OK, I was most of the way through a nice long post, lots of pics, and LOST IT!!!!! ARrgghh!!! I hadn't deleted the word page I started it, so I can repost the words, but I just can't take the time to look up and add all the pics again. Good morning, Loungettes! Another 15 minutes of call and I'm free! Sunday was just as crazy as Saturday, but I still managed to get done a bit earlier than usual. The laptop and I are learning to get along (read the laptop is learning that NM is the boss, not it) and the extra speed is wonderful! Got lots of housework to catch up on today, and want to get to the store and get the rest of the pine boards I need to finish the shelves so I can start sorting and putting away fabric and stuff. Got stuff to do, stuff to do and FINALLY, some energy to do them with!!!!!
Scuby--You and DH must be experts in renovation work after 3 houses! I'm just getting started with that kind of stuff, I may have to ask you questions from time to time. I so want to change out the electric range for gas, but I'm afraid it's really expensive to do, so I've never really researched it. Maybe I should do that? Glad you had a good time at the party, sleeping in is truly awesome!Goldie--I've never really looked into the video function, but have it on my phone. I probably could figure out how to grab a screen shot from a video, but I'm a closet photographer. What I need to remember is that I can take pics with the cell phone! I could catch the ice crystal showers if I was at home, I know the spots and the wind direction and can predict them pretty well. I did get 11 plant protectors, thank you very much! I'm going to start seeds in pots this spring and use them to see if I can get a head start on the garden this season. And definitely plan to use them into the fall. I'll remember to take pics and send them to you as I go along!
Mrs. Vino--I don't blame you for having everything taken off and out that you could, the rat ba@tard hiding in mammograms is a frightening thing. One reason that I'm not a huge get-your-yearly-mammogram warrior. I've read about too many women who were diagnoses in spite of clear mammos. While I know it catches many early bc's, it's not all that good at finding the really dangerous ones, like mucinous, or inflammatory, and a few others. Taking pics to your tattoo appointment sounds like a great idea! Like you say, how else will the doc/tattooer (is that a word? The right word?) know what you want? Sounds like Rachel got an earful! Hopefully someone will be able to explain to her was behind all that. It's so hard to be perfect all the time, isn't it?? And you are not page hogging. We don't have a page limit for the thread, so there is no page hogging.
Karen--while cutting back on computer time may be something you need to do right now, don't eliminate it completely. We all want to continue to be a lifeline and support for you. The down part of the ups and downs of life are so hard sometimes. Feeling productive does make one feel better about oneself!DorK--after years of writing in medical records and reading doctor's handwriting, my own handwriting can be atrocious at times. The beauty of the handwriting recognition software is that learns one person's patterns. I can write in cursive, print, scrawl and scribble and the poor thing works hard to translate it into English (or medicalese). Most of us use the same movements of the pen/pencil for letters, words, numbers and symbols and the software picks that up. It's a really neat feature, but I still use the keyboard to type longer things, that is still faster. I experimented with voice recognition a while back and found I could type faster than I can dictate! I'd love having a desk next to you and listen to you at work. I talk to myself a lot, and I'm told that I can be very annoying or very entertaining, depending on the topic. And being crazy is a great way to get through life!

And I hadn't heard of the water walls either, until goldie mentioned them and I looked them up on the website. I had a momentous HTL moment this evening. We went to dinner at our local Elks lodge. Someone stood up and asked for a few moments of silence to remember an iconic community member who had recently died (I did not know her...). After a few moments, he raised his head and said, "amen". Others chimed in with their amens, and out of my mouth popped, BARMEN!!! Luckily, I controlled the immediate fit of giggles raging inside me! Y'all are a terrible influence on me!!!! dH quizzed me on the way home and I couldn't contain it--fessed up and had a good laugh.....when he has me committed, I'm using you all as character references to spring me!!!!
Happy Hump Day to ALL--but, it's late, so probably should be saying have a Terrific Thursday!!! Then we're at TGIF!!! Time flies when you're having fun!!!

