Every time I see the Oval Office now I want to 'puke'. Disgusting and embarrassing and sadly what Trump thinks makes him above the rest. Trump is CHEAP Gold Plate and not much else.

The Loon's way and the Republican way - a match.

All the way.

Yes, day after day, every time, all the time. The Loon is a loser — always. Never been any other way.

That's right — Follow the law or get out and let someone who will take over. We don't need lawbreakers as leaders.

I started voting straight tickets after I saw how Pres. Obama was treated after his first election. (Recall Mitch McConnell attempting to make him a one-term president) and I have very much continued. It is not that I don't think there are still some decent Reps. so much as I think there are not near enough to make a difference.

BREAKING: Bill Gates drops an atom bomb on Elon Musk's reputation, accuses him of "killing the world’s poorest children" by cutting USAID — and announces that he's donating his remaining $100 billion to the Gates Foundation to save lives.
He's really putting his money where his mouth is...
"The picture of the world’s richest man killing the world’s poorest children is not a pretty one. I’d love for him to go in and meet the children that have now been infected with HIV because he cut that money," Gates told the Financial Times.
Back in February, Musk's now widely reviled DOGE initiative shut down the US Agency for International Development, which Gates said resulted in food and medicine expiring inside warehouses. It also directly contributed to an explosion in measles, HIV, and polio outbreaks.
Musk and Republicans hated USAID because it was a government expenditure that actually helped poor people and although they won't admit it, they believe that tax dollars should only go towards tax cuts for the super rich.
Gates went into some detail in his conversation with FT, and explained that Musk gutted the grants to a hospital in Gaza, Mozambique that was preventing women from transmitting HIV to their babies.
Musk and other Republicans — either through ignorance or intentional misrepresentation — claimed that condoms were actually going to Gaza in Palestine.
Musk later admitted that he was incorrect about the Gaza-condoms situation, saying "some of the things that I say will be incorrect." Of course, in his case everything he says is incorrect.
"I’d love for him to go in and meet the children that have now been infected with HIV because he cut that money," said Gates.
Gates announced that he is going to spend nearly his entire fortune to help the world over the next two decades and estimates that his foundation will spend over $200 billion on global health, development, and education, after which it will shutter for good.
He stated that he plans to leave less than 1% of his wealth to his children and that he strongly supports a robust estate tax and "much more progressive taxation" to prevent families from accumulating "dynastic wealth."
"People will say a lot of things about me when I die, but I am determined that ‘he died rich’ will not be one of them. There are too many urgent problems to solve," he stated in a letter explaining his decisions.
Gates said that the accelerated rate of spending from the foundation could result in the total eradication of polio or a cure for HIV.
"It gives us clarity," said the Microsoft founder. "We’ll have a lot more money because we’re spending down over the 20 years, as opposed to making an effort to be a perpetual foundation."
Gates also slammed Trump's decision to appoint anti-vaxxer RFK Jr. to be his Health Secretary, stating that he "attacked vaccines, and specifically my role . . . with a lot of falsehoods."
Both Gates and his divorced wife Melinda have done wonderful things. Some people like them, and some criticize but it is always that way. When someone is able but not only that, entirely willing to help us I will look to the good side and ignore naysaying.

History in the making! In a historic first, Chicago-born Robert Francis Prevost has been elected Pope Leo XIV, becoming the first American pope. Known for his focus on listening and inclusion, and for being close with Pope Francis, Prevost’s pastoral approach raises hopes he will carry forward Pope Francis’s legacy on climate action, social justice, and care for the world’s poor. While he hasn’t made major LGBTQ+ statements yet, his reputation for openness suggests a potential push for greater compassion and inclusion — something progressive Catholics worldwide are eager to see.
Robert Francis Prevost was born in Chicago in 1955 and joined the Augustinian order in his youth. He spent many years as a missionary in Peru, where he served as bishop of Chiclayo, focusing on pastoral outreach and social justice, especially among the poor. Prevost was later called to Rome, where he became prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops in 2023, one of the most powerful roles in the Vatican. Known for his deep commitment to listening, dialogue, and pastoral care, Prevost’s work in Peru shaped his passion for serving marginalized communities and addressing global poverty
How nice to have an American Pope. I am not Catholic. I do not now participate in any organized religion, but I definitely think it has its place in the world. I am not against any religion as long as it is not a cult. I consider at this time in life I'm more spiritual than religious — so I'm okay with a majority of religions.

On his way to helping no one as usual. At least you can rely on him for one thing — his ability to take what you have, no matter how little it might be. What a legacy…

BREAKING: MAGA world melts down as the Catholic Church elects American Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost to become Pope Leo XIV — a man who has slammed Donald Trump and J.D. Vance in the past.
Republicans wanted a far-right pope and instead they got a continuation of Pope Francis' legacy...
In February, then-Cardinal Prevost shared a piece on X entitled "JD Vance is wrong: Jesus doesn't ask us to rank our love for others" in which the author pushed back on Vance's claim that Christians should love their family first, then their neighbor, then their community, then their fellow citizens, then the rest of the world.
Vance was attempting to twist Catholic theology to defend his virulent anti-migrant views by suggesting that Christians don't have to prioritize care for anyone beyond their immediate familial circle.
The then-Cardinal also retweeted a message slamming Trump and El Salvadoran Dictator Nayib Bukele for the "illicit" deportation of innocent Maryland father Kilmar Abrego Garcia and the "suffering" caused by MAGA deportation policy.
On top of that, he shared an article from the conservative American Cardinal Timothy Dalton entitled "Why Donald Trump’s anti-immigrant rhetoric is so problematic" which condemned the "nativism" espoused by the MAGA movement. The piece also stated that Christians should see "the immigrant as a gift to our nation" and "welcome the stranger."
Pope Leo XIV is expected to carry on his predecessor's legacy of advocating for action on climate action, upholding social justice, and caring for the global poor. In other words, he will stand for everything that MAGA opposes.
Trump himself has already reacted to the announcement with a pro forma congratulations message on Truth Social that was likely written by a staffer.
"Congratulations to Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, who was just named Pope. It is such an honor to realize that he is the first American Pope," wrote Trump's account. "What excitement, and what a Great Honor for our Country. I look forward to meeting Pope Leo XIV. It will be a very meaningful moment!"
Once Trump gets a better sense of Pope Leo XIV's beliefs — namely that Christians are called to love and care for all of the people of the world, not just white conservatives — the president will likely be singing a very different tune. If and when that attack comes, we will proudly stand with Pope Leo's love and kindness against Trump's hatred and cruelty.
