I had another skinny margarita tonight. Yum!

I am going to try and paste a pic of my favorite flip flops...

Maybe not! They're called Rock Candy by Volatile. :)

Reef makes the flip flops with the beer openers. My husband has a few of them too.

    I love the party bus!

So I was thinking about doing a shot at the Komen walk at one of the casinos. They serve alcolohol 24/7 in this town. No fanny packs for me! I tried finding a cute hat for the walk. I got a pink leopard print one, but it doesn't match my shirt. Ugh! I might exchange it for a zebra striped one and get a pink ribbon to tie around it that matches the odd pink we got this year for a survivor shirt.

LOL, Bernie! When my youngest was a toddler and taking a bath, her aunt came over. She is heavy, with big boobs, and she bent down to give my DD a kiss. Very loudly, my DD said "Why is Aunt Evelyn's  bottom on her chest?", right in front of her. Guess the large cleavage looked like a butt to her, but was my face red!! OK...gotz ta read some more...couldn't sleep.

Today, May 1st, is Lei Day in Hawaii! We always wore leis to school, and elsewhere on this day. Happy Lei Day loungettes!!!

Happy Lei Day Kathy.  When I was a kid, we had Oleanders all around our house.  I used to make leis with them and wear them all the time.  Much later in life realized I was allergic to them.  No wonder my mom fed me allerest all the time...LOL

Welcome Chemosabe1 - we have lots of laughs and lots of dwinks...real and/or virtual as far as the dwinks...but the laughs are always real.

Gotta get ready to take Bella in for her fixin....Stella is to arrive shortly.

    Happy Lei Dey!!!

Mema, OMG cannot believe you made leis out of oleander blossoms! The sap from when you pick the flowers is poisonous (or so we were told)! Our neighbors in Hawaii had a hedge of oleander all around their property, and those pretty pink and white flowers were hard for kids to resist! Okay, looked it up, and here is some info....

    Toxicity

Nerium oleander has historically been considered a poisonous plant based on a number of its compounds that may exhibit toxicity, especially to animals, when consumed in high amounts. Among these compounds are oleandrin and oleandrigenin, known as "cardiac glycosides" which are known to have a narrow therapeutic index and can be toxic when ingested.

Toxicity studies of animals administered oleander extract concluded that the rodent and avian species were observed to be relatively insensitive to oleander "cardioactive glycosides".[8] Other mammals, however, such as dogs and humans, are relatively sensitive to the effects of cardiac glycosides and the clinical manifestations of "glycoside intoxication".[8][9][10]

However, despite the common "poisonous" designation of this plant, very few toxic events in humans have been reported. According to the Toxic Exposure Surveillance System (TESS) in 2002 there were 847 human exposures to oleander reported to poison centers in the United States.[11] Despite this exposure level, from 1985 through 2005, only three deaths were reported. One cited death was apparently due to the ingestion of oleander leaves by a diabetic man.[12] His blood indicated a total blood concentration of cardiac glycosides of approximately 20 μg/L which is well above the reported fatal level. Another study reported on the death of a woman who self-administered "an undefined oleander extract" both orally and rectally and her oleandrin tissue levels were 10 to 39 μg/g which were in the high range of reported levels at autopsy.[13] And, finally, one study reported the death of a woman who ingested oleander 'tea'.[14] Few other details were provided.

In contrast to consumption of these undefined oleander derived materials, there is no toxicity or deaths reported from topical administration or contact with Nerium oleander or specific products derived from them. In reviewing oleander toxicity Lanford and Boor[15] concluded that, except for children who might be at greater risk, "the human mortality associated with oleander ingestion is generally very low, even in cases of moderate intentional consumption (suicide attempts)."[15]V

Juliet, Love the "lemons and vodka" saying....I used to say that a lot!

Beansie, is dat why you like da wodka so muchly, cuz of da lemons you have been given lately? Did that "cock" ever visit again? That was really neat, and what a show he put on for you!!!

Well shoot, in honor of Lei Day, our Tattie Tenders are all hunked up and raring to go. Anyone wanna get "lei'd" by Pants, Jock, Mr. Bigger, Snow Job,Eric......???? The line starts right here.... OW....getting knocked down by the stampede..lol.

How about a MAI TAI today, and we can string all our orchids together to make a lei!

