Hope Tuna is doing better

Tuna, is doing a lot better. He had his vet follow up and she felt he was doing OK. They did find a heart murmur on the follow up but they think it might have beenbrelated to anxiety from the vet visit. My husband took him and he said he was very scared. Tonight he is acting like he wants to play.

My girls celebrated their birthday yesterday. We dont know their actual birthdate as we adopted them when they were 9 weeks old. We did the math and estimated they were early September babies, so we chose Sept. 6 as their birthday. Princess just turned 11 and Grace is now 7

Brutersmom, Louie is terrified of going to the vet, but OK when gets there. He gets petted and told how handsome he is. Plus a treat.

Tuna became friends with a foster cat while I was at the shore. They are from different litters but the same age. He does not do well at adoption fairs. He like to play and run. When he is caged up he withdraws. He does not like to be held except on his terms. The rescue decided he should be a barn cat. We felt he would not survive so we took him in. His name is Gizmo. He loves play time, and treats. He an Tuna play a lot but they don't sleep together. He really is a fun cat. He just needs to learn some manners.

Since adopting Gizmo, this is how I have to thaw food I take out of the freezer. He has no boundaries. We are trying to teach him manners but it will take time

Misty's favorite napping place is DR'S clothes basket. She also likes to steal to his socks and scatter them around.

I sometimes wish I had my old self back. I am doing well but I just don't have the energy I did and the hormone meds seem to aggravate old injuries that hadn't bothered me in years. The last two weeks have been filled with cats. She has been TNRing at a place called FishPond West. So far the have done over 40 cats. She is away this week. The Sunday before she left she trapped the Mama cat that she has been trying to get all summer. Mama had 5 babies about 4 weeks old living under a shed. She, and a fellow trapper. Called for help. We were there until 2:00AM getting the babies.
We have been taking care of Mama this week. Her babies are adorable. 3 are pilydactyl. Here are some pictures.
I will share the rest of the story when I get some pictures tomorrow.

How cute and you do such valuable work saving the mamma's and their babies. Love the orange ones: marmalade and creamsicle, lol.

Some more of the story. Wednesday evening late we received a message we were receive two rescues back that had been adopted 5 days earlier. The people who adopted them described them as demons and said the were going to leave them outside the store and they didn't care if it was closed. These 2 kittens were sweet hearts before they were adopted. They claimed they attacked their older cat and bit the owners. A volunteer did a pick-up and the cats were dropped off here about 11 pm. We turned them loose and both ran and hid. We put out extra food. They got along well with my cats when they stayed here in August. Both were very skinny. Thursday they came out to play. Yesterday I got the food they had at the store while waiting for adoption and in foster care. Liam didn't seem to want to eat the kitten food. Now he is eating the kitten food like he is starving. Hopefully he pumps back up this weekend. Both have been playing and sitting on my lap. They don't play with the other kittens or cats but they don't fight either. But there is still more.

The rest of the story. Thursday I got a request from my daughter to go pick up two 8 week old kitten at the pet store because there were socialization issues. In the mean time, my husband is greeted by one of my daughters cats with a swollen foot. Our only option was an urgent care vet. We needed to reach our daughter. His foot was absessed they cleaned it and bandage. While my husband is dealing with this I am picking up 2 kitten. One appears under the weather. I notice she has a pot belly I found out today they missed there second dose if parasite meds. My best guess is roundworm. I treated her this morning here is hoping. The rescue has been notified and we are treating for parasites first. She is still active and eating. Things are finally settling down to a dull roar. Of course my daughter also returned today. I will keep the kittens until they go back to the store. I still need to get pictures of Jack and Chrissy. They are so cute.

Kitten update. In the last 2 weeks the two adoption fails were relocated to a new foster. Two of my male cats did not like Liam. They are now with a new foster and the appear to be thriving so I am happy for them. I hope they either have an adoption fail or find a good home.
There are so many kittens right now. My three other kitten fosters are growing. They were bottle fed so we have to ration food. They are all over eaters. Hopefully they will go back to the adoption center. They are now all 4 lbs and their little pot bellies are gone.
My two kittens are just that. Gizmo found the sink and Tuna is honoring the tin guard.

Roxy loves to pull open drawers, throw the contents on the floor and snuggle up inside. In our Lincolnwood rental (where the chests & dressers were the collapsible cardboard & cloth dorm-room kind) she actually pulled Bob's emptied sock drawer closed behind her; we panicked when we couldn't find her until we heard loud purring coming from the dresser! Our dressers here at our house are solid oak, but she is insanely resourceful (has figured out how to work doorknobs!) despite her diminutive size, and I fully expect her to figure out how to pull open my dresser drawers!

My house is over run with cats. Right now I have 3 fosters and my own babies. I have been making carrier covers for the TNR group. The goal is to have somet
hing that stays on better when transporting feral because they can potentially carry illnesses. I just finished the regular carries and I am now working on traps. In the mean time I put mu older cats on a diet. They are slowly starting to loose weight. As a result they are more active and the house is a bit active right now. Any way I the start was a bit rough.
