Good morning!!!

I have had this in before.....but when they turn up again.....they are so real that I feel compelled to share them over on the chance that they will reasonate just as much to you too.
Choose Inner Peace.
Nothing is worth losing your inner peace.
Take action as circumstances require,
but never surrender your inner peace.
Stop. Breathe deeply.
Close your eyes and breathe deeply again.
Then, and only then, take action -
from a peaceful heart.

Brrrrr, got down to 49 degrees during the night....house was chilly this morning. Only going to 70 today. Well, at least the cooler temps will help with the outside work we need to do this week-end, but this isn't exactly what I was expecting. Probably coolish up North too.............good the power walking and jogging . Hope you all have a grand Friday. I sincerely hope today is the day that all of you are able to find something that works well for those hives.
Hugs, Jackie

Lago: I'm not in Melrose Park, but River Forest, next door. Is there something I can help you with?0
-
Too late I'm back from my appointment.

How was the most super special derm doc?
I ran a mile today.

Go Adey!!! Good job!

She was nice. Basically she took a sample from under my nails. We need to see if it's yeast. If yes she can help me. If no then I'll be wearing Sesame St. on my nails at all time
I hope it is but I have my doubts. She did mention she has a patient with a similar issue and it wasn't yeast. I need to call her in 2 weeks to find out.Speaking of exercise this is fun: Interactive Exercise Finder
Yay Adey one mile! I've been bad about aerobic this week. Been doing my strength training but missed 3 days of aerobic.

I'm on C25K week 4 but I've been doing it on my treadmill so I decided to take it outside. So I'm very happy. Walked to the mile marker, jogged to the next, then walked/jogged back home. I am considering it workout 2.

My legs were not happy about walking downtown with Chuck Taylors, mild shin splints.

That seems so wrong. They should be walking shoes
0 -
Right!? Apparently my feet need some soul, I mean sole, man!

Hi Adey, I am so happy to see that you are running.. you go girl. I bought a pair of shin splint leg socks and I swear I do not have any more shin splints. Also I was running in the wrong type of shoe that was not good for me. I am coming down to UIC Medical Center tomorrow for a running seminar. Anyone want to join me. It is free.
Gotta run just a quick hi to all.

You ladies are such an inspiration: running, walking, weight training!!! I know I mentioned it a week or so ago but I really need to get out there and start walking - regain some strength before surgery 7/5. I know it will sneak up on me so fast. I finished my last AC yesterday and school is out Wednesday morning. I have no more excuses so THANK YOU for your inspiration!!!

C-squared, I bet you are relieved to have finished the last AC. Still be gentle on yourself because you've got to recover from it. But walking whenever I could made chemo recovery better. Seemed to help clear the fog from the brain and the toxins from the body.
You must be so happy! That was the only one I looked forward to.

Lago-hope the derm can fiugre it out and get it cleared up.
Adey-way to go!!!!!!
I did not exercise at all this week-I'm going to try to do better next week.
Any one going to Mai fest or sausage fest downtown this weekend? The Hyde Park (57th st. ?) is this weekend, too. I love Chicago festivals.

We might go to the 57th St art fair. We go every year although last year was a bit disappointing. Because of the economy there were fewer artists. Thanks for reminding me.0

Yes, doxie, I am ecstatic!!! Wanting to do the happy dance and all that good stuff. Just not feeling the love yet. I had also mentioned last week that this would be my last treatment this week and didn't get alot of response. Not sure if I'm on the right thread.., all of you are so much further ahead! And that is the main reason I am here (aside from being an IL girl), for your wisdom and experience, the confidence knowing there is alot of good information to be found here. And I thank you all for geting me through to this day that I thought may never come! Forward march!

Hey C..
When do u go walking? I work from 9.30-6 so my time is limited during the week but would love to work out with you...0 -
Ladies need to know hat kind of questions to ask my oncologist on Monday. This is our first meeting after the last chemo...

C-Squared here's your happy dance: linky
Lisa I actually didn't have any questions to ask my onc because I had done so much research (I had over 2 months by the time I did surgery & BMX including scans). She gave me the exact treatment I expected. The other thing is I'm not sure how they treat DCIS stage I. I always thought DCIS was stage 0 unless you had nodes involved or spread outside the ducts (and then it would be IDC not DCIS). DCIS can be a bit tricky. I would ask some of the gals in the DCIS forum how they were treated. It is not unusual for DCIS to be HER2+.
also you can google it:

I'll be at the 57th St Art Fair today. My favorite potter didn't show up last year. I live close enough to walk. Looking for a necklace to accent the short haircut I'll be wearing at least until ESDs are finished. From all the recent research that may be til the end of my lifetime. Still can't stomach the thought of pierced ears. Must be from going up on a farm and fearing the earrings would be janked out of your ears. No one had them.
PM me if you want to meet up, though I'm leaving early this am. Don't mind going again to see someone later today or on Sunday.
C-squared, I'm sorry you felt neglected. I think many of the members here were really disturbed by the news of Wendy going into hospice. I sometimes leave responses to others. I will try to do a better job. I think you are in a great forum for help. I followed along with chemo and rad forums while I was getting treatments. They were too chatty for me and because I'm not a chatty person, I felt excluded from the "club" when I posted. This is a more inclusive group of members, though we sometimes fall down on helping those who seem to be doing well in their treatment.

Thanks doxie & lago, though not sure I wanted to do the happy dance alone.
I have followed along other forums but have found this one to be much more informative because of the wealth of experience here. All of you have been very helpful in addressing my questions and I am grateful for that. Based on some of the friendships I have seen develop, I thought there was a chance for that as well. At the same time, I am not alone. I have wonderful family, friends and neighbors - they just don't "get it" like you ladies do.Lisa, I am usually home by 4:00 and after next Wednesday my schedule is extrememly flexible (school hours). You mentioned earlier that you work in Waukegan. Can I ask which part?

C-squared I didn't feel much like dancing till about 5 weeks PFC. Save that song for the future. You will be dancing! So your next "fun" is watching your hair return. It's about as fast as watching paint dry during a humid summer… at least it feels that way.
BTW just be warned. Many of us got this white peach fuzz all over our face, ears, etc. It goes away. 0 -
Chicago ladies I'm looking for a recommendation to a top plastic surgeon out of University of Chicago or Loyola. So far I have received Dr. Peter Geldner and Dr. Song.
I had a bilateral MX with reconstruction 5 months ago. 3 surgeries later due to complications in part from my current surgeon I will not allow this guy to open me up again for two more surgeries as he wants to. Time to move on and go to the best to fix this before it's too late.
Let me know if you have any good referrals and thank you!0 -
Hey everyone! Thanks for all your good thoughts and prayers. I made it thru my corrective surgery without the back flap. I was so relieved! I am back home after promising to do absolutely nothing this weekend. They sent me home in a huge compression wrap that has to stay in place until Monday when I go back to the PS for a check-up. I have one less drain! It's small victories isn't it!
I hope everyone else is doing well.

Invisible-Yay!!!!!!! Now take it easy.
Bogie-PM'g you.

Adey-if I don't find a comfortable bra soon, they won't be spunky much longer

Good morning ladies, I hope everyone is doing well.
Invisible - I am so happy about your news! Take it easy, I know from myself that taking easy is the hardest part of recovery.
Lago - really peach fuzz! I finally got rid of my mustache (I am Greek)!
C-squared, I am so happy for you!
Bogie - I don't know of any plastic surgeons, I do have a friend who is a plastic surgeon in Park Ridge, I will try to contact him and ask if he knows of anyone.
Have a wonderful day. Many hugs to all of you!
