I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know that just to be alive is a grand thing.

Maybe I should post this on "What's For Dinner' but it is sort of political. My DH found this at the produce store and thought it looked like Nixon. Eggplant parmigiana for dinner tonight

Elderberry, I think your husband is correct and Nixon parmigiana sounds good. I appreciate his sense of humor and ability to pick eggplant. LOL.

The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely, or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quite alone with the heavens, nature, and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. As long as this exists, and it certainly always will, I know that there will always be comfort for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances may be.

Oh for goodness sakes, if I were offended because a fictional character was black, I would for sure keep that opinion to myself. I wouldn't want people to know that I was both racist and extremely stupid!

When humility enters our souls, we are at last able
to perceive that we do not live alone in the world
but with millions of brothers and sisters, and that hidden
in the heart of each is the same animating spirit.

I think the Loon -- not only letting the con and creep come out in the Reps. full blown, has also encouraged them to show their sttupidity to the max, and boy do they ever.

Glad to wake up to the news that a tentative agreement has been made with railroad laborers:

CNN: Biden made a key phone call to Labor Secretary Marty Walsh at 9 p.m. as the talks were ongoing after Italian dinner had been brought in, according to a White House official insisting on anonymity. The president told the negotiators to consider the harm to families, farmers and businesses if a shutdown occurred.

What resulted from the back and forth was a tentative agreement that will go to union members for a vote after a post-ratification cooling off period of several weeks.

"These rail workers will get better pay, improved working conditions, and peace of mind around their health care costs: all hard-earned," Biden said.

The threat of a shutdown had put Biden in a delicate spot politically.
The Democratic president believes unions built the middle class, but he also knew a rail worker strike could damage the economy ahead of the midterms

That left him in the awkward position on Wednesday. He flew to Detroit to espouse the virtues of unionization, while members of his administration went all-out to keep talks going in Washington between the railroads and unionized workers.

    >>> As the administration was trying to forge peace, United Auto Workers Local 598 member Ryan Buchalski introduced Biden at the Detroit auto show on Wednesday as "the most union- and labor-friendly president in American history" and someone who was "kickin' ass for the working class."

As for that last line in my post above, I think “Kickin’ ass for the working class” is a great slogan for Biden and should be on tshirts, billboards, buttons and signs.

Notice what happens when you doubt, suppress, or act contrary to
your feelings. You will observe decreased energy, powerless or
helpless feelings, and physical or emotional pain. Now notice what
happens when you follow your intuitive feelings. Usually the result
is increased energy and power and a sense of natural flow. When
you're at one with yourself, the world feels peaceful, exciting, and magical.

Ron DeSantis was an ' orange loving ' a** before and he is just showing more of his inability to connect properly with how a huge majority of Americans think and feel. I feel for anyone who can't connect, but they are dangerous and destruction because when your too orange, you think the world if your oyster and yours alone. It just won't work that way in this world.
