HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SPUNKY! I guess I am also late with these wishes. So sorry!
What a great picture of you "lunch bunch" gals! Everyone looks so wonderful! So glad you could get together and share such good conversation and company!
We FINALLY have our renovated house on the market so I have a free day to tackle things in our own house. I've already done the pantry, a few loads of clothes, and picked up all the clutter. Now I think a need a break. LOL
We also got some much needed rain during the night. It's really too late for some of my plants but will help the golf courses and the many trees that have started to lose their leaves already. There are so many brown leaves in my yard that you'd think it was mid-Fall!
I hope everyone is having a good day and enjoying the cooler temperatures. Although I am a hot-weather person, it is good to have the windows open and the fresh air moving through the house. The cats love it, too!

Happy, Happy Birthday Spunky......hope it was as special as you:

ANNOUNCEMENT - I'm so dramatic---Tom. I meet my new Onc. oh I hope I like her I've been with "my team" for almost 5 yrs and loved them like crazy---and I can't find my files --I've looked everywhere and I remember thinking I'll put them where I'll always remember. NOTHING My files are in 3 huge envelopes how could I not see them. Oh this is so stupid of me. My other Onc. gave me everything and a bi hug and called me later to tell me she loved me and I was such a wonderful patient and always up and funny. I didn't want to leave her at all--she got me--others don't so easily. And I walk in with nothing--well that should speak for me right away--especially if she asks me questions--all I really know is my stage and positive--I don't know what kinds of chemo, Ohwell I'll find them sooner or later so I'm thinking can I just say I'll brin them in next time? This was all done before rhey started putting everything in computers--but I do have all my meds typed neatly and spelled right (of course I didn't do it) so she might get the han of it with me. I don't know --Thursday I see the other one but she got used to me fast Well here goes nothing.0

Good morning!
Cami, it would be unusual for your old onc to give you original records. They normally give you a copy, so your new doc can probably, with your permission, get another copy. Good luck, and i hope you like her.
Happy belated birthday, Spunky. Jackie's cake looks delish! My son seems to move every year lately, and my older daughter also moves a lot. Same thing, always too many stairs. Good thing about getting old; they don't ask me for help anymore. Were you at the Palmer House during Lollo? My DH was there at a conference and he said it was suddenly so crowded. I think it was during the evacuation for the storm.
Hope you all have a wonderful day...the weather seems perfect! Thanks to the above for the rain, at last.

Cami absolutely guaranteed that your old doc still has your records. Docs aren't allowed to just destroy medical records. If you retire, the person buying your practice has them. If you retire without a successor, you have some retention requirements. You haven't explained how/why you are seeing a new team, but how you got there can also result in your new MO already having information about you. If your old MO referred you to the new one, chances are she would have sent a summary of your records.0

Morning....it is so pretty out and deliciously cool. I was not minding the heat, mind you.....just the EXTREME heat and humidity. Normal I can handle. It is a refreshing change and we are due according to weather man to get more rain on Wed. and Thurs. That will be really, really, welcome.
Camille....I also think you will be fine for your appt. I think Oncologists SEE it all where this disease is concerned and go through much with their patients and are not ruffled by much of anything. If it helps at all.....I, and possibly several others here also put items in a 'perfect' place for going right to when needed.....only the items are no longer in that 'perfect' place after all. I think the entity called LIFE loves to keep us challenged with these little tricks and does its best to keep us on our toes. I looked this morning for the dogs heart-worm pills that I carefully found a great place for in my kitchen. Let me tell you how BIG a small kitchen can be when your are looking for 15 minutes ( while the restless dogs wait to be fed ) for something that you were all but going to FALL over. As Bill Cosby would say......RuuuIIIIGHT!!!!!!!!
Smerf....stairs are definitely for young people. I went to an open house not far from our house ( just to be nosy ) and couldn't believe the stairs. The ones going up seemed taller ( higher step-up on each one ) and I could not imagine this older retired couple even thinking of using the upstairs bedrooms. Maybe that is why they are selling this $379,000.00 home. The ones going to the basement were better but not by much.
Joan...chocolate is good medicine.
Karen...how are rads going!!!!!Boring I hope.
C-squared....hope I told you how much I like your avatar --- every time I see you I wonder if I remembered to say how nice it is.....so now its official -- I do have little other memory lapses besides where I may have put things. And, by the way.....I think the above mentioned house is probably $389,000.00. Sigh !!!!
Hope you all have a gorgeous day.
Hugs, Jackie

Thanks Jackie! That photo was taken on the 4th of July.., day before my BMX.., and I had no idea it was being taken. The "Foxy River Walkers" team carried that pic on their backs this year during the SGK 3 day. I was honored.
By the way.., the quote you chose today is one of my favorites. When I remind myself of it, I'm the one that you see in the car singing like I'm Mariah Carey and I can hit any note - LOLOLOLOL - not!
Have a great day!

