Wow, it's going to be crazy hot tomorrow.  My office is always about 50 degrees-it'll feel good tomorrow.  I do worry about my son though-he's a lifeguard.  I'm taking Joan's idea and going to go drench my plants tonight.

    Be careful in this heat!

I will be sitting a freezing big girl chair in the chemo room tomorrow with blankets covering me while it is 103 outside.

Kjiberty - I am so happy you are done after tomorrow. I have two more to go after tomorrow :-(, whatever, one day at a time, one step at a time, one chemo at a time.

I hope you have a great vacation planned!

Congrats to you gals finishing up w/chemo...you did it! I wish you all minimal se's.

Not liking the heat during the day, but the evenings are perfect for some much needed porch time. I don't want to come in most nights.

Kjiberty.... Last one..whoooo hoooo! On to rads? And a wedding? Our son got married just 3 weeks after I finished rads. I did fine, you will too.

Roula... You are getting so close to the end of chemo. Hang in there. Are you already tired of hearing everyone telling you that?

Joan - I can use all the support I can get!

I made my kids go to the mall with me today. I told them I will not be able to go out for a few days, so they reluctantly obliged. My kids could spend the whole summer on the computer or playing xBox online. I sometimes feel like a prisoner in my home.

Joan....I just sent you a pm.  Had Internet issues and just got things working right again.

See you all in the morning.

    Good morning,

Feeling better today (day 7 after chemo 2) so I'm off to work!

Be safe and have a great day!

Please pray for all those in Colorado, the firefighters, those that have lost their homes and those evacuated. My younger sisters family has been evacuated for a week, they are staying with my older sister in CO Springs further from the fires, but still breathing lots of smoke. Devastating! Prayer for lots of rain.

Karen --- really hoping for minimal se's for you and so glad this is the final one.   A lot of time we don't like endings......but sure can't say that now.

Roula.....it is easy to say hang in there.  I think coming here and knowing how many others heard those words and can now so easily repeat them is in fact great testimony that your trial by fire will end --- and you will accomplish something you never actually quite thought you were maybe strong enough to do.  I hope, like me, you can look back and definitely see, and feel just how very strong and capable you were about this.  Just knowing ( though I had a strong doubt or two a couple of times ) that I persevered through it all helped me see that you can be unaware of the amt. of strength and determination you really do have.  So hang in there.  The light in the tunnel is showing.

Instead of the couple days.....now sounds like we will have a t least a week of the triple digit temps.  I see my water bill sky rocketing I think.  I started watering a couple days ago thinking ( hoping ) rain was not too far away.....and now I guess I'll be keeping it up.

Hope you all have a terrific Thursday.  Stay cool.

    Hugs, Jackie

Lago,  What is the date of the walking event in Chicago?  I think it would be fun to walk as the Illinois Ladies Team!  How much work is it to organize?  I'm trying not to be so much of a volunteer lately but this sounds like a good way to give back to the community as I move forward, lol.

Yea kjiberty!  The end is here!!!!!  We're thinking about coming over your way for the 4th of July fireworks.  They are so fantastic.  Last year we camped out behind the Wal-Mart there on the East Peoria side.  Our grandson loved them!

Grace, so glad you got some help for the sleepless nights.  It's hard to heal without sleep.

I'm off to have a quick beverage with a friend and then to get my hair cut!

    Stay cool everyone!

valerie the event is October 20th at Montrose Harbor (northside). I have another meeting July 11th so any questions you have let me know so I can ask. This will only be my 2nd meeting. We will also need volunteers for the event to help out if you don't want to walk. We are still in the planning stage so more to come.

As mentioned I'm on the survivor/caregiver committee so your family caregivers (I call support system) are also welcome.

Lago,  So do we need someone to organize our group for the walk or do we just show up with pledges??  I think this would be a great target for me to look forward too!  I can't think that it would be too much trouble to keep a list of the people on here that would like to walk for our group.  I'm in if you can give me a contact or help me get started!  Let's walk for us.

I will organize our group. There is a $25 registration fee. I have never physically participated in a walk or run before so I'll need some suggestions for our $ goal. I think the like to have at least $2,500 but it doesn't work like Komen/Avon. You are only required the registration fee. This is a walk.

So send me a PM or email regarding suggested goal for us. If I don't have your email/phone please include it in the PM.

I am doing my happy dance.  Done with chemo!  Steriods are doing their work and making me feel like a normal human being at least til Saturday noonish.  Thanks to all of you for your support!

Hey, I may even be in for the walk,  That will be 3 months after my back surgery so I should be good to go. How long is the walk.  I normally walk 3-5 miles pretty easy.  If I can't walk the whole route, I can definitely volunteer.

Congrats Kjiberty!  Take it easy this weekend in this heat. Cool  Its all looking up from here!

The walk sounds like a great idea, if  you need volunteers though I would be happy to that instead.
