Was trying to give a shout out to this band with Time Machine.  Thought NSWTD might get it.

Whoa, Elimar, back it up! Monkey Time is a fairly unknown, but great tune by Boz Scaggs! (used to have the biggest crush on Mark Farner, still a fine looking dude)

H&S, I backed it up further to Major Lance.  Is it the same song?  The one I am thinking of was written by Goffin/King, with the lyrics like "You get yours...I got mine...for the monkey time."

Drown was Son Volt, and it was 1996. My bad.

Elimar - no, not the same song. Finally found a 30-second preview on Last.fm, but it's just on an old, hard-to-find (i.e. expensive) CD I bought on eBay. Got the 8-track in the early 70's - cheep. "...but the monkey grabbed my coat and took away my hat, and I don't remember what happened after that."

(My bad.  Was thinking it was on Nick's solo album.  Dave Edmunds (in Rockpile) had "Crawling From the Wreckage" on his solo album the same year--79 or 80?--which is what I was goin' for--not a repeat of Rockpile, but they were all in each other's band right around that time anyway.)

Sorry.  There are so many songs with the same title, or even more commonly so many bands cover the same tune.   I'll be back when I can play better.

Hint, there is a yellow and red ball on the album art.  I guess I'm not making this game fun.   Google is a powerful tool, huh?      *poof*

dawn31337, my message about same songs was for Twinmom06, and her title, not your latest challenge, which I did know.

Now THAT is a deep cut from the 70's, and I'm sure I have not heard it since then.  The artist has been buggin me for 3 hours now (because I think it is the same guy who made "Guitarzan,") but I cannot remember the name.
