Madismom.... Hope you got your cc fraud thing straightened out. I had that happen to me about a year ago. Some guy was trying to purchase $3000 worth of window treatments from a decorator in New Jersey and have them shipped to Africa. An alert sales clerk got suspicious and called by credit card company to authorize payment....NO.
Mammak... Hope your leg is feeling better. I have so many aches and pains from Femara that I don't seem to get concerned with any of it anymore. Probably not a good thing.
My ONC called late last evening and said my CT was absolutely fine. Guess he was right, the tiny spot on my lung has never changed so we chalk it up to scar tissue from a previous respiratory infection. I can go on vacation and not worry about it! Char.... Have a great time at Hilton Head. Beautiful time to be there.0 -
joan - So happy about your CT results!

Robo have fun. You will be surprised that no one will even notice.0

Have fun Robo!!!! I went to the grocery store au natural today and didn't feel weird at all....my hair is starting to come off when I run my fingers through it....very easily....
this too shall pass for us!!!! Enjoy the last bit of time with it while you can, that's what I'm trying to do!! I'm going to my fave Mexican restaurant tonight and can't bring myself to put the rug on....my 8yo daughter said going "army style" was cool with her so YAY!!!! one more day with it....come Monday I'm thinking it'll be gone. *sigh*
YAY Joan.....awesome CT results!!!!!
It's funny....the c.c. fraud, I changed all my important passwords, closed down that account, got the ball rolling on the investigation and the charge reversed and moved on.....pre-BC I would have been freaking out and it would have ruined my day..... Now, I'm like "crap....oh well, we're still breathing" LOL....
Happy Saturday night ladies!!!!! No shopping sprees in Mexico unless I get to come!

Joan: Thankful for your good news.
MakMak: I have had two blood clots. If I concentrated I could feel the blood flow stop at the point of the clot. Thats where the pain came from. Healing thoughts your way.
This month is hubby month for me. I have spent the past month getting back with all my friends and it's time to spend some quality time with the big guy. Today we went to Montana Charlies flea market. I got this HUGE pineapple for 3 bucks. : ) Than we went to DelRey's Chicken basket. First time. The chicken was amazing. Marinated for 24 hours. ummmm. Next week: Apple picking.
Last sunday I taught my first religious ed class since cancer. I have 8 beautiful second graders. It's been a long time since I have been around that age and to tell the truth, I just fell in love with them. It's good to feel almost back to normal.

Oh, Onward....your post is so ONWARD! I love that you are working with young children!
DH and I needed to go to a memorial mass for one of his cousins. She died of a brain tumor and apparently was a wonderful woman. I did not know her as she lived in California. Jackie provides us with quotes, but I was hoping I could inlcude one by Jack London that was used in the eulogy for this wonderful woman.
"I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry-rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them. I shall use my time." London
Take care!

"It is my conviction that it is the intuitive, spiritual aspects of us humans-the inner voice-that gives us the 'knowing,' the peace, and the direction to go through the windstorms of life, not shattered but whole, joining in love and understanding."

Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for powers equal to your tasks. Then the doing of your work shall be no miracle, but you shall be the miracle.

Mahomet- I am familiar w/your area as I have driven thru it about 200 times in the last 18 months on my way to Peoria. The DHS marching band used to always go to the competition in Mahomet at the end of the year. Unfortunately, we are not coming this year. I would love to get together if possible with you and Mansfield. That would be great.

Just a quick hello... My leg still hurts a bit, but on and off and not worse, so I'm betting it's a muscle from Yoga..

Hope all going through treatments are doing well.. I feel much better starting with Sundays.. of course by Wed, it all changes to feeling YUCK.. my Onc gave me a prescription and I filled it.. but then read the side effects and decided to be nauseaus instead..
UGH...Off to eat dinner so I can go on a nice walk with all the kids on such a beautiful day!!

Mahomet-I am getting treatment in Danville . My oncologist is at the local cancer center. We've been to the St. Jude affiliate in Peoria so much, I am relieved to not have to travel for my treatment. I can head to Champaign and meet you when it's good for you. I am not driving yet, as I am to still baby my left side. Hoping to get drain out this week and get the all clear. After that, I'm game for anything!

Laura....Loved the boobs.....really funny. Mak...sorry the prescription is not going to work for you. Can't recall, but do you use any of the white diet for nausea -- or ginger or ginger ale. At least hopefully, you got a couple good days here.
Lago....that was pretty funny as well. Talk about seeing the bright side of one of the worst things. Hats off on that one.
See you all later.
Hugs, Jackie

mahometmom I would PM stjude with your email. Leaving out here in a public forum you leave yourself open to spam. Just click on stjude's name. On the right you'll see "send member a private message" click on that.
Then edit your post above to remove your email.

Hi gals,
I can't seem to get caught up with the posts, but that's great! Mahomet, I love your avatar!
We've had a sad week. Dave lost his mom on Friday night.. She was quite the lady and lived a good long life....88 years....but it's still hard to lose them. She had been in a nursing home for 3 years and he had gone faithfully most Sunday afternoons to see her, even when she got to the point where it was hard to communicate with her.
Our youngest cat goes in tomorrow for her surgery (spay) and front declaw. It's amazing how attached you become to them in such a short time and of course I'm already worrying.
makmak...have you tried heat and ice on your calf? I had a similar thing happen to me last year when I went to FL. My one calf began to really hurt and swelled a little. I was worried about a blood clot but a retired doctor who was sitting around the pool when I was complaining about it told me to try hot and cold, which would help if it was muscular. It worked to reduce the pain and we decided that I'd pulled the calf muscle by walking the beach in the sand.
Laura, isn't it funny how those mini-meltdowns still pop up every so often? I think they're more common that many think.
Well, our Tuesday morning bowling league starts tomorrow. That means that golf is about over.....:-( I need to get regrouped so I can drop the cat off, pick up the bowling treats and get there in time to bowl!
Hugs to all of you.
Rita
