Briefly on the topic of names, to those here named Jackie, no matter the derivative, from Jakoline to Jacqueline and all points in between, it's one of my all time favorite names. I'm a big Jacklyn Kennedy fan: her mystique, fashion, intelligence, contribution to the WH and presidency, her life after being widowed, the whole bundle. The name has so much energy, and I would have named my son Jack except I once had a dud of a boyfriend named Jack and wouldn't have ever wanted him to think he had any influence on what I named my child.
Also, ChiSandy. Since I'm very loosely influenced by feng shui, for many, many moons I interpreted the "Chi" in your screen name to be a reference to the oriental form of energy, chi (pronounced chee), the balance of ying and yang, and assumed you summoned this energy to help you deal with bc. I'm not sure when the fog lifted from my brain, but one day it dawned on me that your Chi was probably a reference to Chicago where you live. You know, stated plain as day below your name!

Ruth, your memes hit it out of the ballpark today!
Serenity, will Trump donors, the average Joes, start to understand the heinousness of Trump begging for more financial donations from them?
Here's what I have to say. Trump is a mother fucker for continuing to refer to COVID19 as the China virus.

Sandy: I have been the poster child for and living Groundhog Day since November 1, 2019 when the trees hit our house. At this point the thought of an intact home, seeing my belongings again and resuming a "normal life" are but a pipe dream. Covid 19 has restricted our lifestyle as it has for everyone and I can deal with that if only on a day by day basis but the house project keeps growing exponentially. With no gutters our basement flooded thanks to Isaias and now we are having more rain showers in the forecast with heavy winds predicted. They anticipate trees will topple due to the oversaturated ground. We are surrounded by very large trees so I hope they remain upright.
As far as that old saying "God never gives you more than you can bear". Well, between the house, and a new health scare, if I were a believer, I would say he has. I would not wish this on my worst enemy.

Can it get worse? I heard some Republicans are trying to get Kanye West on the presidential ballot to steer black votes away from Biden. My nephew, who thankfully has recovered from Covid, posted that a guy came up to him in a Target parking lot (in a Columbus, Ohio suburb) and asked him to sign a petition to get an independent on the presidential ballot in November. When nephew asked who, the guy replied "Kanye West." Nephew said no, and the guy mentioned that he was getting paid to ask for petition signatures.
I loathe Kanye. I loathe that he gets so much press.
Betrayal, I hope some of that chi energy comes your way to smooth things out and help get you back on track!

NBC's Kate Snow did a story this week on the wave of public health officials (30 in 18 states) around the country who have resigned, retired, or been fired amid unprecedented pressure since the pandemic began. They and their families are getting death threats, have been followed, had cars vandalized. A social media post suggested one health official be shot and someone else volunteered to do it. Some are fired for telling the truth or not bending the facts the way other officials want them to. Their profession is being maligned as never before. Women in the field bear the brunt of far more hostility than men. States are losing many experts with years of experience.

FYI, New York's Attorney General just filed a suit to dissolve the NRA for massive fraud!

I think some time back it was said that as we progressed Trump and company was likely to get worse and worse about things ( also crazier and crazier ) and it certainly seems to be coming true. Betrayal is so right -- most people could put up with life much better if it was just covid but all of the upsets ( not able to see your loved ones who may be ill and or dying ) plus masks, jobs, social distance, and then you get all the other life calamities and nothing is really separate. Before you can successfully offload a couple of problems three more seem to come along.
I know it will be better once we get Trump ousted -- and I hope not a free man too long. I hope he ruins his kids for all time since some of them seem to think they would make wonderful presidents. Maybe in the end -- knowing we do not have any sort of stable leadership, nor have had from the beginning just started a stress that never really goes away and in the all together it makes even some simple things frustrating to deal with.
I'm totally sick of the number of criminal types who have taken over our government and I do include a fair number of those in the Senate to be of that type as well. We have a long road ahead -- but I think some hope and inspiration could be found if we can just hold on till the get that orange putrid imbecile out of the WH. I for one I think would not feel like their is a weight on me all the time. Here's hopeing big time.

So, not that it wasn't transparent the minute he gave up the presidential salary which he should have done regardless since he is NOT a president and never intended to be.

