Carole, maybe you could send a little of your heat this way. Well, the good news is the HVAC man will be here on Wednesday to begin installing the new furnace. If Murphy's Law kicks in as that seems to easy ( almost a sure thing in a way ) it will be in just in time for our warmer weather. It won't be a lot warmer, but we have been going to the earlier side of the 40's at night ---- and the house cools rapidly in the woods as this time of yr. with the sun not so strong -- the cooling cycle begins quicker which is late afternoon. Still, I hope it will help Dh not HAVE to have such a warm house --- it will also save on our heating bill although this winter we will be ok. They are though already aware that next season the fuel prices for propane will be much higher.

This yr. we are only paying $55.00 a month ( budget billing ) but have paid as much as $115.00 per month. Don't know whether to "bank" some money or not. Well, maybe in the meantime we will win the lottery and not have to worry so much about it.

Say hi to all and hugs all around for those that need them.

We all have within us a deep sense of what we need, and what
is right and true for us. To access this we need to pay attention
to our feelings and our intuition. We need to learn to listen
deeply to ourselves and to trust what we hear. And we need
to risk acting on what we feel to be true. Even if we make
mistakes, we must do this in order to learn and grow.

Good morning ladies. Went to see my PCP/onc yesterday. He in formed me a CT I HAD FOR GALL BLADDER ALSO SPOTTED AN Adenexal cyst, which he said, at my post menopausal age, can indicate cancer or mets. Have to have an ultra sound . He noted this was also seen in 2013. Neither time did anyone stop and inform me of this, until now! It is small but has grown since 2013. So I am anxious , to say the least. Asking for your prayers as I wait to get results. I did ask if he will be doing a CA125, which seems to be the usual path before removal/biopsey.

Bonnets good morning and so sorry about your medical report. I will pray for you right now. Keep us posted.

Good morning to all the rest of you warriors. I hope we all have a good day.

I am up and about to get ready for my post op appt with my PS. It's a 2 1/2 hr drive one way but my daughter is leaving work to pick me up later. I'm sore from all the extra incisional work under my arms but doing good with the implants. They feel almost like the real thing so far.

    Bonnets,

Thinking of you and sending prayers and lots of positive universe energies. I presume the Dr.'s concern is the finding that there has been some growth noted of this cyst. I guess I'd question --- if there was growth --- why wait till now to do a biopsy but I'm always that way. No matter what anyone says I seem to have some idea like --- why not check in '14 or '15. Sigh !!!! I definitely would want that CA-125 too.

Yes im upset that it was noted on 1 or 2 other cts and none of my drs said anything. I know it was on ct of 1/2015! I left a msg for my PCP/onc about doing a ca125. Doing an ultra sound on the 29th. As I research I think they will do a bio or remove it! Luckily it is only 2.6-2.3 cm. Still I'm quite nervous.

Jean- so sorry to hear your news. That is one of the things I hate most about follow-up after treatment. I had my yearly physical the other day and said to the PA "I feel fine now, but sure wish I could get a CT Scan or Petscan to verify that. Praying for good news and quick and complete healing. I think we all feel our stomachs fall to the floor, upset for you of course, but also "Will I be next?"

Wish I was closer so I could keep you company while you wait. Keeping good thoughts and sending hugs

Bonnets, the cyst could be benign and we're all rooting for that diagnosis. It's completely baffling that you weren't told when the cyst was first detected.

I was tired this morning after spending a very long day at the hospital yesterday. I think I mentioned that my mother was having a procedure to crush a very large kidney stone. Actual time in the or wasn't that long but I arrived at 7 am and didn't get home until about 4:30.

Today I did a little shopping including a stop at the supermarket. I found some brown Clark shoes at Shoe Carnival. That's one of the brands I can wear.

It's a beautiful day but supposed to warm up to 80 degrees this afternoon.

    Happy Wednesday

Grateful for a beauty of a day. Full Fall here, and while I hate that the furnace man couldn't come yesterday and get started --- it is a trifle and I know it. We are going to have a couple of seriously cold days, but then will re-warm and hopefully in that time period we will get our new furnace. Life works out even when it is on a level that we sometimes 'resist' a bit. So --- I'm not going to resist this beautiful day and hope and pray today is good for everyone.

    Good morning,

It looks nice outside for the moment, and it is even a good temp, but weather report said 60% chance of rain -- sounded like we could get a 'real' storm out of it all. We will see how it goes.

