Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?

Cindy - sending prayers for your niece. If it is pancreatitis that is nothing to fool around with. My brother developed it after gallstones and it took several months to clear up. Of course, he waited a very long time before he finally went to the ED. Hopefully your niece can be treated quickly.
Betrayal - welcome home! Where are you off to next?
Sandy - I hope Bob is doing okay. That sounds like a nasty fall.
Chris - I hope you get your SNAP benefits soon. Wishing you good luck with the thumbs.
Our pool is being removed this week. When the liner was removed we discovered the metal panels behind the liner are rusting and the PoolCrete floor is cracked. We are not surprised but it reinforces our decision to remove the pool. The cement patio on the bottom right of the picture below is cracked and crumbling. It is also being removed. They expect to finish by Thursday.
Waving hello to all.

I allowed myself 35 minutes to get to the ENT office today for my annual check-up. Of course, they were doing road work on the only direct route with traffic down to one lane (2 lane road). So I did manage to get through quickly only to get to their only parking garage and the entrance is blocked by a very large tow truck. Unsure if it was wedged in the opening or as it turns, just blocking access. It finally moves after 10 minutes and here there was a major car accident on the second floor of the garage. A van and a large SUV had major damage to the front of the former and the rear of the latter. The office is located across the street on the 3rd floor so I had to then get from it to the office.
Finally get to the office just in time and have to complete this form that they want annually. They are not associated with the MLHS and have no access to the portal. However, they work under the aegis of the MLHS. Go figure how much confusion this causes. The form is full of duplication ,which drives me crazy with at least 2 sections on each page where they ask you to print your name and then to provide your signature! The receptionist told me that since it had be 12 months and 2 weeks since my last visit, I had to complete the form yet again even with no changes in the areas addressed. I didn't complete some sections because I hate useless duplication. All told they had 2 pages of computer printouts of my PMH to review, 5 pages of the repetitious print here, sign here pages and then another form of 2 pages. TMI in my estimation. Everything is fine and I see him in a year.
Decided to sort through the large bin of held mail and 98% of it was junk mail. I did get a few items that I need to deal with including a gyn bill that Medicare refused to pay for, meaning IBC won't pay either. For her to write a prescription for a skin medication, she billed me $150! I have never been billed for this in the past and if they insist I pay, I will say sayonara. It was always included in my prior exams. She was paid for a pelvic exam and a breast exam; I refuse the breast exam because I prefer it being done by my MO. I'll ask my new PCP to write for it in the future.
harley07, our next trip is a land tour of Ireland. We are combining 2 different tours even though it means we will have some overlap in the sites. That's okay, because we were frequent Ireland tourists, so we know the sites well and can manage on our own. I honeymooned there and my children were taken there as youngsters, as teens and as adults. We will be there for about 5 weeks total. We used to rent a car and go all over much to the chagrin of the car rental agencies when we would return the cars with thousands of miles on the odometer. Next fall is another cruise to Hawaii and then the Pacific islands south of there, including Fiji. Norway and Arctic cruise in fall 2027 if we are still vertical, lol.
Scheduled mammo for early December today so check list is getting shorter. I will see Pulmonary next week and hope to schedule sleep test soon after.
I also need to talk to Pain Management again concerning ongoing issues with back pain. It was present for the entire cruise, so I rule out stress as a causative factor, and feel it is more related to my steadily disintegrating spine. PA felt MRI might be indicated so I will see what she has to say. By the end of the day, I find it difficult to straighten my back and hate that I am slumped over.
Chris, what does the doctor want to do to your other thumb? Glad to hear your cast is off and the new orthotics will be available next week.
harley07, wow the pool removal is a big deal. Where will they get the fill? Was the patio you were referring to as collapsing the one with the pergola. Love the size of your backyard, it is huge.
cindyny, hope your niece gets a dx and tx plan soon. You are such a support for your family and friends and still manage to be the energizer bunny between visits. I used to have energy like that, sigh. Hope your packing for FL is just about finished and you can relax on your way home.
Sandy, hope Bob is still okay and that he can get his new glasses soon. Hopefully, you will finish your unpacking before Thanksgiving so you can then enjoy and relax in your "new" home. Funny how quickly the cats settled in.
carole, I admire how regimented you are about your exercise routines.
After the doctor's appointment today, I ran to Produce Junction to restock the refrigerator and was planning on making meat loaf for dinner. I had DH pull meat from freezer but didn't get home until after 1 and had other things that needed to be addressed first. So meat loaf will be on the menu for tomorrow. I also stopped at Sherwin Williams to pick up some paint chip samples for the dining room. I had to sent the rug out for cleaning, so now is the ideal time to empty the china closet and have DB paint the ceiling and walls. I can do the woodwork. I also want to find someone to remove the drapes for dry cleaning who can
then also rehang them.Hope everyone had a great day, and waving "hi" to everyone.

