Lago.....great song.  I'm a super Muppets fan anyway....ok, I know I'm a bit old for it but " Why Are there so many songs about Rainbows" ---  anyway though my thin, fine hair has been back for some time, I still enjoy Jim Henson's creations.

Wendy....it is so hard to get wake-up calls that way....don't we all pretty much know.  Probably a good thing about some of the exercise -- maybe a little edge, but my prayers will find their way to the Universe for sure.

Lemon...yay for being done with one and of course, praying the Taxol does a good job but backs off and keeps any se's light.  Never know till your neck deep.

Yay for fantastic, fabulous, furry  FUZZ.

Taking Dh to Marion today for colonoscopy.....weather won't be too sweet --- bout' as much fun an the colon prep.

Hope you all have a great day.

    Hugs, Jackie

Glad your friend is doing well, Laura.

Wendy - prayers to your BIL.  MY BIL had the same issue on Xmas Day 3 years ago.  He just didn't feel right for 2 days but didn't have any massive pain.  It was a heart attack!  He is also an exercise nut and goes out for 5 mile runs several times a week!  Scary!

Good luck with the Taxol lemondrop.  I found it to give me bone pain in my legs.   They prescribed Vicodin to help with the pain but even that didn't help.  I would have a couple days every cycle where I pretty much didn't sleep at all because of the pain.  Sorry - not trying to scare you!!   I found the neuropathy to be annoying but I lived with it.  I still have small issues with my fingers - I can't get those darn fruit bags open at the grocery store.   I also still have problems in my feet.  I find that I can't wear any shoes that are even remotely snug in the front or I really get numb.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

So much to comment on!   Good thoughts going out to Laura's friend and Wendy's BIL, and Susan's sweet little granddaughter.

Katie -- terrific news, I am so happy for you to have a clean path report.  Wonderful.

Lisa -- congrats, you are halfway there!  I was in the minority of people who found A/C tolerable, but struggled with taxol... like Connie, I found the bone pain to be rough on me.  I was able to essentially work without a break during A/C, but I couldn't pull that off during Taxol.  Had treatment on Thursday, felt fine on Friday and worked.  Laid low for the weekend, but the following Monday and Tuesday I felt pretty rotten.  The first cycle I tried to tough it out and it was pretty awful.  The last three cycles, I threw in the towel, took Monday and Tuesday as disability days, and found the pain to be VERY manageable as long as I took it easy.  Also, I had almost NO neuropathy, but I did take L-Acetyl-Carnitine and a complex B supplement.   Onc wasn't sure that it would help, but did tell me that it couldn't hurt.....

Yep, Acetyl L-Carnitine, L-Glutamine and ice your finger and toes.  B complex sounds good too!  Good luck on your next leg of the journey Lemon.

Hah!  Yes Adey I am on week four, and I am hurting all over but doing it.  I may repeat week four next week, just so I don't overdo it, but I'm up to running 16 minutes in a thirty minute session.  Tired and sore, but I can't tell if all the joint pain is from the running... or because I have been on Armidex for six weeks.....

I still don't have my resume together, I am enjoying this leisure time... since college the only time I haven't worked was either on maternity leave or for a mastectomy.... I am kind of liking this!

I was 42 when I started chemo and was told it would it would put me into menopause and "based upon my age, I probably would not come out of it".  I was in menopause - hot flashes and all.  Unfortunately, it did not last.

I am so bad at Words with Friends and I wouldn't take it so badly if I were not the English teacher I was for 20 years.  Lisamed, above me, is one word shark and so is Rita and so is Connie and so is Jan and I am so not.  My problem is that I get restless studying the board so I throw in any word  in, earn 5 points and just glad to move on.  That attitude is not a winning one, I admit.

Wendy, I always have time for prayers for those who are waiting and watching. Prayers for your BIL.

Violet is gaining  weight!  YAHOO!  With the heart business, she gets tired and tends to drift off while feeding......BUT.....baby girl is gaining and that is great.  We  still have no answers but she has three doctors right now watching her.  I have my own theory that they simply do not know  and must do a watch and see to see how it goes.

These tornado pictures are scary.  I am thinking of you Southern Illinois girls.....how are you doing?

Lisa, so happy you are enjoying your well-earned little hiatus from work.  Your kids are still young so I can see why you are enjoying time off.  I

Thinking about you especially, Blackjack....not sure why...but I know you are probably kicking back on a Friday after a week of serving others.

    Have a great weekend.

Just thought I'd jump in and let you know.....all is well with Dh.  Not a great trip to Marion....lots and wind and rain.  No sooner got into the waiting room for Dh to be called......and had a Gray alert.  We were ushered out of the waiting room and into a hallway with no windows.....everything came to a halt till about 1/2 hr. later when the all clear came.

