It's like me burning down my house because I need to remodel my kitchen.

I'd like to ask the Trump voters if they'd like some cheese with that whine. Too bad they have to take the rest of us down with the ship. He told everyone what he planned to do!!

    And here's another view:

MSNBC host Michael Steele launched a fiery tirade on Saturday morning during a discussion on whether the courts can rein in Donald Trump and Elon Musk, and then ended up attacking both Democrats and Republicans for not forcefully pushing back.

After "The Weekend" co-host Alicia Menendez read from a report from The Nation stating the courts cannot "save us," the former RNC chair went off.

who brings his son into the Oval Office, whose son says to him, 'You're not the president, you shouldn't be in that chair.' Now, where did he get that from? He got it from his daddy, because that's what his daddy thinks of the man who brought him into the Oval Office."

"So I'd just like to see somebody wake the hell up and get excited about the fact that your country is under assault!" he exclaimed. "They're not at the gate anymore, they're in your bedrooms they're in your living rooms, they're in your businesses, they got your data, dumba--es, they got all your stuff."

"Elon Musk has his tentacles in everything you're doing, not just off of X, but now he's in the Treasury Department, he's in the Labor Department, he's in the Department of Homeland Security and nobody seems to give a damn," he added. "So that's all I want. Somebody to show that they care enough to get off their fat ass and say something about it."

When co-host Menendez attempted to interject and point the finger at complicit Republicans, Steele shot back, "The hell with Republicans! They're not going to do anything, they're the problem!"

We need to remember that nice guys who are too quiet are almost sure to finish last. There is some fighting back but too much of it may be in the slower quarters in court. The more speaking out and more pressure that is applied, over and over and over will move the needle. There has to be loud no's and as much pressure as possible — and not just in the courts.

Michael Steele is right. While a few Reps. here and there are going to say something or even do something in the courts it is not nearly enough. The media is being allowed to be complicit as well. Of course a lot of them are owned by the right wing. If we want to stand some chance of getting back what we are losing we cannot be quiet and docile.

Just to clarify a statement made above. Snopes is not sure about some of the things that the 'child' in the
WH where he didn't really belong said. That said though kids mimic what they hear the parents say — so the fact that a couple of things sounded derogatory towards Trump I would not have trouble believing. Musk would have no trouble letting his son know who the real BOSS is and that is exactly how it looked and sounded. I hope lots of people were watching M. Steele. I saw him but was busy with breakfast and didn't catch his whole rant.

Have not been watching, but Dh insists on the programs he wants and once in a while I do catch a few items but generally look to some other areas for my news.

This is an analysis by the Brennan Center about the SAVE Act which passed the House with 5 Democrats signing on. Proof of citizenship, ie a birth certificate or passport or naturalization certificate with a name corresponding to their voter registration name will have to be physically presented. This will be problematic for those voters without easy access to these documents, to women who changed their names at marriage and it could also eliminate mail-in voting. https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/analysis-opinion/save-act-would-undermine-voter-registration-all-americans

Gratefulness brings joy to my life.  How could I feel joy in what I take for granted?  So I stop taking for granted, and there is not end to the surprises I find.  A grateful attitude is a creative one, because, in the final analysis, opportunity is the gift within the gift of every moment-- the opportunity to see and hear and smell and touch and taste with pleasure.

Just sitting here wondering if Stephen Smith or some other Reps. dolt wrote this out for Donnie Dementia. He who writes crap like that is as looney as the person it was written for.

Doesn't make a lot a whole lot of what Reagan did do any better. That is when my life changed drastically and I never totally got it back. But at least Reagan didn't spend the whole time kissing up to Russia.

Now trying to hire these people back, but that's not going well since all the records (people's phone contact numbers) were scrubbed at the same time as the firings. Could you make it any clearer that you are one of the ineptest people on Earth to be let loose on a government you don't know much about Musk.

Truth is not only believing the above but also believing those who have been politicians for yrs. and got wealthy Are ALWAYS looking out for our best interests. Theirs' are coming first. A few may be above it but only a few.

I can't blame Kerry Kennedy one bit. How sad but goes to show anyone can fall for conspiracies and be misguided by non-professionals and others who don't or won't rely on trained people with scientific evidence. How destructive to put your own family in a position of having to show great and grave disdain for your behavior.

Yes, that would be great. Nothing like making a fool of yourself on the European stage — because hey, doing it at home isn't all that much fun. Need to spice it up.

Some truth if I ever heard it.

Some days you don't know where to start. I know we aren't hearing a whole lot about regret just yet, but I do think there may be a lot swirling around. There are I think a whole lot of Reps. who have been able to do fairly well for themselves in their working careers (this fits a few of the people I grew up with) and they are not saying much — yet. I would say they are the die-hard I'll never give up my Republican label for anything. They will keep their 'registrations' but at some point they too will notice a lack. When grocery prices go a bit too far, even for them, or insurance doesn't quite get it anymore, or any number of things like fuel prices that hurt them for their best friends.

I don't know that they will stand up and say no — I'd be more inclined to think many might say not much at all but silently choose not to be any help at all to the' cause'. There is a lot of difference this time in how 'structure' or getting rid of structure is taking place. I would almost think it possible that karma allowed all three branches to go to Reps. so that it could become highly evident as to where we are at. Just remains to be seen if we all understand the message correctly and act on it correctly. That's the kicker in it. Fingers crossed.

Democrats need to play a little dirty here — because for the other side, it's all they do.
