Just because we need to be reminded of what 'normal' should look like:

Ruth, I not only like it, but I also love it. I also had a lot of love for JFK as our President at the time. I think his brother would have been fine as well but the Kennedy's were destined for horrid forms of notoriety in being assassinated. I admired Rose Kennedy. She somehow managed to pick herself up and go on under so many dire life events.

Ruth, on the order of you can catch more flies with honey than you can vinegar. One can disagree in a polite fashion as well as say no.
Watching Trump and some of the others verbally trying to make all others smaller and much more insignificant is hard to take as all odious people are. It is not always that Trump and others take things away, but that they verbally beat people to pieces as they do it. They offer no balm of any kind and apparently don't truly comprehend how distasteful they have become to so many.No one could personify an uncaring and heedless destruction better. For some reason all of this brings Beatles song to my mind. "Money Can't Buy You Love" and being a bully, impossible.

Thom is one of them, but as much as I might feel for them, they did vote for just this thing. Some lessons will be coming very hard.

BREAKING: SignalGate scandal goes nuclear as it's revealed that incompetent MAGA National Security Advisor Mike Waltz used at least 20 different vulnerable Signal chats to discuss sensitive issues — ranging from Ukraine, to China, to the Middle East.
This crisis just got so much worse for Donald Trump...
According to at least four people who were personally added to Waltz's harebrained Signal chats, the topics discussed included Ukraine, China, Gaze, the Middle East more broadly, Africa, and Europe.
All four said that the conversations included sensitive national security details.
It's been pointed out repeatedly by digital security experts at this point, but Signal is an incredibly dangerous means of communication for a National Security Advisor because it's highly susceptible to foreign intelligence agencies.
Two of the sources stated that they were included in or have direct knowledge of at least 20 such chats, meaning that the actual number could be even higher. Clearly, Waltz either doesn't care about security breaches or isn't smart enough to realize the risks.
"It was commonplace to stand up chats on any given national security topic," revealed one source involved in the chats. They explained that group chat often included Cabinet members and high-level staff — in other words, people that should have known better.
Waltz was the same person who accidentally added the Atlantic's Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg to a group chat in which Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Vice President J.D. Vance, and others were discussing war plans to attack the Houthis in Yemen.
"Waltz built the entire NSC communications process on Signal," said one of the sources.
"This is a bunch of folks who have never been here before and couldn’t switch from campaign mode," explained a former Trump administration official.
Now we know why so many members of the Trump administration have reportedly referred to Mike Waltz as a "f*cking idiot." It's time for him to resign, along with anyone else involved in these disastrous chats.
This Walz guy is like many of the rest of them — so lacking in brain cells they would never even get a clue of why they should leave. He's an over my dead body guy if I ever saw one.

BREAKING: An analyst for CNBC breaks down Donald Trump's disastrous tariffs so that even MAGA voters can understand: "I've never seen anything like it" and it's "worse than the worst case scenario."
Trump's economic dark age is upon us...
Today, Trump finally unveiled his new slate of tariffs and they are a recipe for collapse. They include 10% tariffs on almost all goods coming into the United States with even higher tariffs on select nations. The price of everything is about to skyrocket.
The European Union, Mexico, Canada, China, Japan, and South Korea have already promised to retaliate to the US tariffs, meaning that prices will rise even more.
Dow Jones futures lost 1.8%, S&P futures fell 3%, and NASDAQ futures plummeted 3.8% after the announcement. Company specific stocks are also in free fall with Apple losing 6% and Nike losing 7%. Gap dropped 12%.
"The market reaction after hours, I've never seen anything like it," said the CNBC analyst. "This, I think fair to say, is worse than the worst case scenario of the tariffs that many in the market expected the president to impose."
"You laid out a number of the percentages there and there's some question of how the administration calculated the percentages that they're responding to in each of these cases," he continued. "Are they adding in value added taxes? He talked about you know, non-tariff barriers as well."
"So I think while many were hoping that this would eliminate uncertainty, there's going to be more uncertainty in the market and from those watching policy tomorrow," he went on.
"Well, if you know if countries push back on how these non-tariff barriers were calculated will there be wiggle room here?" he continued "Exactly when do these go into effecT? How quickly are companies going to have to adjust their pricing? So many questions."
Trump has claimed that these ill-advised tariffs will stop foreign countries from "taking advantage" of us and build up American manufacturing.
In reality, all they will accomplish is the impoverishing and immiseration of tens of millions of Americans. All of our former allies will see that we are no longer a stable trading partner and will turn to places like China to forge new relationships.
We have become the world's pariah and gained nothing in the process.
Makes me want to throw up.

Don’t look now, but Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariff announcement is destroying your 401ks and retirement accounts.

The only way anyone could stay calm over this is if for some reason they had total lobotomies.

Where's the vomit button when you need it? He has truly lost it and his supporters still fall in line to kiss the ring. Disgusting and so glad I did not watch him today. I can't stomach hearing his whine.
