    Pink n' Tart recipe

    Directions
Shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass, or stir well in an old-fashioned glass half-filled with ice.

OK, sorry for the funny look, BCO has changed how copy/paste works.  I usually get to edit the recipe before posting it, now it's going straight to the post!  Much quicker, but that mean's I'm going to have to adapt a bit. . . .

Good morning loungettes (first time I said that)

Boy do I need coffee NM I just read the drink and when it said old-fashion lass, I thought Oh I have some of my Moms' glasses.  OH I don't think tat's what was meant.

The coffe is ready, but y grandson isn;t up yet--I'm so f*ckin' lazy What's become of me.I have to get my own coffee. U guys have so much energy and I'm just a slug.

It's Dorkd's day Now 'm anxious for her--I hope it goes well and it doesn't hurt so bad. How long do u stay in the hospital for these things?

Over the summer I was in the hospital a couple of times for like a week each time and I found out I could use my compuer--Oh I was so happy--I don't think I was with u then or I really would have been cheered up alot. So now I know but the nurse had to set me up I had no idea what to do. I mean it only took her 30 seconds but between TV and the comp. I didn't want to be disturbed LOL Well I guess we just wait.

Thanks for the extra drinks yesterday Kathy, they were yummy and I did not spill my first ones when we bumped, it was a gentle one! As for the fall colors, the past 2 years of going there the end of October, they were just getting in to peak, then going to VA more so. So I imagine it will be beautiful, I think it depends on the weather as to how fast or when the colors start to change.

DorK, you always manage to make me smile girl. Loved the Titty Hokey Pokey and not sure I would call your month off a vacation! That certainly isn’t how I would want to spend mine! But you know we will be there with you love.

Oh Cami, I sure hope you get the burgundy, gheesh….it’s YOUR HAIR! And you should be able to do with it what you want. Especially if you had chemo and lost it all. Not sure what you are asking, about the path below what you are typing?

Booze cake, YUM. But anything with booze is YUM.

Cyn, hope you had fun carving pumpkins. I think I will buy some just so I can do pumpkinseeds!

Lynda, you are too kind. How much does your raku artwork sell for? Wow, going out with 3 dudes?

Kathy, glad your bloodwork was all goot! And you got cake!

Oh no NM…….I hope you have other covers to use. LOL @ that girl hanging laundry. Your prayer for DorKy brought tears to me eyes, AMEN and BARMEN. You always have the right words.

Well, I didn’t get to read everything, but glad to see things bizzier around here. Hugs to Alli and her family for the loss of her FIL. Will try to catch up later on.

There is a dangerous virus being passed around electronically, orally, and by hand.

This virus is called Worm-Overload-Recreational-Killer (WORK). If you receive WORK from any of your colleagues, your boss, or anyone else via any means DO NOT TOUCH IT. This virus will wipe out your private life completely.

Meatloaf is good Bernie....you really cant go wrong with it unless you make it too bland...Good luck!

Camy......dont let your DD tell you what color your hair should be...go with the reds....if thats what you feel. As far as meat goes....they say alot of red meat isnt good for you....I loveeeee me some red meat.....although, I love veggies and fruit also..we had potroast two nights ago...it was soooo good...and last night hamburger helper with ground turkey...it worked...and definately a decent substitute for the beef.  I would check for chest hair Camy...my parents always said if I ate my carrots it would put hair on my chest....like that was a goal for me.

Kathy ...steak sounds great!!!  Tonight we are going to Chili's ...but I probably wont order steak if Im not paying for it. I've had that passion fruit yogurt btw...Im not sure of the brand but it was Greek...lol..like that helps...was either in the white container or blue??

    Dorty.....thanks for clearing up Vida's identiy...I have a visual.

Good luck Raku on the dating deal.....its not easy at our advanced ages is it??

The Passoa looks yummy...do you drink it straight or mix it?

NM...I dont remember where I got that Maine list....but it made me a little Mainesick...All I can say is maybe next year...

    ((( Everyone )))

    Have a great day!

    Luv,

    Cyn

Good afternoon, Loungettes!  Got home a little early today, which is nice because it gave me a chance to clean out the car and pick up the house before leaving for Boston tomorrow afternoon.  And I got to take the duvet and pillow cases in, cause theys DRY!

BCO has changed the way stuff goes onto a post, I used to see it in a screen where I could edit it before posting, now it goes directly to post!  Now I've gotta figger out how to clean up the dwinky recipes before I put them up.  Such hard work.  Sigh.

Cammy-no, there is such a thing as a glass just for "Old Fashioned" cocktails!  Whoodda thunk?  The few times I've been in the hospital I haven't been at all interested in the TV.  That seems really odd since I usually have the TV on all the time here at home.  Come to think of it, I wasn't interested in TV for several days or more after I got home, either.  Those are some POWERFUL Drugs they give you there!  Changes your whole personality!

