Hello there girlies....BBBernie...I love your Ireland...Cant wait to visit....can we get a Booze Cake?

    NM....found this ......

Maine ism.........what I  wouldnt do for one of those Jordans red hot dogs....I could actually go for an italian also.

You've had arguments over the comparative quality of Fried Dough. You call four inches of snow "a dusting."You don't understand why there aren't fried clam shacks elsewhere in the country. You know what an Irving is and the location of 15 of them. You knew all the flavors at Perry's Nut House.Your car is covered in yellow-green dust in May.You can drive the Augusta traffic circle without slowing down. You've hung out at a gravel pit.You think a mosquito could be a species of bird. You once skipped school and went to Bar Harbor, Old Orchard Beach or Reid State Park.Even your school cafeteria made good chowder. You've almost fallen asleep driving between Houlton and Presque Isle. You know how to pronounce Calais. You've gone to a Grange bean supper. In high school, you (or a friend) packed Deering Ice Cream cones. At least once in your life, a seagull pooped on your head.At least once in your life you've said, "It smells like the mill in here."There's a fruit and vegetable stand within 10 minutes of your house. You crave Italian sandwiches at least weekly.uhcover2.jpgYour house converts to a B&B every July and August for people from away that you happen to know. All year long you're tracking sand in the house-from the beach in the summer and the roads and sidewalks in the winter. You have to have the sand cleaned out of your brake system every spring. You do the majority of your shopping out of Uncle Henry's.You've ditched the car on the side of the road somewhere because you thought you saw some good fiddleheads! You know a lobster pot is a trap, not a kettle. You know not to plant tender crops until the last full moon in May.You go to the dump and bring back more than you brought. You've watched "Murder she Wrote" and snickered at the stupid fake accents. You know how to find the rope swing at the quarry. You take the New Hampshire toll personally. You always wave when you see a Maine license plate in another state. When you're supposed to dress up, you wear flannel with a tie.red-hot-dog.jpgThere's too much "stuff" in your 2 "cah" garage to get either of your cars into it.You know what a frappe is.L.L. Bean's not just a store, it's a way of life."The City" means exclusively Portland. You've made a meal out of a Jordan's red dye hot-dog, a bag of Humpty Dumpty potato chips and a can of soda."Salt damage" is a viable insurance claim. All of the traffic lights blink yellow at 10 o'clock at night. It's not a storm - it's a Nor'eastah."Open 24/7″ might as well be Greek.More stores have "Bienvenue" flags than "Welcome" flags. You eat ice cream with flavors like ‘Moose Tracks" and "Maine Black Bear".You know that a chocolate doughnut is not a white doughnut with chocolate frosting. You wouldn't eat beans in tomato sauce or Manhattan clam chowder if you were starving!Adill.jpgs a child, you played outside in a snow storm without hat, mittens, scarf and with your jacket open because it was just a little cool. The area around your back door is referred to as "the dooryard".You eat potato chips with flavors such as "clam dip", "ketchup" and "dill pickle".You call the basement "downcellah."There is only one shopping plaza in town. You use "wicked" as a multipurpose part of speech.Your pickup has more mud on it then the ground around it for a 15 foot radius.More than 1/2 the meat in your freezer is moose. You enjoy a hot chocolate more than a margarita. If your "luxury vehicle" is a twelve-year-old rustbucket on wheels. If your dog eats better than you do, and more often too.If you never say what you paid for an item but how much you "give" for it.You know that "stove up" has nothing to do with cookin

Camy...I think Patron is Teqkilla...not sure about Passeo tho..someone needs to esssplaine dat one.

Soooo happy for Dorkie to be outta woik..sorry you need to do da hokeypokey tho DorK....your a trooper.

I just got a phone call from work asking if I wanted to work some OT today...hmmmmm....now why dont they ever call me for that when Im at home...damnit....

Whose turning into Jack and Jock o lanters???? LOL...going to carve one tonight...I love the smell of pumpkin....and roasting seeds...oh yeah...that can be my awesome contrabution to tonights festivities.

ttyl ladies....I should shower at some point and stop being a lazy arss.....

lol Camille, that kitty in the high chair is hillarious. I hope you do get your way with your hair, you are a grown up and can do what you want. if your DD won't do it, come on over to my DorkY Salon and I can help.  We want to see a picture of you with your burgandy hair and black nails. You sound like a really cool lady and I like it. You might be the oldest in the lounge but shirley, you are nearly the coolest! and bdw, it is up to you to recruit an older breastie so that you lose bragging rights. I know katwinka was nessapointed to lose that title. honestly though, it is not about age, race or color - we are all here for one ting and that is....uh likker? nope, I forget lol.

