Good Morning, Loungettes! I'm in a mood to celebrate. Yesterday I took Sadie for a walk for the first time since the asthma attack and I SURVIVED! I must have looked like an idiot getting ready, making sure I had my inhaler in one pocket, my cell phone in another, the iPod in a third. Didn't get very far compared to what I was doing, but further than I thought I would. So now no more excuses not to take my walks. Also got a bunch of job applications sent out yesterday, found some really interesting sounding jobs, too. Now is the time to sit back, pray and trust God.
Wahine--as far as the bone scan results go, it was fine 2 years ago, and I'll be done with arimidex in October anyway, so I really don't care when I get the results. I was a little surprised not to get a copy of the results like I did last time, but now the facility is charging for copies of all results and records, so I should have expected it. If something is really wrong I'm trusting someone will call and tell me (yes I know that is a foolish thing to do). But overall, I just don't really care enough to make the phone call. Next week may be a different story, of course!
Thanks to all of you for the words of appreciation and support, it means the world to me. I've spent a lot of time thinking over the last couple of days and realized that many patients and families have expressed appreciation for my work, and that is what is important. Meeting patient and family needs is more important than meeting productivity and management expectations. While I'm job hunting I can, and will, continue to provide the level of care my patients and families deserve and will do my best to meet the other expectations after that. It'll work or it won't, that's up to God now. BTW, one requirement of any new job is that I have most, if not all, Sundays off so I can go to church again. Thanks to all of you for helping me stay focused on the truly important things!
Mrs. Vino---A beach weekend--how wonderful!!!!! I know we like to have fun here, but the fukitol fountain is always stocked and ready and a good excuse to stop in. There's always a shoulder, a crying towel, company for the screaming room, sympathy and support here. Good for you for taking DD out of school and taking the weekend off! Check in (briefly) to let us know you arrived safely, then enjoy!!!!!

Cyndy--I work a weekend job (for the time being) so I can relate. Would you believe that I have never dug fiddleheads? Never seemed to go without, either, so I guess I wasn't too terribly deprived! Juliet--they pay us to go to meetings, too, it's just annoying to be expected to never miss a single one. We can get excused, but that means explaining to the super why, which means I have to tell her about every medical appointment I have and why it can't be rescheduled to another date/time. While the bc isn't a secret, I don't appreciate having to give the treatment details to the super all the time. Anyway, lesson learned, and I'm checking off the "do you have a disability" box on the applications I send in from now on. And I LOVE Maxine's view on the world!!!! And a sincere thank you for the prayers.
Chrissy--anesthesia brain is a pain, isn't it? The news about Bernie's friend is hard to hear, isn't it? Some things are just not right and that is one of them. We're all praying for Bernie, her friend and his family.

This is such a difficult situation for those of us down here to cope with, especially for Bernie, who knew them both. None of us understand Your motives and all of us would like to, very much, at times like this. Since I know that won't happen, can I ask You to be with Bernie, her friend, and his family? Princess Glitter Sizzle's DOTD is the Life's a Beach
1/4 oz Banana Liqueur
3/4 oz White Rum
1 1/4 oz Irish Cream
(Top Off) Banana
1 splash Cream Dairy
2 scoops Vanilla Ice Cream
1 1/2 oz Pina Colada MixDirections

Morning loungettes, didn't get to deliver a hug, DorKy had to be at the hospital at 6 am. Unfortunately, the only sleep I get is 4-7 am usually. But am in my office and can see the hospital building. Saying prayers it all goes well, so glad you are all here in Philly with DorK. Her DD is with her.
Bernie, am saying prayers for your friend's family and friends. My husband and I had a friend die at the hands of his girlfriend's ex boyfriend, it was awful.

Yes Mema, mese iz a fiddlehead too. You know what else I did, me of all people! Had a customer send me a copy of what she wanted to order, so I could figure shipping for her (she is in Canada). Well I couldn't open the file, so I went online to find a program that would open it. Found a program, downloaded it, only to figure out it is something that infects your computer with an adware or malware. After I logged off here and got my shower, went to turn my puter back on, well it wouldn't come on! Toopid toopid me, of all people, I should have known better. Well I was able to bix it, and then did a search on the program, sure enough "DON'T DOWNLOAD THIS". Oh I do think I see you on the map. Way ober on da right, wif da red dress and MS on the front. And I think NM in a poyple dress above you and Beans below you in a red dress (or Bernie), jes like youse.

I don't eat fiddleheads raw, but some people do. I've never had any leftovers, so I've never frozen any. Probably works, though!

Good Morning Lougettes...been tinkin bout Dorty all mornin hopin she is restin cumfortablee now and we here someting from her later tonight or wen she is feelin up to it.
NM...thank you so much for the offer of frozen fiddleheads but not quite sure they would make it down here without thawing out and dry ice is just too much trouble to ask. I am as close to 100 percent sure Im visiting at the beginning of August. Some buddies of mine picked 15lbs this year and have already blanched and frozen them. They tried to can them one year but that didnt work out so well...too mushy..also tried pickeling...also failed. I've never had them raw either. Dont think I will try that...haha. We will fo sho have to hook up in August for some (spiked) coffee.
Good luck on your job search. I hope you find something where you are apreciated and where they dont mandate you to attend every stinkin meeting.....Lori, I am close to 75 percent certain I will be visiting Phoenix in the Fall....it is dependent on a couple of small details that I hope become clear in the months to come. I would love to set aside some fun time with ya...I was a bit isolated when I lived there and didnt really get out all that much especially the last couple of years so I only have a couple of "must see" people. Sue,..I've heard mention of 50 Shades of Gray and I actually believe I've seen it at the store..I'll have to check out the video .. i've been reading a decent enough book but it doesnt have me rivited like the last few I read.

My g'son should be ok....thanks for everyone's concern! Stil stiff neck and loss of motion, but got some exercizes to do, so am hoping he will be 100%, soon. My DD does not even know if that big guy's mom even knows what he did. She's trying to think of a non-threatening, gentle way to mention that, just to make sure his parents will be aware of what he is capable of.
HUgssssss ebberyone! Getting lots of stuff priced for DD's yard sale tomorrow..looks like I will be doing a lot of it too....so gotz to git back ta work.
