desks
- I was so happy to have one in elementary school and I loved to keep the inside neat and tidy. A friend and I even made beds and homes for our animal shaped erasers.
-in high school I loved the ones that had a writing tablet area attached to the chair. The school I work at has just gotten rid of the last of theirs citing student comfort but I thought they were comfortable.
Kaption- I'll have to tell the school I work at that chalk and boards are a thing of the past. I would guess that 80% of the rooms I teach in still have them and in at least 50% they don't have anything else but a chalk board and a pull down screen.
I don't mind the chalk boards, especially the sliding ones - I enjoyhiding diagrams behind the other boards and then using them as a reference as I teach a topic over days. Also love hiding quizzes or polling questions behind them - whip it over and off to the races.

I'm glad to hear there are chalkboards in use!! I used white boards when I taught at the university level- just not the same.
So, ERASERS. Chalk or marker. (Chalk can certainly be easier to erase. And every time a marker runs out, you are throwing another piece of plastic into the landfill.
