Anyone going to be at NW on Jan 30th? I will be down there for a med onc appt at 11:20am. Anyone up for a quick lunch after? I am still planning next Thursday for lunch with those of you that are going to be downtown. We still have to decide on a spot for lunch next Thursday.

I had my mamo call back appt this morning - everythings ok. You ladies were right. The radiologist was seeing areas with slight changes so he wanted a couple of different views. I was a little nervous when I first got into the room because I was told that I was scheduled for an ultrasound if necessary, the past flashed before me, remembering the U.S., biopsies etc. Because of my bc history, dense breasts, etc they just wanted to recheck some areas and the radiol. came to talk to me after and confirmed no concerns. So glad everything's ok - thanks again for your support. Yay!

Oh Mich!
This being Wednesday and Wednesday being your call back mammo....you have been on my mind all day. I am so happy for you It kinda feels like you have another new lease on life, doesn't it? I had a call-back and went into a complete funk, was rude to the receptionist and edgy with the doctor. Then they said, "Everything was fine"! I had to apologize once I got my bearings that I indeed had a new lease on life! You being such the lady just got the new lease without giving the apology! You go girl!
I have the feeling there are two lunch plans going on. I am unable to attend the one this upcoming Friday as I work and then head off to Waterloo to see my SIL (and do some antiquing). Of course if this BAD weather comes, all bets on all things may be off. Have fun, ladies. BJ, are you off on Friday?
Stay warm!

Thanks, Robo. DD will have her prenatal monitoring session on Wednesday or Thursday of next week (not determined at this time) but I will know by Tuesday. I care for her two kids when she does as it takes all day. If I can, I would love to meet up with you ladies again. I have another dd in Lakeview and could make it a double visit with you all and then her afterwards.

Everyone has a purpose in life... a unique gift or special talent to give to others. And when we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of our own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals.

Good morning from snowy southern Illinois. Thankfully, not too snowy, but it will be cold all day meaning that although it won't get worse ( not really much snow ) it won't get better. The next two days at least will be similar.....so they say.
My car needs a new thermostat and then all should be right with the world.....well, ok, there are a few other things but I'm not interested in them just now.....so on we go to a good day. Hope you are all safe and not having difficulties......I think there is snow turning up over most of the state today. Thinking about all of you.
Hugs, Jackie

The snow is falling out here in Geneva....lordy! The roads are slick too....be careful if you are out and about today ladies!

Great news, Mich. Was thinking of you yesterday. Go celebrate.
We finished our road trip home from Arizona yesterday. Four long days in the car. Ugggh! We broke it up some by doing some touristy things and spending one night with friends who live on Table Rock Lake in southern Missouri near Branson.
Sort of enjoying the snowy day as I have lots of unpacking to do and have to refocus on work also. The temp is hovering right around 32 so it is not bad but sounds like we are in for ice this evening. My DH has been out running errands and he says the roads are "slick as snot" ... just quoting him! Sure hope the roads won't be a problem tomorrow for our lunch bunch tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you gals.0 -
Good to hear your news Michele!
Hope everyone is enjoying this weather! NOT! I want spring!

Connie my current facebook status:
control z, option z I don't care just make the snow stop. I want spring back0 -
Jen - Such pretty tattoo ideas. I've always said that I was going to get a small tattoo one day. I've yet to find a design I like, or settle on a spot I'd want to get it! Who knows if it'll ever actually happen. Oh, and it doesn't matter how old I am, my mother would still have a HUGE FIT if I ever actually get one.
Mich - Great news! I'm sure you're relieved.
Susan - How is your daughter doing?
lago - LOL with the photoshop reference. I opened PS for the first time in a long time yesterday and I was so lost!
Not sure about the lunch tomorrow, hope it's okay if I make a last minute call about it. A friend might be coming by if she can swing it, and I have my appt. with the PS later in the afternoon.

Rene you do realize that Control Z or Option Z work in all Microsoft office products as well as adobe and other applications, right?!