So far no SEs from the Covid shot yesterday. Yay. Not even a sore arm. And my step count was over 7000 steps yesterday. I'm surprised the little watch didn't make a surprised sound. LOL. It has assigned me 8000 steps and I'm usually luck to do half of that.
I'm happy with the countrywide election results but I'm old enough to have seen a lot of swings in voters sentiment. The real test comes when the elected officials are faced with governing. Lots of challenges.
What a scene in your back yard, Harley. Do you feel a tinge of sadness?
I hope all appointments schedules go well today. And everyone has a good Wednesday.

If I keep my left hand in a splint ost of the time, do my exercises, and take a break from my bike with left-handcontrols, I am hoping it will settle down and I will avoid surgery. Otherwise, we will make a decision in early January.
I wrote a reply earlier, but got distracted and didn't post it.
My SNAP benefits will probably be deposited on the 14th.
Shortly after I left yesterday, I got hit with a ransomware attack. My old tech closed up shop, so I had to find another. A friend found a guy who does housecalls, so no overhead. He is friends with old tech, exchanged a lot of work with him. I am happy. He charged 25, but I gave him 30.
More, but those are the essentials.

Finished unpacking suitcase today and replacing jewelry taken on trip in proper storage areas. Organized gifts for family members that were purchased for Christmas in one bag and will place it in storage closet. Still have to take ironing upstairs to place it in the closets since I keep trip clothing in DD's old room. I think it is harder to unpack than packing, but find I don't like either much.
The bag I use for a carryon is one I purchased in Lahaina, Hawaii nearly 25 years ago and between trips it holds the zippered pouches I use for medications, my toiletries bag and hair care pouch, which means I can grab it when I need to pack again. I didn't restock it because we won't travel again until May 2026.
Today I was trying to handle mail items that required my attention for either donations to charity and a medical bill that was rejected by Medicare because of the wrong coding. I have talked to both Medicare and IBC to see what I need to do and now need to deal with the office.
I am not crazy about any of the SW paint chips I picked up yesterday. I want to get this room painted because it served as a satellite storage area during the restoration and there was some minor damage to the paint. Now that the rug is at the cleaners, it is time to get it done. I needed to get the unpacking done before I can tackle unloading the china closet and drawers. It holds my china, Lenox serving pieces, and crystal as well as a large Hummel Apple Tree Girl given to me by my DS. It will also give me a chance to evaluate what I need to keep and what can be donated.
I did make the meat loaf, scalloped potatoes, and oven roasted asparagus for dinner tonight. It was delicious. We have enough left over for another meal and maybe a meat loaf sandwich, too.
Chris, thanks for the update on your left hand. Fingers crossed surgery will not be necessary. How's Tippy?
I hope everyone had a great day and waving "hi" to everyone.

We left NY home about 12:30. We took our time and I only wanted to kill SO once, so it was an improvement. HA! He waited until we were ready to go out the door to ask me if he needed xyz to apply for his SS. I don’t know what he needs, but at the last minute you ask me this? UGH. Fortunately he found what he wanted fast.
Once on the road we realized we left garbage in the kitchen bin. My niece will grab it before hee next pick up, which is next Wednesday. We also left a hair trimming bag - good scissors, combs, and Wahl trimmer. I’ll grab new scissors at Sally’s once we get settled in FL.
My niece got into her gastro on Tuesday with a PA. She is getting scheduled for a MRCP, looking for stones or sludge in a duct. If they find a block she was told they do an endoscopy to clear it. She was happy it’s the same thing my gastro stepson said. I’ve let her know if anything happens I can fly back up.
I didn’t take notes but I did read everything.
The pool being removed, although necessary, feels like and end to an era - and it’s not my pool.
Chris, I hope you can avoid surgery too.
Betrayal, I think you’re an energizer bunny.
Carol, glad the covid shot didn’t bother you.
Sandy, I’m hoping Bob is feeling ok from his fall, and his glasses could get replaced. Sometimes you hurt worse after a day or two.I know there were more posts but I’m pulling a blank. Tomorrow we’re headed to Fredericksburg, VA. Now to shower and chill out. Hope you all had a good day!

