When you honor your most authentic self--your Spirit--you are allowing your Light to shine and touch the world.  Living authentically, in its simplest terms, is living your Truth, the truth in your heart and soul. It's allowing yourself to be guided by Divine Truth and Wisdom, each and every day, and doing your Highest, most authentic work in the world. It's joyfully creating and living your Highest purpose!

Good morning. I think it may have been a dry night and that would be really nice. The sun if finally peeking out. Seems a little late but thank goodness its there. I'm party recovered from yesterday. Sure enjoyed having our little friend Kiko over.

Sad that we were a bit worn from our early morning (going to Marion ) activities, but we had both had a nap when we got home so not that bad. Actually Dh had several naps. He is like that some days. I now tend to have a power nap during the day sometime and then I'm good.

Nothing special today although its the start of paying bills for the month. I have bills due all month long so its just a blip to be addressed.

Hope you all stay well, have decent weather, and enjoy a pretty day.

Sandy, all I can say is "WOW!" Hoping that all the problems can be resolved.

A lot of people have to experience the results of their political beliefs coming true before they realize that things aren't so simple as they perceive them. Immigrants for the most part contribute a great deal. They work at jobs that otherwise wouldn't be filled. Enough said though I could say much more.

Today the sunshine is returning after a couple of cold overcast windy days. I plan to play some solo golf. DH is off to town to go to the gym and then the barber.

    Happy Tuesday.

Sandy, Good to hear from you, but sorry you are having so much trouble getting back into your house.

Chris, I love your refreshing comments. They make me smile.

Betrayal, you are so active, I hate you are having to deal with so much pain slowing you down.

Cindy, the Florida rains have started. I got caught in door pour just when I was leaving Walmart this morning.

I am heading down to my grand nephew's house for his 33rd birthday, It is about a 1.5 to 2 hour drive. Hope O don't have to drive in rain.

Last 2 nights have been decent sleepwise with bathroom needs but pain has been manageable. Regan let us sleep until 6:50 this morning which was a nice reprieve.

Misty did not get brushed early yesterday so when we came home after PT, she had made a ribbon of toilet paper on the powder room floor. This is hee way of expressing her displeasure when moi, the servant, doesn't meet her needs, LOL. When I tired to brush her she wasn't interested but today she did want the full brushing. Funny cat but if I don't brush her she gets large hairballs and there are flying hairs which resemble dandelion seeds when they float in the air. I need to sweep daily. Just trying to catch-up on housework today.

petite1, gradually I hope to regain my activity but it has been a challenge this time. Thanks.

DH just went to pick up DGS who wants to spend time with us now that he is done school. The rain frome this morning has dissipated and the hazy sun is making the day warmer. It's humid though and we finally are out of the drought situation.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Oh Sandy - when it rains, it pours and you have a hurricane full of problems. I wish there was some way I could help. During our renovation earlier this year, the tear down crew was Latino however, the put everything back together crew was Polish and Ukrainian. Supposedly only the crew chief spoke English but we realized some of them could speak more English than they let on. They did a great job and the punch list was short. My husband’s last employer used a Polish crew for installation of their product. They were all fluent in English but preferred not to let the customers know that. That way if the customer was unhappy they could just say ‘call the office’ and did not have to deal with the customer’s ire. I think the labor shortages due to the ICE actions are going to hit our economy hard. It seems that they are picking up people at work which are doing exactly what they should be doing. Working, paying taxes and trying to live a decent life.

Betrayal - congratulations on the full rotation of the bike pedal. I can guarantee you that I would not be riding my bike if I had a TKR. My BIL that had the TKR last month ended up back in the hospital this week to have his gallbladder removed. I presume that it must have been bad since his wife called an ambulance for transport and he spent two nights in the hospital. When I had mine a few years ago, I walked into the ER and was sent home to await scheduling the surgeon. My surgery was outpatient and I was only in the hospital for 5 hours.

petite - enjoy your grand nephew’s birthday party.

