Hi everyone!
Finally on to my last part of treatment - radiation!
I am 31 and this part still gives me anxiety, I have been searching for anyone's experience about whether your skin gets ruined, changes colour and doesn't go back to normal? did your breast change shape, harden etc?
any information would be very much appreciated!!
All my love
Helena

I finished radiation 2 weeks ago, and had it 18 years ago for my first round with this disease. It definitely affected the skin in the area where I had an implant. The doctor called it grade 2 fibrosis. The skin is shiny and tight.
Although radiation this time was to the internal lymph nodes, the skin injured before (and not radiated this time is very red and the implant is like a rock. The radiation oncologist said it’s not from radiation, but no one has an answer. Waiting to hear from my oncologist now.
Other areas that were radiated look sunburned, but I expect that to go away as it did the first time

hpvxxx31 I finished radiation a week ago and so far all I have is some pink/darker skin. Pink is on my chest, dark is under my arm. It is a little sensitive. Someone suggested getting men’s cotton T-shirts that can be loose and wear them inside out. I think men’s because the ones I found don’t have a side seam. I slathered on Calendula cream 3x a day starting a few days before radiation (showering before my appointment) and have continued.
Also, I had radiation on the other side 10 years ago and there was no noticeable difference in skin or shape, etc.0