Tippy? I had picked up some pet stairs at the side of the street a few months ago, knowing that Tippy is ageing, too. Only place I could put it was by my bedside table. This morning, he woke me up by walking over me. I obligingly rearranged the bedroom. Had been dreading the project, but no negative consequences, with platform bed and foam mattress. Now i have a two-drawer chest to get rid of.
I really was nervous about my bike spending the winter in the breezeway last winter. This winter it will be under a friend's deck. Sufficiently tarped, of course.

Safe travels, Cindy. Hard to believe time has passed and you're off to FL again. One year we had departed from home on our way to MN and realized we hadn't emptied the ice drawer in the refrigerator, which was otherwise empty and turned off. I contacted my sister and asked her to empty it.
Betrayal, you are so disciplined in your packing and unpacking.
Chris, what is your mode of transportation when you can't ride your bike?
We have some cold weather on the way. I'm looking forward to turning on our fireplace at night for a night or two.
3 -
Medical transportation is taken care of, cab, and friends. I am hoping to be able to walk to church (.8 mile) regularly. I have some snow-pants. And electric hand-warmers. If I keep my hands in my pockets, it might work. Otherwise, take the splints off and wear my leather mittens.
3 -
A woman who comes to senior exercise is legally blind, with macular degeneration. She relies on the senior transport service provided by the parish/county. I'm impressed with how promptly the van arrives when the class is over. She's an attractive, friendly woman. I admire her for getting out despite her disability.
I see the vans often at different locations.
I will walk in the neighborhood this morning and then attend chair yoga this afternoon. The wonderful weather we've been having makes it pleasant to get out and walk.

Still playing catch-up, but have gotten cruise clothes put away except for 2 "dressy" night tops that I want to hand wash before storing. One more trip upstairs will deal with ironed clothes, I have moved gifts to DD's closet, and took care of returning DD's ring for repairs. She lost one of the diamonds and it is covered by a lifetime warranty. Just waiting for shipping instructions now.
Saw dermatologist for annual skin cancer check and I am good for another year. Next week is pulmonology appointment.
This weekend is (U of) Penn's homecoming and we have tickets for the football game. We are seated on the shady side in the arena so I am hoping the weather warms up some. I plan on dressing like an onion, but the chill can still get you. I love going and visiting the various open houses with free food. We also like to hit the Penn Bookstore to see what they have to offer in new clothing. I already have zippered sweat jackets, a lighter weight jacket, tees, cup holder liners for my car, and hats, so I usually don't get anything, but might pickup something for the grandkids. Now that I can walk so much better, it will be easier to walk all over the campus, which I really enjoy.
It is so windy that it makes it feel like winter rather than 52 degrees. I wore a fleece jacket when I went to the doctor and the wind went right through it. Then I see an older woman with a walker with no jacket on and bare arms! I wondered where her coat was.
Want to finish up straightening up the cruise debris/leftovers and DD's room which sometimes becomes a dumping ground. DH's closet had a problem from condensation from the A/C in the attic so it had to be taken apart and his clothes are all over the place. The guy who started the repair work needs to wait for the HVAC people to finish their piece, so he can finish the closet repair. He also just had neck fusion surgery, so I do think he should hold off until he's healed a bit more. So we are in a holding pattern until we get feedback from the HVAC people. He purchased the Rubbermaid shelves and I need to see if there is adequate hanger clearance. We had looked at it several years ago, but the closet is narrow in depth and there wasn't enough clearance. I'll go check these out.
cindyny, I am busy, but cannot hold a candle to you when it comes to how much you can accomplish in one day. Safe travels, and as far as SO, when my DF would try to be the driver, or was criticizing my driving, I would remind him he could be put into the trunk. It worked, lol. You probably have the trunk packed to the gills so it may not work in your case, but you could threaten with a bus ticket.
Chris, thanks for blurb on Tippy. I missed hearing about him.
House smells of oil, so had DH check out heater and it is not the issue. Checked garage and yup, smell is from there. The gas can he insists on keeping there, spilled. So garage doors are open to dissipate smell. UGH!
Hope everyone ahs a great day and waving "hi" to everyone.

Been so focused on getting unpacked and back to a routine, I forgot this one. Here's a quote.
A woman would never make a nuclear bomb. They would never make a weapon that kills - no, no. They'd make a weapon that makes you feel bad for a while.