Lori, Great minds STILL think alike! I was just thinking yesterday how it would be nice to find some of Junie's posts and share them with everyone here. She always was SO funny, and related true-life events in the most hilarious way. Thanks for the trip down memory lane....omg did I say "trip"? Now I prolly will. She was one-of-a-kind and we were so fortunate to be among her friends.

Well, as neat as it is to hug HUNK, mese tinks he gives us baaaaad luck. My DH won't play craps when he is working that table, and yesterday (after 2 days of winning), I hugged him b4 hitting the machines, and he said "good luck".....well I had the worst day yesterday....lost at both casinos! Hmmmm......might he be to blame???? LOL. He's a pit boss, and he prolly rates us really well, but its not worth losing!! HAd such a fun time in the vip rm at Gold Strkie, Junie's casino. Private handsome Tattie Tender, wunnerful fwee asian food, got to see my movie, front and center. That is UNTIL it got full of dwinking men who talked so loud mese couldn't hear da movie even though it was coming in thru ceiling speakers loudly. Met a german (good looking) young guy who is here working for his company for a few wks...and they put him up in Gold Strike with access to the vip room....what a hard life! Anyway, if anyone saw the Hallmark movie last night, it was mostly filmed nearby....we drive by that tall rocket and Space Center nearly every day. My DD went thru the Space Camp program yrs ago and really loved it.
OK....gotta go have a huge lunch and then hit the road. Will go back to Hollywood and say goodbye to Hunk if he is there today. NIce to see all you LUVLY Loungettes again....missed you girlz! Wow a Banana dwink and an Oh Shit dwink....may have to twy both!!!!

Sounds like the HTL was rockin and rollin last night! We had fun at the German restaurant opening, but most of the menu ain't exactly on the Weight Watchers plan!
Way too much to comment on, and I am starting the day late, went to onco this a.m. Will be switching to anastrozole now that I got the ovaries out. NM, did ask about not taking anything at all, but am going to opt to take it and see how the SE's are. Right now, from ooph surgery - only night sweats and general bitchiness (that prolly ain't an SE though!).
So good to have the HTL filled up with the greatest goils ever! Beans, the pictures are beautiful! So glad you had a nice trip with DH.
Karen - hang in there! Wish there was a magic wand to wave. Just hugs.
DorKy, hope DH sees things better, $ucks when the people we love are hurting.
NM, hope you are having a good day, have fun with the shelves. Swapping electric for gas is pretty straight forward - we had to put a gas tank in at one house, but it was worth it. UCRebel - yeah, I do love the process of going from ugly duckling to swan - our kitchen in one house was mustard, the appliances and countertops (plus brown shag carpet - seriously!!). Like I said, am good at demolition!

Goldie - I Love This Bar! So cool! Thanks for splainin the water walls, wonder if they would work here in the north. We call it "Hoth" this time of year - as in the Star Wars movie, the one on the ice planet, Hoth. The pics were from a day that was overcast, but today is so beautiful and sunny and blue skies - wish I could take a pic of that scene today it would look totally different. We go swimming in Lake Roosevelt in the summer! Great idea to put in Junie's post, that is a great one, and it brings tears to me eyes and LOL about the pee cup. Sure miss that girl and all the dog beers we used to have. Love the puppies and what a great dwink for today, da Dweeeam Monkey!

I was a very happy man.
My wonderful girlfriend and I had been dating for over a year.

