Cardplayer — so right about the ethnic cleansing. Also, for you and Ruth as well. Not sure why but I'm going to have to check here more often. I am missing some entries, but fortunately found them. Not sure why, but this is happening to me on two sites — so it is not just here.
I have kept a eye a bit on what is taking place with THE BILL. Of course, I'm also hearing opposite things — that it will pass easy enough and that it will take weeks. While I believe it may not be ready on the 4th. which is pretty close, I'm not so sure about the other.
All in all though, I think it's a loser for the Reps. side.

No matter what happens - Democrats should be DEMANDING universal healthcare now and forever. These punks do this under a parliamentary parlor trick and when Democrats take over the Senate, House and Presidency - they can pass universal healthcare with 50+1 votes. Let them try to pass this

BREAKING: MAGA Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt makes a horrifying remark that New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani should be "investigated" after a Republican Congressman calls for him to be denaturalized and deported.
Zohran has the fascists sweating bullets already. If they cross this line, there's no going back...
"Thank you Karoline. Does President Trump want Zohran Mamdani deported?" asked Fox News hack Peter Doocy.
"Heh. I haven't heard him say that. I haven't heard him call for that. Umm, but certainly he does not want this individual to be elected," said Leavitt. "I was just speaking to him about it and his radical policies that will completely, uh, crush New York City which is obviously a city that the president holds near and dear to his heart."
"There's this Congressman Andy Ogles who wants the Attorney General Bondi to explore denaturalization proceedings because he thinks Mamdani, uh, could have misrepresented or concealed material support for terrorism based on rap lyrics he wrote in 2017," said Doocy. "Does President Trump think this is a worthwhile use of the attorney general's time?"
"Well, I'll let the president speak to that. I have not seen those claims but surely if they are true it's something that should be investigated," Leavitt responded.
A White House Press Secretary with even an ounce of decency or respect for the rule of law would have shut down the suggestion immediately. Instead, Leavitt left the administration open to the idea in case Trump wants to weigh in.
Let's be absolutely clear about what happened here. Doocy asked about Ogles' nakedly fascist proposal to strip Mamdani of citizenship and deport him because Fox News wants to make sure that the scheme is on Trump's radar. The far-right network has been in meltdown mode since Mamdani clinched the nomination because he represents a profound threat to the corrupt, entrenched oligarchs and corporations that Fox exists to serve.
The idea that Zohran could be deported based on rap lyrics should send a shiver down the spine of every American. Such an act would constitute a complete dismantling of the First Amendment and would open up countless other Americans to politically motivated deportations based solely on their beliefs. It shouldn't even need to be stated, but Mr. Mamdani has not offered "material support for terrorism." Ogles is just tapping into a deep vein of Islamophobia that runs deep the Republican Party.
Trump himself has already attacked the young, superstar Democrat, calling Mamdani a "100% Communist Lunatic" while insulting his physical appearance.
And what has these Republicans so worried about Zohran? The fact that he wants to improve the lives of average New Yorkers. His so-called "communist" policies include free busing, attaining a $30 minimum wage by 2030, a rent freeze, childcare, and free baskets for newborns. In any other civilized nation, these policies would be the bare minimum. In America, they terrify right-wing elites because they mean less money going towards their kleptocratic tax cuts.

BREAKING: Donald Trump has a humiliating meltdown like an old man who can’t figure out how to work technology and attacks AT&T after his “major Conference Call with Faith Leaders” implodes.
How is this the man entrusted with our nuclear codes?
“I’m doing a major Conference Call with Faith Leaders from all over the Country, and AT&T is totally unable to make their equipment work properly,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “This is the second time it’s happened. If the Boss of AT&T, whoever that may be, could get involved — It would be good. There are tens of thousands of people on the line!”
Not satisfied with just one undignified outburst over the unspecified technical difficulties, Trump followed up with another.
“I apologize for the long wait on the Faith Leaders Conference Call. AT&T ought to get its act together,” he wrote. “Please pass along the word to the tens of thousands of people who are there. We may have to reschedule the call, but we’ll use another carrier the next time. AT&T obviously doesn’t know what they’re doing!”
Imagine for a moment if Barack Obama or Joe Biden had thrown a public tantrum over something as petty as a conference call. Republicans repeatedly asserted that Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris were too emotional for the White House because they’re women. Now we’re saddled with a president who falls to pieces over minor inconveniences.
It’s also worth noting that the Trump’s Organization struck a massive deal earlier this month to license his name to an American mobile service provider and $499 cell phone called “Trump Mobile.” This unabashedly corrupt president now has a direct incentive to attack and drive down the stock prices of companies like AT&T. As is so often the case with Trump, this smear campaign may just come down to greed.

BREAKING: Hollywood megastar Charlize Theron enrages MAGA world by launching a scorching attack on Donald Trump’s fascist policies for destroying families and costing innocent lives at a “frightening rate.”

