OMG!!! The itching is driving me crazy..I have a rash from when they put the port in..
When do you take the nausea meds? everyday?
0 -
Lisa -- they will give you a well defined schedule of meds to take for the 2 to 3 days after chemo. Some of the anti nausea meds were provided in the IV drip for chemo. I had to keep resetting the clock on my cell phone to remember to take the meds, and I bought those pill organizrers from Walgreens so I didn't get mixed up.
I took the meds they suggested religiously, even the steroids, which I hated. I never had nausea, not a bit, and was very grateful that the meds worked so well.
Hope that helps!

Happy Sunday to all....hope you all had a wonderful day. Spent the day with family, eating and drinking all day. We had our Feb birthday celebration. All 10 of them. My ds cooked a fab dinner, my dd brought yummy cupcakes from More cupcakes bakery in the city and mil made the pizza. Now I am stuffed and sitting here. Tomorrow I will run it off. lol I am so excited to have a play day...no school for me.
Lisa,,,hope you are feeling better soon. Do you have tape over your port. You may be allergic to the tape. I would let your md know about it.
Zap...how is baby doing? are you done subbing now and get to play too.
Lisa...how are you doing.
Hope everyone else is doing well.....now to clean up....where is that darn kitchen clean up fairy.lol

I have what looks like glue

Oh Lisa....I am sorry you have that rash. I was allergic to some of the tapes used. My skin itched and even blistered. I would call tomorrow and discuss it with someone and see what they suggest. I was miserable too and it really hurt after a while.

hair loss and shampoo
My hair was thin but with arimidex and zometa infusions for 2 years every 6 months...it had been falling out fast....
Lately I realized that the generic arimidex makes it seem to fall out more or I'm noticing more hair than in the past months of taking full fledged arimidex.
I ran across someones Nioxin for thin hair, recommended by a beautician for his balding head..and I tried it and all of a sudden I felt my hair seemed thicker. the bottle said 50 percent or 80 percent of people see a difference. it's something about it makes the hair shaft get wider or something...worth a try perhaps, unless it's chemically not healthy which very well could be. Me, I'm just using up allt he shampoo in the house, might take me years! The bad thing is now I feel i need a trim. chuckle

Good morning....sun is out ( hooray ) and it will get up to 51 today. Summer is back. Warm coming for a couple more days too. So far--so good with the winter only teasing us once in a while. Hope it doesn't do anything strange at the last minute.
Kater....so interesting about the generic Arimidex. I may look into that shampoo......can't hurt and my hair is so thin and fine anyway. Glad I have what I do....though a thick, curly head of hair was one of the ways I got through chemo ( sigh ) and then it didn't show up. I had read about that shampoo somewhere else and forgotten about it.
Hope you are going to all have some of this wonderful sun....and some Northern warmth too.
See you later.
Hugs, Jackie

I am bummed that I won't be able to join you ladies. But I have a really good reason. This is the weekend that I will be going to Disney to join my sister and run in the 5K Royal/Princess Race. I will have pictures to post as I am meeting up with another BCOer from the Daily Fitness Thread who will also be there.
Have a great time all!

How crazy is it that it was winter this morning, and now it's back to looking like early spring? Not complaining though,
Sorry I can't make it to dinner either. I'm just finishing up work, then I have to go home and finish packing. Leaving for Ft. Lauderdale in the morning, will get on a cruise ship Thursday. Going with two of my oldest friends who are helping me celebrate being DONE with surgeries and hormonal therapy. Can't wait to lay on my balcony overlooking the Caribbean with a tropical drink in hand! Probably just one though, then I'll need a nap! Lol, I'm such a lightweight drinker.
Have a wonderful dinner, it sounds like a big group!0 -
Rene....what fun. A wonderful way to celebrate being through with this last round of surgery as well as the "pills". Have a really wonderful time. Have one of those nice drinks for me....not the same day your having yours though.

Morning....as I'm sitting here looking out on a bright, bright sun outside. Hope it stays as I'm ready. It has been warmish the last few days, but not enough sun to go along with it.
Onward/Adey -- too funny. So....when I saw the quote I naturally just thought it was perfect.
Hope you all enjoy "lunch" and please don't forget a camera. That way....we all get a chance to be there.
Happy everything to everyone.
Hugs, Jackie

Well, it appears the time has come-I've been enjoying my poinsettia from our holiday lunch for all this time, but it's finally looking a bit spent and I'm afraid it has to go.
