Teka, thanks for the reminder.
Chris, I will pray for your DH's procedure. I pray this will alleviate his issues and thank God it is not cancer. Your DGD sounds like a great greeter for church. I imagine she will find a very interesting career when she is older.
I just finished our HOA meeting. I wasn't sure if I was going to make it as I have had a stomach virus that hit Monday night and I woke up early on Tues. morning with terrible stomach pain. I had to cancel my eye apt. which I really needed and my PT session. I am doing better now. I don't usually have these type of symptoms and certainly don't bounce back so fast but I am thankful I did.
This is garbage night and I have to take care of that now so I will be signing off now.
Take care everyone.
Love,
Nancy

Nancy, I'm praying that you are soon feeling better and over the stomach virus, and hopefully everything is falling into place with your new carpet and all.
Chris, I'm happy for your DGD, she must be so much fun. Also praying for your DH's procedure and for you.
Hershey, I'll add your Pastor John to my prayers that he will respond to the treatment and it would dissolve the cancer. Also praying for your DH pt twice a week and that it is helpful. I'm glad to hear your ultrasounds turned out well and pray nothing further needs to be done.
Teka, praying for you and your DH, thank you for your little notes of encouragement that make us smile!
I'm back from AZ and now it's also back to colder weather. My sister is doing well, except for wanting desperately to go back to the apartment, she has lost more memory and in the evening when I call she can maybe recall what they did in the afternoon but not that morning. My brother in law is doing well, he would like to bring her to the apartment occasionally but we all are pretty sure if he did she would NOT be moved to go back to memory care.
My nurse friend is doing a little better right now, her sister is back again because a dear friend of hers passed away and she wanted to be here for the service on Monday. So we have been busy and have a few Thanksgiving things planned.
May you all have a blessed Thanksgiving!
Love, Wheatfields

Wheatfields, I am glad you were able to visit your sister. I know it must be difficult knowing she has not completely settled in to her home there. I am glad you are making the effort to visit her through out the year. You are a good sister. I am glad your nurse friend is doing better. Enjoy your Thanksgiving.
Chris, how is your DH doing after his procedure? I hope this will give him the relief he needs. I hope you are feeling well going into the holidays. I bet all of your Christmas decorations look beautiful.
Herhsey, I hope your DH has adjusted to his PT sessions. I have prayed that once he gets there and finds some relief he will have a more positive attitude towards it.
Teka, praying for you. Enjoy your family during this time of Thanksgiving.
I hop you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I posted this picture because it was so inviting. I would love to walk through this beautiful scene. This is NOT one of my pictures but I wish it was!
I will be able to join my sister and her family for Thanksgiving. I haven't joined them for several years because of Cammie's daily meds. I haven't seen them since last Christmas and I will stay a little longer too. I know we will have fun.
Take care and have a wonderful weekend.
Love,
Nancy

Nancy, I am so happy to read you are going to your sister's for thanksgiving. I know you will have fun and emjoy your family!
My DH is doing well. The procedure went fine and he is not in pain. He has a few restrictions so we are glad we put up all the Christmas stuff early as he can't lift for three weeks. My SIL is cooking Thanksgiving this year so we will be able to relax and enjoy family too. Today I have my six-month dental appt (Arghh!) but I think it will be fine. I really like this dentist so that helps although this is just a cleaning. I am diligent with the appointments as the medicine I am on is not good for your teeth. My DD and DGD just left for their annual trip to Santa's Village. We usually go but since my DH isn't allowed to walk much, we will sit this one out. I am sort of glad as it is super cold today. It is very hilly there and I sit in the scooter most of the time because of the hills which gets cold. It boasts the highest altitude ferris wheel in the world at 7600 ft. even though it is small, but it is fun. Our DGD doens't believe in Santa anymore (sniff, sniff) but she plays along with it. We finally got our first snow Saturday.
Wishing everyone here a happy Thanksgiving.

Update: The dental appointment went well with no issues needing attention. Yay! (If you know me you know about my paranoia!
My DD said Santa's Village was not busy at all probably because it was so very cold (in the low 30s) although it started to snow so they left early. That was fine with her as it meant the line to see Santa and the few rides they wanted to ride were very short. She even got close parking (small blessings!) They shut down the village for bad weather forecast. One of the workers told her the line to see Santa on Sunday was very long and it was snowing. Yikes! They do have outside heaters placed along the line, but it is still cold. You have to buy tickets online but they only go on sale two days beforehand so they can monitor the weather and try not to open on bad weather days. It is only 26° here right now…brrr… It is supposed to be a high of 45 for tomorrow and Thanksgiving but no snow so we should be fine to drive across town for dinner. Winter has arrived. Stay warm and safe everyone.

