LMAO at all your one liners.

Kathy, I still have a lot of pain but nothing as compared to the breast surgeries. And the pain is my own fault. I asked my doc today if I was allowed to rake leaves, push a shopping cart, vacuuum etc and he said no, THREE months before I can use it for more than "carrying a cup of coffee".  I did my best to protect the arm, raked with one hand and just had lefty assist with the bagging. And once my grocery cart got too heavy to push with one hand, I turned it around and pulled it..and i sure looked goofy! Anyway, my titty is hurting more than the arm. Having been forced to use my right arm for everything has made my titty pain worse. That pi$$es me off. I am over three months post-titty-op and hate that it still hurts. I am also pi$$ed that I have to get cut again in must 35 days. Aren't you glad you asked? Don't feel bad for me. I am blessed to be cancer free and know that This too Shall Pass.

Lori, I am so glad you googled chris noth and butt. You are my hero. I have been laffing inside all day over this. What ironry, Kathy "meets" and "recruits" MR. BIG and Lori investigated to prove that he lives up to his name.

I'm living up to my name and having some vino, bonterra Chardonnay, yum! DH went to liquor store tonight and bought a new vodka he found, three olives cake flavored! Will have to take a sip of that, Fo Sho! Went to the store after my last post, and saw a snack called pirate's booty. I just HAD to buy it, with the booty in the name, lol. Pretty good stuff! And DorK, you're right, this is a drinking thwed, not a sexy thwed. I have been soooo naughty here lately. I'm going to bend over now and cept my punishment like a big girl. Mr. Big, start the spankins.......

Wahine....you are so correct...that is what DH and I think as well...DS never did tell us, but thats what we think

Goldie...DS is 22....so still an adolescent, but not a teenager....I only have one teenager in the house....and thats my darling DD#2 whose 13 1/2 and he is the light of my life....I have survived two kids getting through the teens.....

Kymn...not sure what to tell you about lunch...I guess it depends on how strong you feel....could you leave the lunch if you are feeling that he is doing a number on you.....

DorK....glad that you are out of the splint...but you take care of your arm and don't over do it....be a good patient....

NM...I hear what you are saying.....when I was on prozac, I was spiraling downward and beginning to feel the depths of despair......My dearest bff even asked me if I was suicidal and I had to convince her I wasn't.....I knew that I was hurting and wanted the  pain to end, but I couldn't imagine doing that and the hurt it would cause my family....I'm off all meds now and have my ups and downs....I'm only seeing a therapist...I didn't see her for about 3 or 4 weeks due to my schedule and I was feeling pretty good last week till I saw her, then I started feeling down again.....I'm back on the upswing but I see her again on Thursday....just not sure if I want to keep going or not...if its worth it or just say this is as good as it gets.....NM...I think it was you who wondered if DS was dealing with the BC and asked about counseling for him....don't think BC is at the top of his mind...he did struggle with it at time of Dx, but I think that since I'm done Tx its not part of his life....plus its not a major topic of discussion at home....he does do the Komen RFTC with us, but other than that, BC is not part of his vocabulary....DD#2 doesn't like when we talk about possible recurrence etc.....I do talk BC with her...but then again, DD#2 and I talk and do alot together.....

I order my wine online and just opened my last bottle of cabernet....ordered more last night and should be here Friday...so I need to make this bottle last 3 nights!!!!  Think I can do it!!!!

Have to write a report for work tonight....2nd one in a row...just not enough hours in the day, but not something I like doing...hoping I can get it done in 30 - 45 minutes....staffing is supposed to be tomorrow, but I think it will be postponed....but anyways my day at work is pretty full tomorrow!!!  Also need to sign DD up for camp....early bird special ends today....its a saving of about $300...so since she wants to go back to camp again its worth it...thats the price of a plane ticket to camp...she goes to camp in the catskills....So I guess its time to get off the computer and get these things done....Hope to be back later tonight....

Bernie - So glad you are feeling better. I've had a sinus thing that's been annoying and giving me a head ache, but not a cold, maybe allergies?? Anyway, it's a bit better today. Haven't heard of Poteen, but it sounds like a kick. BTW - I tink it's nearly impossible to keep up on this thread, so I think jump in and out, wherever!

    sick

Wahine - Oh good you got Bernie fixed up with some dwinks! How interesting Noth will be playing JP Morgan, that should be interesting...Noth sounds like he was pretty cute in person. Thanks for sharing more about when your DH passed away - there are times when it seems like it's so bad it's not worth going on, but thank goodness you got support and got to the other side of that grief. Your story brings tears to my eyes. I do hope if any one ever feels that low that they will reach out for support. When I went through a divorce I just had so many feelings to deal with, it was such a difficult time. Oh, boy another taker for the Magic Party UFO - too cool! Okay, just found all your balls too - LOL!

    ball

NM - I read your posts yesterday and today and they were absolutely wonderful as always. I am so sorry to read about the local minister. Just such a sad story and reading today more of what was going on for him. I'm not so good at making up prayers as you, but would like to post this:

    lords prayer

Having my moods here and there I can only imagine the depth of despair he was in to jump. This prayer reminds me that we ask for forgiveness and also ask to be able to forgive. Really so sad. I'm glad you are hanging in there, but sheesh, sounds like you have a lot of things that will be pushing your buttons right now. Please rant away anytime, I love your posts!! Those shakin buns are so funny!