I had a phone call with the NP today. I think we are back on track. She will prescribe ezetimibe and order a Dexascan. If ezetimibe doesn’t work, we will address it at that time. I did politely complain about the inaccuracies in the MWV form. She said she would address it with her management. She seemed upset that the RN did not ask about the advanced directive but instead stated I was not interested. She can see it in the portal where I uploaded my directive so I think we are all good.

    Take care everyone!

Yeah, on getting the NP to be a partner rather than an adversary. Hopefully the ezetimibe will do the trick and fingers crossed for good results on the Dexascan. The medical chart must reflect accuracies since it is a legal document so if you don't ask for corrections, it becomes a situation where it is your word against theirs and I would rather it be mine.

petite1, forgot to tell you to enjoy the birthday party.

There is something quite powerful and life-giving in the act of giving thanks.  It is a lot like recharging a battery.  As you open your mind and let your heart sing for joy, you can receive a recharging of spiritual energy in your mind, body, spirit, and activities of your daily life.  There is no greater tonic and perhaps no more potent tonic for our spirit than gratitude.  When we are grateful for the blessings we already have, our very attitude of gratitude attracts extra good to us.  Thanksgiving is like a powerful magnet that can draw us to friends, love, peace, joy, health, and material good.

Good morning. Sun today. That's going to be nice. While the ground looks damp it is from the earlier rain. The deck looks quite dry so I think no overnight rains. Yipee.

Harley sounds like things are going to work out. Another yipee on the horizon. I'm running a bit late today so maybe can get back later.

Hoping all have a marvelous day.

Ok back again, even if no one else comes. Got things straightened up (thank goodness didn't have to go to the bank and admit defeat) in my check-book and I can now start the bill paying tomorrow. Hated to add to any book-keeping until I was sure that all corrections had been made to keep me the right tally on the last line. Had to take Dh to the bank because he could not figure his out.

Had another talk to him. Scammers (not sure how they get the number but they claim they are from out bank) and he tries to follow their instructions. Luckily whatever it was he did — they did not remove and disperse any funds from his account. We have two banks in town — and in all the years I've banked there ( Dh's account is rather new) I've never been called by the bank for anything. Which is what I told him. Pay no attention to a call, because I'm sure it will be a scam. Just pick yourself up and go to the bank (take your pick of either two of them) and find out what's what.

I feel a lot of concern. I am 6 yrs. younger than Dh and I'm hoping that in 6 yrs. I can "remember" not to get all upset and nervous and afraid about a telephone call. Then again, hopefully things will hopefully not nearly be what they are like for people right now. I think scamming (which never went away) is a bit more rampant now as I don't think we have a lot of controls in place that were there before we changed WH residents. Won't say anything else on that.

Anyway, too late today to do much, but did some grocery shopping (minimal) as we needed some vitamins and melatonin re-supplied. I became a user when I had my open-hear surgery. I didn't sleep too soundly at first and the nurse (a very complement young man) talked me into it. Been doing it since.

Hope you all had a really good day.

Late start today for me as well. PT went well and I was able to fully push bike pedal completely around for over 2 minutes but it does make knee hurt later. So I will ice it tonight after dinner. Pain med at bedtime if needed.

Dragging today because I did not sleep well last night so was feeling draggy this morning. DSIL had given me a recipe for a soup called Santa Fe soup which can be made in the crockpot. So I had DH pick up ingredients, thawed ground beef and made it for dinner. It was delicious. DGS is on second bowl and we should get anotehr meal from it. .

DGS joined us yesterday for a few days. He was finished school this week and wanted to spend time with us. He needs the positivity he gets here and we enjoy his company. DH found out paving company is coming tomorrow so he had DGS move mulch (16 bags) off the driveway which he did without being asked. The he helped DH remove stone edges to several flower beds which abut driveway so they don't get tar on them. He still needs to insert a barrier so the front walkway doesn't get tar on it like it did the last time.