I'm still hoping the weather is OK for tomorrow too.

Let it snow! I know you hate the snow, Lago, but look down out of that hi-rise and just admire this wondrous sight! You have to love it (well, maybe you don't). It is just so beautiful! Can you see Zoo-lites from your home? They are probably down by now.
Rene, thank you for asking. I sent you a pm.
I do work tomorrow but if school calls a snow day and things look okay around lunch, I will meet up with you. My school does not cancel for snow often, so I won't hold my breath.
That is it for me...stay safe if traveling!

The were taking down the zoo lights yesterday morning. Snow would be fine if it just stuck around for 1-2 days. Yes it's very pretty out when it sticks to the trees but in the city it just becomes an ugly mess real soon. It also give people a reason not to pick up after their dogs.
Sorry Zap. I had my share of snow growing up in New England. I'm so over it now. I wish I was with Donna in AZ right now

I love the snow....but don't like the ice. After a little over 25 yrs. in southern California....I realised that I missed SEASONS that were a REAL seasonal experience. For winter in Ca. was just a couple of months of rain and dampness. I grew to dislike it. Also, it is not as warm in Calif. as you think it will be. Even more so if you live by the ocean as we did. You change clothes three or four times a day because the weather can change that much daily. I'm glad that we lived there, and there are many enjoyable memories.....but at least here when it is hot.....it is hot etc. To change clothes all day to accomodate the breeze coming in off the ocean ( which it did at least twice a day ) so that you start your day in slacks, then change to shorts, then in the afternoon back to slacks and sometimes a sweater....which often became a light jacket when the sun went down.....so I do appreciate that we have real seasons.
Also.....you can't fake Christmas. Thru several of those years we ate Christmas dinner on a picnic table -- if you are used to and grow up with a "cold" Christmas....after a while the desert type Christmas just doesn't do it. " I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas " is hard to sing along to in your shirt sleeves and thongs outside as your walking through the sand on the beach. So, though I hate the ice.....I like snow and watching the fat lazy drifting flakes. It stirs something inside of me.....and in the air they are all so clean and move so perfectly.
Ok....enough poetry I guess. Wish we could all take a day off to appreciate a great winter snow-storm. Lago, you are right though.....even here all too soon the salt trucks are out and what was a pretty drift of pristine snow is a filthy puddle of slush in such a short time. We are fortunate to be a mile from the highway and two miles from town.....so we get to enjoy clean pretty snow for a bit longer.
I hope you all had a safe day.
Hugs, Jackie

Hi everyone! Have just skimmed through posts, so may have missed some news, but wanted to say YAY Mich on the great result!
It looks like I may be starting chemo next week -- am going down today for echocardiogram. It will be a big week as I am officially starting back at work next week, too. My office is closed Monday, though, and then I am off Thursday for dr. appointment, so it will be only 3 days of actually working. If I do start the chemo, it will be Thursday (may put a crimp in our lunch plans). If not, it will be the following Thursday, the 26th.
Restaurants very near hospital: Au Bon Pain in Galter Pavillion, Corner Bakery; Elephant & Castle and Coco Pazzo Cafe (all on St. Clair within a block of Galter), TGIFriday (on Erie around corner from Corner Bakery) are in the immediate vicinity. Potbelly's down Ontario just a bit.
Hope to catch up later, Lisa

Please no Au Bon Pain! That have that at Rush too. When I got chemo I would get my blood tested, see the doctor then have to w ait 1+ hours for them to make the chemo. We would eat lunch at Au Bon Pain. I swore I would never eat there again.

Jackie I will admit it's still pretty here. Snow is still on the trees but let the melting begin… granted too cold for that today.

Courage, it would seem, is nothing less than the power to overcome danger, misfortune, fear, injustice, while continuing to affirm inwardly that life with all its sorrows is good; that everything is meaningful even if in a sense beyond our understanding; and that there is always tomorrow.
