Alllison, I cant imagine having the anticipation and making all the plans for surgery to have it cancelled..that sux..I get so frustrated sometimes with the lack of consideration. Its not like they are treating an ear infection for cripes sake...I hope they are able to reschedual you soon so you can it it over with.
Bernie..I agree with Juliet on the time release meletonin...the zanex addtion may not be a bad idea also if you have some...Just the thought makes my lids start to close.
Hello Native Mainahhhh....dont think we have met..Im Cyndie...I Lived most of my adult life in Maine...havent been back in about 5 years tho..maybe this summer after surgery and a bit of recovery time ...Ive been enticed by Lobstah and fiddleheads and I think August is the perfect time to go to take in some Moosie sightings up at Rangely...Where are you in "vacation land"?

Ohoh...before I forget..anyone with any skin lotion solutions??? OTC that you can find at a Walgreens, CVS or Walmart...Im starting to get really sore and looks like my skin is beginning to do some funky things...I've been using aloe and now Aquafor.

Cyndie, was hoping that someone would chime in on the Her2! Anyways, it is part of your diagnosis, and it is either + or - just like the ER PR. Positive Her2 is more a more aggressive type cancer. It is a protein, and when there is too much of it, hence Her2+, it causes cancer cells to grow faster. Looks like you and NM could possibly get to meet some day? I was going to suggest the same thing that Juliet did. ASK. My skin broke down real bad, I had 3 or 4 different creams to use (not at the same time) Atrac-Tain Cream, Derma Gran -B, Silver Sulfadiazine Cream USP.....to name a few! Perhaps NM can offer some suggestions as well.
Well, I have been eaten up by no see ums. OMG, they are just horrid. I have at least a dozen bites on my face, head and neck. They itch something terrible and then welt up. I have one just below my eyelid and the out corner of the same eye. Looks like someone has been beating on me!

2 oz Blue Curacao
2 oz Triple Sec
6 oz Smirnoff Black Ice
Place some ice in a highball glass. Add the UV. blue curacao and triple sec. Top with Smirnoff. and serve.

Oh Lori, LMAO at your comment to Bernie that now she might be on our time zone....that was soooooo neat! Yeah, my parents go back to Hawaii next Thurs. My mom *wants* to paint, but seems to forget. Whenever I see her or talk to her, she mentions wanting to finish her large paintings, but then she forgets. I wish she had not taken one off the wall that she *finished* last trip....she wasn't happy with the waves, but now it looks worse. Hope she remembers how to fix it. She was such an accomplished painter, it is hard to see her struggle with it. They have been much happier being back here...I think at their ages traveling just takes too much out of them. But they both keep saying what a great trip it was, so with all the stress and problems, I am glad they are remembering the good stuff. Yeah, we leave for Vegas in less than 3 wks. I think DH may go to Tunica this week or next....gotta keep the ratings up so the perks continue!
Yeah, I agree with Juliet and Cyndie....I use the ER Melatonin also. Just 5 mg usually works for me. One of the loungettes told me about the ext release, and it does seem to work better.

Looks like a nice sunny day today....yay....have had SO much rain! Worked in my "office" room till 2 am, but think I made more of a mess!! SO much stuff to go through, and I am finding things i fogot I had. Bonus! LOL. WHen I saw my g'kids yesterday, got to see the new dollhouse my 7 yo g'dau just got....from an estate sale. It is old, but soooo neat; very big, 2 staircases the dolls can "walk" behind even...it is lighted too, has huge porch with porch swing, etc. It is as tall as she is, and very wide. When my oldest DD was 6, I was making a 2-story doll house for her (not as big as this one though!), and to be able to work on it in front of her, I told her it was for her cousin, in another state. SO she even helped me, but you could tell she was envious. Imagine her surprise when I gave it to HER!!! She still thinks that was a good idea I came up with, and still has it too. Although she really still loves it, I sure wish I could have given her one as huge as her DD just got....it is sooo awesome!
OK, bwing on da dwinks Pants! Dis island beach we ended up on is so wunnerful.....like a deserted island except for all of us. How they are making all dose dwinks wid da fresh ice is beyone my comprehension! OH YEAH, that is the magic of the HTL!!! Dwink up girlz, and lets get some good sunscreen on....don't wanna burn! I would love to make some of these delish looking drinks you recomend Lori...I dont have any liquor in the house..Just wine..that I collect because I like the bottles ..and beer. I may have to make a project out of collecting liquor ..they have some great bottles also. I will have to ask about the HER2...I dont recall it being mentioned ..although there is sooo much info given I may have missed it along the way...My DM may know..she goes to all my appts with me and takes notes....I'll have to ask...

Good afternoon, Loungettes! Just got home from a boring meeting and a meeting with the supervisor. I got a written warning for not being at every meeting, not doing enough visits on the weekends, doing too many Hospice visits on the weekends, and because a visit got missed a couple weekends ago because I didn't call the nurse I assigned the visit to and tell her to check her schedule. I can't go off weekends until I do this job "satisfactorily." In other words, I am screwed, because one super says I need to do a total of 7 or 8 visits a day, the other says I have to do 9 scheduled visits, not counting the on call visits. Making every single meeting means almost never having a full day off and calling and checking to see if any meetings have been scheduled at the last minute that I need to now about. In other words, I need to find another job, ASAP. And I'm not the only one looking, I found out today.
I was going to do try to play ketchup today, but right now I am just so frustrated, and have to make a whole bunch of phone calls to change medical appointments so I won't miss any meetings over the next few weeks. Hmmm, maybe it's time to play the cancer card, and point out that under ADA they have to make reasonable accomodations for my apointments and such. Arrggh,I just want the world to go away for a while.
Jocks, my dear, can I have a big mug of whatever the DOTD is today? Or was yesterday? Or whatever you want to make for me today? I'd appreciate it!