The contractor packed up around noon and left. The pool is gone. I do feel a little sad and even my son said it is the end of an era. The patio under the pergola was removed since it was crumbling. Our plan is to fill it in with pea gravel next summer and put the Adirondack chairs and fire pit there. The garden bed between the pergola and house needs some reimagining so that’s another item on our to do list for next year.

There are amazingly wonderful people in all walks of life; some familiar to us and others not. Stretch yourself and really get to know people. People are in many ways one of our greatest treasures.

We’re in Lumberton, NC. Drive was nice, good weather but crowded now and then. We drove off I-95 to 64, because SO has a Sam’s Club credit card and membership and wanted to get gas there. We filled the gas tank, but truthfully could have gotten better prices elsewhere. I’m glad it wasn’t far.
I’ve got my grandnieces cold. Her mom kept telling her it was allergies. It’s not, it’s a full fledged cold. I always put a fresh box of Kleenex in the car for travel and I’m grad I did! I brought it in the room with me.
Funny, not funny story - last night about midnight I went looking for a NyQuil gel cap. We take this giant heavy duty sail canvas tote from Cape Cod, filled with just about everything from our hall medicine cabinet.
When we got off the elevator to our room, it fell off the luggage cart. We both were on our hands and knees picking up stuff and tossing it back in.
WELL apparently a bottle of Robatussin cough medicine leaked - the cap must have undone it self and it had poured all over everything. By midnight it was like gel on some stuff. We had to clean off cough syrup from almost everything. We had to throw out boxes that held eyedrops, Tylenol, prescriptions - all were red/pink and sticky. WHAT a mess.
The canvas tote is now stained pink in spots; mostly the bottom.
This morning I took an extra garbage bag to put our stuff in - cleaned & dried, then placed it into the still wet canvas tote.
I never did find a NyQuil, but we did spend at least an hour cleaning up the mess.
Tonight after check in we ran to Walmart, where I bought their brand of gel caps and I can’t wait to take one tonight.Headed to Kingsland, GA tomorrow. Weather looks ok as we go. Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning. I just wrote a long post and it went into cyber space. I am in NC with my niece. The minisplit went in and we now have heat. Yay! The crawlspace basement guy was here and will send an estimate for insulation replacement. I have several weather warnings on the upcoming cold front. It will be down to 31 Sunday, 36 hi and 24 lo on Monday. 23 on Tuesday. We are going to do the complete winterizing before we leave. The leaves are dumping. We cleared the deck and it is already covered, again.
4 -
Cindy, we forget how miserable a cold can be until we get one. Hope you start feeling better today.
Petite, hope the winterizing the cabin goes well.
I had my annual appointment with my bc doctor's NP. She examined my underarms and chest with ultrasound. Everything good. I got my appointment card for next year.
Tomorrow our weather is supposed to drop down to freezing or near freezing. Then next week back to 70's and 80's.
Happy Saturday to all.

I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.
2 -
I don't think of all the misery but of the beauty that still remains.