I asked DGS if he would help me plant the ferns I had purchased. I wanted to plant them on the shady side of the hill opposite the newly landscaped side. They were large enough that I was able to split each of the 4 in half and still have a large fern to plant. He did all of the digging and DH and I did the plant splitting with him doing the lion's share. So I was mostly the sidewalk superintendent for the project. I did pull some weeds though there are plenty more to pull.

It was hazy today with temps to hit 90 but we only made it to 80, so it wasn't too hot outside. Now I just need to get the plants I bought into the bed by the big rock.

When I ordered the stakes for the fencing I asked DH to measure the height of the ones the landscapers had installed. He forgot to add on the 12 inches that gets inserted in the dirt so the ones we got are too short for the fencing we bought. He found 6 in the shed so he will use them on the bed he's been working on (already put the short 6 in) because the fencing protrudes above them for about 12 inches. More work when you don't pay attention to the details. He'll return the short ones and I'll order the 5 foot ones for the fencing.

DGS wants to go fishing tomorrow so DH will accompany him to the stream in a park on our road. It has sunnies and is stocked with trout. It's catch an release for us but not sure if he will want to keep them.

Was planning on laundry today, but it will wait until tomorrow since with coating the driveway, I'll be housebound. Did a load for DGS last night.

Illinoislady, scammers have been around forever, but their focus now seems to be on the elderly and getting access to bank accounts or credit cards. It's not only phone calls because I must get at least 20 fake emails regarding purchases I have not made and /or fake SS info they need. So please check what he is responding to as far as online bills that show up in his email and make sure he's not paying them.

Hope everyone had a wonderful day.

Sandy, you’ve been more than patient with this move, seeming to just roll with it. Get your lawyer attitude on and straighten them out! They should be covering your additional rent.

Petite, have fun at the party! Fingers crossed no rain

Yesterday here was more rain. I ran around spending the birthday money different stores sent to my account early - Macy’s, Kohl’s and JC Penny. I wanted some new washcloths, good thick ones. Have you shopped for them lately? Each wash cloth was $12-$18, I was flabbergasted. I ended up in the clearance area of JC, and was able to get some at $5 each, with $10 off; so $2.50 in the end. Kohl’s had them at $5.99; I had $5 off, so again about $2.50 each. Bed sheets at Macy's were another shocker. Macy’s discount area had plenty of polyester sheets, very inexpensive, but I wanted cotton. With discounts and a balance on a gift card, $43 for a set of cotton hotel collection, final sale. The original price was $360!! Not in my lifetime. I better take better care of my washcloths and sheets so I don’t need new ones anytime soon.

Our AC split units installation was postponed due to rain yesterday, until today. We both got little sleep to be up at 7:30 this morning, both night owls. My house was pulled apart to allow him access to install them, and add the electrical circuit breakers in the basement. The big hole drilled through to the outside made such a mess - wallpaper, paneling, plaster, wood, asbestos shingles, and vinyl siding. He joked about 17 layers. Long story short, we love them, should have done it years ago. Very quiet, inside & out, and heat pump for when the weather changes.

After the evening news we’re both getting busy putting everything back where it belongs. My only complaint is I ache all over - knees, back, hips and hands. Arthritis plus moving large pieces of furniture; but I can’t take anything because foot surgery is Monday. I could use a gf hot tub but I think as long as I keep moving I’ll be alright.

Tomorrow early I’m meeting gf to walk. But we’re also opening the pool - which we wanted to do today. Then in the evening I’m meeting a gf & her daughter for dinner before we see a play. Busy day.

My parting shot is YES, we don’t realize how much our lives will be affected with the deportation of working immigrants. I’m second generation Irish, I stand with the immigrants. One of the hero’s of WW1 was Henry Johnson, a Black man from my home town of Albany, NY - his name was just removed from Fort Johnson in Louisiana. I won’t say more.

