LOL Lara....cute tux'd cat! Reminded me of the tuxedo strawberries at that fancy-schmancy wedding we went to in NJ....so cute, white chocolate and then made to look like a tuxedo.
Cami, Thanks for the worries...really, I appreciate your concern. My DH did call and let them know how sick he has been, but ALSO that the antib's he was put on can stay in your body for 30 days, so we need to remember to tell the anesthesiologist about that so he won't give him more antib's. I don't know how he will get in the house with 1 straight leg...we have steps, but just maybe 4 to get in the front door, and 4 steeper steps if he went the garage way. HE already has a walker and the brace...this will be quite the challenge.
Hmmm.....how can Dorkie possibly be humping TWO tenders at the same time? Like an AdorKable sandwich...LOL. Anyway, we sent dem to ya, now dey will keep ya bizzy ya know. Looks like a big smile on your face though......

WooHoo Pau Hana Time in the HTL!!!! Well, anytime is PauHana or Happy Hour, duh! But for me, I am gonna get Pants to mix me a nice tall icy Seagrams/Diet! Oh, and he already made a Jack/Diet for you-know-who, and a Duck Fart for annudder you-kno-who....and omg there is a fresh coffee/brandy. I see several glasses of white and red wine poured, as well as some Kahlua....Oh and some Natty's in an icy bucket. I know there are more drinks for us loungettes, but if I keep trying to think of them all, my dwink will get watered down....

There's this white ecologist working with an African tribe, and one day the tribe elder comes to him and says, "My wife just had just a baby, and it's white. You're the only white man within hundreds of miles of here."
The ecologist gulps and says, "Well, some things in nature just can't be explained. Look at that herd of goats, for example. All of them are white except for that one black goat. This is probably like that."
Finally, the Tribe elder nods and says, "Well, all right, I'll keep quiet about my white baby, if you'll keep quiet about that black goat.0 -
good morning bernie
,hope your dh surgery goes well kathy, thanks for all the suggestions for my friend ,she appreciated them, she said the mo said, they could control but not cure the frb so i'm guessing stge iv, 0 -
Good morning, Loungettes! How is every one this ayem? Warm but windy here, gonna be another interesting day.
Goldie--I have to change my work 'puter passwords every so often, too. I use Bible verses--has capital letters, numbers, and characters and is (relatively) easy to remember. I know other people have developed patterns and other ways of remembering passwords. What a pain, huh? Breathing wise, I'm feeling much better, the doc's office is making a referral to a pulmonologist for me, my head still feels like it's rotating 360 degrees every so often but I can concentrate better and actually got some sleep last night so I'm hoping the steroid effect is wearing off. Progress is being made! Yummy--drinks/deserts! Love the look of them!
ORLA--yup, love PJs and sweat pants for at home attire! Very comfy! Wow, that is some bathroom! Talk about a room with a view!
Wahine--The whole Red Tide/Crimson Tide thing is kind of a play on words since I am not sports minded at all. I'm one of the idiots that would say something like the referee called the touchdown runner safe and really mean it! Or at least not understand why everyone else is laffing. Hand sanitizer is a good thing to take with you to the surgery center, so is your own bottle of water to sip on. Good luck to your DH!
Cammy--I am taking it easy, doing just a couple of visits a day, getting paper work caught up, getting home and doing nothing. Fell asleep in the recliner at 7 pm last night and slept right there, got another light day today, keeping an eye on things. Say my PCP yesterday, lungs are much clearer, still on the antibiotic just in case and taking cough stuff with codeine. Didn't even need to wear my depends yesterday! I bet you GF is having a grand time with her new grandchild. Good for her, but not so good for you!
DorKable--umm, since when do you have to ask for a Tender for ANY day of the week, let alone Hump day?????????????????
Tuxedo Cat has arrived! All Hail Tuxedo Cat (except Silly Sadie, of course)!
Wahine--remember, up with the good leg, down with the bad--Step up with the good leg, get a good grip on the handrail, pull up the bad leg, stop and rest, repeat. The trick is to take your time. Or get help. Or both!
DorKable--you are always forgiven! I know I don't expect everyone to remember/respond to every one else here, especially now that we've gotten to be such a big crowd. So quit whining about that and enjoy life!
OK, listening to the news, Boston has declared a state of emergency due to the flu. There have been 32 cases in Maine, and I don't even know where those were/are. Don't know anyone who's had direct contact with anyone with the flu. No nursing homes closed to visitors, no extra notices on hospital entrances. Seems like a ghost flu to me so far. Yeah, I know, I just need to wait, but really, it seems like it's getting blown out of proportion here in Maine.
BBBBernie--hee, hee!
Juliet--I'll keep praying for your friend. I know control is not as good as cure. I'm praying the control is for a very, very long time.