Yesterday was our U of PA homecoming and it was a beautiful day. We had tickets for the football game and then decided to buy tickets for the luncheon. When we registered for the luncheon we were given logo neck scarves. It was a buffet held on the college green between the buildings where we had attended classes so many years ago. We visited several booths to pick up free pins such as the one that said "I met my wife at Penn" or "Toast Thrower" (a fund raiser that occurs after the 3rd quarter).
The day was sunny, the temperatures were in the low 60's but the breeze made it feel cooler. Our seats were on the shady side so while I did remove a fleece jacket, I still had a lightweight red sweater and a school logo sweatshirt jacket with a hood on. I stopped at the school of Nursing table where we were gifted logo bags and a knit hat for me. They were also giving away pens, alcohol gel hand cleaner, and sunglasses. So quite a haul this year.
The game was against Cornell and while we whooped their butts last year, this year they whooped ours. We left after the 3rd quarter and headed to the Penn Bookstore. I was looking for a fleece that was a pullover with a zipper at the neck. They only had sweatshirt ones, which is not what I wanted, and being made by Champion, they are pricey. We found a few discount books and bought those. I love homecoming and just realized we will miss the spring one because we will be in Ireland and the one in the fall 2026 will be held while we are on a cruise. Neither of us has a graduation anniversary year for either so it's okay.
Right now with all the leaves changing colors it is so pretty to look at nature. Some trees are already bare but many still have a full canopy. I like this, but not the reduced daylight or the chill in the air. So while I like the 4 seasons it is 3rd on my list and winter is definitely not a favorite, so it is 4th. To me, fall signifies the prelude to death that is winter. I don't like being cold and find it difficult to get warm during these seasons. Yes, I do layer like an onion, but feel like the Michelin man on some days.
Today is significantly cooler with temps in the low 50's, it is a bit overcast and a breeze visible only on the tops of the trees. We are supposed to get rain later today. I have plenty to do indoors, so I will keep busy. I want to make a cover for Bumblebee's cage so I will sort through the fabrics I have downstairs to see if I have something that is quilted. I just need to cover the top of his cage and 3 of the 4 sides. His cage is close to the bay window, but also the baseboard heat.
harley07, you now have so much space in your backyard after the pool removal. What an opportunity to design a new vista.
petite1, your plans for the cabin are moving along and the winterizing is a good idea. If you can use it for 3 seasons what a great plan. Do others use their cabins in the winter? Is there skiing close by?
cindyny, are you home yet? We used to have planned stops when we went to FL with our children. I would stop at the linen mills, Lumberton for furniture, the Waccamaw Pottery (doesn't exist anymore), etc. I would buy towels and ship them to my parents. My DD's bedroom furniture was purchased there and shipped home. Loved those days.
I hope everyone has a great day and waving "hi" to everyone.
1 -
I woke up to the 1st snow of the season in our backyard.
3 -
@teka You beat us this year. We have no precipitation forecast in our forseeable future and have had none yet. That is dry for Colorado Springs. Yes, the mountains around us have had some snow, but we are at 7000 ft and usually get a sprinkle by now. Oh well, I am sure it will come and I will complain about it then. It has been plenty cold already.
2 -
Teka, it is a tie!! We also had snow last night.
I haven't gotten much done today. However, it is Sunday.
I left a book-club several years ago because of relationship problems with another member. I had a talk with that person a week ago. I understand my part in the difficulty, and I am interested in returning. I don't know, but something is happening. A wait and see kind of thing.
I am getting a bit more lax with my rehab exercises, but I will still get my five sessions for today. A nap and Mass got things out of kilter for the 10, 12, 2, 4, and 6 schedule. I want to get at least half an hour resting between sessions. Oh, what problems!
3 -
We arrived at FL home just after 4 PM. I have such great neighbors - the hurricane shutters were opened, all furniture we drag in from front & back lanai’s were back out where they belong. So fortunate. Having that done makes it so much easier for us.
Having said that, my cold has be feeling discombobulated. You’ll laugh - I miss my bed & fuzzy robe in NY. After a good nights sleep in this bed I’ll be fine.
Chris, I hope you get back to the book club. It makes the winter go by faster meeting with others and reading a good book.
Petite, I’m glad you’ve got an assist from your niece with the cabin. The foliage looks great. Our trip down here from NY - we saw some great colors, even in north FL horse country.
Betrayal, it sounds like you had a great time at the football game. Swag is always a welcome perk.
Carole, great report on your ultrasound, one year out appointment is perfect.
SNOW ❄️ is what I’m running from ladies! Upstate NY, higher elevations, will most likely have snow over this cold snap. Down here they say I brought the cold with me. But a high of 61 feels dang ok by me.
Intolight, I’d have thought for sure you’d have seen some snow.
Teka, I only miss snow on Christmas Eve into Christmas Day. A nice silent falling snow, when I’m inside toasty warm, that’s my kind of snow. We were just mentioning to a friend that we have snowshoes, and haven’t used them in years.
Betrayal - I could use a hand with my front walkway garden. There are weeds growing absolutely everywhere. The spot where the hurricane shutter rolls down retained some dirt on top of tiles - weeds are growing there. The spacing lines between the cement walkway - weeds growing there. Every pot has the original plant with weeds filling it. I’ve never seen such a mess.PS - as I unpacked tonight I was still finding jellied cough syrup on things. The gift that keeps on giving.