Then....that made us quite late.  We didn't leave the hospital and Marion till about 3:30 p.m.  I started my white knuckle drive home.  We made it though.....plenty of wind to go around.  We got taken off our tornado watch here about an hour ago.

This is what comes this time of yr.  Another one of those facts of life......

    Hugs, Jackie

lago, this was the head of the breast center at U of Chicago.  She did my surgery but she runs the entire department, I think.  she's a really lovely person.  Just not a very careful dr.

Awww... Lauragto, you looked cute!! I got new glasses last week and I look like Drew Carey now. Lol

Jackie, glad all is well with the DH and that the storms didn't cause you any harm!! Scary time of year coming....ugh!

Zap...so happy to hear baby violet is putting on some weight and doing good!!! :)

I have a busy busy weekend getting ready for my E surgery on Monday.... Laundry, cleaning, food prepping for next week.....changing bed sheets throughout the house. I have this "nesting" obsession right before knowing I'm going to be laid up. I'm dreading the surgical bra again...and the 50/50 probability I'll end up with a drain. Oh, and having to sleep on my back again for however long it takes.

I am ready to get these damn TEs out though....it's been a long time coming!!!

    Happy Saturday everyone! :)

"A human being is part of a whole, called by us the 'Universe,' a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty." (Albert Einstein

Timbuktu if you are comfortable with her although she is not careful then you know you need to watch closely. If the "Just not a very careful dr." bothers you I'm sure there is someone at U of C that isn't so overloaded that you can switch to.

    Yay Baby Violet!

Laura you don't look like Curious George, although you are just a cute.

    Jackie, Yay DH!

Madmom are you doing your exchange in the city or in the burbs?

Jackie-  I don't watch the news much or read the paper (I'm an ostrich I guess).  It depresses me.  Then a friend in CA called and texted every member of my family worried that the storms were near us.  The pics are awful.  I was in hurricane Andrew, blech.  Tornadoes scare me more, not much warning.  Prayers and good weather vibes to the southern gals!  Happy all is well with you and your DH.

MadJen-  Drew Carey, HA!!!!!  Great luck Monday.

Zap-  Yay for grandbabyzap!  Hoping for some of those cute little baby rolls.  (c:

Lisa-  Keep enjoying, you deserve it!

George-  You look(ed) great!  I was Uncle Fester!  I'll try to post a pic...... but you know how I am with that!

Prayers, prayers, and good vibes going out.  Too many are needed right now.

    60 next week, woot!

Madismommy -- the exchange surgery is a piece of cake compared to the mastectomy.  Felt good in a couple of days, the back sleeping didn't last very long.  Good luck.... the implants are so much more comfortable than the TEs.  I had surgery on a Tuesday... Thursday was Thanksgiving, and sat very comfortably in a restaurant for a two hour meal, then went out to a movie right afterward, no problem at all!   Good luck!

Laura.....I loved that picture of you from the moment I saw it.....long time back.  Not saying that I don't have great appreciation for you as you are now.....but something of the REAL you shines through when something has been debilitated and is returning.  Maybe it is the eagerness of acceptance that things will get back to normal ---  I've seen it in pictures of others.

Adey.....we don't get all that much news in our newspaper, but saw such news stories this a.m. on t.v.  They really do go on and on with it.  I actually didn't want to go yesterday....but felt somewhat pressured...Dh had done all that icky "prep" and of course, no food.....so we went.  I must say....we were fortunate  to have gotten through the area ( before the funnels were sighted )  and into the hospital ( I don't think anything actually touched down....it wasn't reported that way, and to have it all passed us when we were ready to leave.  Didn't realize our home county even had anything going on till I got on my computer and found the Nixie alert.  Our local police department/city of.....set this up.  There are always prayers for those who must endure....glad all the "school students and personnel" were all right in Indiana.

Timbuktu --  I think the old adage is true....that is until the make/break point --- whereever that is, of if you want something done.....give it to a busy person.  Maybe your Dr. went a little past her point.  Hope you are able to get a good resolution.

Hope you all have a great Saturday.....cool here.  Summer yesterday, but that is really what set us up for problems.....nearly a whole week of summer like temps.  We could have snow flurries tomorrow.....but nothing that would stay on the ground.  March has not come in like a lamb.  Sigh !!!!

    Have a great Saturday anyway.

    Hugs, Jackie

Oh and Joan also beats me on Words.....too.  I do win every game when I play a former student but that doesn't help the ego out!

Glad you got the mission accomplished, Jackie.  I don't blame your DH.  After all that awful prepping, no way I would cancel. Yes, this weather is humbling.  I so feel for these people. Stay safe!

This is such a cozy day.  I want to watch an Oscar nominated film.  Which one did you love!