Thank you Katrinka foy saying dat mese sweet. And don’t forget your sanitizer!!!! Wishing your DH all the best for this surgery and that he will not suffer much. Can you wait in your car for part of the time. Maybe they could call you, like Alli had them do for her? Tuxedo strawberries…..I had to google those. WOW, what a LOT of work. Here is one with a bride strawberry too! And spot on for all of our drinks. Reminds me I need to crack open that bottle of Tequila Rose I bought, that’s sitting in the freezer.

Cami, glad you liked the cheesecake drinks, they are sweet, just like ewe! I hope your GF hits it off with her DIL. Is she actually staying at their house?
You can fart in that bathroom Lara, just give us fair warning! …..or is it fare warning?
Oh Bernie……….ewwwwww for the black goat!
Dort, hope you had a Humpin goot day………….hehe. How is the pain doing in your non shitty titty? When I had to wait for my incision to close up from my hysterectomy, I didn’t think it was ever gonna happen. And much larger too, prolly 6-8”. Took months.
Julie, praying that they can control the RB for a LONG time for your friend.
WHEW, glad I refreshed and didn’t bump ya NM. Also glad that you are feeling better. My biggest problem with the passwords is that I have probably close to 50 or so sites that need them, so impossible to remember them all. This flu stuff is crazy, and nationwide. I’m still knocking on wood, as we have managed to stay well. Our friends that were gonna come over for NYE are still sick, so we are planning for the 18th.
We shall have 2 DOTD's today. This one is a Chocolate Strawberry Tequilla Cocktail

- 1 part Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila*
- 1 part strawberry puree or daiquiri mix
- 3 parts chocolate milk
- Chocolate covered strawberry for garnish
Combine chilled chocolate milk, Sauza® Blue Silver and strawberry puree in a tall glass. Stir vigorously to combine. Pour into a glass and garnish with a chocolate covered strawberry.
OR, you can have a Chocolate Covered Strawberry Martini

1 1/2 oz Godiva Chocolate liqueur
1 1/2 oz White Creme de Cacao
1/2 oz Stoli Strasberi vodka
2 1/2 oz cream
strawberry, garnish
chocolate syrup, garnish
Take chilled cocktail glass and spin with chocolate. Pour liqueur, vodka, creme de cacao, and h&h in a shaker full of ice. Shake once and pour into glass. Garnish with strawberries. Enjoy.

Perspective, its all about perspective! (Thats my lesson for the day, lol). ANYWAY I am so glad you got so much sleep last night NM....in fact I think you must've slept for me too, cause I only slept one hour. It was agonizing being awake all night, knowing I had to get up so early. WELL, I had a rude awakening as DH had his bird sounds alarm on, but he had already gotten up....so it goes off 30 min before I needed to get up, and at first sounds nice and pleasant and I swear it almost sounds like the birds are screaming after awhile! SO I was not a happy camper waking up to screaming birds (like Angry Birds? lol). By the time he came in I was a basket case listening to that racket. (SIlently plotting how to kill that alarm!).
OK, heres where the perspective comes in....I turned the news on and a car had driven thru a house very early this ayem, and they had to evacuate a couple of blocks of homes as it broke a gas main or sumtin. GEEZ that would be worse, having to get up and out of bed and OUTSIDE and leave your house suddenly, whilte its still dark. So I learned my lesson on perspectives.
Anyway, Good Early Morning Loungettes! Going to get ready quickly now so I can get my DH to his knee surgery on time. Hope you all have a great Thirst-Dey, and I'll check in with you later.
So....later gaters,
Kath