May Day is an ancient spring festival in the Northern Hemisphere. It's an astronomical holiday, one of the year's four cross-quarter days, or day that falls more or less midway between an equinox and solstice - in this case the March equinox and June solstice. The other cross-quarter days are Groundhog Day on February 2, Lammas on August 1 and Halloween on October 31. May Day also stems from the Celtic festival of Beltane, which was related to the waxing power of the sun as we move closer to summer. At Beltane, people lit fires through which livestock were driven and around which people danced, moving in the same direction that the sun crosses the sky.

I'm spent....I think its time to count the days instead of weeks till the end of the school year....I'm done in 4 weeks!!! but since I only work 3 days/week, I thinks it only 11 days...but they will but buy, hard, crazy days.....

My DD got into the National Junior Honor Society!!!  Induction is on my b'day...DH will be out of town, but DD and I will go to the ceremony then go out to dinner....or dinner 1st...We are going to see Wicked this Sunday....so we will go downtown early, go to H and M for her to use her b'day gift card then we'll go out to eat.....Looking forward as I've heard from a couple friends who have already gone to Wicked here in Denver say the performance is excellent!!!

DS had a root canal today.....his 3rd....he never took care of his teeth as a little kid....so we are both paying the price now....me and his DAd with $ and DS with pain....next is the crown...sure hope he starts taking better care of  his teeth....

Going to put dinner up for DH.....DD and I will eat later...DH had his physical this morning, so since he ate breakfast late, he didn't eat lunch and is hungry and doesn't want to wait till 7:30 to eat....so I'll eat with DD later....making tofu stir fry and rice....

Hi gals! Yes Mema, by the time I talked to you, had already been up all night with Aubrey, taken her to doc, spent over an hour trying to get her script filled, took her to school, rescheduled half my day, went home to get my work chit together, then called u 5 min before I had to be @ work while at the post office,,lol! Thoughtid give myself a new name, "wonder woman", but I don't deserve that title, cause we all go 100 miles an hour on a daily basis, right? I'm just blessed to have y'all to keep me grounded! Love ya!

Just gave Aubrey some Benadryl; jus a kicker to the other meds I fed her. Now I need to take mine. Talk to y'all tomorrow! Muah xoxoxo

YAY NM is baaaaaaaackkkkkkkkk! NO worries about ketching up...jest jump right in! I thought I would ketchup for the 12 days I was gone to Portugal, but jest habbn't had da time. SO nice having you back in the HTL!

Mema, Yeah, good idea to get rid of all the oleander! HOpe it helps your widdle furbabies! When I was in boot camp (national guard, but had regular army boot camp), we sang cadence to a song about "oly, oleander.....". We sang around the MayPole also....and had the colored (whatever)....was it crepe paper(?) in strips hanging down, and by the end it looked like it was woven around the maypole. Really a sports pole, but wth, it worked! So we had May Day and Lei Day all in one!

Congrats to your DD, Karen! That is quite an accomplishment!!!

Well dang i, I am working on toooo many twips. Thought I saw a price dwop to go to Newark in Dec, so reserved our flts, paid, chose seats, was printing it out, and WTH???/ Realized I had us flying IN to Newark NJ, but OUT of Laguardia, NYC!!!! Luckily the DL agent was able to cancel it for me. Back to the drawing board for me!

My mom just gets so confused sometimes. We were painting in the sunroom, and she glanced out and said "Look at the MONGOOSE on the patio". I said, you mean the duck? NO, she insisted it was a mongoose. SO I went to the window, and said, "Oh, its a squirrel". NO, she kept insisting it was a mongoose (can't hear as good either). When she finally realized I was saying "squirrel", she realized that is what it was! Funny she though of a mongoose....we have them in HI but you rarely see them, except across the road at night!!! The Canada Geese have brought their babies up on their patio, as well as the ducks and ducklings.

OK, time for tv shows! Had a nice Pau Hana....does everyone have a dwink in dere hand? Well, really we need one for ea hand, since its still TWOS-Dey!

    ChEARS!!!

Two engineers were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up.

A woman walks by and asks what they were doing.

"Ve're supposed to find da height of dis flagpole, " said Sven, "but ve don't haff a ladder."

The woman took a wrench from her purse, loosened a couple bolts, and
laid the pole down on the ground.

Then she took a tape measure from her pocketbook, took a measurement, and announced,
"Twenty one feet, six inches," and walked away.

Ole shook his head and laughed. "Ain't dat just like a voman! Ve ask
fer da height and she gives us da length!"

    Sven and Ole have since
quit their engineering jobs and are currently
serving in Washington, D.C. (either the House or the Senate)