“I think we might be the only people who did not get an invite to the Bezos wedding. But that’s OK because they suck and we’re cool,” Theron said at the Block Party for the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP).
CTAOP provides support for youth in Theron’s native country of South Africa. To date, the organization has helped over 4.5 million people and given roughly $15 million to South African organization.
The beloved movie star thanked the guests for “taking the time to be a part of this.”
“Especially when the world feels like it’s burning because it is,” she continued. “Here in Los Angeles, in the US and across the globe, we’re moving backwards fast.”
“Immigration policy has destroyed the lives of families, not criminals; women’s rights are becoming less and less every day. Queer and trans lives are increasingly being erased and gender-based violence is on the rise,” said Theron. “This isn’t just policy, it’s personal.”
The crowd erupted into applause at her remarks, prompting her to add: “Yeah, f*ck them!”
Not done there, the Academy Award winner slammed the deeply destructive cuts that alleged drug addict Elon Musk has rammed through with his DOGE initiatives by criticizing “foreign aid cuts [that] have brought HIV and AIDS programs in my home country of South Africa to an absolute standstill.”
“All of this is not just detrimental, it’s dangerous; people will lose their lives, many have already, unfortunately, and at a frightening rate,” she said. “It’s absolutely heartbreaking to see this kind of unnecessary suffering.”
Her message was not all doom and gloom though…
“But what we also see, what we cannot miss, is the resistance. There is hope,” said Theron. “There is power in all of us standing up, organizing, protesting, voting, and caring for each other, and refusing to accept that this is the new normal.”
“That spirit of resistance, justice and care for each other, that’s the spirit that drives the work at CTAOP,” she went on. “And although our focus is on the youth in Southern Africa, what we’re really talking about here tonight is that all lives should be valued. Everyone should have the right to be healthy and safe and should be able to be seen.”
Theron is absolutely right and her remarks about Jeff Bezos’ horrifyingly wasteful $50 million wedding are deeply connected to her criticisms of the Trump administration. The same oligarchy that celebrated the billionaire’s nuptials in Venice are the same super-rich class that installed the MAGA regime in the first place. We are not only fighting to defeat Trump, we’re fighting to defeat an entire vampiric system that funnels more and more wealth to the rich while the vast majority of people struggle to just get by.

BREAKING: Historically corrupt Attorney General Pam Bondi abuses her Justice Department power to sue Los Angeles for supposedly discriminating against ICE agents.
And it gets so much worse…
The MAGA-tainted DOJ is alleging that the city’s sanctuary city policies result in unfair treatment of federal immigration officers compared to other law enforcement agents. One struggles to imagine a whinier lawsuit. These fascists have no problem tearing apart families and destroying families but they fall to pieces if they’re treated with even an ounce of the disdain they so richly deserve.
"Sanctuary policies were the driving cause of the violence, chaos, and attacks on law enforcement that Americans recently witnessed in Los Angeles. Jurisdictions like Los Angeles that flout federal law by prioritizing illegal aliens over American citizens are undermining law enforcement at every level – it ends under President Trump," Bondi stated.
In truth, the “chaos” in Los Angeles was caused by Trump violently and illegally cracking down on protestors by sending in the National Guard and Marines. He wanted violence because it allowed him to project the “law and order” strongman persona that his gullible followers love.
The lawsuit, yet another shameless waste of taxpayer money from this administration, alleges that the "sanctuary city laws and policies are designed to deliberately impede federal immigration officers’ ability to carry out their responsibilities in those jurisdictions.”
“The Los Angeles Ordinance and other policies intentionally discriminate against the Federal Government by treating federal immigration authorities differently than other law enforcement agents through access restrictions both to property and to individual detainees, by prohibiting contractors and sub-contractors from providing information, and by disfavoring federal criminal laws that the City of Los Angeles has decided not to comply with,” it goes on.
“The Supremacy Clause prohibits the City of Los Angeles and its officials from singling out the Federal Government for adverse treatment—as the challenged law and policies do—thereby discriminating against the Federal Government. Accordingly, the law and policies challenged here are invalid and should be enjoined,” the suit adds.
As usual, we see that Republicans only really believe in states’ rights (or in this case cities’ rights) when the polities in question adhere to extreme right-wing policies. Los Angeles should be free to govern itself as it sees fit. If Angelenos correctly see migrants as law-abiding, contributing members of their communities then Trump has no right to enforce his racist worldview on them.

BREAKING: Billionaire oligarch Elon Musk stabs Donald Trump in the back in jaw-dropping fashion and announces that he will fund primary challenges to every Republican lawmaker who votes to pass the "big, beautiful bill."
This just went off like a bomb in MAGA land...
"Every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their head in shame! And they will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth," Musk wrote on Twitter.
Not only that, but Musk is now threatening to form a new political party if the bills passes.
"It is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS that we live in a one-party country – the PORKY PIG PARTY!!" he tweeted. "Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people."
While Musk is correct that this bill is awful in every sense, his claim that we have a "one-party country" is patently absurd, as evidenced by the fact that Democrats are aggressively opposing this bill.
"How can you call yourself the Freedom Caucus if you vote for a DEBT SLAVERY bill with the biggest debt ceiling increase in history?" Musk added, tagging Republican Congressmen Andy Harris and Senator Chip Roy.
"If this insane spending bill passes, the America Party will be formed the next day. Our country needs an alternative to the Democrat-Republican uniparty so that the people actually have a VOICE," he wrote in another post.
The idea that Musk "actually cares about the people" is laughable at face value, but his attacks on this bill are more than welcome. Even if his motivations are suspect, any and all opposition to this destructive bill is to be encouraged.
The former close ally of Trump — who accused the president of being in the Jeffrey Epstein files only to later delete the allegation — has been an outspoken critic of the bill for months because it skyrockets the national debt. If passed, the ugly, bloated legislation would wipe out any so-called "savings" stemming from Musk's DOGE cuts.
While increasing the national debt to pave the way for more tax cuts for the rich and corporations is certainly a betrayal of the American people, it's the other elements of the bill that are the biggest cause for concern for the rest of us. Trump's bill devastates Medicaid with brutal cuts, balloons the Pentagon's budget (which in turn incentivizes more wars), targets migrants with brutal new policies, and slashes access to food stamps. Passing this bill will prove to be a historic mistake for the United States of America.
Republicans got into bed with Musk thinking that his money would assure their political success. Now he's turning on them, and that very same money could spell their political doom. Good. As the saying goes: "If you lie down with dogs, you will get up with fleas."