Geez do we ever need professionals who understand cancer anxiety and fears! I have been journaling a lot to try to face my fears. I'll let you know when I have no more anxiety and fear - ha ha ha - (fukitols are a good solution!)!!! LOL at your end results picture! Just so funny. And I'm so glad your up for a Magic Party UFO...Love the party dude! And perfect DOTD's "Newbie's Welcome and The Ball Watcher!!

GoldieBabyBug - Yeah, DH digs his mountain for sure. I think I get my sculpture after I get back from Cali, he couldn't get it here before I leave...well unless he got off his mountain to the post office. Will see. Thanks for splainin bout the pumpkin - I should have figured it out, can I still blame chemo-brain? It is a cool idea, no pun intended. Oh goodie, another yes vote for Magic Party UFO - I'm stoked! Tanks for da support too, I aperchiate and am doing better cept for dang sinus cr*p. It's not a cold, I really tink allergy, which is weird, but there's a lot weird, so whatever! LOL at the quilt or kilt!! So funny! Oh!!! Love the Blue Balls DOTD too, how funny! I really did about fall off my chair this morning too at "Being a Dick" that is so funny, I printed and mailed to DH in his Thanksgiving gift! Thanks for posting!! Just great words to NM too! I get that she is so strong but it's good to remind her and alls us that we need to reach out when we's are feeling bad. I go down the rabbit hole and get lost in work, then realize, holey moley there is a whole world out there!

Jaybird - How funny you dint see the star, but to tell the truth I don't have a clue who he is...I'm kinda out of it...don't watch teli anymore. So neet you two got to meet! Hope your Moscow trip is great!

Kymn - Washington is getting awful cold too, I sympathize. So pretty, but brrrr! I think that would be so freaking difficult to have him across the street. I like Wahine's words to keep your guard up.

Juliet - You are soo funny, love your posts! Also love your reminder to all not to forget how many people love us, really beautiful words, thank you!

Mrs V - Wow, you are another hottie! I figured out that bc really only targets really hot, gorgeous, beauties like all of you here at the HTL! Thanks for the tan advice, I'm so white it's blinding, like a snow storm. Wow! Thanks for splainin bout da puddin and jello shots too, what a fun idea! When I get my DH back here I tink I'll try gettin him loaded on puddin shots! Ooooooooooooo!!! Woooooo Hoooooooooooo more yeses to the Magic Party UFO - dig it!!!! Yes, and happy birthday to your DD! And good news about your boobs, so glad for a good check up! Hope you enjoyed your vino!

    vino

Undercover - LOL at the thread being nothing but a**! And sitting in your freezer!! And starting a sex thread...oh man, these girls are on a roll!

Karen - So glad you came to vent and good luck with those teens! Thanks too for sharing about when you had spiraled down, I think it happens to most of us at some time...I really think writing in a journal is helpful. Good luck with all the work tomorrow.

Dofey - Uggg, I don't want you to hibernate, I'm glad you spoke up about it and got it out of your system and got some dwinks flowing! That is so cool your people will also help when any ladies are feeling down - yippee! I seen yer people so I know they have many talents!! Love all da balls! Interesting you tell Kymn to say no to lunch, I was thinking that, but don't like to tell people what to do...just seems like he's got an agenda and could be upsetting. I would want to find out first what the agenda was so I could be prepared for a meeting. So sorry about your awful twip to the docs - that just sucks! But hurray that you are splint free, that must be a nice freedom. Isn't Juliet a riot with her one liners, she's totally cool! Cr*p, THREE months of no use, I'm so sorry DottyBabyDoll that is just awful, but at least you can hold two dwinks at once. You have just had so much cr*p to deal with and I'm sorry your titty hurts and I don't blame you for being pi$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ed! I'm so glad you are keeping a positive attitude as much as possible cuz Sweetie, it will pass...just hang in there!

    road

Scuby - What beautiful words to NM, I couldn't have said it bettah, she's just so loved here and gives so much to us with her fantastic posts.

Chrissy - The balls have really been rolling here lately!