Goldie--Yes, I have other covers. I have 2 of everything just for such issues as this.  I grew up with that --2 sets of sheets, pillow cases, etc so one can be washed and drying and you still have one if the first set doesn't dry in time to put them back on the bed!

DorKable--no, dear, you didn't offend me, I have no idea what you are talking about so how could I be offended?

Cammy--the earthquake was centered in southern Maine.  We actually have earthquakes from time to time, but usually less than 3.0 and often never noticed except by the USGS.  I've been aware of 3 earthquakes, and the strongest still felt like a heavy truck was going by.

BBBBernie--I will definitely be on the lookout for WORK!  Nasty thing! Need new recipes?  How about Tuna Casserole?

Cook 1 box egg noodles per directions.  Drain and put in a casserole dish.  Add 1 can tuna (using the oil/water improves the flavor), 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 1 can sliced water chestnuts, 1/4 cup shredded cheese, 1/2 sleeve of saltine crackers, crushed.  Mix together.  Add  garlic salt and pepper to taste.  Pour milk over mixture to cover.  Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until hot and bubbly.  This actually is one of my favs from childhood.  I sometimes add a can of veggies (including the water) for variety.  Or use a different cheese (usually use mild cheddar).  You can top it with breadcrumbs if you want.

CynCyn--if you get to Maine better let me know!  I'll show you some fun!  And I have a spare room, even if I don't live right on the coast. . .

Yup, there is such a thing as an "old fashioned" glass....originally was for the drink called "old fashioned" I guess (I only had one once), but now used for other "on the rocks" drinks.

Feeling yucky still....hope its just from the flu shot and I am not getting real sick. Lori, I had to wait almost 2 hrs today as my mom needed lab work and it was at the hospital and they don't take appts. And boy were they crowded...some of the ladies were talking about mutiny....it was funny.

Pau Hana time....gotta knock out this cold, or whatever it is. OH Bernie, I was trying to remember (too late for you for tonight though), but I think I put a mixture of ketchup, brown sugar, and orange juice on top of my meatloaf (make an indention in the middle, from one end to other)...sounds weird but tastes great. Haven't made that in forever. But "home alone" for a couple of nights, so I just picked up something.

    Cheers Dears!!!

Sue u'r dggtr has Mersa? or are they still checking her out.? I hope she heals quickly, u must be worried.  But a very proud MOM.

Bernie good meatloaf?? It's really not that easy to make, I still can't make a good one--Yet my dgtrs do??Not from me.

Girls where the hell do  u get all this f8cking energy? I always hirt so much and still walk all dizzy too. Ugh Being old ain't for sissy's and I am one. I funny I remember asking my Mom yars ago hiw sweet it was to see older couples holding hands and it was so darling to watch such love. And she said love? When u get older u start gettin dizzy (women more than men) and u'r holding on for balance. So when I was at work I even asked older people like it's so sweet to see u hold hands and I always got the same answer from women---"I;d proably fall if I didn't" Geeze did that hurt. LOL--My Mom was right--as usual. LOL So between meds and age I don't have a chance.

Oh BTW and this is embarrassing. But remeber years ago---I was a waitress and a bartender. I know and I don't know any drinks. I should have some in my head but don't know any. hahaha And I did that right after my divorce for about 10 years. Years ago they would say if it wasn't for divorced women there would be no waitresses. ??? But geeze it was good money. Especially when I was pregnant my tips were great and I worked til just a month before my dtr was born. Sorry 2 other boring stories--Unfortuately I;m full of them. and Thanks for letting me go on and on even if u don't read them (and I don't blame u) Remember I told u I was boring--so u were warned.

I'm up to early this morning and I have to wash clothes and try to do other things. Oh well---I'll check in later. Have a wonderful feel good day.

Lynda, I don’t think I envy you  dating at 50! And all of that cologne, I hope you weren’t confined in close quarters! Just not sure what I would do, but hopefully I won’t ever have to worry about it!

Dort, wasn’t me who asked about Vida, but dat ok. Cuz now who eber axed will know. But no one can top Stella. NM has been posting the last few DOTD’s

That Pink Tart looks mighty good!!!

Cami, glad you got your coffee and the nurse helped you with the puter in the hospital. I think you can get internet just about anywhere these days. And you are anything but boring girl, gheesh. Be kind to yourself. I think it lets us get to know you better when you (or anyone) throws in some personal stuff. Cute story about older couples holding hands cuz they’re dizzy…..lol.

Good grief, what is wrong with some of our posts? Too much likker I guess. Seems as tho BCO has had nuttin but problems since changing their format.  I never used to have to sign in, I have it in my favorites and just click on it, did not have to login. I do now, even if I check the box that says to “keep me logged in” ………anyone else?

