Good morning, Loungettes!  I got word yesterday that there's another training day in Boston next week.  Don't know what day or anything like that, and I'm just a little put out that I'm not getting any kind of decent notice, and am considering saying I can't go because of that.  I'll probably end up scrambling around and going anyway, but I am NOT happy about it.

Hi, denise!  Nope, you don't need any medication at all!

     CynCyn--safe and sound is good!

ORLA--I'm glad there's no infection, but be aware of the risk of lymphedema.  Any swelling is worth getting checked out by a lymphedema specialist (usually a PT or OT with extra training).  Please think about getting a referral to one now--once LE starts it cannot be cured, only managed.

Cammy-hope the immodium works for you!  I have a mental picture of you as a big sugar cookie sitting in front of a computer getting nibbled on by the kitty and doggy. . .

    NICE party house!

DorKable--turkey flavored peanuts?  Really?  Not that I should say anything, I can't make anything dead but I love to eat it once it is dead!

    Hi, Adey!

    BBBBernis--now THAT's a good batch of stuffing!

Undy--yuck on the pox in the mouth.  I had chicken pox at 15, had them down my throat, talk about HURT!  Tell your DH to rest up, chicken pox pneumonia is nothing to mess with.

Princess Glitter Sizzle' s DOTD is the Chipendale

    1/2 pint lager

    2 splashes black currant cordial

    1/2 pint cider

Pour lager and cider into a pilsner glass, then add black current cordial until the drink is purple.

A beautiful day in the neighborhood..well...it has potential anyway..no clouds so far anyway.  I wonder what kind of trouble Stella is getting into in the UK??  I hope we hear from either Julie or Stella.

Good advice (as usual) NM regarding Orla and LE...thats something that scares me a little...I dont let anyone get anywhere near that arm.

Wishing safe travels to all our girls on the road!!!  Cant wait to meet our Alli Cat Ms. Vino in a couple of days!!

    Good afternoon girls!

NM, what is wrong with people, sending you all the way to Boston with such little notice? Damn them! I hate that you have to go but suspect you have to. Great advise to Orange to get checked out. All de goils should listen to your advise.

My dear Camille, I just wish you could feel better :( Makes me so sad that you do not feel well. FURB is right (that means Fu-- YOU RAT BASTARD for those of you who do not know that acrynym. I can answer your question on Cyndie's behalf, yes she works full time, she works from home, ten hours days and I think thurs -sun (I tink). I was up in de middle of de night and was reading just after you posted at 3:30am, but it was 4:30am here. I had a rough time, perhaps too much nap yesterday? I could not get comfy. But yer issues are way bigger than mine so I will shut de F up now and stop complaining. Instead, I pray for better days for you my love.

oops, gotta run. have a good day all!

Jest got home, long drive, but I just rested and let DH do it all. So many CRAZY drivers on the road though. Cami, I think its just you and I who are not "employed". But there is always so much work to do at home, etc., that I never say I "don't work". LOL. Sue works part-time now, after retiring (is that right?).

Sure hate that Cami and Bernie have LE....that is awful. Wish there was a cure for it, must make you feel miserable when it is really bad. And none of my drs (PS or BS) worry about it, but I make sure they do the b/p and iv's, etc from the arm that did not lose lymph nodes. Terrible how we have to really know about all this chit. And OLara, I hope that is not what you have. I understand why they ask if there is a red line though....my legs have been killing me at times, and I wonder if the vein surgery I had earlier, is having probs, but even I look to make sure there is not that dreaded red line.

SO GLAD our two gals (Stella and Julie) arrived safely in the UK and are enjoying some yummy food! Thanks for letting us know you got there safely, Julie! Sure hope that molerfoker does NOT show up!!!

Hope everyone else has safe travels today too....we've all sure been bizzy lately!

thanks for the good Chippendale dwink NM....hate that they expect you back in boston next week, though.

    Titz Up....Cheers for Chippendales!!! WooHoo!!!!!!!!

I have not yet read todays posts...wanted to share some info with you all....I am balling my eyes out watching a benefit concert to support the Red Cross to help victims of hurricane sandy. They have great musicians performing ie Bon Jovi, Sting, Bruce, Steven Tyler, Billy Joel and many more great entertainers. Between each song they are playing videos of the destruction. I need more kleenex. If ennybody wants to watch, it is on now on NBC, USA, Bravo and E and more. It was put together so beautifully and is beyond touching. I jest spent my ex DH's money by texting a donation. I know he won't mind! Most of the coverage is the NJ shore where I hold many happy memories. This is jest so terrible.