Black Friday……

Teka, my piggy bank looks even more emaciated than that one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My new furnace is SOOOOOO loud and sits right next to my TV since I have no basement. I had to crank up the volume so much my speakers blew out. So there is a Black Friday sale still going on at Best Buy so I am maybe going to venture out in this big snow storm we are having. I see someone shoveled my sidewalk up to my house but it is hard to tell if they shoveled my driveway. My neighbors are going to take care of that for me and I do pay them.
Chris, I am glad your DH is doing well after his procedure. Yes, a good thing you got your Christmas decorations up early. I hope you had a nice and relaxing Thanksgiving with your SIL doing the cooking.
I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I drove downstate to my sisters on Wed and came back on Friday because a big snow storm was coming on Saturday (today). Both my niece and I cut our trips short because of the weather. We both had to contend with a high wind advisory on Wed. Boy they weren't kidding. I had to be very careful as some trucks were having a hard time with wind gusts and staying in their lane.
This is the first time I went out to eat with my family on Thanksgiving. It was nice and much easier for my sister who is having health issues and has been in PT too. We can't convince her to do that on Christmas though. She and her DH both have between them massive amounts of health issues. My BIL is 100% disabled and has macular degeneration so has a really hard time seeing anything. He gets a lot of help from the VA and has all of these neat technology devices that will help him with everyday things. His new device is Meta glasses. It is a Siri thing which can tell him what he is looking at. It is a learning curve he hasn't mastered yet but I am glad these things are available for blind people and those people who have macular degeneration.
Have a good rest of the weekend. We are in the midst of a massive snow storm which we haven't had like this for a very long time. I am thankful for neighbors that shovel for me. I am thankful for my new furnace even though it is loud.
Love,
Nancy

H & I did plenty of shopping on Cyber Monday.
Christmas cards are in the mail.
We're looking forward to supporting local stores while shopping for stocking stuffers.
In my prayers one and all.

I think I am almost done with Christmas prep—shopping, decorating, etc. Just a few cards to get out if I decide to do it, and all the wrapping. I got so few cards last year I am not sure it is worth it anymore. I used to send out almost 300 when we were in ministry before we retired. My how times have changed!
Anyone else on here feel like you have cognitive stress from all these meds? I don't trust myself to do complicated things anymore. I don't have dementia, but I don't trust myself. Any time I need to do something important I defer to my DH or at least have him check on it. I was able to order a new dishwasher, and it was a good choice, but I stressed about taking my DD with me to choose it. In the past I was so independent I made most of our decisions. Just wondering whether I should be concerned.

Teka, good for you. My family decided quite a few years ago to not exchange gifts so for many years I just bought for my parents and then eventually just my Mom. I used to sneek in a gift for my sister and I would say it is winter gift. I stopped doing Christmas cards quite a few years ago. I am unable to write legibly anymore. It would take me forever to make cards for everyone so I send ecards and have cut down on those.
Chris, I have been having similar issues. It could be part of my newer diagnosis. I find myself reversing letters when typing. This has been a fairly recent thing. I find myself doing strange things in my usual automatic way of doing things. I too am a bit concerned. Since my Mom had dementia I know it can be heritary. I am definitely stressed and this can go along with my diagnosis as well.
I hurt my shoulder a week ago and last night it just ached so bad I couldn't sleep for most of the night. I finally got up and watched TV and took a muscle relaxer and finally went back to bed. I had the strangest dream that a bear got in our house. It was so real and frightening. It was my parents house I think and not mine. I think that could be partly from the muscle relaxer.
I guess we keep moving forward the best we can. I already have a very good friend going through cancer and another very good friend who has waited a month for a breast biopsy coming next Monday. I texted her and told her I was praying for her. She said because of the discomfort she has been in she thinks it is cancer. These two friends are the few people I would confide it when I got my cervical dystonia diagnosis. I did not want to burdern either one of them because of what they are dealing with in their own health issues. So I got back to PT today feeling very tight and stressed. Trying to relax and not get stressed is a continual battle for me. I suspect it is for many people as well.
Have a good night dear sisters.
Love,
Nancy
