cancerian, I'm sorry nobody has replied to your post but the situation you are in is very rare. It's tough to have your diagnosis and planned treatment upended by a surprise finding. My surgery pathology did not match my biopsy pathology. However, my breast surgeon warned me that she thought the tumor was IDC rather than DCIS so at least I was prepared. I'm sure the surgeon will have a new plan for you. I hope it all works out well.

News today is not real news but more like public relations firms working for free for the most despicable of people: Trump, DeSantis, Cruz, Pence, Hawley, Soylent Greene, and ballless McCarthy, their ilk, etc. If the newspapers would stop reporting on any and all of the temper tantrums thrown by these despicables, we might get to real news. Like why gun legislation is not aimed at controlling access to guns capable of mass destruction.
Blaming the shooting on the woman because she was "trans" is deflection from the real issue: she had a gun and mental health issues. Blaming her parents is ridiculous since she was 28 years old and no longer under their control. So another deflection from the real issue: GUNS KILL and guns in the hands of unstable people KILL. This latest shooting has really distressed me because I read about killings on a daily basis in Philadelphia where it is becoming a rampant issue and we get bad press because of this. Again the real issue is: they can so easily get their hands on guns with no background checks and are using guns of mass destruction. If a hunter claims he needs this gun for hunting deer, he is not hunting, he is massacring that deer rendering it inedible. I am just sick of the abuse of the 2nd Amendment to rationalize why guns in the hands of any lunatic group, desperate person or the mentally ill is justified until they make the headlines. The aim of the 2nd Amendment was to arm militia for defense of the country not for assassination of its citizens by anyone who takes offense at their actions, words, looks, etc. The children who died never offended anyone, they did not live long enough to learn how to be offensive. Just sick of what the news has been degraded to: free public relations advertising and catastrophes.

I have bone only mets and had a bone biopsy for mutations after AI (for stage III), CDK4/6 for stage IV and Afinitor. the bone biopsy showed only a CCND1 mutation and no ESR1 mutation. I went to Xeloda for 2.5 years. Now on enhertu- my MO says she will do another test for mutations esp ESR1 when enhertu fails. There hasn't been as much success with liquid biopsies in breast cancers as there is with other cancers- but, they are working on it. Not sure what kind of test I will have and clearly hope it is a long way off.

I hired a cleaning lady when I was going through chemo (I wanted to keep teaching too, and as I only had so much energy, I knew that I needed to let some of the other things go). Karen, you might consider what things you can either get somebody else to do, or hire other people to do some of those things for now.
It was negative 4 degrees this morning & felt colder, so the Wednesday Walking Women are still inside for the foreseeable future.