Jackie: These are great and I especially love the one about the Tootsie roll in a septic tank. Love George Conway but not his nutty wife who drinks the DJT koolaid and is in lala land. I would love to substitute "Ivanka" for "Karen" because my dear SIL is so named but Ivanka doesn;t say mean things, she just says white, privileged, rich things that have no basis in reality such as you have no job, then you need to change...,etc.
Loved the one about staying home in protest on election day. I am all for the clueless Trumpers to do so.
So question: what contents do you think will be found in the Trump Presidential library besides miles to senesless twitter messages. Surely, nothing of substance and thr pens available will most like be "sharpies" his favorite signature tool. Do you think he used them for his contract signatures?
I do think we should make him take his presidential salary and pay out of pocket for his numerous golf excursions. Just think of all the money that could then be diverted to those in need for food, an income and shelter. I am concerned about the threat of evictions and of what it means for those who might be unable to vote.

I think the entitled snotty white women should be called "Kayleighs."
It's breathtaking how many people are meme-driven conspiracy-theory believers and rabidly anti-science. Maybe it's their revenge against teachers who gave them poor grades. But what I don't get about them is their seeming obsession with pedophiles. The memes they love seem to have "Russian troll" written all over them. It used to be that if candidates said stuff that is opposed to your worldview, you dedicated yourself to voting against them. But the contemporary impulse towards violence, and deeming your ideological rivals as "enemies" to be physically harmed or even killed, is chilling. I'm also seeing this in urban gang-retaliation shootings as well. It's almost reminiscent of the old 18th-19th century Appalachian mindset that "disrespect" should be punishable by death. So visceral (and almost "lizard-brained").

SIL just told me they are calling the deranged St. Louis gun waving/toting couple "Karen and Ken" which unfortunately are the names of my DB and DSIL. She is not pleased with this nor do I blame her. Neither of them bear any resemblance to those morons, again a demonstration of white privilege with no apparent consequences.
Kayleigh works for me. Sad how our society is evolving to the negative and that disagreements can only be resolved by the use of violence. "Lizard brains" is correct.

Incredible but even Dr. Fauci and his adult daughters have received death threats. There has always been some suspicion and resentment toward the educated and professionally accomplished among some segments of our society. I have long been baffled by this as it was completely counter to the message I got from my parents. They were not college educated but they made it very clear to us how important education was. All of my siblings and myself have at least a Masters degree. My parents were incredibly proud of us. I am not bragging, simply saying they wanted their children to do better and have more opportunities than they had. in contrast my ex-husband's family. They were completely baffled by those “rich bitches" who went to college and thought they were better than everyone else. They fully expected their children to lead the same type of lives they lived. They loved to poke fun at the educated. Two of their children were college grads and my ex attended for several years but did not graduate. He did, however, lie about that for over 20 years and told people he graduated 🤦🏻. Anyway, I read the book Hillbilly Elegy a few years ago and it gave me great insight into mindsets very similar to my exes family. But despite some understanding I will never understand how people don't think learning is important

I was raised by grandparents. Dad finished high school and Mom 8th grade. From day one at school I was told that my job was to learn and get good grades. Both were intelligent people who did well in life, but they made sure that college was in my future.
When I heard the news tonight, I wondered how many death threats the NY attorney general has received so far.

Two Decades of Pandemic War Games Failed to Account for Trump
Posted: 06 Aug 2020 06:30 AM PDT
Most strikingly, biosecurity researchers didn't predict that the United States would be among the hardest-hit countries. On the contrary, last year, leaders in the field ranked the United States top in the Global Health Security Index, which graded 195 countries in terms of how well prepared they were to fight outbreaks, on the basis of more than 100 factors. President Donald Trump even held up a copy of the report during a White House briefing on 27 February, declaring: "We're rated number one." As he spoke, SARS-CoV-2 was already spreading undetected across the country. Now, as COVID-19 cases in the United States surpass 4 million, with more than 150,000 deaths, the country has proved itself to be one of the most dysfunctional.0 -
Although there are some other factors in this case ( mental in nature I believe ) this is what you can sound like when you do not take well to school life:

Speaking of names--does he call her this or did he just misspell it?
And why is Melania "feeling well" and needing prayers?
Oh, right! She's married to a man named Donald Trump!

If you're able to be yourself, then you have no competition. All you have to do is get closer and closer to that essence. -Barbara Cook

I had no idea that Melania had anything going on. Is this Trump just getting confused or what? He seems to be having lots of issues lately with pronunciations so maybe he is having a few other spells of not knowing what is going on. Seriously, this is the first I heard although I have had to miss a lot of things with a computer that was defeating me for a bit but that is now back to normal.

Look at the date on the tweet, 2018. Isn't that when she had kidney surgery?
Other than that, looks like yet another spelling error! This one could be autocorrect going wild. However there have been so many that this is likely just one more to add to the list.

This message about Melania is from May 2018 not a recent issue. She did have some medical issue then and was briefly hospitalized. Very secretive about the medical issue.

My guess is she got a face and/or breast lift, and WH grifters reported it as a kidney issue.
