I know weird, but just wait...) when I went to retreive my carry on it was a chicken pot pie!  My first thought when I woke up was-that's ridiculous, you bake pot pies at 350. Surprised