Hope you get some rest Cindy. You had quite a day. It will all have been worth it, but wow — hard for you to put everything off a day since it puts other days off too. Not what you needed with an operation coming up. I've been a party to many things piling up all at once and it isn't fun.

Here's hoping everything goes way better after the surgery and recovery. Nice that you will have the "quietness" for recovery time. Having HVAC is a wonderful thing. Growing up almost no one had anything but a fan. Of course, kids tolerated that fairly well and indeed the adults managed okay I think too. Now, almost no one has window units. I'm happy for you though I would imagine we'd all like to be able to pitch in for each other when big projects come along.

Betrayal, I'm hoping a good night's sleep for you. It's always worrisome to me when people can't sleep well while trying to recover from something. Here's hoping you turn that corner soon where you will continue to improve on an almost consistent level till you 'get there'. Sending hugs to all.

Good Morning. It's a bit overcast so fa. This may be due to the fact that we are (per weather report) going to have rain I believe to start tomorrow — but who knows. It may be early. It seems on the 14th. there may be thunderstorms, if not all day rains in Washington. Oh dear, as I silently chuckle.

I have noted another interesting thing — although it doesn't bother me at all and in fact, I like it. It seems in Windows 11, if you wanted to change a font, you had to go through quite a procedure. I almost never like the fonts of anything and immediately opt to change —-except upon getting a Windows 11.

Lately though, after one of the automatic updates — my font here on BCO as well as other places is a whole lot smaller and to me much neater than the original one. Words are separated well etc. I've liked it so much I haven't attempted to 'change' anything. So just wondered if anyone else has had this happen. I did try at first to change my font, but gave up almost right away — so this isn't something I tried to do. It just seemed to have happened. Guess I'm hoping that another update doesn't change this.

Hope all will have a happy Thursday. Church night here so even though I'll thaw something out even if I don't use it. Hugs to all.

I had a panic attack. The other night I decided to reboot my laptop. It wouldn't turn on (remember the keyboard). I went downtown and went next door while waiting for him to open. Shopkeeper told me to go to someone else. I told her I would never switch. He might have [a certain disorder common among computer geeks] but he knows his stuff. (And besides that, I have been his customer probably longer than anyone else in town.) I left and returned in the early afternoon. He showed me what I had done wrong. I said "Thanks, doc." No charge.

Got plugs inserted into my tear ducts this morning. Tired of having a wet nose along with itchy, sandy eyes. He said that I also have plugged oil ducts at the base of my eyelashes, and recommended a microwaveable mask. Part of the discomfort might be due to pollen and the fires. Maybe Trump might try to sue Canada for our poor air quality and use the money to build more coal-fired electricity plants?

Kitty, your set was beautiful, as always. The nun without her complete costume was hilarious.

Yes, I think the tipping point has come. The next few months are going to be _______________________interesting. And we get to watch it in relative comfort and minimal fear for ourselves. Prayers will help.

Sandy, do you have any resources for complaining about that contractor? Or are you going to let it ride because of lack of availability of competent workers? Despite everything, you are doing well healthwise.

Yes, Cindy, being unable to use my thumbs is quite frustrating. They seem to be getting better. No longer using the braces, but still using the lidocaine. When I am writing a message on my phone, I use my middle finger, using my index finger to dampen the tremors. Will never again use my thumbs.

Betrayal, getting the bike pedal to go around is a massive step forward. My knee, as rough as it seemed, was not bad compared to others' stories.

Wow, Chris. Your computer did exactly what mime did — wouldn't turn on. Mine turned out to be an upgrade that somehow got stuck and never completed — so the day that went on without knowing, I shut off my computer as I do all the time and BAM.

Glad your guy changed his mind. I feel the same about about H & H Computers. I've always gotten great service and he too won't charge if he really doesn't have to do anything. I did pay for a service call to find out my computer locked up on an upgrade. I think that event doesn't likely happen often. To my knowledge that was my first time.

