I think we are getting sun today -- a little later, but sure hope it does come. I went to the car wash yesterday only to find that they apparently have upped the $5.00 car wash to $6.00. Hoping I read it wrong ( don't think I did ) but I didn't have any ones on me --- so had to leave. I'll get some change today and go back. It is actually due to be warmer somewhat today anyway.
Had a lot more wind yesterday which kept the temps. from feeling too good. Hoping for a really good day for everyone.

Wow—$6 for a car wash? Ours charges $13, more for SUVs or minivans. (But it’s a hand wash—the automatics cost about what you’re paying).

Yes, I go to the automatics -- the others are too costly for me. I'd love to have my car detailed but that is really costly. They likely wouldn't suit me, but I could be wrong. I detail my own car and I really do work the whole thing over pretty good -- door jams ( 4 doors ) all molding, all interior surfaces, vac the glove compartment and all side and storage pockets --- it is almost a full days work and I'm usually worn out when done, but the next day going somewhere convinces me it was all worth it.
I never got the ones ( too lazy ) so I treatment myself to the full service automatic for $10.00. Looking pretty good now. Rain, rain, don't come now okay.

I can't use the automatics because I can't disable the collision avoidance system, which stops the car washes that use mobile tracks and prevents those drying systems using cloth strips (where you are instructed to drive forward through them). The CAS sees these mechanisms as “obstacles." Disabling the CAS is an involved process that must be done with the engine on in a specific sequence, that takes too long to get into & through the wash w/o incident. And it resets to “on" every time you restart the car. The only automatics I can use are the Mobil “On the Run" ones at the Tollway Oases, where you drive in, shut off the engine, and don't turn it back on the car is fully dried, and the exit door opens so you can drive out. (The entire wash & dry apparatus does the moving, not the car). To get there, I'd spend as much extra on gas to bring the price up to the neighborhood hand wash—which cleans & vacuums all interior surfaces; and whose waiting room gives me my choice of free hot beverages, cookies, a parakeet to watch and a TV.

Another day of not being quite sure what weather we will have, and I'm still hoping rain won't be a part of it. I'm feeling fairly good now with the sinus issues, but I'll be taking the meds ( Loratidine ) for a bit to hopefully not turn around and flare. Still a little shocked by getting hit so late in the season. Actually, in a fairly short while ( not really quite soon enough for me though ) Spring will be here and I'll be dosing again for sure. Our cars when sitting out in Spring just get a greenish/yellow haze from all the pollen drifting through the air -- but glad it is not smog I'm complaining about as I can do more about the pollen.

The weather here in sunny Fl today is the reason so many people choose to live here. Absolutely gorgeous.
My three babies officially moved last night, I think. I'm pretty sure I heard Jamie tell her them they were sleeping in Lake Placid last night. No official notice, and she got here right as the older one got home from school and was gone in less than 10 minutes. Didn't even get to hug them, which was probably the best for all of us. We would have been one major mess. I am holding it together because she left a lot of laundry here. I told her if my brother doesn't come down tomorrow, I would head up to her and help sort through the mess and help her get settled. She was very adamant that she wasn't ready for that- that every room was filled, but not with stuff that should be. I had to laugh- this is not her first move. Her idea of packing is to put boxes in the living room and as you pass the boxes, anything in your hand, or in your sight goes in a box. Any one box could have clothes, towels, pots, canned goods, toys, etc. She has probably 25 boxes like that. ThAts why I waNt to help. Left to her, it means the boxes will move around the apartment without ever getting unpacked. They'll grab stuff out of them as they either see or need a specific item, but it it's an item they need, 10 boxes will be moved and mixed up until they find what they are looking for.
Been doing a lot of the Serenity prayer n my mind. God help me to change what I can, leave what I can't and the wisdom to know the difference. Sure hope my brother comes tomorrow. The busier I am, the better I'll be. Yesterday, I was looking for seasonal rentals in a Lake Placid. If they are successful there, I may just move her myself. That's a year away from even thinking about.

I played golf and wasn't tired when the round was over. That speaks to the nice course conditions.
The rest of the week is supposed to be just as pleasant. Tomorrow my younger sister and I plan to go out to lunch with my mother. I will pick up my mother at the nursing home and we'll meet my sister at the restaurant. This will be my mother's first outing (other than a doctor's appointment) since Christmas Day.
Jackie, my little car badly needs washing. I would have to pay $25 to take it to the car wash place that used to charge $13, then $15, then $25. They priced themselves out of my business. Now I wash it and clean the interior myself but not often

Threatening to storm here all day—deep gray clouds hovering over the lake, with snow flurries despite the dashboard thermometer reading “41.” That explains what my sinuses have been doing to me since midnight: like someone trying to blow up a balloon inside my nose and behind my eyes. Little-to-no dripping, through. I have a call into North Shore’s Center for Voice Disorders to get an appt. with a singer-specific ENT; I have the pitches in my range back but the quality is muffled (no resonance) and I can’t sustain a note. I want to get laryngoscopy to rule out any damage my coughing may have done to my vocal cords.

Hopes it goes well for you Sandy -- just yikes. I have had a bit of slight ( not too bad ) raspy feeling back of the throat. Not increasing though so I think it will be fine with some patience on my part.

Carole, If you're patient long enough some group will be washing cars for money. I'm too claustrophobic for car washes. Can't stand it when the machine is right on me.
Sandy, hope your throat is just tired, not damaged. I mixed up a saline solution and put it in a spray bottle. It does a good job of loosening everything up in the morning. It's cold and dry which always bothers my nose.

