BREAKING: National Public Radio (NPR) hits Donald Trump with a massive lawsuit after he issues an authoritarian executive order targeting public broadcasting funding — a blatant violation of the First Amendment.

    And it gets even better...

"NPR will never agree to this infringement of our constitutional rights, or the constitutional rights of our Member stations, and NPR will not compromise our commitment to an independent free press and journalistic integrity," stated NPR CEO Katherine Maher, calling the order "unlawful."

Trump signed the order earlier this month, directing his Republican-controlled Congress to gut funding from NPR and PBS because he despises their fact-based approach to reality. Any outlet that refuses to magnify MAGA lies is a viewed as a threat.

The lawsuit was filed in federal court in Washington D.C. and argues that the order in question "flatly contravenes statutes duly enacted by Congress and violates the Separation of Powers and the Spending Clause by disregarding Congress’s express commands. It also violates the First Amendment’s guarantees of freedom of speech and of the press."

"The Order’s objectives could not be clearer," it reads. "The Order aims to punish NPR for the content of news and other programming the President dislikes and chill the free exercise of First Amendment rights by NPR and individual public radio stations across the country."

This must be the line in the sand. If we allow Trump to dismantle free speech like this and terrorize any outlets that refuse to push his Republican view of the world we will never recover as a democracy. Make your voice heard.

BREAKING: Donald Trump escalates his fascist assault on Harvard University as it leaks that the White House will soon send a letter to federal agencies ordering them to "identify any contracts with Harvard, and whether they can be canceled or redirected elsewhere."

    And it gets even worse...

A senior administration official informed ABC News of the plans, which comes amidst Trump's escalating war against the legendary university. Harvard is still refusing to provide the MAGA administration with data on its international students, a bold and commendable decision.

The letter, which ABC News acquired a copy of, claims that being a federal contractor "comes with the deep responsibility and commitment to abide by all federal laws and ensure the safeguarding of taxpayer money."

It alleges that Harvard University "continues to engage in race discrimination, including in its admissions process and in other areas of student life," constituting yet another assault on DEI from this administration.

Of course, these allegations are just pretext. Trump wants to bring Harvard to heel so that he can mutate it into another bastion of MAGA policy and thought. This is about his accumulation of raw power.

The letter orders federal agencies to compile their list of Harvard contracts and suggest action to take by June 6th.

The attacks have been relentless. Over the weekend, Trump launched another prong of his institutional siege by threatening to strip $3 billion in allocated funds from Harvard and funnel it to other schools.

Last week, Harvard filed a lawsuit challenging Trump's authoritarian and blatantly unconstitutional executive ordered that barred the school from teaching international students.

One need not care about Harvard as a school to care about this issue. This is a story about gross White House overreach, about a president who isn't content to simply tank the global economy with tariffs and alienate our allies on the world stage. He won't be satisfied until he controls every aspect of American society.

If we don't stand up now, it will soon be too late to do anything at all.

A great need to heed this warning

BREAKING: King Charles III of the United Kingdom enrages MAGA world by proclaiming that Canada will remain "strong and free" amidst Donald Trump's efforts to turn it into the "51st state."

    And it gets even better...

"The ‘True North’ is indeed strong and free," Charles said during an address on the first day of Canadian Parliament. The British King is Canada's nonpartisan head of state even though the real power resides with the Prime Minister.

"Every time I come to Canada, a little more of Canada seeps into my bloodstream and from there straight to my heart," the king said.

"I’ve always had the greatest admiration for Canada’s unique identity, which is recognized across the world for bravery and sacrifice in defense of national values and for the diversity and kindness of Canadians," he added.

While Charles did not mention Donald Trump by name, it was clear that he was referring to the American president during one particular section of his speech.

"Canada faces another critical moment. Democracy, pluralism, the rule of law, self-determination and freedom are values which Canadians hold dear and ones which the government is determined to protect,” Charles said.

Democracy, pluralism, the rule of law, self-determination, and freedom are all self-evidently under threat from Donald Trump who is an authoritarian, a xenophobe, a convicted felon, a neo-imperialist, and a would-be dictator.

The king's remarks come amidst Trump's pointless and economically destructive trade war with our northern neighbor. There are 25% tariffs in place on many Canadian goods with similar policies in place on Mexico as well.

"We must face reality: since the Second World War, our world has never been more dangerous and unstable. Canada is facing challenges that, in our lifetimes, are unprecedented," said Charles.

He observed that "many Canadians are feeling anxious and worried about the drastically changing world around them."

While the king's speech was provided by the Canadian government, he was permitted to insert his own remarks as well, allowing Canada and the British monarch to present a united front against American expansionism.

The Loon doesn't know the meaning of the word TRUTH and doesn't care to know either. TRUTH always gets in his way which is why he attempts to avoid it — all the time.

If you have ever paused to wonder whether our politics are broken or just stuck in a bad reality show, you’re not alone.

Trump is pardoning federal criminals and is making a mockery out of our judicial system. He is not the President of Law and Order. He is letting out felons who were part of an insurrection, law enforcement involved in bribes and illegal weapon possession, and anyone willing to pledge loyalty to his corrupt cause.

He goes against everything law and order, defies the law, and puts criminals on pedestals.

His administration is full of some of the most corrupt people this country has ever seen. They gaslight, lie, and are full of greed.

He is taking away food from the hungry and medication away from the sick, all while making himself and his friends richer.

He does not care about the American people. He never did. He came back into the White House for his second term full of anger, wanting to get even with everyone who disagrees with him.

He is upset that he was caught and convicted, and turned us into the laughing stock of the world.

Now, he will do anything he can to make himself look strong, powerful and undefeatable.

He is acting like the man behind the curtain from the Wizard Of Oz. He appears powerful ruling over the City, but when he is finally revealed after the curtain is moved, he is just an ordinary man using machines and tricks to create an illusion of greatness. He is the symbol of false authority and the power of perception.

At the end of the day, the man is a fraud hiding behind theatrics, a powerless showman propped up by smoke, mirrors and fear.

People often project strength to mask weakness and the moment their curtain is pulled back, their illusion crumbles. Trump comes off as scaring people, but he is really a weak cowardly man.

The Republican party needs to pull the curtain back, look him in the face and hold him accountable.

The GOP isn't what it used to be because it traded principles for power. They are blind to what they've become — a cult of corruption, fear, and submission to one man.

Once the party of small government, fiscal conservatism, and national security, it’s now driven by personality cults, grievance politics, and authoritarian impulses. The rise of Trump reshaped the GOP into a vehicle for outrage, disinformation, and loyalty tests, not ideas. It used to stand for values.

Now it stands for whatever keeps them in power and keeps the base angry.

    We can all do better.

I had this in here a long time ago. Sadly, Aunt Crabby passed away a yr. or two ago so all the 'good' she had for us doesn't happen now. But RIP Aunt Crabby. You are missed.

No life can be barren which hears the whisper of the wind in the branches, or the voice of the sea as it breaks upon the shore; and no soul can lack happiness looking up to the midnight stars.

Ruth, it is a nightmare. Even more so that we are having to relive the nightmare for the second time. Also, after the stunning fantastic recovery we had with Pres. Biden. While I admit, he didn't always walk well, and fought sometimes finding a word to use to lessen his tendency to stutter, he knew the exact combination to put us on the track to success.

Yes it is strange. He's mad at the world and yet this man gets no notice at all anymore. Also noted it would seem there certainly is very little damage to an earlobe struck a blow from a 'real' bullet (or was that actually teleprompter glass as was said some time after). The Loon is vindictive and never seems to forget a 'wrong' — except this one.