Kathy, I hope you are over painting with mom! I know you will be sad when they leave, but I bet they will be back soon, right? At least for your cruise, but I dunt member when that is. No-See-Ums are like a gnat. I have itch medicine, prescription stuff even, but I don't dare use anything near my eye! I read that vanilla might keep them away, so I am going to try that and those that I know who take garlic pills, they don't seem to get bit as much.
NM, I am so sorry for all the crap and the way they are treating you. Here we thought this was going to be your calling, I remember how happy you were to get this job and get out of the teaching. I hope you find something soon. Relax and throw back some DOTD's...........and oh how appropriate for you! Blue Insanity!!!!! Well we have my bedroom all prepped. My bed is disassembled, the furniture is covered, outlet covers and smoke detector plate is off and ready to paint. My sister is great in keeping me organized, she tails me what to do next. She is just the most awesome help to me, I could not do this without her. I painted the interior of my former two homes myself but I was much younger and in better shape then. This outta be fun.
NM, sending you more hugs. So sorry that you are being treated this way. You have enough stress to deal with lately without your employer whipping on you.

LMFAO Dorkable....bring your own paint brush!!! You know how to cover all the bases! (Thats bases, not baseboards!). Hope things are still going well..you have a gem of a sister, thats foah shuah! As for me, mine did not turn out today.....but dats ok, as my mom was working on her painting, and thats the main thing. BUT she stopped early and sat down and kept talking to me so I couldn't paint (hmmmmm.....at least I have an excuse now...LOL)...so I told her we needed some wine. Ha! We drank the bottle dry. SO when I go back to paint again, if I can't fix what I was trying to paint, will just paint over it and start something else!
Lori, that was smart mentioning that something could have happened, if Alli had been able to go through with the surgery.....nice thought that things happen for a reason. I tell ya though, I sure have NOT figured out how any good came from my DH dying, so young. Maybe someday (hopefully) I will get to "see the light" and God will give me the wisdom to understand that. I do feel I will "see" him again some day, though. Yeah, back to what you said, when we have a delay somewhere, and then later an ambulance goes by, or we pass a wreck, then I am so thankful we were delayed and not a part of that. SO yes, maybe a blessing in disguise that Alli was not able to have surgery this week.
OK, I did have all that wine, but heard some scary news about my g'kids today, and hopefully my g'son will be ok, but a bigger guy put him in a choke-hold that seemed to have popped his neck, and made his nose bleed. BUT the dr thought he didn't need to see him for a couple of days, so hoping he will really be ok! PLUS a man tried to pick up my g'dau's friend today, at the same park. What is this world coming to??? I need annuder dwink.......Pants! Jock!

As for the loss of your DH, that is one that I don't think happened for a reason, at least not one that you would ever figure out, I certainly would not EVER be able to understand that. That is horrible news about your g'son and your g'daughter's friend. As for your g'son, I think I would have taken him to the hospital and thoroughly checked out, unless it is not as bad as it sounds. But neck popping and nose bleeding sounds pretty serious to me.

Oh Bernie, that is HORRID. Cannot imagine how anyone could do that, and he was a gentle, kind, person. I think more men are abused by women than would admit it; it is a problem that seems mostly hidden. Wonder if she had been mean to him before this, or just "snapped"? I am so very sorry. Yes, will be praying for his family. I still cannot get over that Saturday NIght Live comedian that was murdered by his wife a few yrs ago, with kids in the house. I think she was on drugs, but I just can't understand anyone doing that. So sorry for your loss, and the loss his family and other friends are feeling. ((((Bernie))))
Yeah Lori, right away I figured "paint brush".... I mean I have one in my hand several times a week! Love peanut butter too though, and what a yummy cocktail!! My DD called the dr right away, and they said from how it sounds, it may be ok, but hard to tell with the inflammation, and better to get the inflammation down some before he is checked out. Prolly cuz he had no other symptoms.....but yes she is watching him VERY carefully. Said one of the hardest things to do was get all the people AWAY from him, so she could have some space and air around him. Someone wrote on her FB page how she was amazed that my DD was so calm and controlled. Thanks for everyone's concern!!! I will keep everyone updated when I know more.

Julie..the underwear thing is funny..we use the phonetic alphabet all the time at my job so I've learned the correct coresponding words however what some people come up with is really hilarious sometimes...or they get stuck on a letter not being able to think of a word...so will say the letter over and over U..U as innnnnn......U like...ummmm...by that time you got it.
Lori..not big on the peanut butter but that drink looks yummmy and and like a diabetic coma for moi..so i'll have to live vicariously thru the rest of you on that one.

I did not finish my bedroom, ended up packing it up at 3am since I was at a point where I needed to get my bed made and was very tired. I slept until 1pm today, ahhh the beauty of a day off. It is gorgeous here today - I would love to hang by the pool but am getting ready to get back to my paint job. I love the color and can't wait to have the room put back together.
