I stumbled across this resource. It's an aggregate site that hosts a directory of progressive-friendly stores and services. They also highlight woman-, BIPoC-, LGBTQ-, and veteran-owned businesses. If you want to ensure that your consumer dollars don't land in a conservative superPac coffer, here's one way to vet and support small businesses. I submitted Half-Flat to their directory, but I'm still waiting on the listing to be posted.

I feel sorry for his kids & I am never pro-murder. But it seems he might have reaped what he sowed. Of course, the horrible thing is that it ramps up the hateful rhetoric and actions even more. What a horrible world right now.

Sadly, I don’t even recognize this country anymore. Every time I hear someone say, “this is not who we are” I think “unfortunately, it is now”. It makes me sick to my stomach and really sad. I have a 25 year old son and I don’t even want to think about what life is going to be like for him in the coming years unless there is a serious course correction.

More and more evidence is coming forward that Kirk's killer was a Groyper - a member of an ultra-right white-nationalist group led by Nick Fuentes. Despite sharing many social and political views, their major beef with Kirk was due to his support for Israel. He wasn't sufficiently antisemitic to carry their approval. The writings on the bullet casings were drawn from memes and catchphrases used by Groypers to lampoon liberals. So yet again, the far-right's attackers are coming from inside the house (just down in the basement, peeing in a Mountain Dew bottle, so they don't have to get up from their group chat).

His comment that because governor didn't request death of state senator to be honored with flags at half staff, he didn't bother ordering it. BS, he didn't order because she was not a repugnant and a woman.