OOPS Hope I didn't bump ya into those lucious dwinks Lori! YUPPERS that exactarackery how the tuxedo strawberries looked. Ya know, there were some white ones that I didn't look at closely thinking they were just plain, but maybe they were those bride ones you pictured! Awesome!!!

Hehe, dat wuz Snagglepuss Kat. But you wuz prolly in a hurry like de Roadrunner, right? Girl, you worry me with the little bit of sleep you get. Seems like that has been going on for quite some time, even when you were in TN and on that new med that wouldn't let you sleep.

Lara, hope your car doesn't cost too much. Not what you need right now, eh?
This flu epidemic is terrible. Boston having over 700 cases, killing more than a dozen people. Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pennsylvania is getting as many as 100 patients a day with flu-like symptoms. A tent has been set up to handle the less serious cases. 44 states affected, Arizona just added to the list. 29 states reporting high levels of the flu.
Scary Chit I say!

In your neck of the woods Kathy......
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Despite huge numbers of students being out of the classroom stuck at home sick with the flu local administrators report education progress has not been slowed.
Last month at Huntsvillle Middle School nearly 100 students were out sick with the flu but teachers were able to send home assignments and lesson plans over the newly purchased one-to-one technology.

we' re seeing about a case a week of the flu before i had my days off but the local news reports there spiking now, there's also a signigicant respirtory and gastric bugs going round too. so nm wear a mask while out, you do not need this bug, all i can say is either keep a mask in your purse or a scarf for crowed areas , wash your hands frequntly and also get the family to do the same and wash down things that are frequently touched, like door knobs, phones, keyboards ,tenders, wenches. so lara when all these people turn up in hazmat suits next week, its just us
had a funny conversation with my dad yesterday about diarhhea, i'm getting a blow by blow account
, of his problems , then he mentions when he got the hose up his ass at 5000 psi(barium enema) but he couldn't remember what they found ,its diverticulitis dad, its funny because before he had the seizure a couple of years a go ,any symtom below his ribcage wasn't mentioned wouldn't dream og going to a doctor about it.thinking of that family kathy ,hoping his arms are tightly wound around them right now, take care0 -

