I agree completely, however getting rid of trump will be good thing but all of what is going on is much, much bigger and far reaching than just trump. Trumps an ass, but those he has allowed to flourish are much smarter and more evil.

I never ever saw him as a President and I even hesitated to capitalize the word. I do understand because we have known almost nothing but reverence for the highest office. if this is what it takes for people to see who and what this man really is, then hopefully we will never have someone like him again. He is the worst representation of a leader I've ever seen and I do hope all those who voted this man in end up in total self-blame, shame and regret for what they did to their fellow men.

esbrnxgrl: I very much appreciate teachers, now. I came down with Rheumatic fever early in my 3rd. grade. I was taken out of school and put in bed and this was for the rest of that long school year. I was tutored in my worst subjects — English and Math. I hate to say while my teachers tried and were in fact able to pass me, I likely should have re-taken the 3rd. grade.
I never did well in school after that, but I always passed. I did not have a true passion for learning after but I did absorb a lot thank goodness. Life's school has taught me a lot, but I still think it was my personal loss that I did not have a much more productive school life. I'm very aware it had little to do with my teachers. Coming from very small schools ( graduated in class of 8 in grade school and it would have been 6 but my sister and cousin were actually held back a yr). Same thing in high school. Class of 36 that would have been 34 save for sister and cousin). Just meaning, the teachers didn't keep their position long if they were not pretty good. Small schools with lots of parents to notice. My teachers were great — it was me.

I’m so sorry that school was not a more pleasant experience. We are polar opposites! I adore learning whether formal or informal and remember clearly that by the time I was four or five years my life’s goal was to learn… everything! When my parents purchased the World Book Encyclopedia, I thought I’d died and gone to heaven 😂. Now I could learn everything. Ironically, despite my love of learning, I was extremely shy and very scared of all adults. My teachers used to wonder why I was so book smart but couldn’t open my mouth in class or even look at a teacher. I am also a product of the NYC public school system. Who knows how many schools there were but it is huge! I should also point out that CUNY (City University of NY) , which offered undergrad and grad programs, was FREE to all eligible NYC residents. What an incredible advantage that was and I understand the privilege that gave me. BTW, free tuition ceased just about the time I graduated.
It’s very interesting to speak about public education in the US as if there were some overarching and equitable system. There is not and what education, support, access to the latest technology, etc. one gets can very much be a factor of where one lives. My former husband grew up in a rural area and went to very small schools. With the exception of one or two, no one from his HS graduating class went on to college. They were told that if their parents couldn’t afford it, they couldn’t go. No counselors helping them financial aid, scholarships, grants, etc? Nope 🤷🏻♀️. I used to joke that we had grown up in two completely different cultures though we both spoke the same native language. It was eye opening as, in my naïveté, I simply assumed that all children across the US had equal educational experiences and opportunities. I was so, so wrong.

Not sure how many actually came out — it is early for figures, but this is the Washington Mall and there were 500,000 people signed up for it.
So Trump was at Doral touting his second win — how odd, that he did this twice in a row. He couldn't honor our fallen or even decently stay out of sight. But boy oh boy — no problem strutting his stuff over another win — where I'm fairly certain he cheated as he usually does. Heiaus and disgusting and a total waste of decent oxygen.

We just had a fantastic march right in my small town. A surprisingly large crowd; surprising because of my red state & because it was organized a the last minute (so people wouldn't have to drive 100 miles to exercise their 1st Amendment rights). Maybe, just maybe, we are nearing a tipping point....