2 -
cindyny, I love to weed, it is somewhat therapeutic for me because I can just let my mind go where it wants. lol. However, this summer produced weeds at record levels and speed so it wasn't as therapeutic. So I can sympathize with what you have encountered. Sorry about the cough syrup mishap.
I am doing laundry today, but need to get back to my former routine for it. I usually did it on Thursdays because I don't schedule appointments on that day. However, the cruise sort of pushed that day to sooner. Changed bed to winter sheets today since it has been so cool at night. I like sleeping when it is cooler, but don't want to be cold.
Today is sunny, temps are dropping since we have already had the warmest early this morning and they will fall into the low 40's by this evening. It is quite breezy so I am sure it feels colder, too.
I need to address the filing I have been postponing. It won't take much time to do, I just hate doing it. So I will empty my mailbox and address that, plus what is on top my office desk.
carole, glad you got a clear scan. Good news.
Happy birthday to the US Marine Corps. My DB was in the Marines during the Vietnam war.
DD was housesitting while we were away and discovered a ceiling leak in the guest room closet. Seems the A/C in the attic decided to leak. She had a friend of her DH come to fix the closet interior. The closet is narrower than most due to duct work running down the back of it, so he had to remove and then replace damaged drywall. However, he removed, and we are concerned that he tossed the original closet pole. He bought and supposedly cut Rubbermaid shelving, but it won't work because when you put a hanger on it, it won't hang straight, but at an angle. The doors are sliding so it becomes a real issue with hitting the clothes. I am hoping I do not need to buy a new rod and new wood shelves. The Rubbermaid shelves extend so far out from the wall that there is no clearance to use the shelf space. I am annoyed that he did not measure once to see if this substitute would work. We were not reachable when we were at sea, so she could not keep us informed of what was happening. We are in a holding pattern while the HVAC decides what it needs to do and until we can repair the interior of the closet. DH uses this closet so his clothes are scattered all over the bed in this room and on the floor of DD's old room. What a mess.
Trying to appeal a Medicare denial, but never received the EOB from them. Never did this before, but the Medicare agent told me how to start the process which I really appreciated. MD not satisfied with what they had been paid for gyn appointment and used a code for a routine medical visit to boost payment. Medicare denied that and I was billed for $150. MD did send me a letter stating visit was medically necessary after my request. So word of warning, make sure you ask them to label visits medically necessary.
Hope everyone had a great day and waving "hi" to everyone.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
1 -
Betrayal - thanks for the tip. Make sure docs label the visits "medically necessary".
2 -
Carole - good news on the scan results. I’m sure that’s a relief.
Cindy - happy to hear you are safely in FL and warmer weather. The cough syrup spill sounds like a very sticky mess.
Betrayal - U Penn’s homecoming sounds like so much fun and I’m glad you could attend. Sorry to hear the HVAC leaked. Ah, the joys of homeownership and never ending repairs.
Petite - love the fall colors in your picture. That’s awesome if you can winterize the cabin and get more use out of it. It’s really nice that your niece can help out.
We have had a dusting of snow the last two nights similar to Teka’s picture. It’s been in the 30’s and very windy. My DS said he got a few inches of snow last night in Chicago but it had mostly melted by this afternoon.
We went for a walk earlier today and I was really glad I wore my winter jacket plus a hat and gloves. We had a teenage guy pass us while he was on a run - wearing sweatpants but no shirt. I guess it does not feel as cold when you are young. My son used to wear shorts year round when he was in high school.
I’m starting to pull clothes for our upcoming trip as we leave in less than three weeks. Of course that will depend on the flights and potential delays and cancellations. We put up and decorated our Christmas tree today. Yes, it’s early but we will be gone most of December returning home just a few days prior to the holiday.
I wonder how Sandy is doing?
2 -
Glad to have your quotes back, Betrayal. You and Jackie have spoiled us.
Smiled at the "who got snow first" contest. Our nights are in the 60's but it's still getting into the 90's during the day. Great golf weather.
Petite - sounds like you are really enjoying the cabin. I'm so glad. And I'm envious of the relationship you have with your niece. Mine live too far away.
Sending warm fuzzies to all that need them this week.

We had our first freezing temperatures of the winter in the early hours this morning. It's sunny outside and warming up. DH plans to play golf at 10 am. I put my collection of little succulent plants underneath the bench they sit on and covered the bench with pieces of a sheet. The bench is under the little entrance on the south side of the house so the plants should be fine. It's too much trouble to bring them inside.
Actually I didn't have a scan but an ultrasound of my underarms and chest. My bc was in 2009 but I choose to have this annual exam, especially since I had a surgery to remove old implants and replace with new implants a year (2 years?) ago.
Betrayal, sorry about the closet mess. It truly is "always something" with being a homeowner. Our current project on the horizon is a new roof since ours dates back to Katrina. The job is complicated by having solar panels that will need to be removed and replaced. We're investigating the fortified roof program. Being selected involves a lottery of applicants. Our location is within the map of eligibility. We can sign up for the next round tomorrow.
No real plans for today except chair yoga at 1 pm and deciding on a menu for dinner tonight. Nobody in the golf group chose to play golf today because of the cold.
Happy Tuesday to all.