Tiedye - DorK and I had the tenders get the bus all full of likker so we can be with you tomorrow for port placement! Wahine says to look for us and listen for the giggles, we will be all small and giggling and making sure your doc does everything right! Junie gots the foil all ready to go too I'm sure! Best wishes to you and pleeeeese know that we all been there waiting for these tests, it is just so hard wondering what the test results will be...just hang in there and we will be here for you. BEANIUS- The girls here are crazy. I finally found my home. Usually after doing research here and on other sites I would always go over to FB because over there no one knows what's going on. I'm normal there and it feels nice to be normal for awhile. But then I found this thread and it's been a lot of fun. Never imagined it would be a site for fun. As for my diet plan to replace all sugar drinks w/booze it's going beautifully. I'm so glad i'm on a healthy diet nowWink. Back to my Lemoncello cream. This stuff tastes too good to be real.

Got my comfy leopard seat in the Magic Party UFO.....thanks Beans for making sure Mr.Big not only stocked it wif da likker, but HE is the Tattie Tender for the UFO today...wheeeeeeeeee. OOPS, can't type too long here as I gotta make sure the Seagrams is on the BOTTOM shelf....oh my DorK beat me to it. Well I will just put the Seagrams next to her JD! Will be fun to be on the inagural UFO flight....will try to keep an eye on the Party Bus for those of you that want to stay on land! Tiedye, we are on our waaaaaaaaaay!!!!! Partying and Praying for the very best for you!!

Love your titty cartoon Beans! ANd the others too (can't go back to that page), and your post menioning something to everyone. You are so sweet and thoughtful. Except even though that kitty avatar is a cutie patootie, I miss seeing your smiling face. Puleez put yourself back in that avatar....pwety puleez!

Looks like undercover and Juliet were on a ROLL, or a rolling ball, in the middle of the night! Funny comments, girlz!

Bernie, WOW....17 hrs of sleep??? You will be ready for ANYTHING today! Glad you got caught up. Never thought of what Poteen was made of, but totally makes sense. That statue in Dublin of the emaciated people boarding a boat for the US, when the potato famine hit, was so touching. I took several pics of it. My god, they were skin and bones, and so many didn't survive the trip. So sad, but apparently that is how so many Irish ended up in the US. I am so glad Ireland and the US have good relations, and everyone we met was so friendly and nice!

Trying to wake up, need more caffeine...Pants, another shot of da joe, puleez!!! And this time could ya puleez add some Baileys?? OH NO, make that Irish Whiskey instead...Tullamore Dew! This morn, I am going over to paint with my mom. She just is not motivated anymore to paint on her own. I am going to attempt a christmas scene for my christmas cards (loooks Hawaiian w/ palm tree and christmas lights). Will be very simple though! It is a dreary day, cloudy and rainy. We may even get bad storms today. Hope the weather is good up high, for our UFO flight today!!!

Happy Humpity Hump Happenings (for Hump Day)!!!!

I have some of her paintings and they could be shown in an art gallery, she was that good. Hoping I can keep her motivated to finish this beach scene she started, with dunes. Already have the frame and spot to hang it, in her home here!

Good morning, Loungettes! I spent the day yesterday helping friends pain their new place and boy-oh-boy did I get some stretching in! I can feel in some very odd places this morning, especially the back of my legs. Not sure if that if from bending over to pain low or from playing with the 3 and 4 year old little girls. I had such a good time. I've decided to boycott the news and the newspaper for a while. Makes for a much nicer day! Gonna have to check into those pics, too! Ooh la la!

Kymn-If you've got cold, I'll get it soon. Maine winter weather seems to come down from the North, so your weather posts give me some warning! Please, Please, Please take someone with you if you do meet your ex for lunch! Having a witness present can only help you. You are not crazy for wanting the tension gone. And yes, it can be made to go away, but that takes time. Hang in there!

DorK-HOORAY for splint free! More dwinkies for DorKy! And knowing you are blessed to be cancer free does NOT mean that you are not allowed to get pi$$ed off at the pain and the need to get cut again.

