MDG the sleeve flying thing is controversial if you don't have LE. If you have LE it's a must. For 1 node I'm not so sure I would wear one unless I had symptoms but then again you never  know. I do have LE on the 10 node side. My 4 nodes side does get  heavy feeling at times and I did have cording on that side at one time. I didn't wear it on the way home from Cape Cod and I did feel that arm get a little heavy. I always wear one on my LE arm. I also think I'm predisposed. My  more had LE in her legs for years as did her uncle.

You can read more about it here but you really need to discuss this with your doctors. Personally I think your risk is pretty low and wearing a sleeve might to more harm than good since you don't have LE. I have read even wearing something you get at the sports store might not even be a good idea.

Lemon - that was sweet of your co-worker - the "potty training" follow up just made me laugh out loud at my desk at work.

I was supposed to had rx #14 today but the machine broke.  At least it is a three day weekend off of rx which it probably great for my pink skin!  

Any Peoria area ladies planning on being team captains for the race in May?  They are having a team captain meeting at the office in the Metro Center Thursday at 7:00pm.  Just wondering if I might see any of you there.

Joan we both have a diagnosis of LE and a lot more nodes than MDG had. She just had 2 and doesn't have LE. This is where the controversy is about wearing sleeves if you don't have it. BTW do you wear your sleeve all the time. I do but I still haven't been able to reduce some of the thickness in my lower arm. It's not much bigger but is not flabby like the right arm.

I don't have LE, but I do wear my sleeve and gauntlet whenever I fly.  That change in pressure can cause vascular issues, so I find it very easy to believe that it could also cause issues for anyone with any amount of compromise to their lymphatic system.  I do hate that gauntlet though. 

I'm going to get Xtreme Lash extensions put on in a couple of weeks.  Normally, I wouldn't spend the money on something like this, but my friend in Indiana has them and constantly raves about them. Her DIL is an aesthetician certified in applying them, so she's doing them at a huge discount for me.  I'm not sure if I'll keep them up or not (probably not; it's too pricey), but I'm excited to try them out.  For those who aren't familiar, they are real hair extensions added to your own lashes - one by one - and they last until those lashes fall out on their own.  This can be anywhere from 2 - 4 weeks.  They really look amazing, no mascara necessary.  I used to have great natural lashes, but I swear, after having them fall out 3 or 4 cycles post-chemo, followed by all the years of Femara, they've never been the same.  So, this will be fun for a few weeks.

I have had no LE on the non-cancerous side. The side affected with LE only had 6 nodes removed. My LE PT explained that any woman has between 20 and 60 nodes under each arm. So taking 6 away from me who probably only had 20 to start with (since I am so small???) is far different than taking 6 away from somebody who had 60. I go in spurts with my sleeves. Sometimes the sleeve seems to make it worse so I go without to test that theory. But I always wear the sleeve when flying, cycling, playing tennis and golf and working at my computer. I also go through a series of 15 exercises that I do that my LE PT gave me. Unfortunately, I am having a real difficult time right now with mt Aromasin side effects and my carpal tunnel. Always something. I see my ONC next week so will have lots up for discussion. I have a list!

I finally got my second filling today..I asked how many CC I was and my PS don't worry about that just go until you wanna stop...Is that normal or ok?

Also when having implants does it just change ur cup size ir the whole thing?

I was wearing a 32A so will it go up to 34 or stay 32?

Wow!  The power of social/internet networking.  I am amazed that this whole Komen controversy had a turnabout in less than 48 hours.  Probably would never have happend in the days of snail mail.  I was contacted by about 15 organizations/friends/ relatives by email and then there was facebook!  We truly are in a new world when it comes to communication.  I have to say I loved how this worked and I truly hope that the final outcome on all this will be  beneficial to all men and women who deal with breast cancer in their lives....and frankly that looks like all of us at this time. It seems we all know someone with this disease.

Wendy, Baby Zap is sitting tight.  We are taking it one day at a time.  The monitoring is looking for the heart going out of control fast and thank heavens that is not happening.  It is so odd to me.  They are calling it an abnormal heartbeat, but steady abnormal if you understand me.  It is not spiking up or down erratically.  One doctor called it an abnormal heart rate, but perhaps normal for this little one and that just confuses me more.   Everyone seems calmer.  I have since learned that babies can be born with holes, heart murmurs, etc. and that often these things correct with time or can be fixed with a procedure. I just got so weary of worrying that I am calm now and believe that all will be well.  Thanks you for asking.

Super bowl weekend.  My SIL is a crazy Patriots fan.  Actually I think most all Patriot fans are way too intense, but they most certainly are a good team.  Lago, now that I think of it, you may be a Patriots fan as you too are from Boston.  I am sure you do not get as intense as my SIL. Oh good heavens, I sure hope Baby Zap is not  Patriot fan YET!  We need her serene.

Lisa -- That's what I did with the fills.... I was a B cup before surgery and stayed a B cup .... though I will admit to being differently shaped than before.  I thought I would go a bit bigger but wimped out.....  for the most part the fills weren't that bad, then I had one that was terribly painful, resorted to vicodin for a couple of days  (which I barely took for my BMX, my pain tolerance is pretty high).   At that point I decided that I was done with the fills and settled for the size that I was at the time.   I don't think that there is a right or wrong answer...   as long as you are comfortable with the result.  

I wish I could make lunch next week, but I have plans already on Thursday and Gurnee is a bit far for me.  Have fun!

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend.... I feel like it's a bit of a vacation, had THREE activities for the kids cancelled this weekend... no soccer, no basketball, no youth symphony.  What will I do with all this free time?  

Oh Susan, as a native Bostonian, I count myself as a Patriot fan.... but didn't realize until earlier this week exactly WHO was playing in the Super Bowl, that's how bad a fan I am!  Always fun to root for the hometown team, though in two years I will have lived in Chicago longer than I lived in Boston, so where do I call home from a sports perspective?  I will always favor the Bulls over the Celtics, but will still prefer the Red Sox over any other baseball team, since I could literally look at the Citgo sign over Fenway Park from my house......

Had appt with onc yesterday. Oncotype scores were 16 and 17, no clear decision on treatment. More tests, then hopefully something.

Received sleeves and gauntlets for both arms, have to practice putting the sleeves on...

Back to work on Tuesday.