Bernie, how did your meatloaf turn out? I had always found that a tough one, to make a really good one. Finally found a recipe that I really like. What other types of recipes are you looking for?

Cyn, I think today is your last full day in TX and you go home mannana? L My fart is sad foy you.

YAAAA for dry bedding NM! FINALLY! I was able to make out the ingredients in the DOTD. How long will you be in BAWSTON? LOL at not being offended cuz you don’t know what DorK is talkin ‘bout…..bawahhaha!!!

Kathy, hope you are feeling better today. I was just reading about taking honey and cinnamon for a cold and it knocks it right out, in just a day or 2. Taking it like 3 times a day. But don’t remember where I saw that. Hope your DH continues to WIN big and brings you home some MOOOOOOla!

Look at all those ribbons, thanks for sharing that Sue. And sorry, but I have to EWWWWWW on anything with velveeta. My DH loves that stuff, I can’t stand it, and call it cheese wanna be! Also I think that is great that you can improvise some of the drinks if you don’t  have all of the ingredients. OH NO, CRAP. Just read about your DD, my gawd, can’t that poor girl catch a break? I’m so sorry Sue, sending prayers for all of you. I so hope it is not MRSA and a big ole congrats to her for being numero uno on the promotional exam. I got an infection right after having my hysterectomy, went to ER in excruciating pain, 2 weeks after going home. While there, my incision just opened up. Anyways, they told me I had a staph infection, but I think they were trying to hide the fact that it was MRSA, as they had a helluva time finding an anti B that would work. Had to leave the incision open and let it heal from inside out. Was horrible, I didn’t think I was ever gonna get better.

Kathy, MRSA is a terrible staph infection that is very hard to treat and it usually rejects most anti b’s and can be very dangerous and is contagious.

    From WEBMD:

    What Is MRSA?

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a bacterium that causes infections in different parts of the body. It's tougher to treat than most strains of staphylococcus aureus -- or staph -- because it's resistant to some commonly used antibiotics.

The symptoms of MRSA depend on where you're infected. Most often, it causes mild infections on the skin, like sores or boils. But it can also cause more serious skin infections or infect surgical wounds, the bloodstream, the lungs, or the urinary tract.

Though most MRSA infections aren't serious, some can be life-threatening. Many public health experts are alarmed by the spread of tough strains of MRSA. Because it's hard to treat, MRSA is sometimes called a "super bug."

DOTD (for Cami’s old people holding hands) and check out what it’s served in!!!!

    DIZZY DAME

3/4 oz coffee liqueur (tia maria, kahlua)

    1/2 oz cherry brandy

    3/4 oz whipping cream

Shake and strain into an old-fashioned glass filled with broken ice. Garnish with a speared cherry, add short straws, and serve.
    Serve in "Old-Fashioned Glass"

    Another one

     Dizzy Dame Ingredients

Oh Goldie if any drink has whipped cream it's ot to be goo.

Oh and u had MRSA, Sue I hope tat really isn't the case Goldy I didn't know there was a contagion in it. I thought u got it thru u'r own body usually when u've been in the hospital when u have some kingd of surery, or open something up. I thankfully don't know much about it but know what it is. Whenever I got opersted on (same surgeon) I'd alwys say don't open those doors for any reason (because of infection) then I'd write it someplace on my body--he's get so upset with me cuz they had to remove it first--big deal add 30 seconds to the operation. And staying in the hopital much longer than I was supposed to Iknew there'd be more of a chance. So Sue maybe it's a bad infecion which we all had but it's easier to treat. Wow I'm still learning about everything--well my clothes are done see I do do things.

I have the silliest stupid question ever (not about cancer) Why is it that so man young people are alergic to Peanuts-(no, not Charlie Brown) but when I was youner (Catholic school) every ate Peanut buter and Jelly on Fridays. I never knew anyone with this alergy, and again when my kids were younger too P/J were a staple for everyone. Now most every classroom can not bring rhat for lunch even cuz there are so many kids allergic and can't take the chance. Wow it amazes me. See what I think of.LOL

My SIL has severe peanut allergy.  Peanuts and peanut oil are put into so much food nowadays, as a filler.  When you start reading ingrediants on stuff, it's scary.  Her allergy only came on ten years ago and the attack very nearly killed her.  No warning whatsoever.

    W. yep - not sleeping again.

I like simple easy recipes.  But have been trying to be more adventurous.  Too much time on my hands.

I mixed three different recipes to do the meatloaf - using flavours I knew I would like.  DH loved it and had cold leftovers for lunch.  I'm still in shock.

Tuna is so expensive here and I love it, so will try that recipe for an occasion.

Me counting the days now - 7 of us going to Belgium next thursday.  Meeting up with some mates from England as well.

2/3 of a shot Tia Maria

    1/3 of a shot Bailey's Irish Cream

Fill the shot glass with about 2/3 of tia maria and then layer the baileys on top.