    SOAPBOX WARNING:
An open letter to all the world outside bco:
I am soooooo sick of the attitude that all I should care about is being cancer free. Yes, I am glad to be cancer free, and I thank my LORD very, very often for being in that state. But I really resent the idea that being cancer free is enough to offset the pain, horror, fear, and misery that the treatment put me through, and the ongoing fear of recurrence. Yes, I am happy with my reconstruction results, but some days I look at the scars and cry and wish I didn't have them, and wish I didn't have to go through 19 hours of surgery and a long summer of recovery just to look "normal." Being cancer free does not make pain hurt less. It does not make painful and frightening procedures pain free and easy. When a nurse or technician or doctor tells me that I'm over-reacting to something I wish I could make them understand that I am "over reacting" BECAUSE of what happened during and after treatment. I want to scream at them "It's YOUR fault! YOU made me this way with you lies, painful procedures and the 3 years of my life YOU stole from me!" When I tell the receptionist about my fears and she snidely says that she'll mark chart "patient needs special handling" I just want to tell her that being treated like a human being is NOT "special handling." I'm sorry that I can't meet everyone's expectation that now that treatment and recon are done that it's all over and I should be over "all that" and "get on with life." Yeah, right, you try getting on with life with doctors appointments to look for a recurrence of cancer or to get a shot in the a$$ to put you in menopause every 4 months . I'm not allowed to forget what I've been through. I can't afford to either. My life and my very self has been changed by what I've been through. I'm sorry I'm not doing the breast cancer survivor thing the "right way." Who decided what is the "right" way to be a survivor anyway? Some survivors need to do the militant get-you-mammogram thing. I can't. I am not the cancer I once had. Yes, I am glad to be cancer free. But that does NOT balance out the rest of what has happened to me. I will survive this the way I can, and I do not care if it's not the way you like.

Phew. Not sure where that came from but it fell good to write it out!

Scuba-you are correct, the PET scan gives a lot of detail about what parts of the body have the most metabolic activity. Increased metabolic activity is caused by inflammation, infection, cancer, most mets, and injury. The best info obtained by pairing a PET scan with another scan, such as a CT or Bone scan. If the bone scan shows abnormalities in the same place the PET lights up, you have confirmation of something going on. If I were to have a bone scan and a PET scan my knees would light up due to the inflammation and injury from the arthritis I have there. Pairing the PET with a CT scan shows if there is soft tissue (organs, skin, anything but bone) abnormalities. The advantage to a PET is that it can pick up increased metabolic activity before there is enough damage to the bone or tissue to show on a bone or CT scan. Like all test, it has it's drawbacks. ANY metabolic increase will be shown, so if you bumped yourself and had a bruise that would show up. If you had a scratch or cut, even if it's not infected, that would show up, too. So not every lit up spot is a met or a cancer. It really takes a human being with the patient in front of him/her to interpret the results the most accurately.

Karen-I'm still working on finding a therapist, and hoping that will help with the PTSD symptoms, at least. For me Prozac was and is a lifesaver. But everyone responds differently to meds. Sometimes kids are thinking or worrying about something without talking about it, but it will show in their actions and behavior, that's why I was asking about your DS having counseling available. And bc is something hard for males to talk about sometimes. Have a good time at work, don't work too hard!

Beanie-We definitely need a "Don't read while drinking" warning on some postings! Thank you for the prayer, that one works every time, every place, every situation!

Bernie-amazing what a good sleep will do for you!

Tiedye-I see the tenders getting the bus ready, and the checklist is almost all done. We'll be there for you!

Undercover-we do have fun here. We also know the seriousness of life with bc. BUT, quality of life is more important than anything else and here we insure that the alcohol flows freely!

Ok, I could not get in this morning, and now I am 2 pages behind! Please send the UFO transporter right away!

MrsV, FUNNY story about your friends DD, but oh my, she got in trouble! How old is she now? And you naughty naughty girl! Bending over in front of the boys for a spanking! Cake flavored vodka? I can't even imagine that tasting good, please do tell. And how funny about the pirates booty. Kathy had a similar story!

Kymn! Where are you? How did things go with FAH?

DorK, yay for no splint! But you still be careful, ya hear? I am so sorry for all of your pain tho, my dear sista, and I don't care if I said the "S" word. My heart aches for you, and I pray for you to heal and be pain free. I see you are mocking my quilt, I tell ya girl, I was just so frazzled!

UnderCover (Shannon) I believe there are threads here on sex. I know there is one titled "I want my mojo back) the girls over there (from what I remember, when I visited awhile back) get a bit explicit!

Silly, silly Goldie!!! Of course YOU are the pretty strawberry blonde girl that Cindy was referring to! I agree with the pretty part and the blonde part, but strawberry blonde?

NM, Could tell how much pain you were in with the painting session, as everytime you meant to write "paint" it ended up as "pain"! LOL. Glad you had fun with the kids. So much I meant to comment on, as your posts are always so good, but now I foiget.

Kymn, Anxiously awaiting hearing how the lunch went. HOPE it went well, for your sake!

Well, finally the tornado watches and severe thunderstorm warnings are past us. Yesterday was the anniv of a horrid tornado that killed over 20 people (we all knew someone that died, it seemed). So of course today it made us all quite anxious when the watches/warnings came out! It did do some damage in town, and some areas are without power in town, too. I need to call my DD and make sure they are all ok.

Who the heck has that darn manual???? LOL. Good point, girlz.

Storms, storms, go away, and DON'T come back another day. Had to postpone painting with my mum, so hope she is still in the mood for it today. Ciao for Niao!
