OMG, I cannot believe I just ran out of gas on the highway. In a Prius, no less. Thankfully I made it all the way up off the exit and I'm sitting on the bridge. I can see three gas stations within the next 1/4 mile. Thankfully I have Roadside Assistance for such a time as this . I couldn't be more embarrassed

I'm just hoping I don't wet my pants before he gets here. If y'all hear about an old fat lady who was arrested for indecent exposure in Alabama, that would be me.

Poodles, OMG! As they say, if you didn't have bad luck, you'd have no luck at all. Hope by now that you have gasoline and have peed without an indecent exposure ticket. And are safely on your way. HUGS!

Vargadoll, my oncotype Dx was 13. Even with two positive nodes I didn't have chemo. Poodles, hugs! I hope your mom is okay.

Oh, Poodles! I'm laughing and crying and putting a shoulder to your psychological car bumper all at the same time. Please let us know what's up with your mum?

Poodles, running out of gas in a hybrid? The irony gods must be laughing till they wet their pants. Hope they can deliver enough gas for you to tank up again.

I know, right? So embarrassing! Geico sent a nice man and his wife, and their dog, to put gas in the tank. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough gas to start it. We all piled into his truck and drove to the gas station. While he pumped the gas, I ran in and peed. Thank goodness there was no line, or I would have surely wet myself!

They had me back on the road in about 20 min. Note to self: check the gas guage every time you stop. And don't let it fall below 2 bars!

i forgot to add that they were able to get mother's insane BP under control. She has a bladder infection again. She probably had another TIA. Her CT scan was normal, so no stroke. At this point she is not quite at baseline. She's having pretty severe trouble with word recall and she tells the same stories 2-3 times within a 2 hour period. But that's better than this morning. When she got up she didn't recognize her pants, didn't know what they were for, and didn't know how to put them on (at which point my sister called 911!)

Mother is happy to be at home tonight!

Vergadoll, my onco score was 24 and didn't have chemo either... I was told at my age the risk outweighed the benefits... no regrets.. and just saw my mo and good for another 3 months..

Helloladies. I have two lesions that are 6 cm apart in the left breast. One is 2cm the other 1cm. The doc is recommending a mastectomy because if I have the lumpectomy, my breast will look deformed. I'm wondering if any of you have any type of deformity as a result of your lumpectomy. I'm small breasted and trying to come to a decision soon. I'd like to go the least invasive route. Was anyone recommended mastectomy but insisted on lumpectomy??

    TY :))

You might want to check with a plastic surgeon to see if he/she could rearrange tissue after lumpectomy in two areas. There are many options available

Cupcakez, I believe that you are entitled to reconstructive surgery even after a lumpectomy so your breasts will look balanced and nice. I don't think that having a "deformed" breast is a valid reason for a mastectomy. Perhaps consult a different breast surgeon. Don't let this surgeon force you into something you don't want or need! Stand your ground.

    HUGS!

Hi eveyone: been gone a bit, my resistance is low and got the flu after finishing radiation. I am now 30 post radiation and the skin on my breast is looking much better. Now to get better from this flu. Just a note a like IHG had an oncotype of 24 and for the very same reason was told chemo and radiation only were about the same for recurrence. I choose radiation only and never looked back.....well i did question my choice one time but i believe that the decision was the right one.

I have one question tho: don't know who to ask, what better place to ask than the wonderful people on this board-after radiation the mole on my treated breast has become very very black who should I see about this? Surgeon, onco, dermatologist.........

Dermatologist. The other docs are going to refer you to them, anyway.

Definitely get to the derm ASAP and get that mole removed! After rads, I visited the derm to check on a cafe-au-lait spot on my other breast (dxed as a “senile keratosis,” or age spot) and a wart on my temple that was biopsied and came back as a “seborrheic hyperplasia,” or overgrown oil gland. But then she noticed I had a tan-and-brown freckle on my back that I’d never seen before, and biopsied it; it turned out to be a “highly atypical nevus,” well on its way to becoming a melanoma. I now get a full-body skin exam ever 6 mos.

cupcakez- I had 2 masses in my right breast they estimated about 9cm apart, one was 1.6cm & the other was supposedly 1cm (turns out they were both around 1.5 each). I got 3 consults...and at first 2 felt lx and 1 said mx (for same reason you were told). Then one of the lx changed their mind after conferring with others & felt it should be a mx. I chose based on the BS and team I felt most comfortable with (which was LX). I was expecting more deformity, but my breast looks pretty good, sans the war scar. (If you want me to PM a pic I can).

I would not suggest having the surgeons shift around the breast tissue during the lx for shaping. I almost had a breast reduction and lift done at the same time as my lx. However, if I had & my BS wasn't able to get clear margins in the surgery...then she would have had to do a MX, because everything would have been shifted around and she wouldn't know where anything was. Once I learned that (ON the day of surgery mind you! Lol), I canceled the plastic surgeon part of my surgery. Luckily, as it turned out, my BS was able to get clear margins anyway...but you never know.

I'm currently in radiation (after 5 months of chemo 🤢), and not sure if I will do any reconstruction after or not. It will depend what my boob looks like after radiation. There is a definite difference in size between the 2, but frankly...not sure if I careenough to go through more surgery. If I do anything, it will be minor...just a reduction/lift to the non-cancer boob & may just keep the scarred boob as is. That's how well it turned out (at least so far).

Thank you Boots and Pontiac! Its great to know I have options after. I'm really leaning towards lump n deal with any deformity down the line. My goal is doing the least invasive surgery n just get on with my life. I'm sick of crying and worrying about this. I can always get a nice tattoo around it too maybe?? Recon months later if I just can't stand it?? Who knows....

kdtheatre, I'm so glad yours turned out well. woopwoop!! hoping I get the similar results. My thought is I'll do the least invasive surgery, see how it turns out, if I really hate it, then perhaps doing something later. I'm just not sure how I feel about MX, immediate TE and implants right now. Once I get MX, there's no going back right??!! I get no sleep over this. Only positive is that my cancer is slow growing and ER PR+. But the Tamoxifen.....oh boy. sighhhhhh If you wouldn't mind sharing a pix, I'd greatly appreciate it. :)))

Poodles, so hoping you got off the bridge with clothing in tack and dry! LOL! Thinking positive thoughts for your mom. It's so hard to see them have one issue after another.

Vargadoll, my Onco score was 20 and I had decided not to do chemo until they ran another test which then recommended chemo. At 14 I really would not have done chemo, and I don't think my MO would have even ordered the second test at that number. Good luck with your plan decisions.

1 year ago today I was diagnosed with BC. It has been a long year getting here. Spent the day with friends from high school. We have been getting together once a year to catch up on our lives for the last 22 years. We went to Preservation Station in Owensboro KY antiquing. Enjoyed the day :)

    Happy Anniversary to all celebrating!

Today is BABY DAY! My daughter is measuring 44 weeks and it's time to bring baby girl into this world. Last delivery was a long 31 hours. I can't keep the toddler while she is at the hospital so my heart is hurting. He's a big busy 2 and I still shouldn't be lifting him.I will be on the sidelines this delivery and I have always been front row. I hate BC even more today!

This is my daughter weeks ago. A friend ask her to do a maternity shoot to help her build her portfolio.

Thanks for your support in life!