Morning All,
Got an odd question, has anyone ever had a drain leak from where it goes in? I woke up this morning with a wet spot on my jammies in that area, but my skin was clean and dry. I know I should just call the dr. But I'm really hoping I just sweat weird last night...0 -
Heidi, my uneducated guess is that it is no big deal, but I would call your doc's office and report it. They will probably just say to keep the area clean and apply a dressing.
Gosh, what a beautiful day! We deserve this. I am having a hard time talking myself in off the deck to get some work done. Think that I am going for a walk first. Hope that everyone else gets a chance to be out and enjoy the day the best you can.0 -
Happy Belated, Spunky!
The luncheon was a lot of fun as usual. Always great to see fellow Ladies, and new faces are always welcome.
Either before or after work today, I am determined to make myself stop at the fitness center near me and SIGN UP. Wish me luck, I may back down... I'd rather nap.

Hi Gals!
Just a quick "drop in" to say hello to everyone! I golfed this morning and am golfing again this afternoon. It won't be long and the golf leagues will be finished for this year, which means summer is winding down quickly.
Cami...good luck with the new onc. It's always hard to change when you really like a doctor. Keeping my fingers crossed that you and the new onc are a good match! :-)
Loved the quote for today, Jackie. I've had a little trouble getting out of my "funk" and it reminded me that each day is a gift to be lived to its fullest. Thanks!
I'm off to do some domestic chores before I take off again. Hope everyone is enjoying the cooler temps.

Spoke to the nurse, it's common if the tube gets crimped for the fluid to leak out around it. Phew! I get scared whenever my body decides to do something new these days...

kjiberty-my daughter was right across the street from U-Haul-now she's just a few block away.
ritajean-you are one busy gal. hope your reno sells quickly and with no hassles.
rene-good luck with the health club!
Heidi-glad to hear it was nothing to fret about
Cami-hope you love your new onc. don't sweat not having your records-they'll figure it out.
What a beautiful day, hope you all enjoy the respite from the crazy heat.

Spunky: In the big glass bldg with the Starbucks?
Jackie: Rads are going good. Almost 1/2 way home--14/33 done! A little tired, but so far, uneventful. Love your quote!
Cami: Hope you love your new MO too. I am sure they can get your records.

Heidi... glad you checked it out with your doc's nurse and got some peace of mind.
Kijiberty... way to count off those rad days. Yes, it is boring, a daily chore, and makes you feel like somebody's sci-fi experiment. I did have problems with fatigue during the final week or two that lasted for another month after finishing. I know that you have a special wedding coming up so store up some sleep!
Rita... I am very jealous of all your golf. I really miss my golf league this summer. Sure hope that my back is mended by next summer and I can be out there again.
I want to share this link to the recently released 2012 Breast Cancer Coalition's Progress Report. A very important read for those interested in what is "trending" with the latest stats and treatment considerations.

Quick hello from the Cape. Still eating stuff from the sea. DH went home today but I'm staying with the rents till the end of the week.
Heidi I had a leaky drain but nothing that gauze couldn't handle. Do you have any Kotex pads around. They absorb! Seriously one of the tips I read on this site.0 -
Lago: I am jealous! Hope you're enjoying every moment!
0 -
lago (is it Lago or Iago?) - I hope you are having a fabulous time!!! Do all of us leaky drain ladies get vacations on the Cape???

The gauze pads work well and my sister made me special 'drain' pajamas so it's not like I ruined my favorites. It is just such a shock to wake up with wet pjs for the first time....

Karen-yes, that was her building
Joan-I have no doubt you'll be back in the swing of things soon (pun intended)
Lago-enjoy!!!

The LUNCH BUNCH girls look FABulous! So sad that I couldn't join you
...hopefully sometime soon!
Best wishes to all in treatment, heading for treatment, beyond treatment, etc.!

Good Morning all---
Heidi I'm glad u have u'r problem solved and I had that happen too, and I remember waking up thinking--I couldn't have peed up here and it was all red. Well as quick as I am I figured it outLOL
Lago it's wonderful u have more time away --enjoy.
I'm planning on going out with my sister, cousin and our friends--yes we even share the same friends--for lunch today in Villa Park so that's always fun.
I'll be back to check in later--I'm up to early (for me)

Oh I think I forgot to tell u about my new ONc. Well of course u'r all right they were sending for my files--I'm still looking--So she just asked me some history Boy at that moment I wished I had paid attention to my other Dr.? My answers where mostly I don't know---she had an odd look on her face and couldn't figure out what I knew I did tell her how long my chemo was and she said HOW LONG/? That's what I remember--that's how the years added up so she'll wsit for my files. But she did say alot how I feel is what people on chemo go thru--so I showed her my nails (LOL) and she did say usually this is a chemo thing--I did tell her alot of my SE were considered under 4% of people got so it was all strange The whole visit was strange --last time a dr. changed my B/P meds and my b/p was never this high that;s what scared me---I don't know I have to see when she gets my files. So tom. I go for more blood work anyway and she ordered more? we'll see how this all plays out. UGH

camillegal what are your nails doing? I have some permanent damage and still trying stuff to get them better. (Urea is doing a decent job getting my nails to be less lifted and improved color). I only had 6 rounds of taxotere and my nails did the "rare SE."
BTW Cape Cod is kind of home for me. I grew up about an hour from Falmouth.

Oh Lago it sounds wonderful
My nails are dying the color is all gone and they are brown and way lifted from their beds and there is all dead skin under u can see it all??? I did get someting similiar while I was on chemo, but not this bad---No one know why I'd have it now. I told u guys I et everything that's like 3% of people get, I feel like a guinie pig I get so many Hmmm this is unusual--tat's why I tell everybody I don't want to hear things. silly right?