Love you goils, hope you are all having a fab day.  Cheers, no tears! Barmen....

AAARRRGGGHHHHHH....this sorta has me p.o.'d....gotta share though. When we were driving home today, at a rest stop in TN, there were several utility trucks from a city next to ours. We were touched, figured they were all on their way to help NY and NJ. NOOOOOOOooooooo.....they were actually RETURNING home after being turned away when they got up there...the union people called them "scabs" and sent them home. This was just on Fox news, and will be reshown at the end of the Hannity show, which is prolly on now. I think thats horrible, and glad it was on the national news.....wonder how many more instances like that where people go that far to help and then are turned away. AND they NEED so many utility workers to volunteer and help out up there. That was just upsetting to me. ALSO, my DH wondered why the president does not send up a lot of gas for the people in the affected states...the military has lots of gas, he should be helping them out more. When Bush didn't do enough (cause no one really knew what to do, it was an unprecedented disaster) for the Katrina victims right away, he was chastised. But nothing is being said about the current president and we haven't heard of him doing anything except viewing the area.

OK, off my soapbox. Sorry if I offended anyone, but this is a big disaster and everyone should be pulling together, and yes I know I am so tired and so prolly more cranky than normal, but this just doesn't seem right to me.

OK, Pants, Jock, please bring me some nice strong drinks, so I can get cheerful again!

Cami, Sorry you are not feeling well. And your typing is NOT bad, I love reading your posts!

Dorkie, I just caught the last few minutes of the show, but was so glad they got so many GREAT entertainers together at the last minute, to raise money for this disaster.

    Dwink Up!

Kathy, my ex told me about this on the phone and I thought he had to be making chit up. But I just did some research and it is true, it was the city of Seaside Heights that turned them down. That is bullshit. The article I read said that the team from Alabama moved on to NY instead of going home. Ironically, at the end of this town there is an awesome and beautiful government owned parcel of land known as Island Beach State Park. This state park happens to have the Governor's Mansion which is a fantabulous multi million dollar home used for the NJ Gov'nr for time off. I just can't believe they would turn down help, that is sickening. And that town holds a special place in my heart. It was the closest beach from my then home, I could get there in just under an hour. Back when I graduted from college and could not find a full time job in my field, I ended up in retail and many wednesday's, one of the two days off I had, I often packed up my Lil Playmate cooler, some beer, munchies, a chair, a blanket and my boon box that ran on batteries and drove to Island Beach State Park to sunbathe and also worship the ocean. It was a great set up, it cost 2.00 a carload, there was a huge parking lot so no issues with finding parking. And the best part was that they had bathrooms, indoor showers so I could wash up and change vs driving home with sand in my ass. The park also had showers on the beach (for paranoid goils like me who are scared of sharks and jelly fish). What I am saying is that is the same town of my fav childhood/early adulthood beach and I am outraged that this happened. I don't know what idiot decided only union workers could do the job under such horrific conditions.  am glad that I do not have the same gas and electric company, I would switch. I outta raise a big stink about this on facebook if it is not already brought to the public's attention. WDF is wrong with people? I am irate for you and also for the citizens of that township. I am mad and I am not sleep deprived. What I am saying is that I feel your pain. Ok, it took a lot of words to say that, damn I talk a lot.

I need to chug down a few more dwinks and come back and finish up dab gang it!

Tanks for hearing me. Peace, love and likker ♥♥♥

Glad you were able to check that out too Dorkie. Just no sense in that, is there? Sounds like it was a beautiful place to go and just enjoy the ocean! I used to do that a lot too, in HI...actually would skip classes and just drive to the beach in my mom's convertible and sit there and just look at the ocean. I wrote a poem there for a hs class, and it was really neat, about surfing, and the teacher accused me of copying it....she didn't believe I wrote it.

OK, I really think I need to try to get some sleep....I am too much of Kranky Kathy right now....gotta get out of dis funk! Hopefully getting off this med, and getting some sleep maybe I can be my sweet (NOT!) self again.....LOL.

Take care Loungettes....Sweet Dweams!!! (ooohhhhh Mr. Big is tucking me into bed, and he said Mr. Bigger is tucking in Dotty at her house....the rest of the Tenders are up for grabs...."Grabs"....get it???)

Daily massage sessions are very important in managing lymphedema because it helps to compensate for the difficulty in obtaining compression. It is also very important in removing excess fluid, softening fibrotic tissues, and easing pain in these affected areas.