My Dh has the tear duct issue too. He has some kind of wipes that he gets to clean his eyes. It seemed (if I recall) to take him a while to get how to accomplish cleaning properly for a time. Or at least I recall his saying for some time that nothing he tried seemed to work. He doesn't really complain now so I think he got there.

Good to hear the thumbs are better. That is one of those kinds of things hard to imagine — unless of course, it happens to you. I have it seems rather lg. thumbs so if they ever 'go bad' I'm really going to know it I guess.

Chris, glad your computer glitch was fixable and not overly costly. Nice to have geeks who take pride in their abilities and it is reflected in their work ethic. Not charging for a minor fix is nice.

Sorry to hear about the tear duct issue and hope you get some relief from it with the plugs. One of my nephews had to have surgery, as an infant, on his twice before they got it to drain. Tough when it drains all the time.

Using thumbs for texting means the next generation will have painful arthritis before they are 40. Thumbs were not meant for that type of abuse. Hard to convince the younger generation not to use them. My thumb issues were related to work related use and how I wish I knew then what I know now. Shaking down glass thermometers has also cause wrist issues.

It was hot, hot, hot today so I opted to do laundry but also to wash down furniture on front porch. Well, once the furniture (rotating chair, glider and table) was done it lead to including milk can, both flower urns, the aluminum capping around the dining room windows, and of course the front door. While I was doing the glass side panels to the door, I could see Misty bobbing her head up and down as I washed. Then she decided to attack my movements through the glass. I was surprised she stuck around. After I was done scrubbing, I rinsed everything off and had DH scrub the upper parts of the windows I could not reach. So the porch is ready for the chair cushions and the hanging baskets of silk flowers. It is too shady for live plants.

I finished by watering the window boxes. I may go out tonight and attempt to remove the dead wood in at least one of the hydrangea bushes. I have 3 to do. I wanted to do that after the porch but I was too hot and tired. Needed a break.

DH had paving company coat driveway today so I will have to walk up and down tomorrow to go to PT. We'll leave earlier because it is slow going for me. After the paving company left DGS asked if he could go fishing, so they both went to the stream at the end of our road. I called them about dinner and DGS asked if he could call back because he had to remove a fish from his hook. Not sure what he caught but will hear about it over dinner. I enjoy having him here even if he makes lunch and dinner plans a challenge. Today he wanted the Bulgogi I had in the freezer so I had to fry them up for him. He ate 7 and I had one.

Of course, the laundry room smoke alarm beeped loudly twice and I wasn't sure what was going on. I think it got too humid in the laundry room as I was drying some towels. I shut them off and waited for about an hour and they are drying now.

Waving "hi" to everyone I have not mentioned and hope all had a wonderful day.

betrayal - wow! You are certainly getting back into the swing of things. Just be careful not to overdo it. Must be nice to have DGS around. How wonderful that he asks to spend time with you.

Chris - glad the computer is fixed. I will admit my heart skips a beat when one of our devices acts up. I’m so reliant on our computer and iPads for communications and finance that I panic when one has a glitch.

Cindy - your energy is amazing. Can you bottle it and send some to me, please?

Today was the 2 year anniversary of my retirement so we went out to lunch and then for a 4 mile hike in a state park. It was in the high 70’s and a bit humid today but fortunately about half the trail is shaded which helped. We were very sweaty by the end. We did spot an osprey nest high up on a pole with mama osprey keeping watch.

Apparently, my saga with the NP is not over. Two days since our phone call there is no order for the Dexascan in the system and no corrections have been made to the MWV summary. None of the vitals, other than BP, been posted to my portal. I wonder if the MA lost the info? Is that even a possibility?

It has been two weeks since the appointment and I am quickly running out of patience. I sent a reminder message to the NP about the pending items, left a message with the front desk for the practice manager and sent an email to the hospital they work in asking how to get my records corrected.

