Cats, cats, cats

I would like to take Midnight Louie with me for a vacation, but I think 9 hours in the car will drive us both crazy. LOL. I have meds from the vet, but it doesn't help.

I have no suggestions. I find cats have a hard time being transported. We have been doing a lot of transport of rescue kittens. I made covers for the carriers rather than just a blanket to cover them. This last batch seemed to do better or maybe it is just their personalities. It keeps them warm with our cold weather and protects them from germs.

We moved from Texas to Washington with two cats and a litter of kittens too small to leave their mom. They were loose in the car. They put the kittens under the ac vent and took turns caring for them. Used leashes for the adults at rest stops. I think the carrier scares them because they have no control.
My office put in new carpet and I snagged a piece and cut to fit the cat carrier. Having something to dig claws into made a huge difference for our cat.0 -

Misty says Merry Christmas to all. This is her first tree and like all my other cats, it seems to be a magnet for her, too.

Yes Trees are a magnet young and old. I will put the skirt on tomorrow. As soon as I do, there will be kitties under the tree waiting.

Many years ago, my roommate had a cat who knocked over the tree at least 3 times. We did have no break balls on the tree, but eventually my roommate was so annoyed she stripped the tree and threw it out. He was one ornery cat.
We had one kitten who was barely 4 lb. and spent the entire Christmas holiday climbing in the tree and appearing as the pop out ornament. All of a sudden her little head would pop out from the interior of the tree. She never knocked an ornament off or damaged the tree. She just liked to climb it and it made us laugh.

Cats are so amazing with the things they do. Mine have been pretty good with the tree. I probably will spend the afternoon trying to get them all in the bedroom for my christmas eve gathering. We shall see.

The girls are doing great. I recently inearthed Grace's cat bed from a box since she was using one of my throw blankets as a bed in my recliner. Was worried shecwouldn't use it as I put it in my recliner one time to plug something in and I turned around and there she was all happy and curled up. So now at night i put the bed on my recliner and take one of my throws and drape it over and leave an opening so she has a cozy cave to sleep in. Princess just started to sleep on her daddy's blankets and let me cover her when I go to bed. She never used to let me do that.

qbvu476 what cuties.
I have had this foster since before Christmas. We took him to try and tame him. He was fine in a cage but when we released him into the house he would go feral on us. At Christmas we passed him around to anyone who wanted to hold him and he loved it. He has turned into a sweet cat and is now ready for adoption. He is quite a talker. He chirps and barks. His name is Stiker because he was found on a soccer field.

He's beautiful. Hope he finds a good home soon. I could never foster because I would surely fail, so kudos to those that can.

This is one of my babies. Liten (pronounced LEE- tn) is my rescued from a flower bed during a 2-day thunderstorm “baby”. She is 4 years old now and still hates thunder.

She is beautiful. Reminds me of my recent foster Striker. I will soon post some pictures of our new fosters. They are not fans of us yet. Soon.

kathryn, she is the spitting image of my Leo (Leonides) that I rescued when he was just about a year old after he had been abandoned twice. He was very skittish according to the rescue and hid in a huge console they had. they pulled him out and put him in another room with me. I talked to him, but made no overtures towards touching him. After an hour, he climbed on my lap, to the amazement of the staff who had limited contact with him, and then he went home in my carrier. He is truly a velcro cat and mostly stays in my bedroom. He's 14 now and still a flyweight around 9 lbs. Just love him to bits.