Just wanted to let everyone know thatthe reseult came back from the stereotactic biopsy and I went to dr and it showed as necrosis and everything they said is ok.

Munnybunni, what good news. I'm happy that this has turned out well for you. Now back to your regularly scheduled life.
It is a lot cooler today, but thank goodness the sun is out much stronger and the sky looks pretty clear. Hope that means sun all day long. I need my Vit. D from that big yellow orb along with the totally mood enhancing as a greatly needed side effect. So, I'm happy. My car is clean, there was news of positive biopsy and so I say --- let the high notes take place.
Thinking of Sandra and Mike and hoping you are both hanging in there.

Oh Anne, your heart must be breaking. I know about that wall that goes up when it hurts too much to feel the pain. I have no grandkids nearby. I was so close with the New Jersey daughter's kids and they were 2 hours...but they moved away and now are five hours. I have no idea what they do each day....I used to go to NJ for all their activities. I miss them terribly. I do not hear from them and I call them once in awhile. My DD is getting divorced so when I call they are sometimes with their Dad. And DD has a boyfriend with a daughter so now I must always incorporate this new child. She is sweet, but it isn't the same.
Most of all, Anne, you have a right to be concerned for your grandkids. I hope they get to spend lots of time with you and feel your love and guidance. I am also happy to hear your other DD is cooling it with the boyfriend. She will know it is not right, given her history.
As for your brother's kidney stone, my brother has had one for many months. It seems the latest approach is to "let it pass". If it doesn't then surgery occurs. He had a lot of pain and I think just had surgery. I hope your brother finds out he can travel and have his medical insurance. Sending prayers your way, Anne.Carole, I hope the weather is favorable for your golf outings. It is so nice to hear that you are giving your mom a chance to get out and spend time with her daughters.
Jackie so nice to hear you had some days off. It feels good to have a day at home to just relax a little then catch up on many things. And thanks again for being here each day!

Good morning Ladies. It's a balmy 16 here this morning. Most of our snow is gone, had so little. Weird winter!
Reading about grand kids living near. If you have them you are lucky. My son is in Vegas with no kids, the others live in MAryland and Texas , with one in Washington state , in the Army! My daughter who passed, used to say, "you raised us to be independent and now you are complaining! " I responded , "that was before I had grand kids!" We are lucky to see them once a year. Used to be we went to see our Grandparents, now it seems to be the reverse! With DH sleep apnea we are driving less, which my daughter doesn't seem to understand. Was closest to my daughter, who died, and the others I mostly keep up with on Facebook posts, if they post. So if you got em close and hear from them, count your blessings!

I was 68 when diagnosed and operated on back in 2016. found lump (hurt) march and operated on april 1st. from what I have been able to learn, men are suseptable to breast cancer between 65 and 70 years old, when the bodys fat starts turning testosterone to estrogen. Yes, I am a guy, a guy with stage 4 breast cancer.

Oh gosh, that good old sun is out again this morning. Despite it all I'm not a sun 'worshiper' but need it to avoid grayness outside which so bothers me. I do enjoy at times getting the pure VIT D from the sun though I am told that only works if you are nude -- Really !!! At my age that certainly is highly un-likely. I liken this to when I finally developed an actual taste/desire for lettuce salad --- only to find that JUST lettuce only produced roughage, not the vitamins and minerals of the wide range of lettuce-type darker greens that we have. SIGH !!!! Life has some complications, but we all keep going.
Knock on wood all of our troubles are light -- especially in that my view-point is that challenges/troubles have a way of helping us grow though it may take time to be able to recognize that our biggest growth periods seem to happen in heavy stress and confusion. So hope we can all take a few minutes in the day to sit down, take a few deep breaths and count our blessings -- those we already have and maybe think on a few we'd like to receive.

Cliff, Welcome to our group. All the attention goes to women with BC, but a large number of men get it as well. Maybe if everything wasn't pink, people would be more aware. And being stage 4 sucks no matter age or gender. Will you be having chemo? Come back any time.

no chemo, I was setup with a "power port" and told I would be on chemo and radiation after my surgery, but I am on tamafloxin and a monthly exgiva shot. I got quite a few strange looks in the womans centers where I was sent for tests and scans. probably the biggest and harriest on the surgery table too.

Cliff, Sorry for the reason you joined in with us, but happy to have you on board. Most of us, as women, have realized that there are some parts of this tough journey that only someone who has experienced those moments can understand. Being a male with BC, I am sure it is even tougher to find people who have walked in your shoes. While none of us have had all your experiences, I am pretty sure we can relate to most of the emotions and/or your physical and medical issues. Please visit often, and jump in on any topic raised here.
They were not able to use the laser on my brother's kidney stone, because the stone had progressed to the urethra. So he had it removed yesterday. He texted me that it was done, and he was tired. They had to put some kind of stent or something in where the stone was for a few days to trick the kidney into thinking that the stone is still there, so it doesn't release another one. They are removing that on Mon, and he says he will be here by Wed. Last time we talked, his daughter was going to drive down with him so he is not alone on the 9-11 hr drive.
Haven't seen or heard from the crew moving to Lake Placid since Tues. To say I am totally devastated doesn't even come close. The parents bothborder on being emotionally abusive, especially with their 8 yr old son. Enough at least that he thought running away was his only option last week. What child runs away and goes to their school to just walk around the empty halls? I am sure, in his eyes that I have failed him totally-I know that's how I feel. I have abandoned him when I told him I loved him and would always be there for him. Empty promises! I don't even know where they are- the warehouse or Lake Placid? I have no idea what their address is in Lake Placid. I am trying to let go and let a God, but not being very good at that.