On the Tuesday phone call, the NP advised that if ezetimibe didn’t work I would be referred to a lipidologist as they won’t try to tweak the meds. I didn’t know lipidologist was a thing. She also wanted to refer me to a breast surgeon to get an order for a mammogram. I don’t do mammograms at this time but it seems the NP could easily order one. DH’s PCP manages the cholesterol lowering meds and they have had to tweak the meds a few times. It seems that this practice mostly refers patients out to specialists and doesn’t handle much in office. I’ve only been with them two years (previous PCP moved out of state after one year) but I had a complaint when I first started that the PCP wanted a coronary calcium scan and would not discuss any issues with me until that was completed. However, she didn’t order the scan. I later figured out I didn’t need a doctor’s order so I scheduled it but had to pay out of pocket. I complained to the practice manager at that time and she told me to get care elsewhere, although she later backtracked on that directive. I figure even if they do not discharge me from the practice at this time I may need to find another PCP. I wonder if I even need a PCP?

    Hope all are well!

    betrayal Posts: 5,562

harley07, I would say if you can find a new PCP, the answer should be yes. Their care is not free, so would you tolerate treatment like this from any other vendor you deal with? I know the healthcare system seems to be a hot mess, but I don't believe we have to accept subpar care as the standard, even if the system seems to be overwhelmed. If my new PCP doesn't work, I will request a transfer to the one who is leaving and bite the bullet about traveling over 40 minutes to her new practice. Fingers crossed I like and can relate to the new one.

My RO orders my mammograms because I fired my BS and refused to get another. I did get referred to a BS's NP for my biopsy last fall but will not have any further contact with that office. I love my RO and she is the one I trust the most.

I did plan more than I could physically perform today, so settled on 3 loads of laundry and scrubbing the porch items as a good goal. The hydrangeas will be there for me to get to them on another day. Possibly tomorrow, but maybe not. I have PT and that does take a toll on my energy levels. Plus I will have to walk up and down our hill tomorrow because the driveway was just paved and we have to stay off for 48 hours.

Harley, my energy is forced. I can easily spend a day in my night shirt hanging out doing nothing. In fact, I do look forward to days I have nothing going on.

We opened the pool today. I thought it would be an easy or fast start, but the winter cover had water on top of it again from the latest rain. Before we could do anything we had to syphon off the water - stinky, near black, full of mud, mosquito larvae and short pine needles. UGH! After all that, it did actually come off easily. Solar cover is on to keep anything falling from the trees out. Filter is hooked up but a pipe attachment is leaking so I was unable to start it. More work tomorrow.

I showered fast and dressed for dinner and the play. Dinner at Smith’s Public House in Cohoes, NY was delicious. The building where the restaurant is was built in 1873. First it was a silent movie house, pool hall, and a local tavern, purchased in 1937 by Mike Smith. The place has ambiance, with a super long bar that was packed; we were in one of the back rooms - big fire place and leather sofa & side chairs, tin ceiling, even the old call bells/buzzer at the table to call for service.

Then we went to the Cohoes Music Hall, built 1 year after Smith’s in 1874, for a play. It’s right down the street from the restaurant. The name of the play was “The Waiting” a new musical. We loved it!

    IMG_9756.jpeg IMG_9755.jpeg

I’m tired, body still achy - especially after sitting at the restaurant & play. Loving the AC splits, especially after laboring outdoors it’s so great to walk into coolness. Tomorrow morning is a hair cut at 10:15. Afternoon is to fix the pool filter and get it running.

Hoping we all have a great nights sleep for a fresh Friday!

Soul is what gives us the life energy that carries us through the mundane of the daily life to the most meaningful dimensions of life.  The problem is not that we didn't get enough soul to make life meaningful; the problem is that the soul is what we are required to nurture in ourselves. Good morning, just stopping in to catch up before I head to the bank and post office. I am taking a solo mini vacation to the North Carolina mountains. I have an old friend that lives up there. I haven't seen him for years. I am looking forward to the trip. I am also looking at a few cabins that are for sale. I still dream about being a "snowbird" and I am not getting any younger. If I am going to do it, it might as well be now.

