Benign papillomas after biopsy

Im postmenopausal. Biopsy for palpable lump was benign papilloma. I never had a papilloma before.

I have extreme dense breasts. I have to have lumpectomy to confirm benign.

I was considering having double mastectomy even if benign.

What are your thoughts please?

Bopsie - have you discussed options with your surgeon? Have you had genetic testing? Genetic testing would be a factor in your decision making. And last but not least, will your insurance cover a prophylactic DMX if you do not have a genetic mutation or cancer?

Best of luck with your decision.

    Hi Harley,

    Thanks for your reply.

I had genetic testing about 10 years ago and I had good news. I should be retested because I'm guessing there might be new discoveries.

Also, i think extremely dense breasts might qualify for elected mastectomies, but i will check
