Anyone in the Bay Area?
Hi everyone,
I’m 30 and recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I desperately need community that understands what this is like. I have a wonderful support system that I’m beyond grateful for, but I’m hoping to meet people in my area that can relate to this on a personal level.
Sending everyone warm hugs.

ondrehya,
I am so sorry that you have been diagnosed. There are quite a few places in the US that are referred to as the Bay Area ( maybe internationally as well). Could you be more specific?

@ondrehya, we're sorry you have to be here, but welcome! You will surely find support and understanding in the community. We have a number of forums that may be of interest to you. For instance, there is a forum for those who are Young with breast cancer which provides a supportive environment for discussing similar concerns of members diagnosed at such a young age.
Also, you will be able to receive better support if you include your diagnosis in your signature. Here is How to complete and edit your Breastcancer.org profile.
Hope this helps, and we are looking forward to hearing back from you soon!

Hi, sorry about your diagnosis. I lived long time in SF, but now I moved to Italy. Unfortunately I don't have a suggestion for a companion, but as you are in the Bay area, if you ever need a second opinion, I will suggest doc. Hope Rugo, of San Francisco, she is the best!

Are we talking about the SF Bay Area or some other Bay Area?

September,
Although we are a support forum, many members come and go , while others are consistent participants. We have members all over the world. I know (virtually) quite a few members in the Bay Area but all participation here is voluntary and some members divulge little about themselves to maintain anonymity. Specific Bay Area issues aside, you might consider searching this site for issues that pertain to your breast cancer particulars i.e. type of bc, stage, hormonal profile, etc.) for support.
I am sorry that as a Kaiser patient I can’t offer much in the way of recommendations but I have been stage IV for 13 years with no progression after initial treatment. I’m sticking with Kaiser! Wishing you the best.
