After this week I have a serious question for MAGA.

How have YOUR lives have been improved in the last 2 weeks. How?

In the last 14 days since Trump has returned, we've had 2 devastating fatal plane crashes after he fired the heads of TSA, the Coast Guard and disbanded the Aviation Security Committee.

The USAID office was shut down with 7,000 American jobs already lost AND an estimated 51,000+ American job LOSSES to come.

DEI was shut down. EVERY federal employee who worked in that entire department lost their job.

Tariffs were put on Mexico, Canada and China which will only COST the American people MORE money.

Cars will increase because car parts actually cross the US, Canadian and Mexican borders SEVERAL TIMES before a vehicle is put together. Because the import costs are increased, the consumer (that's right, YOU, the American people) will pay for that. Not Trump. Not Elon. Not the other countries. YOU.

Food costs will increase. Many fruits and vegetables are grown outside of the United States because they can only be grown in certain climates. It's not like someone can go out and grow bananas or mangoes in the middle of Wisconsin. They must be imported. And because they come from countries that now have tariffs, YOU, the AMERICAN PEOPLE will pay extra to have them imported.

RFK JR may be the next secretary of health. He eats roadkill. He does not believe in vaccines. He thinks man-made chemicals in the environment make children gay or transgender. He also thinks wi-fi causes cancer. This is not science based. This is just what he thinks. He's not qualified.

MAGA thought they were getting cheaper groceries?

Prices are up and we are less safe.

They got played and they'll spend every day for the next 4 years trying to convince themselves otherwise.

So, I ask, please tell me how your life has improved in the last two weeks.

Words to live by. Unfortunately now is a different time and different political climate.

Not sure of the socio-economic determinants of the MAGA class but feel they envy the billionaires, want what they have but don't realize they are the oppressors and that is why they can never hope to escape their lot. The rich are telling them they don't need an education which they have bought in to, they believe socialism is harmful but love the benefits they receive from this such as affordable health care, tax rebates, etc. and don't realize if their state has to pick up the tab for education, health care, etc they will be on the losing end. So many of the red states are dependent upon the federal government to subsidize these services and receive money from blue states who have been paying their way for many moons.

I believe MAGA"s mantra is "Ignorance is bliss" and that the followers don't know the definition of bliss in this instance.

I do not believe that Gaza should be emptied so the toad can offload them to other Arab countries so he can build his next fantasy bankruptcy. The suggestion that he send American troops there would be in direct opposition of NATO.

    Warning rant ahead:

I do genealogy research with my distant cousin and we have been buddies for over 35 years. We don't see each other much but keep in touch online via email. I am not a fan of social media so this is my only outlet that is borderline that. I told her I do not subscribe to social media for communication.

We agreed to not discuss politics because unfortunately she is a sycophant of the toad and in our last 2 exchanges she has brought up politics and is gleeful about his antics. I am not, and when today she told me I should use social media like Twitter, to learn the truth about our government, that was the last straw. That the truth can only be found there and not where I would look. I am sure she subscribes to Truth Social as well. Clearly she has drunk the Kool-aid but I want to preserve the friendship. So I very politely reminded her of our agreement that politics were verboten and reminded her that I value our relationship. I am not sure how she will react but enough is enough.

My BFF has been a lifelong repugnican and just admitted that she is very upset about what is happening now. For her to say this is I am sure very difficult but I am glad we can be open with one another. I make it a policy not to discuss politics with her either.

As a professional who was a college professor, we were told that if we were on social media, we had to provide access to our employer. Our students were also advised not to use social media for the same reason and many of our students found out the hard way that employers would not hire them if they were in debt, posted drunken outings online or were seen in others postings that reflected poorly on their behavior. Plus I never felt the need to communicate so openly.

Okay, rant over. I am just glad that we have this forum to speak our minds and know that others share our feelings in general.

I put like but I'd rather this time had love. Maybe it should have been agree. Don't know if I ever mentioned it here but my first mother-in-law was French Canadian. She lived in Detroit for many years, but as well we often spent time in Amherstburg, Canada because there were lots of relatives still living there. I learned to really love the game of hockey. And as well Canada. Back in the day the big name in hockey was Gordie Howe.