Katwinka, I really wish I was so that I could blame these nasty creatures on your people and not my people lol. Really though, it is widely known around here where they came from. When I had my first sighting, I googled it and found a link to Rutgers University which is less than a half hour away from here and at that time, the were just starting to find them in NJ. I found a website from Rutgers U where they were begging people to trap them and send them ALIVE for research. I did my part and I had trapped one and had a friend take it to over to Rutgers. I remember putting the nasty thing in a film vial but then had to take it out as it would have suffocated. The green stink bug is similar as it has the same shield shaped shell and foul odor but nothing like the BMSB aka brown marmorated stink bug (i always say marinated lol), they have another fancy name but we just call them stink bugs. I will not post the photos as I do not want to see them more than I have to. I can look around me and see them everywhere. They are very difficult to kill even with pesticides. If I used what it would take to kill them off, I would also kill my dogs. I have done a lot of research on these things. I like your idea of putting up state barriers but honestly, I know they will be throughout the US, it is just a matter of time.  Hey for fun, I can send some home with Sue and she can take some to KY. Then Mema and Alli can tell people who piss them off and remind them off that fact that they have the power and confess that they are responsible for bringing the bugs from NJ. Sue could let go of a few hundred of them in a vegas casino and Allison could take them to the derby. Although it is a grotesque and disturbing thought, it just shows the power of these fn thing.  I hope that the government wins the war before any of you have to go through what I am dealing with. Here is a link from Penn State U about them. While this is old, it is the most reliable source.

    http://ento.psu.edu/extension/factsheets/brown-marmorated-stink-bug

enuff about dem cept to say that my stink bug catcher is put together and I am feeling like I am going to have a fart attack after doing it. they are beyond disgusting and I am doing my part to keep them from spreading throughout the states by informing you girls of them. If you see one, act quickly before it is too late.  Save the US from stink bugs, namely the BMSB. ok, I has to vomit now but will be back for a dwink. sorry to be dorky downer, I will go and get dorkie de dwunk and bwing her in and leave that downer chick in de swamp.

Love you girls and thanks for allowing me to skeeve you all out.

AHHHHHHhhhhhhhhh you IZ wight, Dorkie! The ones we had were GREEN, and not BROWN....so now we can blame it on PA as the first place in the US??? But dang it those green ones were called Stink Bugs too, as they sure would stink if you moved them, and like you said, it is hard to get it off your hands. Would lemon juice help?

Cyn, we have 2 types of Patron in our "bar", and yeah, it is killa, BUT I hadn't heard of the type that Bernie mentioned in the Baby Guinness....wonder what that is?? Same thing??? My DH gets sooooo spoiled when he likes a new likker, he has to get the best (well the best he can afford...lol...that Patron was around $100 a bottle...too rich for my blood). Love the "Maine isms"....hahaha!!! Hadn't heard of more than half of them!

Well, heading to the dr...."physical", but mostly just to go over my blood work, etc. You all have a great afternoon, thats an order, from the 2nd oldest gal here....

    Good evening, Loungettes!

Goldie--my bedding got rained on, AGAIN, today.  I'm beginning to wonder if it will ever dry!

Wahine--There are times when  *poof* is good and times when it isn't.  Losing a post is an isn't. Fall colors are just passing peak.  There's been a lot of wind and hard rain so many of the leaves are down now.  But there are places where there's a wonderful tree just showing off for all it's worth!  Hmm, I have no idea what passoa is, guess I'll have to do some research.

Aha!  Passoa is passion fruit liqueur!  Sounds yummy!

DorKable--you have had so much trouble with recon, it's NOT FAIR!    And DOUBLE NOT FAIR that you have to frig with stink bugs!

Hey, LORD, it's me again.  Can I talk to You about DorKable? She's scheduled to have the $hitty titty fixed up soon, and I'd really appreciate it if YOU made sure there weren't any more problems or complications.  She's really been patient and tried to keep a smile about the whole thing, but I know it's got to be the pitts.  I know YOU have assigned DorKy a very competent guardian angel, but could YOU personally oversee this one, please?  It really needs YOUR personal touch, so to speak.  Or maybe it's the PS's guardian angel that's been off his or her game.  Either way, I'd take it as a kindness if YOU were to oversee this surgery personally.  Thanks, LORD.

BERNIE!!!!!!   Where DO you find this stuff!!!!!!!!!!

CynCyn--Yeah!  Wicked good postin' theah girl.

The Blue Hill Fair fried dough is always better than the Bangor State Fair's.

I can think of 27 Irving's off the top of my head.

Seagulls have pooped on my head more than once.  They're called Dump Ducks, for a reason.  As in "Duck!  He's dumpin' on you!"

I grew up and went to school in Bah Hahbah.   I skipped school to got to Old Orchard Beach to collect sand dollars.

Perry's nut house has over 200 kinds of nuts.

Smelling like a mill is the worst insult ever.  And the mill in Stinkin Lincoln is the worst!

The closest fruit and veggie stand is 1/4 mile from my house. Not even a 10 minute WALK.

Why don't all catalogs work like Uncle Henry's??????

Not only can I find the rope swing at the quarry, I know how to get to the nude section!

Jordan's red dye hot dogs, Humpty Dumpty potato chips and a soda is a GOURMET meal!

If you'd seen all the stuff I've stove up in my life you'd be amazed.  And you wouldn't let me hold anything breakable!

