Lovely. I had a very light orange cat that I loved. He became diabetic in his old age and lived to be 2 months short of 20 years old. He loved to be bathed and then I would blow dry his hair after. His purr was so loud. He'd lived outdoors for about 3 years before I was able to move him from a covered window well (with a cat bed) into the garage and then into the house. He wasn't truly feral, he'd been abandoned and was distrustful of humans afterwards.

Once indoors he was a velcro cat and never more than 3 feet from me. He was more the color of your lightest colored cat. He never wanted to go outside again. I still miss him.

    Enjoy these two.

    Aww all kitties are cute!

  • Hi everyone, I need some advice. I brought my beloved cat with me to the city I'm getting treatment in (a bigger city). He is a wildish stray, used to going out in nature and coming back. There's no way I can let him out now, the city is chaotic and he for sure will be hurt.

Problem is, he got upset that his life changed and he can't go out anymore, so he keeps meowing till the morning, keeping me awake. I've just started chemo and sleep is really important. I'm not sure what to do. Nobody can take him and look after him at the moment as he is awful in new situations and other cats.

Hi Justforher. I am sorry you are hear and that you are having kitty issues. He sounds stressed. My daughter went through this with one of her cats where he wouldn't stop meowing. She took him to the vet and they prescribed an antidepressant. Her cat actually stopped before she started meds. In her case she did not know what the trigger was. I would get him to a vet and have him evaluated. he may need help adjusting to his new life style.

I have some new foster. These two kittens are Noel and Nick. Nick is white, Noel is grey. These were rescued from a home owned by a 90 year old women that they assisted with TNR. They are considered house ferals. They are very timid. We can hold them but if they get loose they are very hard to catch unless they are hungry. We think we will be able to tame Nick we are not sure about Noel. They were rescued at 12 weeks.

Last night we had visitors. These two little guys were recently rescued. They are Amore and Shamu. They are approximately 8 weeks old. They have been slower to adapt to people than their siblings. The one kept hissing at me. He was so cute. He open his mouth like he was hissing but nothing came out.

  • I love these kitties!!! Keep the stories coming.

  • Thanks for all the lovely comments about Liten. I particularly liked the story about Leonides. Great name! My very first cat who was truly mine was an alley cat I spent days courting in an Oklahoma red dirt alley when I was about 9 years old. She was the spitting image of Liten and probably the source of my obsession with green eyed blue-grey cats.

@runningwith2cats what beautiful colored coats. Do they also have exceptionally long tails? A friend of mine has two brothers (similarly colored) with extra long tails. They are also exceptionally sweet.

  • @kathrynw1thasea Thank you. Mine do not have exceptionally long tails. They are average length.

Little Striker is back with us from the adoption center until Monday night or Tuesday due to the snow. He has been gone a week. He arrived back this evening and made himself right at home.

I love all the kitty pictures and stories. This is Midnight Louie. He has been gaining weight and no longer 9 pounds. He will be 10 in March.

  • Cats are so amazing! Where else can you get unconditional love and total judgement in the same moment?

My poor Midnight Louie fell into the pool, yesterday. 30 degrees! Poor baby!. After drying off, he slept most of the day. I didn't get too wet.

  • @kathrynw1thasea , thank you! She definitely is the diva in the house!

My two little fosters can be little clowns. Shamu falls asleep wherever, today it was head in the food bowl, and Amore has the cutest face. The area around his mouth reminds me of a clown with one side happy and the other side straight faced. Clown he is not. He still like to hiss and try to scratch.

Took Grace to get her shots yesterday, has to go back in three weeks for the booster for the distemper shot. So yesterday when she got home she was a sluggish and lazy little loaf. She weighs 9 lbs for a fluffy tabby. Her sister is about the same. My babies are healthy.