Lots of rain = lots of blooms. These wild ones only bloom once and done.

Pool - a connection is still leaking. My cousin can’t stop by until tomorrow night. Partner & I will try our best to get it fixed today. He has more hand strength than me, so fingers crossed.

I did get my hair cut this morning. She sort of put curls all over - so I just put it up in a clip. It should be normal after a shampoo, I hope. Haha! It does look healthier so that’s a plus.

Good morning although it's 12 minutes after noon already. I was up so early I chose to wait to post. I had Dh try a Covid test yesterday since his cold is holding on. The test was too old I think and didn't register so he wanted to go to Urgent Care. Whew !! Five hrs. later (although that included a trip to our local Walmart to pick up some meds) and I was exhausted. Waited out in the car with Lil' Red and it was sort of hot and humid. Not totally horrid, but not real comfy either.

Seems Dh did not have any pneumonia but did have some infection hanging in his lungs. So meds for that as well as rescue inhaler for cold duration. I think he could have done w/o the inhaler, but I am not the PA. I was done in by the time we arrived home late afternoon. We opted for a pizza (a rarity around here) and I got all my work done early (no dishes to clean up) and did some work here and then off to bed. No wonder I was up so early.

Cindy, your bird bath is so pretty. We don't use ours. We still have our one indoor/outdoor cat and sadly he is rather prolific at catching things. Mostly it is either mice, baby snakes or squirrels. The minute we saw how good Buddy was at this — we opted to not bring the Bird bath out. So, thankfully we usually don't see deceased bird gifts on our deck. Your flowers are always pretty and I enjoy yours as well as Canary's and Betrayal's editions.

Hope you get your pool going. I was doing pretty good till yesterday when heat and humidity caught up at the same time and now I'm all for anything that aids holding it all at bay somewhat. Of course we do have our a/c on but it isn't running all that much yet. Especially on days like today — drizzle with no sun. We had one major pour-down. Don't know if anymore are in the offing.

Petite your trip to the N. Carolina mountains sounds enjoyable. Are these cabins you speak of anywhere near there. That too sounds like a fine idea. It is rugged I think when you have harsh weathers to deal with. Carol and her Dh. sure seem to like to vacate LA during the humid heat of summer and their time in MN always sounds peaceful and nice. Made easier of course by leaving their second home/travel trailer in place and waiting for them each year. Here's hoping you might find something you could enjoy just as much.

Betrayal, you sound pretty energetic to me. I'm glad you have some extra help with your grandson even though having him may mean a bit more cooking. It's always something isn't it??? I do like your advice (if someone is able) to try and find a Dr. that one can work well with. Of course, I've only had one I didn't care a lot for. She wanted me to take a diabetic drug on the strength of one somewhat negative test and I differed on it. Since my A1C was showing ok — I was able to skip the med and was okay but after that I was always a bit jaundiced going in. Later, they were able to find an MD which suited me and I did fine with her. I didn't dislike the PA before the Dr. came, but I just lost a lot of my trust. I doubt anyone is against needed medications, but sometimes mistakes are made or as in my case — only one number didn't jive well while the other was fine. No need to take things w/o trying to cover the bases. I like to test the water before I get in.

Chris, I think my computer guy likely started out the same way. He often takes us back to his workstation while he is doing things for us and he just zips around and is sort of amazing to watch. He has had his business in the same spot for years and (it's probably an age thing with me) I'm always nervous that he'll decide to retire or something. Glad you have that guy. My kids (one of many parents sources) are not terribly good on computer so we need someone to keep us going. I don't usually have much gone on with my computer, but then I do not try to live my whole life on it. I don't generally buy anything here and only do a tiny bit of Facebook, and Email and this blog. I look up info, but I usually don't do anything third party.

Hope you all have a fantastic day.