Morning DahhhhLinks!! Doesn't look like I missed much of a party last night...glad about that. I was experimenting with chicken pot pie. It did NOT turn out as good as the foist time. OH Well....glad my DH is not too picky!
Bernie - Love that poem!
NM - From yest…glad you are going to see a pulm spec. You cwack me up talking like you were a cartoon character. My mind went to Jim Carrey in the Mask and all the cartoon characters he turned into. Cwack me up!! Someone sent me all those muses, wish I could take credit…but I’m not dat witty. That a beautiful prayer for that mother and her girls, and sweet of you to include the driver and his family. Just sooo sad!
Had to LOL over having DorK record a titty farty…the other day she tit-called me. Ya kno how people put phns in their pockets without locking them. The phone accidentally dials a number…we used get them a lot in Dispatch. We called them butt-calls. Well, Dorfy had her phone (I don’t think she knows how to put it to sleep yet) in her bra (good titty side) and it dialed me. I answered…kept saying ‘Dorothy…Dorothy…Dorothy Klien’…she finally ans me. Said she had run to her car to get something, stuck phone in her bra, as she was walking back to the bldg, she kept hearing someone calling her name…finally dawned on her. Anyway…I cud jes see her looking all around the parking lot...LOL!
Dorfy - I tailed the story. Hope you not mads at me. Don’t forget to make that call today…K?
Lori - Yummmm….I’ll have one of each of those cheesecake dwinks. I do the same with my passwords. I have mine and my sons and his corp. If I didn’t have a cheat sheet I’d b screwed. But on the cheat sheet…there is only enuf charaters of the password for me to remember it. If I lost it, the finder wud be stumped. OOO still reading….Choco Strawberry Teq DOTD….OMG…Line em up boyz!!
Lara - Don’t worry…everything will work out…and we’ll be getting the UFO ready in a few days…make sure we all be ther
Kathy - Wow…I thot they were going to postpone the knee surgery, thot he was still pretty sick?? Please take sanitizer today…will say some prayers for Glenn too..(((K & G))) O…I see you answered this to Cami. Muah!
Julie - I am sooo sawee for your friend…I remember those words from my onco like it was yesterday. All we can do is maintain a positive ‘tude, have lots of laughs, lots of likker, and surround ourselves with ladies like you and all the others on this thread.
Lori - u so smart to remember da cartoon characters. Do u still watch da LoonyTunes channel? j/k
Lubs lubs lubs lubs ya'll!!

Another hint to keep flu at bay ladies. Get a rag and soak in bleach water. Wring but not tightly, put in ziplock bag. Wipe your hands often, like after opening a public door, using a stair railing, etc. If you are sitting in a public area, use the rag to wipe down the entire chair before you sit. It's cheap, convenient, and bleach kills!!

Yummy tenders is a good thing.
Good Mornin' all--
Goldie--chocolate or cheesecake my favs--Wow
I hope we hear from Kat as soon as she's able--I know this can be a rough one, my brother had it but he said it wasn't so bad--so I guess it just depends.
Every yr. that it doesn't get cold enough we always have a big brakout of some kind of cold/flu--maybe cold kills the germs. Who knows, but lots of people have this stuff. U can't go anywhere without people coughin or sneezing or worse. My dad used to say have enough alcohol in u and it will kill all the germs. Maybe he was right. We should follow his lead.
I'm having trouble with my typing--no no I mean I type words and they don't show up til later, WTF--I'd better reboot this rhing??????

LOL Lara!
My DH made it really well thru soigery, thanx for all your prayers and concern. Now, nursing him is the hard part!!! Was there for almost 4 hrs, cuz they have you arrive so durn eurly.
Wow Lori, I am impressed! I would not even have remembered the NAME Snagglepuss, good for you!!! On the article from HSV, this school year ALL the school kids were given either laptops or tablets (K and 1st gr I think were given tablets), so I guess when they are home sick now, there is no excuse not to know the assignment! ALL the textbooks are on the computers, etc. Quite an expense, and hope all the kids can learn that way. My DD1 said she would have needed to have the BOOK in her hand, not the computer to learn from. But this is the way technology is going!
Julie, OMG....that last pic.....drool. Now THAT gets the juices going more than Fifty Shades, which btw gals I am almost finished with the 1st book. It is soooooo lame though.....I have read better erotica yrs ago, I guess this one got so popular though as it was the first mainstream erotic book that was ACCEPTED in social circles, and talked about in public. Funny. Even Cyndies gma is reading steamier stuff than Fifty Shades....LOL.
Well, jest wanted to check in and let you know all is well here. Still sick, but not too bad, just weak, not too much coughing now. Hope NM and Cami get totally well. Anyone else sick???
Hugssssssssssssssss (or should I say "laters, babes"...lol)

I forgot to mention that they officially declared the other little girl, dead. They are trying to donate what organs they can. So they lost both their little girls in that accident, pllease keep praying for the family.

On a brighter note, this is my g'sons 12th birthday, today. So for a few months, my DD will have stepping stones: 14, 13, and 12 (till the oldest turns 15 in May).
