I hear ya, Roula.  Plus, I have a horrible reaction to the taxotere (they had to put me on oxygen as soon as they infusion started).  Not to mention they had to poke me 7 times this past round just to get a vein.  Again, I am looking forward to it being over, but not looking forward to it.  Counting the days........

Corinne, Ruthbru and Adey - I should be able to make it.

Camillegal - I remember you posting here, I think.  But like Ruthbru, I've run into you elsewhere.  I thought I was on the wrong Forum when Ruthbru posted here!

Woooow! I am hopelessly behind in reading along with this chatty group. Welcome to Diane and Terry and any other new gals that i may have missed. I guess you already know what a great group this is.

I am really feeling well recovered from my lat flap surgery and back to doing pretty much anything that my darn back will allow. My spine surgery is still scheduled for July 13th and I am doing my best to stay healthy until then. I had my final Pre-op visit with my spine surgeon last week. I appreciate his brutal honesty about the procedure and recovery process, but the whole process has me more worried than my BMX. I think I am just more informed this time and have had more time to think about it. Ignorance is bliss, right?

I would love to be able to join the get together on July 20th, but you will have to take pics and share. Westie, I was seriously thinking of going to the Vegas gathering this year but, maybe next year.

This cooler weather has been wonderful and I have been able to get in lots of biking. Have to keep this old body in shape before getting sidelined again. My week is filled with lots of PT and a trip back down to NW on Friday for my Pre-op physical and back brace fitting. Hope everyone has a good week moving along this journey. Onward, I am up for lunch at Magiono's anytime before July 13th.

For those of you going through chemo now....I know it's hard.  You will be in a better place when it's done.  Take it one treatment at a time....Hugs!

Kcshreve... There is an excellent LANA certified PT by NW. If I lived in the city, I'd be there in a minute. She is supposed to be excellent to work with. I will send you a PM with her contact info. Fortunately, I have found a new great LANA PT closer to home.... Still 45 minutes away, but well worth the drive. I start a series of several appointments with her today. Thank God for A/C in the car. Not sure how we (old enough to remember) grew up without it.

Hi all~ Does anyone know of an organization that would allow donations of left-over medications:  Zofran and Dexamethasone?  I know there are strict rules about this but thought I'd check before I chuck 'em..., can't say I'll miss them!  Laughing

C-squared I do believe it's against the law to give drugs prescribed to you to someone else. OMG I have so many I need to dump. Thinking maybe the pharmacy will dispose of them for me. I didn't take any drugs other than the antibiotics. Got pain killers too.

I have lots of leftover drugs too. Most of them are over two years old now and not sure what their shelf life is. I think someone mentioned that your ONC may be able to pass them on to other patients who do not have good insurance coverage. Not sure that would be legal either, but I know the environmentalists don't want them in the land fills. Some communities recently held a "turn in" event for drugs like Chicago does for guns. Maybe that's where they got the idea!

    Hi ladies,

As always I'm rushng here and there on these sun-shiney days and loving every minute of it.  I made it a point to stop in today and welcome Renee53 and Terry.  We are nearly neighbors!  I am in Bloomington  and Renee is in Springfield.  I assume Terry must be close to Springfield since she asked about that area.  Welcome, welcome.  Come and visit us often and tell us some more about yourselves.

Renee....one thing that I've added to my diet is green tea.   I drink a cup or two everyday.  It has great anti-oxidants in it and we all need those.  Like you, I'm trying to do more fruits and veggies and eliminate sugar from my diet.  That's my real downfall and I have to really work hard at that.  Yes, I do worry about it coming back but as time goes on, I do better between my check-ups and then get the real anxiety attacks the week before.  I've never been able to eliminate that anxiety before the onc visit .......no matter how hard I try.

BJ.....great job on the Marathon.  I admire your stamina and drive.  I'm struggling with the walking routine, but I'm getting out there in the mornings before it gets too hot and going my 3 miles now.  It would be so much nicer if I had someone to walk with.  That would make me more accountable on days that I'd really prefer to "skip" and would make the walk go faster.  Anyway, you go, gal!  Your pictures on FB looked wonderful!

Well, I'm off to play in the Tuesday Evening Golf League!  I hope everyone had a good day.

    Rita

If you live in Chicago, the Chicago Police Department takes drugs.Foot in mouth  When I went to report my catalytic converter thefts, there was a drop off box in my station.  You just toss them into a large metal box.  Certainly best for out of date drugs.  Maybe your pharmacist knows what to do with current drugs.

Rita -- it's fate ( which I actually don't truly believe ) as I was giggling a little with your descriptions of feeling you'd have stronger inclination to do what you should if you could find someone to partner up with and I ran across this.....probably five minutes later now.  Enjoy:

    Good morning ladies,

I had AC #2 last Thursday and halfed my dexamethosone and still crashed on Tuesday after chemo. Think it's the steroids, but at least I know to expect it.

I had the port put in last Thursday too, so the infusion went smoothly.

I laughed though, since I'm being precautionary and iced my toenails and fingernails during infusion. I think the nurses and I know my sister were laughing at me, but thought what the heck, if it saves my nails!

I woke up Wednesday morning and the first thought the Lord put in my heade was, maybe you'll be the 1% that doesn't loose your hair...and you chose to cut off your 15" without trusting me. Yikes! I got nervous until my ONC said its much less than 1%...everyone on AC loses their hair. But it Day 21 from first infusion and I'm not losing anywhere on my body yet. Did I jump the gun cutting my hair?

The hardest adjustment for me has been the sleepless nights. If I get 4 hours I'm lucky, so just got a prescription for Restoril, which has some crazy side effects, but I'll use it if I need too.

Hope you all have a beautiful restful day.

Sounds like we are definitely going into tripe digit temps.  Not until tomorrow....but won't be too nice today either.  Glad though that it hasn't rained yet ( no matter how bad I think we really need it ) as the humidity would be so bad with the high temps.

I've filled up wading pools for the dog yard.  Plenty of shade there.  Sure glad of that.  If I wasn't working I'd just bring them in.....despite the pandemonium, but dh is gone to S. Dakota this week......so no one here to chaperon.

Karen....a grand finale tomorrow.....yay.  Rads should be a real piece of cake.

Hi to Corinne.....nice to see you popping up again.

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday.

    Hugs, Jackie

Grace I had about 3 treatments and I still had a full head of hair---so one night I went to scratch my head and a handful came out and a couple of days later another hndful--so I called my dgtr and had her cut and shave my head. I didn't really care tho. LOL

Jackie, I need info on the chocolate also. You can PM me, please. I have been looking for cold pressed and can't find it anywhere.

Stay cool, everyone. Except for a trip to my LE PT tomorrow, I am staying home by the A/C. Going to get all my potted plants watered down this evening. Poor things are baking.