So I do AGREE that I love your meme, Ruth.

As well I love those words to live by because it is exactly how life should be.

As to your rant Betrayal, I feel a lot of the same things. There is family and since we don't spend loads of time together, I don't get as perturbed as I otherwise might. Then again, I as well as the rule, no political talk. We don't see eye to eye and never have and probably never will. Yet, at our age we likely need each other now and then (we have each helped the other a lot more the last couple of yrs). so we have a truce.

Betrayal, I do think (it sure seems the case with my family) that those who are Reps. never, never, never allow themselves to experience any news unless it comes from the right. Many of us not only watched more than one station, but some of us also even checked in on Fox once a week or so just to catch their renditions of the news.

I am seldom partaking of any but local news. Dh still insists on 'some' MSNBC and I hear it, but don't really listen to it unless something comes out that has a "shocking" ambiance to it. I'm usually on my computer and just like now thinking what I'm going to say or engrossed in reading an article. I do think in order for a lot of people to get FG he is going to have to really MESS up big time and this may be that time. There are many things that should ring alarm bells but a lot of it right now is not causing too much personal pain. When it gets there, perhaps people will find their aha moments and figure out how things really are. I hope so and I am thankful for those apparently not so brainwashed like Betrayal's BFF. I sometimes wonder how some of those I know are Reps. are viewing 'today's' Trump. People in my part of the world do not believe engaging in political talk is the thing to do, so I may never know but I'd think if Musk and FG keep at it like they have, even some of them will possibly sour on him == although I think they'd stay Rep.

BREAKING: BREAKING: Donald Trump and Elon Musk get slammed with nightmare news as several powerful labor unions

    image.png

file lawsuits over "DOGE" as the sham agency prepares to illegally gain access to the Labor Department.

This is the line in the sand...

The AFL-CIO –– the largest federation of unions in the country — as well as its affiliated government employee unions filed the lawsuit and warned that Musk could gain access to nonpublic info if DOGE raids the Labor Department.

"Today, they will come for the Department of Labor," the lawsuit states, citing a Labor employee who was informed that DOGE is planning to visit and "to do whatever they ask, not to push back, not to ask questions."

"DOGE seeks to gain access to sensitive systems before courts can stop them, dismantle agencies before Congress can assert its prerogatives in the federal budget, and intimidate and threaten employees who stand in their way, worrying about the consequences later," the lawsuit reads.

In particular, the unions are concerned that DOGE's snooping could give Elon Musk access to information related to ongoing investigations into his companies. It's an absurd conflict of interest and blatant corruption.

"In the context of this case, disclosure of OSHA records to the leader of multiple companies with ongoing OSHA investigations presents clear risks both to workers and to the integrity of OSHA’s enforcement efforts," the lawsuit reads.

BREAKING: Democrats go right for Elon Musk's jugular and introduce a bill to ban special government employees from obtaining federal contracts — directly threatening his lucrative government gravy train.

The best part is the name of the bill...

Representative Mark Pocan introduced the legislation which is titled "Eliminate Looting of Our Nation by Mitigating Unethical State Kleptocracy (ELON MUSK)."

"Elon Musk gets more than $20 billion in contracts from the US government and bought his way into a new role in the government where he can direct even more money to himself. Enough," Pocan wrote on X.

"My new bill, the ELON MUSK Act, will end this grift!" he added.

Musk's so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has become a lightning rod for criticism as the billionaire's unelected minions work to gut the federal government by rummaging through the Treasury Department's systems.

"@ElonMusk is ripping us off and like millions of Americans across the country, I’m pissed," Pocan added in another post.

"I’m taking action by introducing the ELON MUSK Act, preventing grifters like him from getting richer while pillaging our tax dollars for himself," he wrote.

Pocan is absolutely right. Musk's increasing control over our government while making money off government contracts is the definition of a conflict of interest. He and Trump are transitioning us from a democracy into a full-blown oligarchy.

Enough is enough. Pass this bill immediately.
