Entomologists would offer a captive female a potential mate, and would quite often be horrified to watch the female bite the head or legs off the smaller male. After the male had served his copulatory purpose, he was nothing more than a good meal to the female.

Praying mantises (how do you make it plural) scare the heck outta me. They fly and also run fast. I have 4 on the back porch tonight under the light. I wouldn't hurt one for anything but I sure don't want one flying at me. Mine are the brownish ones and they blend in with the brick.
HaHa - about the toilet seat. I had a patient in an older home (1940s) that actually had to do that.