HUSKER-Hope you're doing ok after your fall. I'm learning from your drinking experiments,keep it up! GOLDIE-I am an insomniac so 2 is early for me. I can say i've NEVER gone to bed at 6 pm. Even after my BMX the earliest was 11:30 and it just felt so wrong,hahaha. Thank you for posting that last pic of the puppies. They aren't rescues but the parents are. That's how we get most of our animals,feels better than buying from a pet shop or newspaper. BEANS-I just can't get into that green but maybe it was diff back then when it was still shiny and new. But my mom has a pink toilet from that era and it's hideous. Pink and green,I don't think i'll learn to like those colors. DORK-My only experience w/wallpaper was when I was 13. I could help but I can't be responsible for anyone getting wallpapered to the wall. I'm a paint girl,now that's where my talents lay. Well I am going to bed early again tonite. Dad will be here in the morn to work on the doors. If anyone needs to store their gold bars have I got the place for you! Cheers all.

Oh I found my new home here! I love my beer! Doctor did suggest wine but I hate it. Integrative Doctor said light beer, no cans, bottles or keg only if I MUST drink it. Love Mich Ultra, love going out to the pub for happy hour! And I LOVE this thread!

Hey Circles, welcome to de HTL! I am one of the beer chicks who hang here. Wonder why no canned beers? I drink draft beer primarily cause i live in Philly and there are plenty of p,aces near my house. Most of us here chose to drink, choosing quality of life... But you can also drink virtually when ya need to. There is always a laugh to be had! Cheers!
Lori, hope Stella behaves her bad old self! I know she likes visiting you! Yes, that is me and DH on a shark dive in Honduras. Will post it from PC later, stopped to get coffee and the place DorK and I go to, actually got in and out of surgeon appt quick (yay!). All good from ooph surgery, biopsies back clean on what they took out. 2 weeks til 100% and back to life, just in time for Valentine's Day, already emailed DH on that front.
Think the yellow was mustard or wheat or something... NM, if I recall, the install of the gas tank wasn't much, the gas company supplied the tank if we bought their gas, then it was a plumber to run the lines. Cost there varies with how far lines gotta go... I also have a when I win the lottery list! No luck so far.
Mrs_Vino, I went back to read Junie's posts when I first joined the thread, what an awesome spirit, bummed I wasn't on the thread but grateful to all of youse for sharing. I don't usually drink light beer (yeah, I know Circles, but try and counteract it by hitting the gym), but I will have a Miller Light now and again for her!
UCRebel, I am the same way, DH hangs all the wallpaper (which isn't much!), I paint. Kind of relaxing once I have it all prepped. Used to love to work on projects with my Dad, he was great at stuff. Rat Ba$tard took him in 1999... Happy home improving!
Just not too motivated today, feel kind of relieved to be done with all the surgery crapola! Wishing all of youse the best!

Good Twos-Dey Morning Girlz!
For those that didn't get a chance to know our dear Junie, her posts REALLY are awesome. Even when she was fussing about something, she made it sooooooo funny. And her past escapades were priceless and so humorous. She seemed to get into so many "situations"....need we 'splain more? LOL. Sure miss her everyday. When she went into the hospital, she called me from the ER and I was letting all the loungettes know how she was. Well, I was SURE she was coming back here, so I tried to downplay it, but made sure everyone knew she needed prayers, etc. Also I thought she would be back to read the posts and didn't want her to know she was on death's door, so was careful what I said. It was totally heartbreaking to have to tell everyone when her time was ending, and when she passed, dear Lori posted that one for me. I just couldn't do it. Lori and I cried on the phone together...she was in Vegas at the time, and had just had some ML's, for Junie, not knowing it was prolly at the time that she passed. Now our dear angel Junie looks down on the HTL from heaven, and throws in a ball of foil here and there, to surprise us! I made a booklet of ALL the posts from when she went into the hospital...all the posts that were written for her, with prayers, and pictures, and love, to give to her family when I flew in for her funeral. There were SO many posts and such outpouring of love from everyone here...her family really was touched. I gave it to her DH, Bob, and it took her DD Kerry a long time till she was ready to try to read it as she was so overcome with grief. I think they were suprised at how close we all were and how much she meant to all of us. (BTW she has a lovely family, of course!).
NM, YAY you didn't lose all those pics today....such a good post! OH, and on the gas issue, my last home was electric, but there was gas in the neighborhood, so the lines were at the street. I wanted a gas fireplace, and hired someone to just run the line from the road to my house, and it wasn't too expensive. The neighborhood we are in now is all electric, so those with gas have to have the big tank put in. Think we'll stay electric!
OK...confession....back "in the day" when ALL appliances were white (prolly were stainless to being with? Not sure), everyone was ecstatic to FINALLY get to choose appliances in color. Yup, harvest gold, avocado green and coppertone(can't remember that ones name), for your kitchen and laundry room. PLUS, oh yes, harvest gold or avocado green carpet....only the best! LOL. It really did look good "at the time". And I do remember in my teens when shocking pink and lime green were worn together....and now it is popular again...go figure. OH, and get this, anyone with wood floors were not cool....had to cover that wood with carpet. And these were thick wood floors! When my mom put white carpet in her bedroom I was so jealous, as we had wood everywhere else. Boy could we reminisce!!!!
Welcome to any new gals! This is a good place to be. OH, and we both did come home winners...however I gave $200 back to the machines on Saturday....grrrrrrrrrrrr (got that grrrrrr from Junie). ALways good to have free rooms, free food, free likker, AND come home with money. Yay!