Lost one lens out of my glasses yesterday at work. This is the third time --- I guess it is telling me these glasses are getting too old. So, today I will go to Walmart and get an eye exam ( which I don't probably need ) which Walmart insists on --- and then new glasses. Hopefully this will stop the falling apart of the glasses I have. I liked them so much too. In fact, last eye exam at the V.A. I paid a bit to have their people make a template to cut to size the lens I needed. I had another pr. of glasses to use while this took place.

Anyway the old ones are a red color --- tried on dozens yesterday. Turns out another red pair turned up to the be winner. Unbeknownst to me apparently everyone the last two places I've "chosen" glasses seem to feel red is my color. Maybe it is my green eyes or.....who knows. So, I will end up with another pr. of red glasses.

Furnace man will likely make it ( we hope ) on Monday. His last job ( where he remains still ) had issues turn up. Mold behind their old furnace and it was found to extend through the floor and so has turned into a sort of massive undertaking. Cold weather is coming which is never wracking for us, but it shouldn't be too bad --- just mild discomfort. Dh finds it harder than I do as he is much cooler than I am. That's okay actually as it gives me a bit more time to sort some things --- and make more in-roads into getting some organization. Things do have a way of working out --- even if it sometimes strains the patience a bit.

New glasses are always fun, Jackie. I intend to put my new Rx into my existing sunglass frames, and Transitions into my dark tortoiseshell frames, which are only a few months old, and look for something fun or dressier in untinted anti-reflective. Gonna leave my Wayfarers "as is" (gradient, non-Rx). I have dark hazel eyes (olive green with amber “starburst”) which work with just about any color frames—though with my pale skin & blonde hair light tortoise or honey works best. I used to prefer rimless back when smaller lenses were in vogue, especially for performance—but frames actually hide my undereye bags. (Onstage, I don’t even need glasses any more). The chief reasons for lenses falling out, acc. to the optician at my local LensCrafters, is the plastic in the frames aging & losing its rigidity, or metal fatigue in metal frames.

Our storm came through in late morning—my sinuses and R arm told me even before the first thunderclap. Another one coming about 5:30 pm, and then the bottom falls out. Flurries in the a.m. and probably won’t get out of the 30s all weekend (windy, too). Not to mention having to wrestle a small suitcase on & off the L train tom’w and Sun. (Not gonna park—$35+, and parade/festival traffic tom’w). Rescued my remaining tomatoes from the vines before the storm hit. Will have enough on the sill to get us till Dec.

I was able to change my utra-sound appointment to this morning. Don't know when I will get the results. Not a fun procedure, as I had both types ! Thanks for the prayers and good wishes, still worried of course and not happy that no one picked up on this sooner. Am getting copies of the ct and sono reports, that saw the cyst last year and this summer.

    Hi all,
With all that is going on, I was surprised to see I only missed 4 pages since the first week of Nov.
Jean, I am praying for benign results. Waiting is hard. And usually no news comes over the week end. I will be checking in to see how you are.
Hang in there...we are in your pocket.
Seedsally, it sounds like your reconstruction is going smoothly. I cannot imagine going "back for more" after healing from surgery. But you will be happy with the results, I believe. Wishing you well.
Sandra, sorry to hear the hospital experience has not been as it should be. You and Mike have been through so much and really deserve a peaceful supportive environment. Sending prayers your way.

I was happy to see more talk about the Cubs than politics. That is how it should be here...I trust that there will be some people in high places with sound minds and experience and common sense. I truly believe that my day to day life will not change much if at all. But for many who use government programs or who have overstayed their Visas, it is quite stressful. I hope I can find a way to help those in need.

Now, those Cubs had me on the edge of my seat. My son went to Wrigleyville for Game 7 and was caught up in the celebration. He did go to the parade for awhile. He told me he is seeing the girlfriend who broke his heart a few months ago. He is cautious and I hope they can figure it out. He does not have a full time job right now but is working for his former employer helping to close out some business. He is coming home on Tuesday. I can't wait to see him.

Carole, I hope your mother is doing OK after the kidney stone procedure. Sometimes there is a lot of pain with stone and procedure; for others, little pain. I have a friend who is going through it now and it has been a very long time since she had her first scan. One large stone left.
You have been so attentive of your mother's needs. How nice it is that she got to visit at her home and see the grandkids.