I have heard/done/experienced/understood everything on that list!  Where did you find it?

Rakul--reminds me of Dracule, as in Dracula.  Do you get a craving for bloody rare meat during the full moon?  Or is that for werewolves?

    Bring on the dwinkies, Tenders!

Oh NM, I am glad to know it is Passion Fruit liqueur....I love passion fruit (or lilikoi as there are 2 types in HI)! Think I may have some of that liqueur, as a matter of fact. BTW, if anyone likes passion fruit, there is an awesome yogurt that has passion fruit pulp and the seeds in it! It is like eating the actual passion fruit (if you just eat the pulp/seeds at the bottom). We have it in all our stores here, and I was surprised we could not find it in Publix in FL...they had the brand, but not that flavor. VERY nice prayer for our dear Dorothy! You always know how to say the nicest, heartfelt prayers...thanks from all of us!

Well, Dh had popcorn and thought that was dinner, but I felt like I wanted a REAL dinner, so ordered SteakOut and had a nice ribeye, baked potato, etc. YUMMY!!! That francise started here, and we have one location just about 2 miles away. Does anyone else have them nearby? Really, really yummy, even *ono*!

    Hugssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss,

Cami, we have Outback too, but this is strictly a delivery/pickup deal. VERY good too! They do have chicken too, and yummy loaded potatoes, etc. When my DD2 worked for a place that was a lab that worked with DNA, the owner (who is a gazillion billionaire now) bought lunch for everyone every Friday from SteakOut. ANd this was a big company, so I always thought that was really nice that he did that. Yummmm potroast is good too! My DH started me on some pills that are good for your eyes...he has been taking them a month or two and says he can tell a difference. I will see (yes, thats a pun)!

Cami, It is Lutein & Zeaxanthin, supposed to be "clinically proven for healthy vision". He also takes lycopene (like tomatoes, etc have), as he was in a study for lycopene, and it seems to do a lot of good.

A high intake of lycopene has been associated with a reduced risk of cancer, cardiovascular disease and macular degeneration.

I should take the lycopene too...but that first one is both supplements in one pill. I just hate taking so many things, so I wait till he takes something for awhile before I add it to my regimen. I keep meaning to add glucosamine/chondroitin to my stash....been giving the dog formulation to Maverick for a yr now and he is doing SO good, runs like a puppy (he is about 10 1/2).  And before that he could hardly get up, his hip is bad. But you wouldn't know it now.

NM, thanks for your sweet prayer. But the Amen thing is written wrong ha, don't take offense but it has two treble clefs and no base clef or whateber you call that ting. I hope your weather improves, it is getting nicer each day here but we had a bad week last week with rain and cold temps. I also liked Cyn's post about Maine. I've seen many of those on NJ and sure others have too, basically busting on the state.

Cyn, miss you and many of the other goils here.

Allison, so sorry for your family. I have another hug for you ((ALLI) and another big group hug for all (((ALL)))). I am glad your DD is not taking it too bad. give her a kiss and a hug again from Vida, yep dat me. Stella found her for me and she ain't purdy. Vida has the largest lips of anyone I have ever uhh 'been' lol.

My DD inhales ketchup, no kidding. I used to buy six large bottles at a time and am always running out. I guess that is a good thing.

Camille, you are so funny, i cracked up when you said you stink already. and milk n scotch, whodda thunk? I don't drink milk except in cereal. I used to love a tall cold glass with an egg breakfast but just don't like it anymore. I love milk of amnesia though, I think that is the stuff that killed michael jackson. I get some next week, that is one good drug.

Lynda, I like how you call them mr a b  c and dog. You are rocking the dating thing, hmmm, where do you find these people? I want men to buy me dinner too.

Kathy, I have never heard of that steak place but it sounds ubber delish. I thought about stopping at Charlie Brown's the other night for a good steak, it is a nice restaurant nearby and I was at a traffic light heading to the bank when I had a strong urge to go in and dine alone. I love a good steak but it must be cooked medium well.

Lori, your drink today was berry good. Or was that NM's? I can't remember, i cant recall, cuz I dwank it, I dwank it tall. ok, not a good poet. damn it, I concede in de poetry tonkest. contest mese means. how u b? i be goot. and vida goot too, but she a mo fo chit head and wese not talking. Stella told her what I said about her and she not happy. it was about her lips n her nose. ya see, she talk too much and she smell bad, dat what I mean. but did you ax? ha.

well I have got to get back up into my attic. I have the stairs down and the lights on, my hall blocked with crap that I tossed down and my DD will be home soon and I think she will want to get to her bedroom. so I go now. mese dwunk but wil try to come back for more. to those of you i do not talk to, sorry, do not be offended. I talk to you all day long, you just dont hear me.  Love you all!

oh oh oh, de shama lama ding dong song is playing in de lounge. right now shama lama ding dong ~ I sing it lowd i sang it pwoud like pwoud mary who i see in one week and 16 hrs and 14 minutes, or someting like dat, yep. cheers!