Dorkie, Wish I was dere ta halp ya hang da paper on da wall. I am pwetty good at it, as had to do a lot at times. NOT FUN, but can be a big improvement if the old paper is not pwetty.If you want to paper over it, make sure it is ALL attached well, get off the loose areas, sand, patch if needed and BE SURE to either use wallpaper sizing or primer over it b4 re-wallpapering. Another idea is just to get it ALL off and patch and sand walls smooth, and paint. Seems like lotsa gals can help with da painting too! Partay....paint partay....wallpaper partay....woohoo........

Also I havn't wall papers, I like to paint...DH usually does the hard stuff like ceilings and I do the trim detail work and I'm really good at it and I just love doing it if it's good quality paint dat goes on smooooooooooooooooth, like black velvet. Good luck with your doors and how nice of you to store all my gold bars...I was wondering where to put dem.

Ovarian rat b*stard took my mom in '96...that is why da docs say I hab a 10 - 15 % chance of getting ovarian. My mom had BC earlier but she was cured of that and never had a recurrence. The ovarian was a new primary and not a mets. Cancer sucks.
Wahine - So nice for you to talk about our Junie and how much fun she was...she is so missed! I was sure she was coming back too, and I really appreciated all the info you provided so we could pray so hard for her. You and Lori were so helpful to all of us with the information and pictures...she is with us still, as you say, from heaven and you can always tell when you get the foil balls or hear that bar song or whatever. I do think it's hard for others to understand the connection we build here. Some will pop on and just think we are a buncha dwunks. But the truth is, this is a special "how about drinking" place where we can laugh, cry, scream out our frustrations, rant, rave, and get totally rip roaring drunk and have the funnest parties in the whole world! I got in a horrible mood when Junie passed and that made my DH wonder WTF was up wif me. There was no way to esplain or for him to understand what had happened. It hurt really badly to lose her. Thanks for talking about it some more, it helps.
How funny your confession about getting appliances in colors other than white! Some how I remember an ugly brown color in there somewhere too, but that may be just cuz of where I grew up, in central California. Oh yeah, it was harvest gold, not golden rod! Maybe our oven was the coppertone one??? When I was a kid I had the shocking pink and green clothes. I loved it!! So MOD! back then. We had shag carpet installed, that was so cool in the day.

Bernie - great pic of the hair and the puppy's hair! That is what mine has been doing in da mountains here. Dats part of why I twied putting baby oil in it, but that just made me an oily goily. Your pic is perfect for how I've looked all this winter. So arid! I got a book on what I can use and they said to put a small amount of jojoba oil on it. Well I don't hab any jojoba oil, so I try to calm it down with a light body lotion. Man it's been a mess this year!! How funny bout the fiberglass curtains too!