Anne, I think if/when I retire, I will be traveling as you do to see my kids and grandkids who live so far. You really put on the miles. I hope your sister is doing OK. You are the binding force and a blessing to your family.

Jackie, enjoy those new red glasses. I love getting new lenses and having crystal clear vision. My eyes still are changing so I notice!
We are about to get that damp wet weather and possibly a snow shower this week end. We will put away the loose things in the yard that we have been enjoying...cushions, solar lights, torches, and hanging plants. I am one of the few who like the changing weather. I do not like the early darkness or the loss of leaves; but winter has its own beauty and brings the best stargazing opportunities.
    Hugs all around,

    Joan

Jackie, the red glasses frames sound "snazzy"! What fun to have colored frames.

Joan, I like your attitude about the seasons. We enjoy lighting our fireplace in cold gloomy weather.

Off to the gym and then to the nursing home. I promised to deliver some seafood gumbo for my mother's lunch. I'll pick it up on the way.

It's windy today and will be cooling off as a front comes through.

    Happy Saturday

What fun to come and find an entry from you Joan. You always are not only quite thoughtful, but cheerful too. So many here are. As for me ( not that I haven't adjusted ) I can barely keep in mind the post I just read let alone two or three pages of them. But that makes us all WHO we are --- and we all get to know, love and care about each other just the way we are.

It is a little brisk this a.m. I am going to truly appreciate that new furnace. Hope the guy can make it here on Monday. I think it will warm slightly --- though it is time for the mornings to be chilly --- maybe even a bit of frost, we will see.

Starting December I will only be working four days a week. My patient will go on Medicaid ( tragic in a way that you must use up your entire savings to stay in a nursing home these days ) so some cost cutting measures are needed. It will end up being good for me. I have struggled to keep up with a lot here at home --- and having some interrupted time to be productive will help a lot. So -- a bright spot for all.

Hopefully Dh will find some time ( this is a busy time of yr. pretty much ) to take care of our yard full of leaves. He may have to teach me how to use that new gizmo he has -- but I'm not anxious to learn. I really feel like I have enough to do as it is, but I do understand that if you only have one day off --- it is hard to use it on hard/tedious work at home. We will see.

The sun it out so it is going to be a good day even if a bit cooler than I prefer. Hope you are all going to have a delightful day.

    Hi Ladies

Welcome to all the new members. Sorry for the reason you are joining us here. This is a great group of ladies to get to know and to chat with. There is always someone here that can answer the questions we ask. It is also a great place to vent with the things that most people can not understand how we feel unless they have gone through this themselves

Carole, I hope your mother is doing OK after the kidney stone procedure.

Jackie, your red glasses sound pretty

Jean, sending good thoughts and prayers

Sandra, sending prayers that everything starts to look up for you and Mike

I havent been on for awhile. Went back to illinois ot babysit grandkids for a week, then brought to back to vacation in Siesta Keys with us for two weeks and ds and another grandson came the second week. Nice weather and a lot of fun. Still trying to finish putting our house together. Not sure really what I want for end tables and other decor items. Bought a picture for the livingroom, love the picture but not big enough for the area I wanted it for. Now looking for another picture that just pops out to me.Having a mamogram in two weeks. A little nervous about this one since I have been having some soreness in the area that they have been watching in the other breast. Hopefully, just a pulled something or other.

Hope everyone is enjoying this weekend

Beautiful day here, cool and sunny. My onc called with the sono results, probably a folliculae cyst, which is not usually cancer. Says it is fairly unusual in post menopausal women. Will see my gyn Dec 9 and see what she says. I'd like her to do a CA125. Thanks for everyones prayers and wishes. Am breathing a little easier now.

sounds good Bonnets Thinking of Changing Oncologists Big decision for me Wanted to know what everyone's oncologist does at their visits Mine takes blood and checks for markers, gives me a breast exam and scripts for meds and scans. I get a mammogram and ultra sound every year and an Mri 6 months from the mammogram and ultrasound. The first two years after diagnosis visits are every three months. Is this what your oncologists do? Thank you for your responses. Nanagir

Nana, My MO is still seeing me every 6 months. My breast surgeon orders my 3D mammo once/yr and U/S if needed. My BS was seeing me every 6 months for the first two yrs. My MO usually just gives me an exam, asks questions, writes a script for Tam and sends me on my way.

    Bonnets, great news!
